Big munchies today and no crab sticks in fridge! Resisted rocky road and nutella cake.funny it's taken so long, but will just have to have a [wine glass] tonight as dh away skiing,so deserve it!

Have a good Saturday everyone!

< passes wine round>

cornishclottedcream · 10/03/2012 19:17

Hi Everyone, Been really low with a chest infection but it seems to have helped the weightloss another pound down although I have had to go onto 5 PV days and 2 PP days as my poor tummy just couldn't cope without some veg every day. Think I will just have to accept that it will be 2 pounds per week for me because of this :) Well done DryWhite rocky road is very hard to resist and as for a spoonful of Nutella... I love chocolate!
I too have been very thirsty Winkle but thought it was my virus, guess it could be the diet instead. Anyway I'm going to have one small glass of wine tonight to celebrate the end of my anti biotics :o
Keep going everyone!

skandi1 · 11/03/2012 00:52

Soooooo. Done my 7 days of attack and lost 8lbs. Am obviously pleased.

Didn't find the protein overload too bad. Turns out I wasn't too bothered with refined carb anyway. Do miss choc a bit.

Struggling with snacks that I can take out and about when I am out with DCs. I tried crabsticks but they were yuk after 3 hours in the park. Clearly not going to take chicken or beef as result will be the same. Is there some sort of dried meat/protein based stuff which travels well??

Looking forward to some veg tomorrow. Smile

drywhiteplease · 11/03/2012 08:01

How about .the egg and bacon thing someone mentioned earlier in the thread?

Think is was line muffin tray holes with thin cut,low fat ham and break an agg in each one.bake for 20 min.

There was also an interesting cottage cheese muffin recipe using the bran, but can't remember recipe...infact would like it myself.

olijackmum · 11/03/2012 09:09

Starting the attack today
Just had greek yoghurt with oatbran
Think lunch will be ham and egg cups done in the oven
Tea is chicken from the roast I am doing the others any ideas what I can have with it

After weighing myself this morning I have got to do this

drywhiteplease · 11/03/2012 15:07

olijackmum when I did attack I filled fridge with smoked salmon pâté ( nat yog, poached salmon, smoked salmon trimmings, lemon juice in blender...great on a galette), crab sticks, cooked chicken breast, meatballs made with turkey mince and or beef mince, cottage cheese, prawns, vanilla activia, sugar free jelly so I had stuff to hand if I was hungry.a
Also ate a lot of steak/ roast beef that really filled me up.

After a large serving of roast chicken I wd have a yogurt and sf jelly mixed up...nice!

olijackmum · 11/03/2012 16:53

Thanks I don't fish . I dont feel hungry up to now.

foreverondiet · 11/03/2012 17:00

I made tuna & cottage cheese muffins good for out and about, even used on long haul flight - tub cottage cheese, tin tuna some oatbran and a couple of eggs, MUST use silicone muffin cases as will stick to paper.

Otherwise I also struggle to find good things for out and about - small cans of tuna with ringpull? I find a greek yoghurt lasts quite well not in fridge so if its an out and about proper lunch would do yoghurt and tuna (and some salad veg) - so greek yoghurt would be another snack idea. I do have nuts (but I am at target weight) which travel well but no good until consolidation (basically prefer nuts to the cheese he recommends).

olijackmum · 11/03/2012 17:08

Thanks I don't fish . I dont feel hungry up to now.

isittheweekendyet · 11/03/2012 17:59

Hi - can I join too?

Am 7 days in. Did 4 days of attack and now alternating pp & pv. Have lost 6lbs so far Smile

Target is to lose a stone although may make it 1.5 stone if weight loss goes well. This thread has been great for inspiration.

drywhiteplease · 11/03/2012 21:12

Well,Sainsburys delivery arrived at 6, felt like hugging the delivery man and chasing him into the van to get my crab sticks!!!!!! My fridge was bare...no eggs,no yogurt, only cooked dry chicken......the rocky road was calling! Anyway major cheat averted and now have fridge full of stuff.

IWantToGoToThere · 12/03/2012 09:03

Hi everyone, I'm still Dukan-ing, but mainly lurk these days as just have no heart to post! I have had some really good weightloss in the last 2 weeks (nearly 3kg off in that time - I'm on the cruise phase). I've now lost 7.6kg which is a stone and a few pounds, in 7 weeks, having had a few cheat days. It's not bad going, but I have a lot to lose so am slightly disappointed that it's not coming off faster. Still, am trying to remain focussed as have a week long holiday coming up at the start of May which is just over 7 weeks away and I'd like to lose another 7kg in that time.

My first goal is hitting 72.5kg which I'm about 3.5kg away from now. This will get me in to the 'overweight' category rather than the 'obese' category of the BMI scale. Once I've done that, I'm cashing in a Day Spa voucher that I got for Christmas and will have the day off being pampered.

Drywhite congratulations, you are nearly there. Are you going to go on to consolidation?

What sort of exercise is everyone doing?

Hi to everyone else - keep at it!

drywhiteplease · 12/03/2012 13:15

iwanttogothere well done, it is hard going at times. But just keep going because my experience is that what dr D says really does jappen if younstick to it.
I think I will go for consolidation as have reached my "true" weight (just being greedy trying for a couple more pounds). I don't know if anyone on the thread is on consolidation but I feel apprehensive about it because I'm an all or nothing person and I'm worried that once I reintroduce bread, cheese etc I won't have the willpower to ration myself.

Any way here goes!

greenfig · 12/03/2012 14:26

Hi all, I lost 1 1/2 stone on dukan 18 mths ago but consolidated 3 lbs above target weight as, a) was bored & b)others on the thread had continued losing. I did the shred & thought I would tone up & lose a few more lbs & I didn't want the extra loss to show on my face. I didn't continue losingGrin & although I've fluctuated by about 1/2 a stone I've stabilised really well without being neurotic. I am 'good' prob 80 % of the time but still have pizza, croissants etc with the children in the hols, & I drink again. I still have oatbran porridge most days, have cut back massively on refined carbs (pasta, rice pots bread etc & reach for cot cheese, eggs, ham etc between meals rather than toast. However, I would now like to lose the 3lbs extra that I currently am & the few extra that I never lost so approx 1/2 stone for summer, so can I rejoin as the support last time was a HUGE help!
In answer to your question dry white when I got to consolidation it wasn't bread, chips, choc etc that I was craving but lentils, avocado, apples!! So no, I found it really easy, although I wasn't rigid with the rules incl. all extras every day, just generally a little more of what I really wanted but remaining mostly sensible bar Christmas, hols etc. Perhaps it'll be the same for you. I find that while I still enjoy occasional pasta, risotto, mashed pots etc, I feel uncomfortable afterwards which takes away some of the craving, if that makes sense. Well done all on your losses so far.Smile

winkle2 · 13/03/2012 14:25

Hello all!

I had a shaky weekend but stuck to it today and yesterday. That works for me :)

Todays menu

scrambled eggs
yoghurt with oat bran

soup and salad

chicken stir fry

sugar free jelly

drywhiteplease · 14/03/2012 08:34

Morning!

Note to self and warning to others:

When using one cal oil spray aim nozzle at pan not face!

winkle2 · 14/03/2012 10:47

grrrr I hate PV days! I always gain weight after them! Was 10st 5yesterday, today 10st 8! Back to PP!!

menu

scrambled eggs
skinny latte

chicken
yoghurt with oatbran

sugar free jelly

chicken soup

IWantToGoToThere · 14/03/2012 14:18

I'm on a PP day. winkle, do you like asparagus? I read somewhere that it's a natural diuretic so if you include it with your veges on a PV day, you might find you don't retain as much water. Also remember, any gain is NOT fat - it's just water. Whoever got fat eating vegetables?! Frustrating seeing the scales going the wrong way though.

Well I had a nice non-scale victory today. I had to wear a suit for work today so pulled one out of the cupboard that I hadn't worn in ages as the last time I did (some time last year), it was decidedly snug. I thought for sure it would still feel too tight, but I put it on and the trousers are very loose indeed - I should be in the size down. But it's nice to feel slim for a change so I decided to wear the suit anyway and look like a little kid trying on mummy's clothes. Not quite the professional image I was hoping to project, but screw it!

winkle2 · 14/03/2012 14:58

well done Iwanttogothere. I love the feeling of my clothes getting looser.

that's one of the reasons I want to lose weight, so I can get back in to my old clothes ? I cant afford new ones!

I had some salad with lunch ? grrrrrr ? struggling on the PP days! That means tomorrow and Friday HAVE TO BE PP days in time for the wedding I'm going to on Saturday. Off to buy some cooked chicken LOL

IWantToGoToThere · 15/03/2012 09:27

I'm having another PP day today as this weekend we're staying at the in-laws as it's my MIL's birthday and we're all going out for dinner, then having brunch for mother's day on the Sunday. I foresee some carbs... I will do my best at the brunch - hoping I can order scrambled eggs and salmon, but Thai might be a bit tricky as we tend to order lots of dishes for everyone to share so most will be carby or high in fat. I just find it easier to go off the plan for the weekend and enjoy it, than stress about making the right choices and end up getting frustrated and angry at Dr Dukan!

I will also be having a glass or two of wine tomorrow night as I'm speaking at a conference tomorrow morning on a topic I'm not that confident about, and I'm BRICKING it. Have been dreading it for weeks. In fact this time tomorrow, I'll be 45 minutes away from taking the podium. Aaaagh. Feel sick. But some wine will be a nice reward and a good de-stressor.

winkle I'm sorry I've probably missed it, but how much weight are you going to lose (note I said 'going to' and not 'aiming for' or 'trying to')? Are you far off fitting in to your old clothes?

greenfig how are you doing? Are you finding it easy this time around having a smaller amount to lose, or is it difficult to come back to? I read somewhere that this diet is hard to return to after a sustained period back on carbs and I can quite believe it.

olijackmum and cornish how are you both doing? Any good successes to share? drywhite have you managed to lose the last of those pesky pounds? Hope you recovered from your cooking oil injury - though I bet your skin felt nice and moisturised afterwards :)

olijackmum · 15/03/2012 09:58

Hi

Weighed myself this morning lost 5lb since sunday last day of the attack tomorrow . I am looking forward to some veg and salad .
Mothers day meal is sorted having chicken cacciatore a slimming world receipe I have so its just chicken , bacon, tin toms , and bits of veg so thats good and I will have roast veg with it , peppers, onion and mushrooms .

Does anyone have any nice pudding /cake recipes that I can do or has anyone tried any of the dukan biscuits

I am feeling very motivated !!!

winkle2 · 15/03/2012 10:18

Girls I have to confess that I haven?t been sticking with it 100% and its showing on the scales.

I've had the odd slice of cheese, chocolate mousse this week.

Annoyed with myself as I wanted to be nice and slim for the wedding this weekend. I was 10st 5 on Monday and I'm 10st 9 this morning . Considering I was 10st 11 when I started this nearly 3 weeks ago that is pretty cr@p.

Back to the dry chicken for me!

I want to get into the 9 stone bracket so it was only half a stone away, now its more like a stone.

Well my line is drawn

Back to it today 100% PP. Girls, please help me to stick with it!

Menu ? this is pretty much the same for tomorrow too

yoghurt

cooked chicken

burgers ? the essential waitrose ones are 95% beef.

yoghurt with oat bran, sugarfre jelly if needed as snacks

greenfig · 15/03/2012 11:47

Hi all
IWTGT I did well & lost 3lbs last week but had a w/e with friends & put on 6lbs by monShockShock Luckily most came back off by tues & have passed 1st mini target of initial Dukan weight- for the 2nd time!! I am not doing pp days, oatbran porridge for bfast, soup/ protein salad or eggs for lunch & lo carb in eves. I'm finding it easy but need to keep the discipline at the w/es. I get too relaxed & perhaps a little cocky!?! Have wine which leads to carbs!!When I did it last time I was disheartened that when I had an occasional cheat of a glass of wine etc I could go up a couple of lbs overnight & thought how could I possibly maintain when I was consolidating, but the good news is I did! Hope this helps you winkle I am shredding too to help me on my waySmile
olijackmum not espesh nice but sugar free jelly, custards made with skimmed milk, cornflour & vanilla or cocoa. I did make a flourless choc cake using courgettes, cocoa, sweetener & eggs which was successful but prob not v strict Dukan. I found it easier to just restrict myself to yogs in the main, sweet things seemed to make me want more when I was 'in the zone'

drywhiteplease · 15/03/2012 13:27

iwanttogothere I'm doing consolidation now and have lost another pound.i looked on Dukan website and i have reached my true weight, my target was 3lb less than that and im a pound off that.im pretty relaxed now. The most imp thing for me now is to not put it all back on.

Can't remember who said they need motivation but honestly this is such an effective diet I can't believe it! It's astonishing that I can get into even my smallest clothes now (maybe I will try on my wedding dress!) really you will all manage to loose your weight because it really does work. I'm just sick of sf jelly but addicted to the galettes!

Btw my skin feels lovely after the one cal oil caught back!Grin

winkle2 · 15/03/2012 17:27

drywhite - well done! that is exactly the sort of thing I needed to read to keep me going!

my friend lost 3 stone on dukan and looks amazing so I know it works.

I've managed to stick to it so for today so pleased with myself. Looking forward to my burgers for dinner.
