Another thread!

OP posts:
SharkBite · 10/02/2012 12:04

Yes, probably is Fjorn and i cannot get too bothered by it tbh. I feel fine, look fine, so if weight comes off, then bargain, but if not, then

I am a bit Envy of Loti's loss though Blush

No exercise here today as Inset day and no childcare at creche. We have been up to the hill for some sledging but DD2 was cold so had to bring her home Hmm. I may shred if i can get the motivation. Actually, saying that, i might just do it now.... Grin

luckoftheirish · 10/02/2012 12:13

Go for it shark ...

The nxt week is going to be v tricky fitting the old exercise in with no child free hours but am happy to have them home and I guess I can shred or go to gym when dh comes home if I can be arsed

SharkBite · 10/02/2012 13:20

Did it Grin

Level one with weights accompanied by DD1

Porridge for breakfast, Soup & crumpet for lunch

SharkBite · 10/02/2012 13:25

Same here LOTI, and usually Friday is an exercise day, so wanted to do something.

Creche booked for tomorrow, tues and Thurs, so hopeful i can stay on track. Mum and dad here though so may be a sociable glass of Wine and puddings . Aim is to do a good run tomorrow, run/row Tues and pilates Thurs. May try and shred tomorrow to get aerobic sessions in. Out for lunch on Monday too Hmm

Hello you lot. I have been reading for about a week now so thought I should post. I'm 11 stone at 5ft 1- so need to lose at least a stone and a half. I'm on week 2 of a 1200 a day eating plan- 1500 on the days I exercise. I feel like I have lost weight but am not weighing myself till 4 weeks in. Exercise profile looks like this- sat -spin class, sun-5k road run, tues-spin class plus PT session(kettle bells), thurs-spin or body attack, plus PT session, fri- body pump and 5k treadmill run. I feel so much better for exercising. My PT is excellent- I have started to wear my heart rate monitor again- it's surprising how hard I have to work to maintain heart rate at around 180-190. I think before I wore it I was kidding myself about how hard I was working, especially t spin as I have been doing the classes for 3 years, so was "spin fit"
I'm aiming for a stone off by end of march.
Good luck everyone

SharkBite · 10/02/2012 18:19

Hi Digbert Smile. Are you joining us? Pull up your scales and welcome Grin

Well done on your fabulous exercise. I am in awe Shock. We are aiming for 4 30 min sessions a week which increase the heart rate, but this is a long term thing as we have been here since 2007 ish Hmm[Grin

As you can see if you have read the thread we do ok, but not fanatical as we need to live a life too!

I would say from what you have written that you are probably eating 1000 (or just under) a day with all that exercise, which is pretty hardcore. I am guessing at 5ft1 though that will be your limit if you are aiming to lose 2lb a week Sad

Are you using MyFitnessPal or FoodFocus to log your food?

onanightlikethis · 10/02/2012 19:33

Hi shark bite- I'm using myfitnesspal. Mostly I am trying not too eat it if I havnt worked out the calories from the packet first. I would love to join you. I'm not fanatical but need to keep focussed. This week will be hard as we are staying with family so out of control on the cooking front and obviously no gym. I am taking my trainers though so hoping for at least a couple of runs.
X

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 10/02/2012 22:32

Are you taking on newcomers then? I've been lurking on your thread cos I find it really motivates me to get off my butt when I see all you're doing.

Do you mind if I join in?

luckoftheirish · 11/02/2012 12:04

Welcome digbert and my child Smile

Did my usual 1.1km cross trainer, 5.3km run tho did it on a random setting so had different inclines throughout the run, and 5 on powerplate Smile

Did have one Wine last night and will prob have one tonight Blush but have ff it so hoping its still all good Smile

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 11/02/2012 13:04

Thanks LOTI!

Do we have an official weigh-in day? Did you say you aim to do four half hour sessions a week? Does your week run Monday to Sunday?

I was out last Saturday for a gorgeous six-course meal at a friend's house accompanied by a different wine with each course. The next day I was a little worse for wear and couldn't face the thought of dieting, so the whole weekend was a write-off, basically! I logged it and grossed a shocking amount of calories.

It was lovely, but I've been playing catch-up ever since. I tend to get on the scales every day and today is the first time that I've got back to the weight I was before that fateful weekend- so its taken a week.

luckoftheirish · 11/02/2012 13:16

We weigh in officially every Friday Smile sometimes there are sneaky weigh before Grin

I was weighing in every day and was getting frustrated so I am back to the weekly!

Yes we aim to do 4 x 30 mins sessions a week! I have the running bug atm so doing a little more! Also off to Dublin for two days tomorrow to trying to clock some up before rl takes over!

Half term is never good for weight loss Grin

SharkBite · 11/02/2012 14:08

Welcome MyChild Grin. With you and Digbert we have almost doubled our 'regulars' numbers!

Weigh in is Friday and week runs Friday am to Thurs pm. LOTI and I are using FoodFocus, Digbert MFP and Fjorn Low Carbing.

We usually come on here to report our exercise (a great motivator as you say) and sometimes report food wise, plus any slippages. Normally alcohol induced it does have to be said BlushGrin.

Do you have a target loss or weight? I managed to lose 4+ stones 2 years ago and am now trying to maintain between 10 and 10.7 - although that 10.7 barrier is being a bugger to break atm Hmm

This morning - 7k run, 2k row, 10 mins powerplate and then took DC swimming for 1/2 hr.

Great running LOTI, you are being super speedy! I managed 7k in 40 mins interspersing some sprints/hill walking and using 1k hand weights.

All food and red wine logged for today and within limits Smile

luckoftheirish · 11/02/2012 14:14

Well done shark :-) I broke the 9 min mile today doing 3 in 26.56 and 5km in 27.46 Smile

Need to work on distance now Smile

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 11/02/2012 19:57

Thanks for the welcome, guys. Seriously, your thread has got me off my butt this last couple of weeks. Actually posting will really motivate me...bring it on! I love the thread title too! Have all the other people who used to post gone AWOL or are they on other threads now?

LOTI, your 5K times are great! I'm signed up for a 10K in May. Last year I did it in just under an hour. I'm hoping to knock 5 minutes off that this time. I've had a whole year to prepare, but unfortunately haven't done any running since that race! Blush I start training on Monday.

Shark I'm impressed with your weight maintenance. It really is the hardest bit, so that's amazing.

I've got about 9lb to lose, though that's not set in stone and I'll re-evaluate as I get down there. I started at 10st 3 on the 19th of Jan and I'm now 9st 9lb, so 8lb in just over three weeks (the 8lb was lost in two weeks, because I didn't lose anything last week thanks to that 6 course meal!). I'm sticking to 1400 calories a day following Rosemary Conley but keeping track of calories using Nutracheck.

Right, so exercise: Yesterday I did 50 mins Nell McAndrew workout (an interval training-type thing- lots of jogging on the spot and millions of squats). Today I'm doing a 50 min Rosemary Conley workout.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 11/02/2012 19:59

shark Just re-read and saw your 7K time..that's really fast. Imagine what you could do in a race! Are you signed up for any?

SharkBite · 11/02/2012 20:31

Not signed up for any races as i have had an ACL (anterior crucite ligament) replacement in my knee and am VERY nervous of knackering it again. The treadmill is obviously 'safe' for me. I would like to do a 10k race, but not quite got there yet!

Very Envy of your weight Blush as i am on the upper end of my BMI, but at 10st (my lowest ever) i started to look a bit gaunt, so am going on the mirror rather than the scales.

We started as an offshoot from our antenatal thread in 2007, and we are the final hangers on Grin. But we plod along and are a great support, however few, so nice to welcome some others on board Smile

DO you have DC? How old are they?

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 11/02/2012 20:48

Wow, you've been going a long time...I think that's the key, eating well and exercising is a lifelong thing.

I'm small boned, so feel better at the lower end of the BMI.

I've got two DCs who are 9 and 7 (can't quite believe that!). What about you guys?

luckoftheirish · 11/02/2012 20:52

Sharky 2008!!!! GrinGrinGrin

Well done my child on the exercise Smile

I am drinking Wine

SharkBite · 11/02/2012 20:55

LOL, twas 2008. Soz. I blame the Wine

Mine are 5 and 3

Hic

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 11/02/2012 20:57

Hey, I feel left out...I want some Wine!

How old are yours LOTI?

luckoftheirish · 11/02/2012 21:01

3 and 6 :-) my Wine is delish.. Pours my child a Wine Grin we can be a bad influence too BlushGrin

SharkBite · 11/02/2012 21:09

Never LOTI Wink

FjorGynAndHotWater · 12/02/2012 09:51

I have two DC too, DD is 6 and DS is 3. In fact our 3yos were born within 4 days of each other! I've just been back to the antenatal threads to check that and realised that my DS weighed nearly FOUR POUNDS more than shark's and Loti's babies ShockShock so that gives some clues as to who ate all the pies during pregnancy... Grin

I've been on here since May 2009, just after I turned 40 and finally realised that if I didn't want to be fat for the rest of my life I really ought to do something about it. Lost about 2.5 stone pretty easily by that Christmas but then spent the next two years oscillating between 12 4 and 12 10 Hmm. I started sort-of low carbing in January because nothing else seemed to be working any more and it has been like a miracle! I have lost 10.5lb without much effort and feel like I might actually have found a way of eating that suits me.

Saying that, yesterday was a disaster Blush. DD decided it was party day so eded up eating 2 buns, a packet of hula hoops, cheese sandwiches, and buttery toast Blush I actually felt sick after so maybe will have learned my lesson for next time??? Back on the low carbs today so hopefully not too much damage done.

luckoftheirish · 12/02/2012 12:24

10.5lbs fjorny??? That is blinking amazing GrinGrinGrinGrin I didn't realise it was that much. Go girl Grin

Me and sharky's dds were born on the same day and I think almost the same weight? Lol Grin

Well just getting ready for Dublin Hmm so excited not! So there will be no gym for the nxt two days just a little walking so going to have to be really good. Ff is ok when I exercise but a disaster when I don't!

That said have been this am for the usual.. 1.1km cross trainer and 30 min run (3 miles in 26.43/5km in 27.34) so definitely getting faster! And 5 mins on powerplate Smile

FjorGynAndHotWater · 12/02/2012 13:02

Yes loti but 5.5 of that was put on in 2 weeks over Christmas so maybe that's why it was easier to shift! Although saying that in 2011 and 2010 it took me till March at least to lose the Christmas weight so am not complaining Grin

Have fun in Dublin Smile
