Morning :)

ladymuckbeth I went to you tube and did a search on Dukan before and after, but any fat to thin transformation lifts my spirits. Found myself watching an infomercial this morning just to see the transformations Blush.
I went to see my sister at the weekend, haven't met up in about 3 months and all I could talk about was food, diets, metabolism .if I can use you lot to drone on at I think my family would be eternally grateful.

0TTers · 10/07/2012 07:46

Oops, posted too soon.

Boo81, cauliflower rice is raw cauliflower shredded in processor then microwaved for 4 minutes. Think I over shredded mine and it had the consistancy of cous cous but was still nice to have next to chilli to mix in, made my plate look normal! Will try courgette next week, was thinking of doing a courgette soup as it was.

I wonder if I'll be able to do the protein Thursdays too Wentworth, it's a struggle doing the alternating in Cruise and I've only been on diet for 8 days as it is!

Boo81 · 10/07/2012 12:46

Thanks OTTers, I will give that a try when I switch to cruise.

Day 2 for me and I feel quite good. I always get an instant boost when I cut down carbs. Just goes to show how bad they make me feel when I over do them!

Breakfast was a Mullerlite yogurt and a babybel
Lunch will be left over roast chicken from last night. Am going to venture out now and get some fat free fromage frais for afters.

Dinner will probably be some chicken/salmon combo as both need to be eaten today

I (stupidly or cleverly- you decide!) ordered some size 12 clothes online last night. I'm currently a 14 but hoping that they will motivate me!

WentworthMillerMad · 10/07/2012 15:16

Hello! Have kept myself VERY busy today. Am a teacher in Scotland so am off work but it does mean I can find the time to walk.
Weighed myself and am 11lb10 so lost 4lb overnight! Think I may have lost a
Chin in the process and do feel less bloated.

Breakfast was 0% Greek yog with vanilla and sweetener
Latte

Lunch 2 poached eggs and turkey rashers
Snacked on cup tea, diet orangina, gherkin, cube low fat cheese.
Dinner is marinated chicken grilled with cottage cheese.

I can have veg tomorrow and can't wait!

Ooh, lovely to see it busy... Hello everyone :)

I'm on my last day of attack and have lost 6lbs in the first 4 days. AND, if you don't mind, I'm going to give myself a huge pat on the back for my eating today!!! I was at an all day meeting in a hotel - lunch included , and ate a little bit of beef off of a pasta salad, a couple of chicken satay sticks (probably not great but better than all the lovely sandwiches and wraps on offer!), and scraped the salmon off some rye bread. That was all I had, and I've now got home and munched a huge pile of chicken tikka cos I was so hungry!! I'm a little bit smug and proud of myself Blush

Now... What to have for dinner? Maybe omelette... any suggestions for nice fillings on a pp day??

And, veg tomorrow!! Feel strangely nervous about it Confused

franticallyjugglinglife · 10/07/2012 18:45

Wow, Wentworth... 4lbs in one night! Fab loss :)

And Boo, I'd love to be buying even size 14s! Envy But I do the same... have lots of size 16 that I can't get into, but I reckon another 1/2 stone and I'll be in them... can't wait!!

WentworthMillerMad · 10/07/2012 20:08

Hello!
Omlette with tinned salmon and chives? Well done at the meeting, as long as you ditch the bread it's all good. I think you have do 'diluted Dukan' in those cases.
Attack days over - will casserole some beef with lots of garlic, onion and carrots in the allocated red wine for tomorrow with green beans!

Peppermint tea now to fill me up. Sugar cravings today were evil.....

OP posts:
Boo81 · 10/07/2012 20:32

Hmmmm, ok after feeling pretty good all day I got home today and gorged on a whole pack of turkey ham. Whoops. Feel really hungry all of a sudden. Having a small chicken breast and a salmon fillet for dinner. Is that too much?

Franticallyjugglinglife - well done on resisting the carbs today. I think that would have broken me!

WentworthMillerMad - the thought of a glass of red wine has me salivating. I'd gladly take that before chocolate or pasta right now!

WentworthMillerMad · 10/07/2012 20:46

Hi Boo no that's exactly what you should be doing - go crazy on the protein!
Easier said than done when it's turkey v box malteesers! Well done!
Luckily my sister arrives tomorrow and she is the low carb queen often seen with a vodka soda in hand!

OP posts:
Boo81 · 10/07/2012 21:04

Hmmm, vodka soda. I'd settled for that!

I'm trying on wedding dresses on thursday evening so might go for a sneaky drink afterwards with my friends. I'm sure a vodka sods won't do too much harm. I'll probably need it trying to shoehorn my size 14 ass into a size 10 sample dress :(

franticallyjugglinglife · 10/07/2012 21:34

Wentworth... you must have ESP! I ended up having omelette with smoked trout and spring onion (close to your suggestion - but don't know if I'm strictly allowed spring onions!). And very nice it was too :)

Am going out for dinner tomorrow... Wish me luck! At least I can have veg.

0TTers · 11/07/2012 07:51

You can have spring onions (am having tonight with beef in soy, ginger and chilli - yum!)

Think I'll have to start checking this out in the evening, that's when you're all here.

WentworthMillerMad · 11/07/2012 08:19

Hello!
Boo - I found the odd gin and slim etc didn't effect my weight loss but it's not really allowed on Dukan. I am a cheats Dukan though!

Let us know how dinner goes frantically! I noticed wagamamma have started doing beef spicy salads without carbs. I think this low carb is massive right now. Probably because it works! My husband has started dr bruffa and he loves it.
I eat a small spring onion etc on PP days as per book but only 1! More on PV days! OTT it's great for the breath ha ha!
Just going to have my latte - skimmed of course!

OP posts:
WentworthMillerMad · 11/07/2012 08:20

Ps boo when is the wedding! How exciting and a real target!

OP posts:
Boo81 · 11/07/2012 08:41

I'm a right little Dukan cheat too! I have a couple of Babybel or low fat cream cheese every day. I think I would crack without it.

I know wine is very carb heavy but what about bubbly? Its definitely low calorie but is it Dukan friendly too?

Not heard of Dr Bruffa. Going to check it out now! I tried the Idiot Proof Diet last year. I had been on Dukan for a couple of months and was getting sick of it. I think its too high fat for me though. It allows you full fat cream and cheese but my problem is portion control so I ate them by the bucket load!

Our wedding is in March so I really need to get a move on with the dress. To be honest I've been putting off trying on dresses as I'm so afraid of hating what I see :(

Wommer · 11/07/2012 09:53

Hi all,
I've previously done quite well on the Dukan... But had a baby 6 weeks ago and now have about 2st to loose.
I'm breastfeeding though, guess this mean that the attack phase is out, but does anyone know if the cruise phase would be ok?

ladymuckbeth · 11/07/2012 09:53

Yikes, I'm a Dukan cheat too Blush Wine does tend to slow my loss but I'm afraid to say sometimes I just have it anyway. Losing much slower this time round but last time I was living in a social desert Switzerland and never went out really, this time I'm back in London and finding it a lot harder to fit this in with 'real life'.

I think I need to re-read the book and get some structure in - one of the things I'm guilty of is spending most of my time having Attack days, because on the other days I'll have done something wrong (like have wine) and think I need to make up for it by being extra-strict afterwards.

WentworthMillerMad · 11/07/2012 11:59

Hi wommer - I really don't know about Dukan and bf but I do understand wanting to shed the baby padding. Maybe cruise with plenty of veg.

Boo and lady - I gave up the booze to start with but noticed dry white wine, prosecco and gin and slim were ok for me. My problem is when I crack the wine I tend to crack the kettle chips / pop some garlic bread in the oven blah blah.
If I drink I Personally can get away with it as long as I stick to the rest INCLUDING the half hour brisk walk every day.
My best Dukan cheats are - thin slices of Brie, Parma ham with fat removed, few olives, brazil or almonds but NEVER cashew nuts as they are v v hard in carbs.
Macadamia nuts are v low carb as well, just don't eat too many.

Lunch today is huge spinach and rocket salad with sardines.

Snack is artichokes / few almonds

Dinner my beef in red wine without too much salt.

I weigh 11 7lb today so 7lb in 2 days!! I know it will slow down dramatically now but I feel so much better!

franticallyjugglinglife · 11/07/2012 20:27

Well done went Wentworth... That's a fab loss :)

I had my first pv day (-8lbs on attack... Result!), and I never thought a lettuce leaf would taste so good!! Having steak and roasted veg for dinner. Nom nom.

Boo, you've got loads of time lovey! The flip side is that you will do what I did - find a dress (I still had about a stone to lose) and be so happy with it that all further weight loss went right out of the window. And I still had the best day of my life :) It will be just fine.

WentworthMillerMad · 12/07/2012 09:21

Just about to have my latte, still on track.
Am having a PV day again as I don't notice much weight loss difference from pp days.
Will pp tomorrow.
Having really lean grilled chicken tonight with a cherry tomato ratatouille! Yum!
Tuna salad for lunch!

OP posts:
Boo81 · 12/07/2012 09:33

Morning! Day 4 of Attack for me. Weighed myself and I'm down 3lbs. Hardly a massive loss is it? How do you girls lose 7 or 8lbs so quickly? Maybe I need to be even stricter.

Tonight is wedding dress trying-on night! Fingers crossed I will be able to get the tiny sample size over my head at least! I don't understand why they can't have a range of sample sizes :(

Wommer - I think it would be best to speak to your doctor or community nurse before doing the Attack stage of Dukan. I'm sure your body needs a certain amount of carbs/sugars to make breastmilk.

Wommer · 12/07/2012 09:59

Boo81 - thanks, I'll have a chat with them. Might just cut wheaty carbs to begin with and keep potatoes and brown rice.

Re super fast weight loss in attack. From my experience last time you actually cannot drink enough water. Drink loads, and then drink some more. The weight really should fall off then.

Boo81 · 12/07/2012 11:00

Thanks for the tip Wommer, I'm chugging down a glass of water as I type!

Maybe just cutting out refined carbs would be ok for you, but still have wholegrains and rice. How you finding motherhood? Is this your first?

Wommer · 12/07/2012 11:59

Refined! That was the word I was looking for! Smile

Yes he's my first. It's a bit overwhelming some alot of the time but he's brilliant. Can't wait until he's a bit more interactive though - smiling laughing etc.

Good luck with the water - definitely made a difference to me Smile

franticallyjugglinglife · 12/07/2012 17:19

Yep - I second the water tip. I've been drinking 2L+ per day and my losses are good so far. I have also been really really strict - I just know what I'm like, if I let a little bit go, then it will creep and before I know it I'll be having the odd bottle of wine instead of a glass Grin

But I just have to say, I just can't believe this diet. I know it's early days for me, but I've not been hungry and on day 7 I'm 9lbs down. I have craved veg though - and not even for the taste, it's a texture thing for me. But I can handle that if the lbs keep coming off. I guess it will slow down now I'm in cruise...

...and I got into my size 16 jeans (just!) this morning :):):) Woop woop!!

Good luck with the wedding dress fittings Boo - I'm sure you're going to enjoy it much more than you think :)

Wommer, I'd check it out with the Dr too, but there won't be any harm in giving up refined carbs. And I have always found giving up bread really helps as well. Congrats on your baby.... I love the newborn stage - very jealous of all your newborn snuggles!! [jealous]
