ok smug faces !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LadyRabbit · 31/03/2012 12:43

Can I join, please?! I'm on Day 3 of the Attack phase. Hunger is not a problem so far, in fact, I'd say I don't really feel like eating much but am making myself follow it rigidly. Not too keen on the bran galettes though, although I perked mine up with a tiny bit of lemon juice and a sachet of truvia.

I am knackered though. Husband is doing it too, and although we've already lost 7 pounds between us, we both described the last two days as trying to do everything while wading through vats of treacle. I've lost 3 pounds so far, and would like to lose another 10-13.

I am dreaming, literally praying for even a nibble of carrot or beetroot or tomato. Thought it would be cake but I'm a big veggie and fruit eater and finding that I miss these more than anything. Planning on moving to the Cruise phase in another 3 or 4 days, although the Attack phase really motivates because the weight loss is so fast and tangible.

Has anybody cheated and added just one piece of fruit to the Cruise phase? Did it make any difference? I feel like the fruit bowl is taunting me right now.....

OneLieIn · 01/04/2012 21:40

Hello, can I join too please. I start tomorrow. I have signed up with Dr Dukan, spent quite a while laughing at his English, so I start tomorrow.

What's the deal? Do I get a daily email telling me what I need to do?

I am done being the fat friend, I am done being the giant in the family photos (or which family photos, I don't have many of us all together), I am so done with my fat stomach and I am so done being unhealthy. woohoo, let's go.

drywhiteplease · 02/04/2012 10:02

oneliein I didn't do it online, used book, but however you do it, stick to it and it will work.

Boo81 · 03/04/2012 19:38

Hi, just been reading through loads of your inspirational posts!

I did Dukan for a while last year and lost quite a bit of weight. Am a bridesmaid in just over 5 weeks with a dress thats currently a size too small so I need to sort this out drastically!

Will be starting Dukan attack phase tomorrow for 5 days. Its going to be so hard to do it over Easter weekend. Have friends round for dinner,a night out, etc but I need to stick to it.

No doubt I'll be on here moaning about my craving for carbs by lunchtime tomorrow!

sunface · 04/04/2012 22:08

Apologies if this has all been said before, but thinking of starting Dukan with a wedding looming in 8 weeks time and about a stone to lose i reckon. Any words of advice as to what ingredients i should get in advance? Is it also worth buying the book and which one?! Thanks ladies xxxx

drywhiteplease · 04/04/2012 22:48

You can loose a stone in that time and will be amazed at results.....but it's hard.
1 week.......pp,read book, but basically no cards,no sugar no booze...just steak, chicken breast.turkey, no fat cottage ch,prawns, fish, yog 0fat,two eggs a day max and oat bran 2 tbsp mixed in yog. All this any amount.loadswater.you will do it.in the mean time order book (cheaper than online) with amazon and stick ridgidly to what it says .then introduce some veg week 2.good luck.
Ps I don't work for Dukan!

NigellasGuest · 05/04/2012 09:51

do you definitely HAVE to walk for 20 mins per day during attack phase?
I find walking really boring.
Could e.g. vaccuum the house vigorously for 20 mins instead?

from what I understand, the exercising has to be pretty gentle though, otherwise you get hungry.

Boo81 · 05/04/2012 13:51

Last time I did it I exercised quite a lot and I don't think it made me any more hungry. This time I don't have as much time to exercise but am dusting off my 30 Day Shred dvd over the weekend!

fatlittlepiggy · 06/04/2012 16:59

Hello All
New to this thread I hope I will be welcomed :)
I've been doing dukan attack for 7 days. I didn't weigh myself until today because I wanted a dramatic result!
I've gained a pound.
I'm really fat - the name isn't a joke! I have five stone to lose!
I've eaten nothing but fat free cottage cheese and yoghurt, chicken, fish and eggs for a week, with the obligatory oat bran.
Think this diet might not be for me (we are all different) but if anyone has any advice I'd be grateful.
Don't really want to throw in the towel - For one thing I've got a cupboard full of oat bran and a fridge full of non fat yoghurt!
Ta in advance
FLP

drywhiteplease · 06/04/2012 17:55

fatlittlepiggy are you drinking lots af water? I found that my weight "got stuck" then just as I was about to get really down about it it would change. If you are eating what you say you are there is no way you can't loose weight. Also (apologies for being indelicate) but I got horrendously constipated on attack....bet once your insides get a bit of veg and get used to the diet you'll loose a stone in poo !Grin

fatlittlepiggy · 06/04/2012 17:59

Thanks Drywhite.... I have been pooing Blush
I haven't been drinking nearly enough water though....could that be it?
My body fat percentage has stayed the same too though...
Currently resisting the urge to gorge on chocolate eggs :)

NigellasGuest · 06/04/2012 19:30

are you doing the 20 mins walking a day, FLP?

fatlittlepiggy · 06/04/2012 19:32

Ta for replying. Walking for at least half an hour. Sometimes more. Just don't think this diet suits me. Which is OK, just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything seriously wrong :)

NigellasGuest · 07/04/2012 11:40

FLP, if you're still there - have you thought about whether your clothes feel looser, rather than looked at the scales?
or have you just knocked the Dukan on the head now?

fatlittlepiggy · 07/04/2012 13:07

Hi NigellasGuest
No, my clothes don't feel any looser :(
I'm going to switch to atkins I think because it has worked for me in the past.

Thanks for replying :)

olijackmum · 10/04/2012 11:51

OMG !!!!
I have been sooooooo naughty this weekend , been to friends in cumbria had a lovely cream scone on saturday , bacon butties for breakfast, put 3lb on but it was worth it . I am back on it today it will be off by sunday .

Boo81 · 10/04/2012 12:44

How did everyone get on over the weekend? I had lost 5lbs when I weighed myself on Friday. Was naughty and had a bottle of wine and some chocolate on Sunday so I put on another 2lbs. Oh dear!

Am back on it with a vengeance today hoping to lose that 2lbs plus more this week. Only 4.5 weeks till I have to fit in that bridesmaids dress!

youngmummyb · 11/04/2012 23:31

Hi everyone, so glad to see a dukan thread!
@fatlittlepiggy (don't know if that tags lol never done it on here before),
is it perhaps your time of the month lol? during then we tend to have a lot of water retention, so obv can't see the weight loss. also did you calculate your true weight and do the amount of attack phase recommended? doing more can result in negative results rather than positive.

I lost 5lbs last week, and then slipped at easter and gained back four:( but did 3 days of pp and lost 3 of the 4, so very happy!
Also has anyone tried the Dukan Chicken Nuggets? Had them today and have to say was absolutely the best PP meal i've had! Tastes just like the real thing!

olijackmum · 12/04/2012 10:03

Youngmummyb

Can I please have the receipe for the nuggets

NigellasGuest · 12/04/2012 13:32

I am just starting Cruise phase, having finished Attack phase without losing A SINGLE POUND.

I just hope this will work!!!!

LadyRabbit · 12/04/2012 14:33

fatlittlepiggy did you do the 25 mins of exercise a day? The water does make a difference on this diet, because there are more toxins in your system based on being so protein heavy. BUT, it may not be the diet for you.

My husband is doing really well on it - he's lost 12 pounds in 14 days and I've never seen him so committed to something before (never thought he'd ditch the obligatory glass of red a night.)

I however, did four days of attack, lost 5 pounds, but was so fatigued and I am used to exercising a lot anyway and found I simply didn't have my usual energy. I was also concerned by how poor my nutrition would be if I stayed on it to lose the remaining 10lbs and so I switched to good old Rosemary Conley's Low GI Hip and Thigh diet and I have to say it is the dog's BS!! Does exactly what it says on the tin, and I have lost another 3 lbs in a week.

I think the Dukan is attractive because of the short sharp shock at the beginning (it's definitely worked for my husband and motivated him to shift the weight) but I just felt so awful that it killed my motivation. I'm so much happier and energetic now and even though I'm down to between 900-1000 cals a day, I'm feeling great and never go hungry. If Dukan isn't working for you then I maybe give Rosemary a try. It's a steadier paced weight loss but a bit more balanced.

That said, Dukan does work. My DH is proof and he's looking rather lovely I have to say.

drywhiteplease · 12/04/2012 22:55

Nearly at the end of my week staying with relatives with no scales and no Dukan type food. It's been hard because the first part was at PILs who mostly eat stodgy, cakes, cakes with the occasional potato thrown in for good measure. Just ate meat and veg, starved as no Dukan friendly snacks ( where are my activia vanilla and crab sticks?)no oat bran, not pp day .wine every night though.oops.one more night then back home.hope I haven't done too much damage.

olijackmum · 13/04/2012 11:50

I am really struggling this week to get back into it meal times I am fine its the evening with all those bloody easter eggs !!!!!!!

drywhiteplease · 13/04/2012 17:35
