Apparently Dukan says you can have diet coke. As much as you like I think. Excellent. A whole new outlook on this diet is emerging.

Dastardly27 · 13/01/2012 18:13

oh yeah I know, mince. Thank God for that! Asked my son to get me a can last week otherwise I'd want to eat chocolate and he said 'is that because you're on your diarrhoea - I mean diet!' Bless him!lol SF jellies too - lifesaver. Went to the supermarket today and got my 0%flavoured yogurts. One supermarket here that does them in all flavours that I like.

minceorotherwise · 13/01/2012 18:40

Ooh I was still joking !!!! That aside what are SF jellies????

Dastardly27 · 13/01/2012 19:01

sugar free jellies.

drywhiteplease · 13/01/2012 19:49

drywhiteplease · 13/01/2012 19:50

Son v funny dastardly but don't mention that subject because the eagle has defo still not landed chez moi!

drywhiteplease · 14/01/2012 15:06

Oooops yippee it's the weekend....think I will celebrate with a few veggies!

Mollyfloss · 14/01/2012 20:37

Hello! I've been on the Dukan for a week and on another thread but drywhite kindly informed me of this Dukan thread - fab! I had about 10lbs to lose in total so it's not tons but they are those last few difficult ones. I did 2 days of the attack phase and the cruise diet for the past 6 days (2 cheat meals though). I'm not alternating with the pure protein days as I just have to eat some veg and I'm still breastfeeding (Dukan says breastfeeders should do the consolidation phase but I'm well established and the milk hasn't suffered). I've lost about 4 or 5lbs in the past 8 days. I hope by just staying on the cruise that I'll lose the next 4 or 5. :)

Mollyfloss · 14/01/2012 21:25

Just been reading back over the thread and am now very motivated to stay on track but I have a couple of questions. Am I altering the basic pemise of the diet by doing only the protein + veg days of the cruise phase? Should I still do some pure protein days? I know the ratio should be 1:1 but I think I would find that hard but will do it if I really need to Those of you in the cruise phase what ratio are you all doing?

Also I love having creamy sauces hot or cold with meat. So anyone got any good recipes with fromage frais or natural yoghurt. There is mentioning of frozen thai spices and other stuff like that. Would love to know!

Alouisee · 14/01/2012 22:13

I'm certain that if you're breastfeeding you need everyday to be a pv day. You can always restart the diet when you've finished breastfeeding.

I use fromage frais as a creamy sauce, either with chopped chives, diced cucumber or warmed through with a knorr chicken stock cube. The frozen mixed herbs are from Waitrose, they also have frozen diced shallots which pep things up.

I made a leek and onion soup today and it was lovely, rich and very satisfying.

I wish this diet had been more widely known about when I was feeding. It was my intense hunger that led to my weight gain in the first place. I could have gorged on steak and chicken rather than toast Blush

Dastardly27 · 15/01/2012 12:01

Molly, a friend of mine who has lost 3stones with Dukan told me that she mainly does just PV days. Keep going if it's working for you. Got my husband doing it too, had to force him initially and he wasn't strict for the first week, but he's lost almost a stone (had a STS for 3 days now) and you can really tell he's lost weight. Still a lot to lose but looking good! How did you make your soup, Alouisee?

drywhiteplease · 15/01/2012 12:23

Met up with a friend fri who commented on how well I looked !! Broke rule about not mentioning diet and then she leant over and started sniffing me ! Said that " apparently people on Dukan smell"!!!!!!!how rude!wish I had replied something cool like"I only smell of Chanel no 19" or "when we go to that health farm at the end feb at least I will be thin and ugly, you'll just be ugly!"
Having said that I do reek of garlic today having been a bit over enthusiastic with the squeeze garlic in wentworthmiller delicious meatballs.

minceorotherwise · 15/01/2012 12:35

Has anybody had a severe case of the 'c' word yet???

(constipation) :(

Alouisee · 15/01/2012 12:55

Leek & Onion soup: 1 onion sliced, 3-4 leeks sliced, 1 chicken stock cube.

Sauté the onion and leeks on a low heat with a teaspoon of olive oil and some black pepper. Put the lid on and leave for 20 minutes. Add enough water to cover the leeks and add the stock cube, simmer for about 20 minutes and either liquidise or stick blend.

Smoked mackerel pâté - three fillets of smoked mackerel, 2 tablespoons of low fat cottage cheese. Blitz for a few seconds.

Mollyfloss · 15/01/2012 13:49

drywhite : your friend was just jealous that you lost so much weight - ignore her comments. You'll be the last one laughing in your skinny jeans :)

I have completely fallen off the wagon today with breakfast & lunch on morning out in central London. I also weighed myself last night and due to my cheat meal on Friday night I put back on a couple of lbs. I'll spare you the details of what I ate but I am adamant to reset the button. Having only salad & protein for dinner later and then doing to pp day tomorrow and will try even to do 2 pp days then will try to do 1:1 with pp & p&v after that until wed 25th when I have a dinner with friends. So that's 10 days ahead of pure Dukan. Ladies I am going to be on here a LOT in need of some support! :)

minceorotherwise · 15/01/2012 14:16

Ooh I did the onion soup too, delicious.. Trying it with chicken and mushroom today ( so far have resisted the kids leftovers....) smoked mackerel sounds yum, thanks !
Drywhite, what a cheek!!!! Yes, just think on those skinny jeans!
Mollyfloss get back on that horse!!!!

Mollyfloss · 15/01/2012 15:13

Just doing an Ocado order now so I'm stocked up on Dukan friendly stufff. Question: where are some of you getting low sugar/low fat custard? Is it allowed by Dukan?

Alouisee · 15/01/2012 15:24

You're allowed custard powder, it's in the list of Tolerated Foods. If you like Thai herbs Molly chuck a packet of frozen Ginger, chilli & lemongrass in your basket.

Mollyfloss · 15/01/2012 15:26

Tks, Alouisee. Just found the thai frozen herb mix - even easier! :)

drywhiteplease · 15/01/2012 17:02

mince haven't you been logging my 'problem'?!!!the others have recommended a herbal thing called psyllium.after 4 days I think it is time for me to go to holland and Barrett.i share your pain.
mollyflossjust go back to pp.sure it will happen to us all at some point.

Dastardly27 · 15/01/2012 17:31

I have heard of the C word and was grand today. My husband is having no problems there at all. Oh, will definitely be making that soup.
Drywhite - good of your friend to notice you had lost weight but do agree that she was a wee bit rude too. Shame you mentioned Dukan as she'd obviously have been none the wiser. Still not mentioned to anyone about my diet. Like it that way too! About to have steak. Unsure about whether to have balsamic vinegar fried onions too. Just been to a birthday party with the worst behaved 3yr old in the world. Half expect to read about her in The Mail having just been found in the wild living with animals. She acted like one!

Dastardly27 · 15/01/2012 17:57

Do they do any Dukan food in England? One supermarket here sells Dukan bars (like the special K ones) and ready meals - think there are only four. Not tried the bars as only allowed one a day and more expensive than normal ones.

Mollyfloss · 15/01/2012 18:01

Dastardly: That 3 yr old sounds like the way my 2 yr old behaved today. Screaming her head off a absolutely everything. Not sure even with the terrible 2's etc it's normal...

Have done my ocado order and am stocked up with all Dukan friendly stuff for the week Regarding another C word, I'm thinking of doing ahem... a colonic.... good idea?

Dastardly27 · 15/01/2012 18:05

Molly - this child was just horrendous. We've all had screaming children but this was just something else. Snatching everything off everyone - even babies. Just screaming too. Apparently she is like it all the time. First time to see it in action. If my son had been like that I would never have taken him anywhere. He's 6 and he was wary of her!lol

Snapespeare · 15/01/2012 18:06

I had a chocolate biscuit! Just one. It was amazingly divine but far too sweet. Just happy I stopped at one. Back to normal now, really must take food out with me. Today I've had 2 0% day yogurt, some chicken...not sure yet what is for tea... shall check.the fridge when I get home I fancy something spicy!
