Hi poorbuthappy,

You can register for the website to find out how long they recommend you do attack, cruise etc for, it doesn't cost anything. But I don't think you need to. The book gives you all the information you need.

Big lapses are not good, Coroico! However they happen. And on this diet its hard to just have a little lapse :) I find it especially hard when eating out or at other people's houses. I have no idea how I'm to alternate PV and PP days next week. If only it was alternating carbs and non-carbs days then I might have a chance :)

Coroico97 · 30/04/2012 11:58

Hi everyone, Poorbuthappy with tuna and cottage cheese muffins, what are the proportions? Would like to try. My top tip with the galette is to make three small ones, cover with fromage frais or Greek yogurt, the smoked salmon, lemon juice and salt and pepper. Really really nice, and maybe expensive but fills you up for hours and hours! I always have that for breakfast. Feel bad as lapsed sat night and the at friends yesterday. Had roast but no pots, but had slice of cake!! Aargh! No dinner and then back on track today. Going to Pizza Express tonight but think can have salad Nicoise with no dough balls or potatoes!

How's it going studyingstudying??

drywhiteplease · 30/04/2012 21:20

I'm with you coroico97 I also love marmite and cottage cheese on my galette....mmmmm

2Bubbas · 02/05/2012 10:49

Hi everyone!

How are u guys getting on? So nice to read more posts on here :)

I am soooooo annoyed!! I have been stagnating for about 8 days now!!! How frustrating! I have been following diet, no cheats, and NOTHING!! Arrrrrghhh!! :(

I had a little cheat 2 Sunday's ago with a little slice of choccy cake and did PP for two days to make up for it, lost 1lb and after that nothing! Started alternating 1day PP then PV, didn't lose anything so just completed two PP days and still NOTHING!!

What to do??? Shall I do another PP day today or go back to PV??? Arrrrrrrreghhhhh help! Want to lose another 18lb, have lost 34lbs so far. I'd appreciate any advice guys, thank u xx

studyingstudying · 02/05/2012 12:31

Hello everyone, so nice to see new people on this thread (of course I am a newbie too, so nice to have company!)

2Bubbas, I really think you need advice from someone more knowledgeable than me...I am still struggling to complete Attack and get onto Cruise! Hopefully someone else will come along with advice. The only think I could say would be to persevere with the PP and PV alternation - I think if you got stuck on PP every day that wouldn't be good for your body? There is a reason Mr Dukan only lets us do Attack for a couple of days at the beginning.

Coroico, I made the muffins using:
1 tin of tuna, drained,
1 tub of cottage cheese,
2 eggs,
6 tablespoons of oatbran (kept adding it til I thought the mix looked like a muffin/cake mix consistency)
Then put it into 9 holes in a silicon muffin tray and it made 9 not very deep, but quite dense muffins. Then I can eat 3 muffins to give me my daily oatbran intake.

Well done for going to Pizza Express and avoiding the dough balls! I'm impressed.

I have been slightly off track recently - sugar though, not carbs. It seems like I have a wee cheat and then crave sugar for the rest of the day...a friend had brought jelly babies into the office yesterday and offered me one. Aaggh, I then ate 6 or more over the course of the day!

I am back on track and once again DETERMINED today. I am going to a wedding next Sunday, so need to make sure a dress in my wardrobe fits this coming weekend, else I need to go shopping!

Coroico97 · 02/05/2012 21:49

Thanks studyingstudying for the recipe. I will try it tomorrow. Went to Pizza Express and not only had salad Nicoise without dough balls, but also took my own salad dressing, from the Dukan book!! I got a few funny looks! Was such a nice treat and once I had told myself firmly that I wasn't having any pizza WHATEVER! I enjoyed it Hmm.

2bubbas - oh you poor thing. Nightmare. Sometimes the only thing that keeps me going is seeing the needle on the scales gradually (verrrry gradually!) go down! I would suggest maybe only weighing yourself a couple of times a week. My weight varies a lot day to day and it can just be a bit depressing whe it goes up or stagnates!! I should stick to P and PV. Keep at it. Good luck. Let us know how it's going! :)

2Bubbas · 04/05/2012 12:11

Hello

How are you guys getting in? Thank u for your support :) this is why I love this thread :) I am pleased to say that the scales finally moved today! Wohooo! Down 1lb so am soo happy, however, I'm not going to get too excited as I bet the scale will be up again tomorrow! Well let's see.

I did 4 days of pp in the end, just couldn't bottle eating veg when I didn't lose, but I don't think that was the right thing to do.

How are you guys getting on? Studyingstudying, you could stock up in sugar free jelly, sugar free fizzy drinks and maybe also fat free cocoa powder for all those sugar cravings. Some people even eat sugar free sweets although I'm not sure if this is allowed.
How are you getting on with prepping yourself for the dress?

Coroico, wow, welldone in taking your own salad dressing! That is soo good as I yet have never done that. And lol about the pizza, I probably would've done the same thing! :) how much more do u have to lose? Can't remember if you've already mentioned it before :s

Hope u guys are getting on okay :) xx

Debeez · 05/05/2012 09:25

Hello everyone, loved reading this thread. On second day of Dukan.

Yesterday was rubbish, I was out and about taking car to garage and seeing friend and her new baby so ended up surviving on Peppermint tea at coffee shop as there was nothing I can eat. Ready to eat seafood from Tescos and ready cooked chicken for lunch and tea. Not ideal. Ended up with an awful headache. :(

Today I shall be more organised. I have had grilled low fat bacon with all white bits cut off before cooking and boiled eggs for breakie. Have prawns for lunch and meatballs for tea. Going to have to pull myself away from the cakes and pies I'm baking for DP and DS!

I don't have the book or the online plan, the food itself is costing so much so I'm working on what I know from online reading and all your what I ate today posts are so helpful.

Hope the scales are good to you all.

studyingstudying · 05/05/2012 12:24

Hi everyone,

So, for me, the no sugar thing is still really difficult. That's what I struggle most with. I really hate the taste of artificial sweeteners too which doesn't help...so I don't like yoghurts or jelly with sweetener. I do like no-sugar diluting juice though! Maybe I should start drinking more of that.
2Bubbas where do you get your fat-free cocoa from? I assume its not just normal Bournville stuff?? I might be able to have a hot choc then :)

I fit in the dress!! Hurrah! I tried it on this morning. I need to continue to be good this week though. The scales haven't moved for me at all this week, but as I've been cheating with sugar I am not surprised.

Debeez, I think eating while you're out and about is very difficult! Especially in coffee shops with yummy cake... Well done you for sticking with it though - I hope your head feels better soon.

Coroico97 · 05/05/2012 19:16

Hi everyone
studyingstudying that is so amazing you fit into the dress! Hooray! Doesn't it make it all worthwhile? I can almost do up a pair of shorts I couldn't wear for the last 20 years (seriously!). It just feels so much better not dragging round so much flab anymore. Although, having said that, there is still some to go! Wedding must be this weekend. Hope it doesn't rain. You will look fab whatever the weather. Don't say no to any Champagne going!

debeez keep going. It takes a little while to work out the best things for you to eat, ie, what suits you when, and what fills you up, and what is affordable. How are you eating your oatbran? Have you made the galettes yet? Basically it's 1.5 tbsps oatbran, 1.5 tblsps fromage frais and an egg. Mix it up, and put 3 dollops into non-stick pan. Leave until brown and turn over. I have that with more fromage frais on top and then smoked ham. Really tasty and will fill you up for hours. Highly recommend. Eat lots of yogurt, tins of tuna. There's a recipe a bit further down for nice sounding muffins with tuna. Have run out of cottage cheese so not made yet but sound nice. It is possible to do this inexpensively but it takes a bit of thought! Hmm. You can have low fat mince too. There are some nice recipes around.

I am afraid I shall be hitting the wine tonight but don't tell anyone. Wink I'm doing okay but it's fatal to run out of stuff, which I have just about done! Am due a supermarket trip to stock up on ham (snore) and yogurt (snore).

Debeez · 05/05/2012 19:40

Hi Coroico97

Not got my bran yet. Had lean mince made into meatballs tonight. Feeling so much better today thank goodness. Had to get round the whole "diet means hungry" thing. Ate till I was full, just ate the right things. :o

studyingstudying · 07/05/2012 20:28

Hi Coroico,
Yes, it feels great :) I just need to keep on the PP and PV this week til the wedding at the weekend.

Am still craving sugar though...did anyone else experience this?? Does it goes away ever?? I really need help...lol.

Debeez, I agree that you should get some oatbran - I really think thats whats keeping me from craving carbs. When I have the galette or a tuna muffin then I feel like I'm having something that will keep me satisfied.

I am going to London for work this week - and staying in a hotel / eating out. Has anyone any advice for that?? I think I might have to stock up on ham/chicken slices and keep them in my handbag!

Coroico97 · 07/05/2012 21:22

debeez snacking is tricky. Nothing really works for me. Just have to make sure I have substantial meals because otherwise I just can't resist whatever I can lay my hands on! Sliced ham and tubs of cottage cheese. Philadelphia extra light in rolls of ham quite nice. Have to say the galettes are my saving grace. Tricky when travelling though. Lots of steak on expenses??! Wink

studyingstudying keep going until the wedding! I now have a couple of pairs of trousers that are now uncomfortable as they are so big. That spurs me on! Sugar cravings are bad for me too. I still have half a spoon in coffee because I just couldn't get used to it. Get some sugar free fruit salads from sainsburys, or sugar free Werthers. Not bad and they help. Watch out for epic farts though if you eat too many!!! Blush

studyingstudying · 09/05/2012 00:58

Right, am off to London tomorrow, so I won't be on this thread for a few days. Wish me luck for trying to stay on track while away from home! Think I'll be buying lots of veg/meat in M&S!

jan2011 · 09/05/2012 20:14

starting tomorrow, nervous!

Coroico97 · 09/05/2012 23:10

How's London studying?? Haven't weekened I trust?? No sneaky croissants??

Coroico97 · 09/05/2012 23:12

Hi jan2011 good luck tomorrow! It's worth it. Only diet I've ever stuck to. Lost 3/4 stone so far in about 6 wks. Let us know how u get on on your first day!

jan2011 · 10/05/2012 06:47

thanks. ive just realised that my breakfast yoghurts have 10grams of sugar (alpro soya) and i can't change them yet - i still have some and dh ordered a repeat online shop last night! do you think it would be ok if i had a carby breakfast but mostly protein rest of the day? the other thing that is coming later in the shop is the Big Bad Fruits. pears and apples. i was thinking if i ate them along with breakfast would that be the best way?

if you are going to have some carbs anyway, is it better to have them on their own (ie within 2-3 hours of a protein meal) or to combine them into a normal meal.

dh doesn't eat fruit, only me. and i won't be able to let them go to waste.

im looking forward to this diet - i will have to make a lot of changes such as eating more eggs and fish, ill have to drink a lot more water as my body isn't used to disgesting a lot of protein. im encouraged by how well some of you are doing. i think this diet appeals better to me because it isn't high fat like some of the others.

studyingstudying · 10/05/2012 22:13

Hey,

I'm back, and I managed to stick to the diet while away! Yay me! Lots of skinny lattes and chicken/salmon purchasing in M&S, but I survived.
Actually I think I found it easier as I wasn't surrounded by the wrong kind of food all the time, like I am at home. Hmm. Maybe I should ask to work away more often :)

Oh, I also found the fat reduced cocoa powder in Tesco! Hot chocolates here I come.

Jan, good luck with starting this diet! Perhaps you can use this first week, while you use up yoghurts and fruit, as a kind of practice to ease yourself into the diet? I think if I was going to have carbs anyway, I would have them all at one meal so that you're getting used to your two other meals being protein only.

jan2011 · 11/05/2012 07:25

hi studying!

what are you studying? good on you for sticking to the diet when you are away. im trying to tell myself its not a diet its a style...lol everytime i talk to myself i say i'm eating dukan style - just to help my brain!

M&S salmon salads are very nice form what i can remember from last summer

thanks for your encouragement. yes im going to eat them till they run out then i will get natural yoghurt - i think ill still stick with soy products though. i actually feel tons better even from one day - i didn't have that anxious edgy feeling i usually have during the day or feeling like should i or shouldn't i eat some snacks....felt much more contented in my mind. probably the effect sugar was having on me. i also slept better. anyone else experienced this?

ii am preparing myself for the 3-5 day carb crash ive heard about though. i heard you feel rotten at this time, and generally feel better after a week. im hoping ill get through it!

studyingstudying · 11/05/2012 20:00

Hi Jan,

I study physics and am busy writing my thesis at the moment - I can't wait to be finished!!

I'm glad that you're already feeling better. I went through the carb slump and had a headache/felt grim for ~3 days, probably days 2-5 of eating this way, but I've been fine since. In actual fact I haven't had a migraine at all since I've started this, and that is unusual, normally I'd have had at least one or two. Long may it continue!

I am off to a wedding tomorrow, so its a day of planned cheating :) I need to make sure that its only tomorrow I cheat though, no carrying it through to Sunday however hungover I am!

drywhiteplease · 11/05/2012 23:59

Hi all...old hand here. Remember me? Started in Jan, now on consolidation.

Some good news!

  1. The diet is amazing
  2. Last w/e had a bottle of wine Sat and Sun and no weight gain (just to give you hope!!!) I did watch what I ate though
  3. Weight still comes off a little bit on consolidation.

studying I want to make the muffins but how much is a pot of cottage cheese?weigh?big pot or little pot?

I agree that mastering the galette is the key to success .I still have one most days for breakfast.

Crab sticks are great snacks.

WentworthMillerMad · 12/05/2012 11:55

Sooooo glad this thread is still alive! Hello to you all!
I started the thread way back and I am still on a low carb mon - fri and "eating what I want at weekends" although I do still have gin and slimline, cheese without the crackers, dark chocolate etc etc and have kept the weight off.
I will be back as I want to Attack before my holiday and attack the minute I get back and not fall into old habits! See you all in about 3 weeks!
Keep going, it really really works!

I am so grateful to everyone, (I am thinner than I have ever been and after 15 yrs can get into my wedding dress again)...and glad to hear you have successfully kept it off. I will get some dark chocolate, stock up on slimline tonic and happy to hear about cheese which I have missed most of all.
