I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

ssmile - my dd is 4 and often joins in but i feel she puts me off by getting in my way or being funny making me laugh... anyway, she prefers my pilates dvd as she said shred is too fast and pilaties is relaxing and nice Smile

bigTillyMint · 29/01/2012 08:15

Day 21 level 3 done.

OMG, only 9 days to go, and I don't look like any of them yet!

But I am feeling much more flexible and stronger. I didn't realise she was on Biggest Loser - must watch it now!

putyourhatonsweetie · 29/01/2012 10:53

rosalux · 29/01/2012 12:25

ooh you're almost there putyourhatonsweetie. I'm so excited for you. What are you doing to celebrate when you finish? I am planning a mini splurge at SpaceNK (have my eye on ren moroccon rose bath oil), but seems so far away!

ReduceRecycleRegift · 29/01/2012 13:50

LOL at emergency profiteroles early my kinda thinking. I've used rosemary conley hip n thigh lots in past I always lose 7lbs in 2wks then get bored only losing a lb a week after and slip off it. I've actually done 3wks of using myfitnesspal.com and find it really good as I log my walking, cycling, shredding etc against treat food. For example just eaten two cup cakes i made with DD1 so now have to do 45min walk with baby into town to make room for dinner later :o

SoundOfHerWings · 29/01/2012 15:00

Hi ssmile, you had your baby a few days before me. :-)

Me and DH started the shred today, and actually didn't find it too bad (apart from the crunches since my stomach muscles seem non existent since having dd). Although I was doing it without weights as he was sent to buy them and came back with 2.5 kilo ones! I can barely lift them. What weight do you all use?

RedBlanket · 29/01/2012 16:15

Wish we could have Jillian in a web chat. I think I'd take a day off work for it!!

I use 1lb weights, I have seriously weedy arms.

bigTillyMint · 29/01/2012 17:29

I have just got my 2.5kg wieghts out for tomorrow - maybe the odd exercise? They feel seriously heavier than the 1.5kg weights I am currently using.

ssmile · 29/01/2012 20:46

sound I used rice pud tins to start with they were half a kilo, then graduated to a one litre squash bottle in each hand filled with water is 1kg. I've just order 1.5kg weights from Tesco direct for next step up. But I have weak arms :) baby is 22wks old now, so its good time to tone up before she is on the move. I sometimes lie on my back and lift her aeroplane style she is nearly 7kg gd training :o

putyourhatonsweetie · 29/01/2012 21:36

yep nearly there...last day today ooooh rosalux I love the idea of spacenk splurge, think I might have a pedicure. My feet are horrible at the moment.

early lol at emergency profiteroles!

notveryinventive · 29/01/2012 21:52

For those of you on L2 or L3 could you do every rep of every exercise on the previous level. I cant do everything on L1 so am I ready for L2 yet? Ive definately improved, but still find a couple of the exercises difficult.

ReduceRecycleRegift · 29/01/2012 22:00

nah I couldn't do all the full push-ups in L1 so did Anita ones but still went up to L2, I find walking pushups in L2 easier than just straight push ups in L1

catsareevil · 30/01/2012 08:30

I'm on day 23 now, level 3.

I couldnt do everything on L1 before moving up, I couldnt do the push-ups, though have gone back and done L1 a few times, and after doing level 3 I can now do the push-ups.

bigTillyMint · 30/01/2012 08:40

Day 22 level 3 done, using the 2.5kg weightsSmile

I have to admit I'm more Anita than Natalie though!

rosalux · 30/01/2012 09:29

L2D5 (Day 13 overall). Half way through L2 and after my massage and day of rest it didn't seem too bad. Can really start to see more definition in my arms and just feel generally stronger. Will have to sort out my diet though. I'm cutting down on snacks to one mid afternoon fruit bowl and nothing after dinner (my weak time that often finds me snarfing dry cereal/chunks of cheese/peanut butter from the jar etc) and from next week (when I drop a feed as I phase out bf) I'll have to start moderating my portion sizes since I'll no longer have the milking machine excuse. Onwards and upwards ladies...

putyourhatonsweetie · 30/01/2012 10:34

DAY 30 DONE!!!! can definitely see improvemnts - but given that I have a way to go yet I'll have a day off for my poor bloody knees, then its nell mcandrew for me until 6w6p arrives.

rosalux my ds will be having his last feeds this week, wondering if I will lose weight if not holding onto fat for feeding [deluded]

well done all

movingonwardsorsidewards · 30/01/2012 12:20

well done putyouhaton - I have nerver even got to level before but i am determind to see it through this this Smile what is the nell mcandrew dvd like? is it 20mins as well or longer?

I'm only using tins of beans at the moment, but i'm not too bothered as it my lower body that needs more work then the top at the moment.

Do any of you worry about bulking up if you use bigger weights? I used to use bigger weights but I'm always unsure, as i think i build muscle rather the slim down but it could be in my mind Confused

rosalux · 30/01/2012 12:32

woo! putyourhatonsweetie woo!

ssmile · 30/01/2012 12:38

OMG I've just watched level two in prep for tom and feeling scared :) and I'm coordinated! Still I thought level 1 was hard and now after doing it ten times I actually look forward to doing it :o I'm loving getting fit and feeling stronger and the fat is dropping off...

GetOrfMoiiLand · 30/01/2012 12:40

Hello can I join in?

I love 30DS. I think Jillian is wonderful and I have a huge girl crush on her (and have also started watching Biggest Loser which has never been on my radar before).

I generally do 30 mins on the bike, and then do L2 followed by L1 (haven't ventured into L3 yet as I still find some of the L2 moves involving planks rather difficult).

I haven't kept count of the days, but have had the DVD about 2 and a half weeks, have missed a couple of days so I would say I have done about a dozen days. I am aiming to do it every day - is very easy to fit in the two workouts (I never do the warm up or cool down so is only 36 minutes).

I have been on a diet since 1st January and I am very pleased that on weighing myself this morning I have lost a whole stone (was 12 stone 3, a, now 11 stone 3 and with a stione to go).

I am sure shred has helped a lot - I certainly look a lot different.

bigTillyMint · 30/01/2012 13:01

Hi GetOrf! I am very Envy of your weightloss (not that you looked like you needed to lose anything), but I just cannot force myself onto a diet at the moment.
Are you saying that you do a L2 and then L1 back to back? Wow!

Diet starts in 3 weeks, when we get back from skiing. Promise!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 30/01/2012 13:37

I am so jealous of skiing - where are you going. And of course you can't go on a diet before skiing, what with the gluwein, cheese, wine and general levels of food you simply have to eat to keep your strength up. Wink

I don't think you need to lose an inch of weight either (I do as unfortunately I put on two stone, mostly from godforsaken steroids, since last May!)

Yes, L2 and then L1 straight after, I need all my strength for level 2! The trick is is NOT to sit down, go downstairs for a drink, go to the loo, just get straight back into the next one or I just won't. After the 2 workouts I am dead. Grin

bigTillyMint · 30/01/2012 14:11

We stay with our friends - in the Les Gets/Morzine/Samoens etc area. They are fantastic hosts and love to feed ups great food and wine Smile

I haven't got time to do 2 backtoback, unless was on the weekend, but you are much younger and fitter than me! I have put on probably just over half a stone since last May, with no medical excusesBlush Diet definitely has to start in 3 weeks!
