Well I suppose my 2 yr old isn't quite that bad today but she is definitely a handful but at least behaves herself at other people's houses. Today she didn't nap hence the endless tantrums since this afternoon. We've given in to Kung Fu Panda and then they're all off to bed early. Me too - big new start with Dukan in the morning so need the energy! (so much harder to diet when tired)

Mollyfloss · 15/01/2012 18:15

Oh Dastadly, I'm envious of you living in France while on this diet. I lived there for the best part of 10 years and think it would be much easier there. So much more acceptable to have the likes of a steak with green beans or salad in France. Not surprising that Dukan is French!

drywhiteplease · 15/01/2012 18:21

Dragged my nearly teenagers out for a walk today.......can you imagine the response ! But once I had unplugged them and we were all out in the frost it was ok.
Have just realised that I was kidding myself about my weight gain all this time.my scales are in pounds so I have to divide everything by 14 to understand in stones.i need to loose 17lbs !blimey. Still, at least I have lost 6 and am on track.

Dastardly27 · 15/01/2012 19:21

Oh where were you, Molly? Yeah, also don't have the temptation like in England. French choice in supermarkets is not as great as in ours. Sweet aisle isn't a patch on that in Asda or Sainsbury's and no midget gems here - well unless I go to WHSmith in Paris. Got some the other week and gave them to my husband to hide.

Drywhite - double what you have to lose and that's me. Grim isn't it?lol

drywhiteplease · 15/01/2012 19:36

Yes it is but remember what Kate said!!!!!

dandelionss · 15/01/2012 19:55

Hi everyone.I am a brand new Dukanite, hoping to lose what i can.I need to lose 6 stone really, but I'm a realist!
I am doing 5 day attack and today has been ok, felt stuffed all day!

Mollyfloss · 15/01/2012 20:39

Dandelionss: welcome!

Dasterly: Ilived in Paris and loved it.

drywhiteplease · 15/01/2012 21:19

Hello dandelionss .i am on day 8 (6 attack days) and have lost 6lb so far.it's an amazing diet and really works.go for it.and this is a lovely thread, has kept me going and given me loads of recipe ideas.

Alouisee · 15/01/2012 21:32

Hello Dandelionss, I'm on day 12 and I lost 9lbs in the first 9 days. This thread keeps me on the straight and narrow. I'm actually looking forward to Tuesday, its my week 2 weigh in. I'm already in my "medium" jeans, I've got a while to go til I'm in my "small" jeans. Scales are encouraging but clothes are firing my enthusiasm. When I've lost the first stone I'm going to reward myself with something wearable.

Good luck.

IWantToGoToThere · 16/01/2012 09:10

Hello all, I'm joining you today (despite a stinking cold, banging headache and raging case of conjunctivitis which would normally trigger a 'I can't possibly start a diet when I'm feeling so poorly, I need carbs to get better' excuse - but I'm COMMITTED!)

Stepped on the scale this morning for the first time in about a year to discover a horrifyingly high number, so it's Day 1 for me. I'd like to lose 52lb or 23.5kg so I'll be here a while. I'm going to do the attack phase for 7 days - Dukan says 6 but the extra day won't hurt me and I'm sure I can manage it.

Have just had 0% greek yoghurt for breakfast and sipping a Starbucks skinny latte at my desk.

I'll just go back now and read the rest of the thread so I can 'get to know you' (I'm such a good employee!).

Hope everyone's winning.

dandelionss · 16/01/2012 09:32

Day 2 .didn't sleep very well and woke up this morning feeling weak miserable and a bit headachey and also have got conjuntivitis .The last thing i felt like doing was 'bottom bounces'.Anyway forced myself to do it and the other prescribed exercises and felt a lot more energised.had grilled turkey bacon and poached egg for breakfast and feeling satisfied at the moment.
i m wondering what people take for packed lunch on attack phase?

dandelionss · 16/01/2012 09:34

..and welcome Iwantto i am a newbie too -we can compare notes

Dastardly27 · 16/01/2012 10:16

Morning all! Had second WI and down 2.9kg. Could have been more but I was a fool and had wine at the weekend!!!! Husband doing it too and had a STS for 3rd day in a row and then confessed he'd eaten a chocolate bread bun and a packet of 4 mini biscuits last night. Said to him we have to have a no cheat week. Was actually going really well last week too. Well it did go well, apart from the wine. Did want a bag of crisps or something BUT I had turkey slices and beetroot. Ah well, this is a new week. Walking back from school and am about to walk to it. Should up the exercise ante this week. Going to try the meatballs for dinner.

minceorotherwise · 16/01/2012 10:47

Hello ladies
Drywhite, love your terminology!! Hoping it gets better now I am off attack phase, think it was the eggs....
Molly, colonic? You are a braver woman than I
Dastardly, I too had little glass of red yesterday but boy did I enjoy it!!! Apart from that have been v.good
Midget gems ???!! Can you have them ??!! Also, sugar free jellies or any allowed sweets actually - which specific ones can I have ( getting very excited) in sainsbury or waitrose??

Dastardly27 · 16/01/2012 10:56

SF jellies - a definite yes. All flavours. Midget gems - a definite no, more's the pity. Not actually craving them either. A friend brought back a bag of maynard's wine gums for me and I didn't touch them on Saturday. Still unopened in the fridge. Chewing gum - yes. Any other SF sweets, I don't know. Right, heading into the kitchen now to make the meatballs.

IWantToGoToThere · 16/01/2012 12:52

Dandelionss, I am having M&S sliced chicken (I find it less dry than other supermarket brands so easier to choke down) and some M&S prawns. I have decided to be good to myself this week because I'm not well and buy nice PP foods but I can't carry on buying M&S food or it will bankrupt me.

My office is freezing so having cold food is not helping. What hot PP lunches do people have? Also, has anyone found Dukan-friendly food in Pret, Eat etc?

minceorotherwise · 16/01/2012 16:31

When you say sugar free jellies, do you mean sugar free jelly? Or actual sweets? I couldn't find any in sainsburys, maybe M&S ?

Dastardly27 · 16/01/2012 17:19

Mince - just got a packet: Hartley's Sugar Free jelly. Flavours are lime, orange, strawberry, blackcurrant. Come in sachets, 2 joined together. I use old yogurt pots to make them and get 4 from each sachet. They are about 40p or so for the two. I find them in Asda and Sainsbury's where they have the ready made jellies and the custard. I need to put a jelly SOS out to one of my friends. Can't get them here.

drywhiteplease · 16/01/2012 17:21

Who mentioned colonic? You will be relieved to hear the eagle has at last bloody landed!
Hello iwant
So far what I do on work days is eat the galette piled high with cottage cheese or smoked mackerel pâté or SMoked salmon pate for breakfast.....wierd I know but it is so filling and keeps me going until 11.30 ish. I am addicted to activia vanilla yog so take one to wk with some delicious king prawns (100g)with lime juice and pepper or some really dry chicken or turkey breast that has the same effect as concrete and fills you up .

drywhiteplease · 16/01/2012 17:24

Ooh had not finished....you could also make a job lot of wentworthmiller's meat balls and take them for lunch...just don't go as mad as I did with the garlic, your colleagues won't thank you for it.
The key for me of this diet is not to feel hungry so I just cook big quantities of stuff so I always have something Dukan in fridge.

Dastardly27 · 16/01/2012 17:45

Yeah, I made the meatballs. Not great. Forgot the tomato purée and put a wee too much garlic in. Think might use a whole egg next time. Thinking of making this mackeral paté but no cottage cheese here so am wondering if my 3% cream cheese might do the same job. Yeah, the trick is to have something readily available in the fridge or cupboard for when the munchies strike. Crab sticks, prawns, bacon and egg quiche. Slices of turkey are good too - can only get it sliced like ham here.

minceorotherwise · 16/01/2012 17:49

Aha crab sticks !!! I really wanted to get these to snack on, but the only ones I could find have sugar and carbs in them ? Is there a specific variety that is Dukan friendly?
Jelly is jelly !!! Thanks for clarifying !

Dastardly27 · 16/01/2012 17:58

Oh gosh, don't know. I just buy crabsticks available here. Not thought of looking at them to see what was in them. Did with my tinned tomatoes. Just been and looked at mine and 1.6gms for carbs in each stick. Am in Dukan land so will just continue to eat them as he says I can!lol

Alouisee · 16/01/2012 18:02

I eat any old crab stick too - about 10 today Blush

drywhiteplease · 16/01/2012 18:02

P 60 in book says despite having some carbs crab sticks are ok
