Well they looked so good and clotted cream too!
Not too much damage done all in all.....a cheat once in a while seems to be ok, but nice to be back home to my own fridge now.

Hi everyone.

I'm new to this thread and am after some advice please. I have been doing the dukan diet since beginning of feb this year and managed to lose 2 stone in two months but have since fallen of the wagon and am finding it extreeeeeemely hard to get back on track! I'm currently on the cruise phase and am due to complete this by end of June.

I still have 1& half stone to lose, but can't get back on track after cheating for 11 days!! Thought I would do a 3 day attack which I started in Sunday but ended up cheating last night and tonight with choccy!! :(

Have any of you cheated in the diet? If so, how did you get back on track and did it ruin your diet? Did you still continue to lose once you got back on track?? HELP please!!! xx

drywhiteplease · 18/04/2012 08:12

2bubbas can't offer any advice apart from usual which is just get your will power back! You have done so well up till now (2 stones is fantastic) would be ashame to jack it all in now. I do find pp days ( I'm on the consolidation so do one once a week so can't really complain) really boring now but I keep thinking about the size I am now etc and that keeps me on track. Dieting is hard though ESP when you love food!
Get back to it and get rid of the chocolate!!Grin

2Bubbas · 18/04/2012 14:09

Hi dwp!

Thank u soo much for your reply :) I've been doing pp since Sunday but kept having chocolate or something sweet every evening! But today ive vowed that I won't ruin all my hard work and plus my biggest motivation is that I want to be at my ideal weight for summer, back to a size 8/10. I've just started TOM so that explains the sweet cravings and weak willpower!

But congrats to u for getting so far in your diet! How good u must feel by reaching the consolidation phase! I can't wait to reach that point! How did u find your cruise phase? Did u cheat at all and if so, did u recover quite easily?

I LOVE this forum, as it has all u lovely ladies with all the experience of the diet and are true inspirations! xx

drywhiteplease · 18/04/2012 17:36

2bubbas thanks.i am a big fan of this thread which is why I went on MN in th first place (have since discovered SAndB which is compulsive and expensive!Grin). I have been on since I started Dukan Jan 8th (date etched in memory).... Feel people must be sick of me!!!!!!!! by the time I had done a week of pp I was desperate for veg, which I missed so much. I found cruise ok, just focused on getting to the pv days. I did pv sat and sun (tue andthurs) so I could eat " normally" with my family, then did m,we'd,fri as my pp days.

There are excellent tips from other posters about how to make food more interesting which helped a lot.

For sweet cravings I have been buying sugar free sweets which I keep in the car. Sugar free jelly and activia vanilla yogurts are good too( although I had so much sf jelly it makes me feel sick even thinking about it!) a sugar free drink helped too. One poster suggested mixing natural yog with sweetener and cinnamon which I love.
Also wait rose frozen Thai herbs were an excellent tip.

With regards cheating......it was easy in January as we did not go out after Christmas much. I have been v strict but have cheated occasionally when round at people's houses for dinner. But I always followed a cheat with a pp day. On cruise I think you are allowed 2 (?) celebration meals a week (as long as thy aren't one directly after another) and they involve wine (yippee!!) and cheat I think.

I lost 16lb and am back to size 8/10.... My wedding weight. I am delighted. WineThere are people who have a lot more to loose than me and I think that is hard.

Good luck.Grin

P.s apparently g and t has no carbs so in an emergency I had one of those too!!!Grin

studyingstudying · 18/04/2012 21:45

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this thread, fairly new to MN and new to Dukan! (Please be nice :) )

I started the attack phase today and hope to use this thread for support and advice, and to keep me accountable!

So far today I have eaten:
2 scrambled eggs (am I allowed 2 eggs in one day??)
LOTS of cups of black tea
A rather large grilled steak, with some mustard
Skimmed milk latte
0% greek yoghurt with oatbran and sweetener

What do you think? I didn't really like the taste of sweetener but don't know if I could cope with plain greek yoghurt...

Anyway, I'm just really wanting to say hi to you all!

drywhiteplease · 18/04/2012 22:05

Hi studying good luck.
You are allowed a max 2 eggs a day.
Have you tried Activia vanilla yogurts?
You can have cottage cheese if you don't like sweetener.
Crab/seafood sticks are good fillers for pp days.......you can make dip with nat yog for them.
I used to make smoked salmon pate by blending poached salmon, some smoked salmon, couple spring onions, lemon juice and black pepper.
Have you tried to make the galettes ?
Goodluck.
V friendly thread Grin

studyingstudying · 18/04/2012 23:10

Hi drywhite, thanks for your message!

I haven't tried Activia vanilla yoghurts - do they not have sweetener in them? I must try to find some somewhere.

Cottage cheese is a great idea. I haven't made a galette yet, that will be tomorrow mornings adventure :) Hopefully I will like them!

Thanks for your luck! This certainly seems like a friendly thread.

2Bubbas · 19/04/2012 20:25

Hiya dwp!

Thanks for your informative reply. Really needed some sweet fix ideas and will deffo get the sugar free jello! Yum! I'm sooo badly craving sweet things but need to stock up on those things u mentioned. :) but congrats on your weightloss :) its so great to speak to someone who has completed the cruise phase to get their hints and tips so thank u.

All I pretty much ate was chicken up until now, but am so sick and tired of chicken. I'm not a big fish eater and hate tuna and because of that I have never had salmon or anything else as I hate the string fishy taste like tuna, other than cod which I have. This may sound silly but are there any other fishes that I could have??

I love prawns so been having them also, but again getting bored of them.

Can we have tofu? It is mentioned on the list. Have any of you had it in this diet?

drywhiteplease · 19/04/2012 21:06

I know you don't like fish but have you tried baking monk fish wrapped in proccuto? ( not sure I've spelled that right)

I also eat a lot of turkey.fried steaks with seasoning.meatballs made with turkey mince, garlic and herbs.Kind of turkey burgers.

Steak,steak and steak for me!!!

Can't find tofu mentioned in my Dukan book apart from when he goes on about the menopause!

2Bubbas · 19/04/2012 21:47

Yeah it's mentioned in the book on the foods list. (I don't have it to hand) but from what I remember it's the last thing on the 72 food list. I've also googled it and apparantly you can have it.

I was also thinking about quorn, but not sure whether we can have it or if it's only for veggies on this diet. Would love to make some sort of spag bol, meat balls etc! Yum! Need to clearly start adding more variety to my menus. Will write down the list and make a weeks plan so I can plan what to get from weekly shop.

Ohhh, never had monk fish! Is it nice??

drywhiteplease · 19/04/2012 22:05

Well it is chunky (will fill you up)white fish , not much flavour.had it in a restaurant....really liked it.not sure how expensive it is.but nice with the proccuto.

studyingstudying · 20/04/2012 11:54

Hello,

So day 2 was harder than day 1 (should have expected that!) but I have survived...

I had:
Galette (surprisingly nice, though I made it with greek yoghurt and that gave it a wierd yoghurty taste, when I was expecting more pancake. Will try this again, perhaps with natural yoghurt or creme fraiche this time. What does everyone else use?? Could I use some milk instead??)
Coriander and chilli prawns (yum)
Turkey steak marinaded in lemon and chilli
A large skimmed latte

I am loving the ideas for fish - I haven't been out to buy any yet but must go to the shops tonight. Have never had monk fish so will have to try that. And the book has a recipe for salmon wrapped in sole which I'd like to try too.

Must remember to buy cottage cheese too - do you all eat the plain, unflavoured type?

studyingstudying · 23/04/2012 00:25

Hello,

It appears that everyone else has disappeared, so I am just going to have to answer my own post :)

Since day 2 I have done terribly... I managed 3 days of Attack (had lost 4lbs), and then on day 4 (yesterday) I had to go to a friend's birthday party, and was forced (ok, not quite, but almost! There was nothing meaty there to eat!) to have a slice of pizza and some banoffee pie. Eek. And then I finished off the banoffee pie today. Double eek. Gah! I am terrible. At the moment I seem to only have gained half a pound, but I will surely have gained more by tomorrow morning??

So basically I need to start again. Tomorrow is day 1 of Attack again. Wish me luck!

Hope you have all had better weekends than I have.

drywhiteplease · 23/04/2012 08:08

studying I am always lurking on this thread and here for encouragement.just felt I was talking to self too and bit boring because further down line.
But get back on the waggon! Eating at people's homes is a nightmare so just forget the cheat and do attack again and don't cheat!
Good luck

studyingstudying · 23/04/2012 14:36

Thank you drywhite!

I am DETERMINED today. So far I have had:

An oatbran galette
Some white fish cooked in ginger, chilli and soy sauce.
A latte
Lots of green tea!

The thing is that I have had an achy head from day 2 onwards, pretty much constantly. And today is the first time its gone... I'm worried that the lack of carbs affects my head and that its ok today because of what I ate yesterday?? How long did anyone else have the headache for, and did it go completely? I don't think I could cope with a sore head on all PP days for the next couple of months!

2Bubbas I hope you are still doing well!

2Bubbas · 26/04/2012 09:09

Hiya

Thanks for all your advice dwp :)

Yes I'm still going studying :) I had a whole week of cheating, found it hard to get back on track. When I finally did get back in track, I had another cheat (a lovely choc cake slice) yum yum, on Sunday but I am now truly back on track, trying to resist all temptation. My motivator is that if I keep on track, the quicker I can get onto the consolidation phase, meaning more yum food. So hopefully I will continue to ve good

So for the waffle :) in regards to your headache, that will soon go. I too got a headache and felt really lathergic, but it all soon passed when I moved on to the cruise phase, so don't worry.

Be strong and try your best to avoid treats and hopefully you will see big results. I lost 2 stone in two months, would have lost more if it wasn't for the cheats. The cheats have really slowed my weightloss.

How much weight do u hav to lose? Ive lost 34lbs so far and have only 10lbs to lose according to the DD chart, but I am aiming to lose another 18lbs. x

studyingstudying · 26/04/2012 18:07

Hey,

I am back on track now, but I had another wobble on Tuesday...my friends had a birthday cake for me so I felt compelled to have a piece (my birthday a couple of weeks ago, but hadn't seen these friends since). When I do cheat, then it seems I have to cheat for 2 days before I can get back on track. Oh well, I am determined still, and my headache has finally gone, so I am going to keep at it!

So far I have lost 7 lbs, I have another 14 lbs to go. I'm going to a wedding in 2 weeks time, so that is my immediate goal - I'd like to have lost ~4 of those 14 lbs by then. Think its possible??

Good luck with the last 10 lbs - you're nearly there now!! Keep going.

Coroico97 · 28/04/2012 09:17

Hi there, just joined Mumsnet today! Am into my 6th week of Dukan with primary aim of getting into last year's shorts as they are way too tight and I am way too tight to buy any more. Have lost almost half a stone and but now finding it heavy going! Will be on Cruise phase for another month I think. Ate nearly whole bag of sugar free sweets yesterday. Was so in need of something sweet. Did the job but flatulence nearly made me take off. Even the cat bid a hasty retreat!

studyingstudying · 28/04/2012 14:20

Hi Coroico,

Wow, I can't believe you're on your 6th week! That's amazing and very dedicated - have you had any cheats at all? At this point I am not sure I could do 6 weeks. But I'm taking it one day at a time :)

Having had almost no social life to date, I now seem to have almost continuous obligations/eating opportunities - including a flat party tonight. Will have to stay away from the nibbles and work out what kind of drinks it would be best to take...maybe I should drive so I can't drink? And then bring something non-alcoholic. Any suggestions?

Are we allowed sugar-free sweets? I haven't tried any of those. I made the tuna and cottage cheese muffins mentioned previously on this thread and they are great! I loved them. Probably too easy to eat a few and eat too much oat bran, but they are really muffin-like. I recommend them!

poorbuthappy · 28/04/2012 14:52

I have just ordered the book from Amazon.
So my first question is:

Did you all register on the website to work out how long you had to be on the different phases?
Or is the information in the book too?

Coroico97 · 28/04/2012 23:10

Hi Poorbuthappy! Nooooo!! You just need to buy book. It's all in there, and some good recipes. You don't need to register with website, in my humble opinion. Good luck! I have to say it's not too bad, but we should keep each other's spirits up with hints, tips and recipes!

Coroico97 · 28/04/2012 23:18

Hi studyingstudying! Hope you are not studying too hard! Talking of lapses had a BIG one tonight, culminating in sticky toffee pudding!! Ha ha ha!! Went out for dinner and have eaten and drunk nothing for ages and so slightly went 'off message'! Have not lapsed much though generally. I have to say, being a bit thinner does really spur you on. I just feel so much better. In terms of drink, apparently white spirits with slimline tonic are the way to go, so vodka tonic or gin and tonic rather than wine. Suits me!! Back to ham and cottage cheese tomorrow. Snore! Like the sound of those muffins. Might try them. And yes, sugar free fruit salad chews from sainsburys are fab, and also sugar free Werthers! Also, sugar free jelly. Make some! Helps with hunger pangs! Loom out for, ahem, slight flatulence issues however.
