I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

putyourhaton, I am going for level 2 tomorrow too, still with lady press-ups. That is if I can bend my legs sufficiently - I have obviously been trying to hard to be Natalie Sad

Carrotcakeisace · 08/01/2012 19:04

Can I join you? Level 1 day 2 done today and can't I feel it!

bigTillyMint · 08/01/2012 20:15

DH reckons I should do the barely-moving-at-all full press-ups for as long as poss and then into lady press-ups if Natalie is still going. Is that what you did picklepoff?

My legs are seriously stiff - I think it was the attempts at Natalie moves (and the cross-trainer in the gym so I could talk to my friend!) It may have to be level 1 again tomorrow!

carrotcake, you are not alone, but it gets better!

Is everyone dieting too? I am feeling guilty that I am not, but am not very keen to diet......

buggyRunner · 08/01/2012 20:23

I'm not dieting- I was trying but decided against it as;

  1. I am bfeeding a 75th centile baby
  2. I actually dont want to loose but maintain and tone
  3. I have zero will power (blaming this on # 1)

Hello, I'm joining in. Day 2 L1. DH has started it too, it was his first day. Did the before photos, not to be posted but to motivate self. Quads are feeling it today but planning to get up at 6am and each do a session whilst the other one looks after our 12 mo baby...

Loving the before and after threads online with pics. I really want my midsection to come back into focus, it is very, ahem, 'blurred'.

bigTillyMint · 09/01/2012 07:27

Day 8 level 1 completed - I went for trying to do proper press-ups (barely moving) rather than level 2 Blush

I am definitely going to try level 2 tomorrow.

I am also going to attempt to stop stuffing my face at every possible moment.

buggyRunner · 09/01/2012 09:21

Day 12 (over 2 weeks) level 3 done! BlushBlushBlush hot and sweaty!

I've decided that I will do 30 days but do it over 5 weeks (so 1 day off a week)

My legs are aching so much

putyourhatonsweetie · 09/01/2012 11:26

level 2 day 9 done. think I am going to be sick....

bigTillyMint · 09/01/2012 11:30

putyourhaton, what were the worst things about level 2?

MorrisZapp · 09/01/2012 12:00

Day one level one done! Awesome. I had to drop a few reps on the lunges, but punched harder than all three of them on the cardio bit! (ex body combat addict here)

DP has made me a 'workout mix' and lent me his ipod, I assume this is what everybody does as the music is so lame, it gives no motivation at all.

Anybody using varying weights? I have really light ones, they were hard going on the squats but too easy on the chest flies.

Mighty odd feeling working up a sweat on my bedroom carpet but I'll get used to it! Why does anyone pay gym fees??

buggyRunner · 09/01/2012 12:10

Morris I have just left my gym as dd2 (5 months) will not take a bottle and needs feeding constantly. I use my dumbbell with 1 kg on each (meaning they are 3 kg) used to just use the bars at 2kg

Level 1 Day 3 done! Had the weekend off as I was working, but back into it with a vengeance. Felt really good, not as hard as the first two days! Do need to get some proper weights, tinned grapefruit doesn't do all that much!

Tonight I am going to be doing the 6 week 6 pack DVD that Jillian has, because I am desperate to be rid of my mummy tummy now, and I don't really feel that the shred does much for my abs.

And next week I am going to begin couch to 5k too...

Napdamnyou · 09/01/2012 15:14

Day 3 level 1, DH did it first while I looked after and bf baba, then I did it. Quads better after workout and walk. Made fab smoothies beforehand, made a big difference in terms of energy - blended Philly, frozen berries, banana and milk. Philly = whey protein. Need to ge some proper protein though, will be cheaper. Had poached egg on toast after and feel GOOD!

Am also going to cut out my end of day couple of bottles of beer and pull back on bread and pasta. Need some carbs though as still breastfeeding a 12 month old.

Good luck everyone.

Carrotcakeisace · 09/01/2012 18:15

Day 3 done and cardio is easier but my quads and shoulder are burning. Dh did 15 secs of the warm up jumping jacks and declared it too hard!

Just did 6 week 6 pack... And I am literally shattered!!

Chesterado · 09/01/2012 21:57

Just done day ten, third day of which on level two. Finding it tough much hotter and sweatier than before and knees are killing. Think I may also have aggravated old ankle pain. On the plus side I zipped my skirt all the way up this morning for the first time in months so must be doing something right!

Picklepoff · 09/01/2012 23:35

tilly that's exactly how I do them - I must look ridiculous though.
I wish I'd come on here earlier... Foolishly spurred on by those talking of moving up to level 2 I thought I'd give it a go. Hopeless- had no idea what I was doing! Those pendulum squat thingies - I just stood there and when I wasn't trying to get my head around them I was tripping over myself. I have no coordination at all. Onward and upward though.
Wow chesterado that's impressive! Well done. Nice to hear that all this work pays off.

putyourhatonsweetie · 10/01/2012 00:14

bigtillymint worst things about level 2? walking press ups, bunny hops and the harsh reality that I am nothing like as fit as I imagined!

putyourhatonsweetie · 10/01/2012 10:53

level 2 day 10 done ... don't feel as sick as I did yesterday. still bloody hell...what on earth is level 3 going to do to me?

serotoninbutterfly · 10/01/2012 11:48

Level 1 Day 4 completed. Was actually worse than yesterday, a bit more achy today Sad although that might be something todo with the sneaky extra workout I did last night... Feeling good though, very positive.

bigTillyMint · 10/01/2012 12:27

picklepoff and putyourhaton Did day 9 (- day 1 of) level 2 Shock I agree completely - I too am totally uncoordinated and I think it will take me a week before I am doing them anything like properly, Anita-stylee, of course!

I'm not feeling any slimmer - I think it's a mixture of no dieting and time of the month Sad

MorrisZapp · 10/01/2012 13:45

As far as abs go, isn't it more a case of losing fat then of getting a wee six pack? I've always had a naturally flattish stomach, but in the last year have developed much jiggleness. I'd like to burn the fat off before I fret about how my abs look - at 40, I don't expect to look like Anita, I just want to be like I was before.

Day 4. Much less achey. Baby was breastfeeding a lot at night though so was tired, but did it anyway and although I found the cardio harder, the lunges and abs were easier. Form generally better though not sure if I will be able to do full press ups and keep up - ever. Yesterday I had a peasant abdominal ache all day which reminded me to hold my core in and thus I felt more shapely and less saggy. bought three pound weights which is easier than two tins strapped together which weighed a kg, three lbs is 1.3 kg but easier to hold.

Also less hungry and poured myself a glass of red at end of day instead of usual two bottles of beer and didn't want it!

Waves at seratonin butterfly, we are doing at same stage!

Is anyone planning on doing 6 days then a rest day, as I understand Jillian originally said? Rather than 30 days straight? Not sure if taking a rest is a good idea as I the the human body is designed to cope with this level of stress and it's not really a muscle building weights workout...
