Not brave at all! (it's really no big deal) just desperately trying to shift the last few pounds. Fingers crosse it helped! Wil be interesting to see my weight in the morning. Hmm

dandelionss · 24/01/2012 22:38

I'm still here! Not fallen offf the wagon yet, but can feel the dreaded PMT building up and have been sorely tempted. Not going to weigh myself agin til period is finished as I know that I'll be down hearted with weight gain.
Not been too good with walking and exercises last few days as I've been doing training at work and had to work more than my usual part time hours.

dandelionss · 24/01/2012 22:39

..I'd like recipe for Thai fishcakes too ..they sound good!

drywhiteplease · 25/01/2012 08:15

So molly after " unloading your baggage" yesterday have you lost more weight?

dandelionss · 25/01/2012 09:54

Just been looking at Activia 0% raspberry yogurts.I know we are not supposed to have fruit yogs, but I notice they contain less carb and less sugar than the vanilla ones which I thought were allowed?

Alouisee · 25/01/2012 10:31

I'm still here after my weekend off, I managed to put on 4lbs over the weekend but had dropped back by 2 yesterday morning. I hope to finish the week at the same weight as last Friday. So its actually cost me a week.

I'm building up to pmt and can feel my appetite and general craving for foid building up and it's quite horrible feeling so out of control. I'm defrosting a huge bag of prawns to gorge on today and I think that scrambled eggs might be on the menu later too.

I'm quite tempted by a colonic do I'd be interested how many pounds you've lost.

drywhiteplease · 25/01/2012 20:08

Where is everybody?are we all suffering from pmt ?do we need a "celebration meal"? Should I open some virtual champagne again?

minceorotherwise · 25/01/2012 21:36

Hi, still here just so sick of cottage cheese et al!!!!
Yes, we all need a pick up I think.
Virtual champagne will do nicely ta x

drywhiteplease · 25/01/2012 22:10

Isn't that the whole point of this thread?

To support each other when it gets tough. I have not weighed myself for 3days because I was getting fed up at stagnation.will weigh self on sat.

Food today.pp:

B=galette and cottage cheese (will try to make it with only egg white tomorrow)
L=chicken breast in yogurt and curry sauce, salmon pate
Activia vanilla
D= thick slice cold roast beef( must have used at least 200cal chewing bloody thing...nearly broke jaw!), sf jelly with natural yogurt, activia vanilla

Have made lemon and lime af jelly .....looks radio active and tastes like medicine!

Veg day tomorrow.....have tuna steaks, asparagus and roasted cherry tomatoes planned for dinner.......can't wait.

IWantToGoToThere · 25/01/2012 22:23

Sorry, crazy work day today, and have just picked myself up off the floor after watching the most emotional One Born Every Minute ever!!

I'm still going, am really committed to this. It was a PV day for me today, so had vanilla activia and oatbran for breakfast, prawn salad for lunch and roast chicken with carrots and mushrooms for dinner. Yum! Have, as of today, lost 2kg in total which is what I was hoping to have lost by Monday.

Thai fishcakes
2 pre-cooked salmon fillets (I got mine from Tescos but I've seen them in M&S too), 1 red chilli, 1 egg, 1tsp or so of finely chopped up lemongrass (to taste really - I add more as I like the lemony taste), 3 chopped spring onions and 1 onion and 1 garlic clove stirfried together.

Mix all ingredients together using a blender or stick mixer until well combined. It will be quite wet. Then spoon in to a frying pan and cook on one side until set (about 4 minutes) before turning them over and cooking the other side until cooked through. Serve with salt and pepper and a squeeze of lime. Makes about 5 fishcakes.

PP day for me tomorrow, ho hum. Cupboards are bare so I'll see what I feel like in the morning and pop in to M&S or Tesco on the way to work.

I'd be interested to hear about the raspberry activia too, dandelionss. Am getting sick of plain yoghurts.

minceorotherwise · 25/01/2012 22:37

Thanks drywhite, yes support really helps, esp when you are all doing so well !!!
Thanks for fish cake recipe, sounds yum! Have also ran to make lime jelly and tried to put it in the freezer to set before I fall into my chocolate craving, set set set set !!!!!

Dastardly27 · 26/01/2012 06:13

Hi Everyone - just had a quick read. drywhite - was getting so fed up of SF jellies and yogurt towards the end of the week. I had this awful taste in my mouth all the time. Yuk! Had my first ones for a couple of days yesterday. Might just increase the oat bran I put in them and have less. Had Dukan friendly shepherd's pie with cauliflower topping last night and it was actually nice to eat SP and not feel stuffed after due to lack of potato. Going out with friends for dinner on Saturday. Might not be Dukan friendly but will be back straight on it with PP on Sunday. Hubby is slight annoyed that the scales are not moving downwards but can really see he has lost weight.
We are not going to be giver uppers. Right?lol

Dastardly27 · 26/01/2012 06:18

I got Activia 0% raspberry yogurts the other day but only because there were no normal non fruit ones that I normally buy. Did also think 'oh what a treat!'lol Not had one yet.

Alouisee · 26/01/2012 07:35

M&S spiced rhubarb yogurts are incredible, no sugar in them just sweetener but the taste like old fashioned Rhubarb Fool.

Having said that I did fall off the wagon yesterday, combination of pmt and not eating enough on a pp day because I'm so damn bored with it. I may have to pv until my hormones & emotions stabilise.

drywhiteplease · 26/01/2012 08:34

alanddastardly good to hear you !
I have to admit this diet is boring......but I have never looked forward to veg so much.....and it does work.

dastardly my dh ,who is also on a diet but a "times" diet because it must be good, went completely nuts on the rowing machine a week ago and did his back in and then got man flu....in bed for 2 days!!!!twerp! Talk about stress....man flu victim, pmt, teenagers........but it must be the coffee and exercise because I am just letting it wash over me!!!

al off to wait rose...I adore rhubarb.

Burns night supper sat.....where does Dukan stand with haggis ?!
My plan is to have veg and do a lot of Scottish dancing ( interesting sober!) which I think will count for my 30min walk.

P.s hope you all don't think I am sad looser/ mn lurker....but this thread is a huge motivation for me.

drywhiteplease · 26/01/2012 08:35

mollyfloss we are all waiting to hear !

minceorotherwise · 26/01/2012 08:39

Drywhite...I'm off to waitrose this morning too. Hoping the extra cash will add a bit more flavour. Did anyone find any low fat cocoa powder anywhere ?? Need to make some sweet stuff if I am to keep going.

Alouisee · 26/01/2012 08:56

The yogurts are at M&S NOT Waitrose.

The diet is toying with your mind ;-)

Dastardly27 · 26/01/2012 09:38

drywhite probably not what I should say but, and I used to go to Burn's Night in the middle east every year, then why not just go and enjoy it. I know I will slip up on Saturday but we hardly ever go out so am just going to enjoy it. Get right back onto it on Sunday. Was in a supermarket here yesterday and the woman in front of me was buying the Dukan ready made galettes with the reduced fat cocoa powder in them. Will have a wee look next week when I am in there. got my flavoured yogurts this morning. Got 3 cartons to get us through until next week. Had pork and boiled eggs this morning. Must admit, I do like the PP days. Saw seedless grapes in the supermarket this morning and desperately wanted to buy them. Didn't. Don't see seedless grapes here very often. Remember the first time I told MIL about seedless grapes and she thought it most odd!lol
and drywhite - we're all posting/reading here for the same reason. Disagree with your sad loser description: we are happy losers!lol

drywhiteplease · 26/01/2012 10:06

dastardly thanks.funny about grapes.i was doing my dd packed lunch and just had one s less grape.....after 3weeks no sugar the taste was unbelievable! Your advice re burns night v good. The one thing about giving up things I love is that I don't want to loose myself (sounds deep)....i read article about a woman who gave up alcohol for a year and became so dull her friends stopped inviting her out,she also avoided social functions so as not to be tempted, as a result she became clinically depressed and doctor advised her to have wine from time to time !( btw not depressed....funny story though!)

al no carbs definitely messing my brain up....having difficulty with words generally!

Dastardly27 · 26/01/2012 11:02

if that article about the woman was in the mail then I read it too! Know exactly where you're coming from.

minceorotherwise · 26/01/2012 11:36

Dastardly, which supermarket were you in? Ready made galettes would be marvellous!!! But then, I am easily pleased lately, I went all manic over beet root the other day ....

minceorotherwise · 26/01/2012 11:45

Got the sugar craving whacked. Porridge with sweetner!

IWantToGoToThere · 26/01/2012 13:13

Ready-made galettes? Wow! I must say, I made one once and I didn't particularly like it so won't bother again. I actually quite like my oat bran just mixed in with yoghurt. Mince how are you making the porridge?

I'm at my desk with M&S prawns and some plain chicken for lunch. Am getting heartily sick of both but am out of ideas for lunch in the office on PP days. PV days are fine (salad usually) but need inspiration on PP days.

I went to Boots and saw that they stocked a few Atkins chocolate bars. I bought on one a whim but not sure if I'll eat it yet. It has 1.8g carbs (which is less than most non fat yoghurts), 141 calories adn 1.5g sugar. What do we think?? I bet it tastes chemically and won't be very healthy, but as I'm mainlining diet coke at the moment, I think that particular ship has sailed...

IWantToGoToThere · 26/01/2012 13:16

Also, I meant to add, I'm doing the Shred DVD tonight. My cold has gone to the extent that I can no longer use it as an excuse not to exercise. I will be taking it very easily though as it's been a while since I've done anything more active than brush my teeth, and I don't want to pull every 'muscle' (and I use that term loosely) that I have
