Is Roast chicken allowed?....It just tastes too good when hot straight out of the oven, that it can't possibly be allowed? ..(I take of most of the skin..but a little might sneak past my lips)

Nibbled on it all evening last night and felt quite full for once?...is this ok?Confused

Also..how do you ladies find it effects the scales at the time of the month?...Period started today, but I have felt bloated and heavy all this week, so I haven't weighed myself. Weigh in tomorrow..bit worried as its my heavy day ..(TMI) Although shall I expect most of the water rentention to be gone by day 2 of period? Blush

Alouisee · 19/01/2012 14:45

Roast chicken is allowed but not that hot, buttery, crispy skin I'm afraid.

The time of the month does have a bearing on the scales not only pre period but mid cycle too. Fortunately this is usually followed by a satisfying reduction in poundage.

I was 1.5lb down today, after a pv day yesterday which was a relief because I hadn't dropped anything for 5 days. Clothes are looser, tits are shrinking, and miraculously my jowls have noticeably reduced.

I made the dukan cauliflower pizza base for dinner last night, it was very, very delicious.

dandelionss · 19/01/2012 17:55

Alouisee-Congratulations on your 1.5lbs off! very interested in the cauliflower pizza! I'm not a big fan of cauliflower but I guess mixed with a few herbs it would be ok.Do you put anything cheesey on top?

Dastardly27 · 19/01/2012 18:41

Yes, Alouisee, I would be interested in this cauliflower pizza base. Oh, that has made me want a stir fry now. All cauliflower related!!! Didn't eat much this morning and ended up being out all afternoon and so only ate properly a couple of hours ago. Steak and mustard. Yummy. Had a SF jelly (despite sounding like an addict I do only have 3 per day. Having it with yogurt and then a bit of the daily allowance of oatbran on top really makes it last longer and fills a hole. Have 3 SF jellies per day and 6 fruitless 0%yogurts. Usually save one or two of my saily allowance for the night time if I watch anything. Got on the scales this morning and wine and crisp sandwich blip from Monday has vanished - along with a wee bit more BUT official WI not until Monday.

dandelionss · 19/01/2012 19:08

Dastardly- what do you mean daily allowance of- yogs or jellies? I didn't know there was one Blush

Dastardly27 · 19/01/2012 19:18

no, I just have 3 SF jellies and you are only allowed, I read, 1litre of dairy produce. After dissolving the crystals, you can top it up with skimmed milk. It's then more like a blancmange and seems more filling than just jelly on it's own. I didn't really like it. The daily allowance thing I was on about was the oatbran, 2tablespoons per day in cruise.

Alouisee · 19/01/2012 19:19

Cauliflower Pizza

Dastardly27 · 19/01/2012 19:34

Oh thank you. That looks delicious. So fat free mozarella is allowed? Doubt I'll find any - took me long enough to find low fat one, or whatever it was. Mushrooms. Onions. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!lol

drywhiteplease · 19/01/2012 20:49

Evening all.

alouisee congrats and comforting as am worried that the amount of veg today may affect weigh in tomorrow.you are a mine of Dukan info...love the cauliflower pizza.miss cheese.where do you get your mozzarella?

dastardly you will be amused to know that I am also now hooked onto sf jelly and yogurt combo.so lovely and refreshing.i love fruit, the juiciness etc and this may fill the gap.unfortunately my kids noticed it straight away ( I dont think I have ever made it for them, terrible mother that I am) and had one each too.....another trip to sainsburys!

Also........EARTH SHATTERING news from up north.....I have is discovered crab sticks now thanks to all of you, had 1 for lunch, then 7 more!!!!!!!!!
Finally in t he gym mirror I think I saw a muscle on my arm!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and today's menu

B= galette +cottage cheese and salad
L=king prawns,crab sticks and salad
D= turkey stir fry with Chinese five spice (heaven), sf jelly and yog.

Alouisee · 19/01/2012 20:50

I couldn't find zero fat mozzarella so I just used sainsburys reduced fat mozzarella. For the topping I drained a tin of tomatoes which we are allowed on pv days, added some onion and more reduced fat mozzarella. Next time it will be anchovies and tuna.

Mollyfloss · 19/01/2012 21:35

Hello! In relation to the 'tiny' comments most of the people at the birthday party hadn't seen me in a month or two and I still had fair bit of baby weight then. Some of the weight had naturally fallen off before I started Dukan, the way that baby weight does. Sill needed to do this to shift last few pounds.

This morning I had no brekkie then met a friend after dropping kids off and in the cafe there was nothing dukan friendly so had to resort to an omelette with cheese & broccoli on the side (the omelettes were already made so couldn't have without cheese). I was annoyed with myself but beyond starvation so just had to eat.

Dreading the PP day tomorrow. PP & veg is SO much nicer.

drywhiteplease · 19/01/2012 21:56

Do you think it is ok on cruise phase to do alternate pp and pv during week and pv on weekend?or do you have to be strict in alternate days?

Alouisee · 19/01/2012 21:59

I read on one of the forums that you could alter it to please yourself but be prepared for a slower weightloss.

One thing I might do is pp mon/weds/fri then pv tues/thurs/sat/sun. Weekends are the hardest for me and if I can have a roast chicken with vegetables I'm less likely to crumble and order in a Chinese.

drywhiteplease · 19/01/2012 22:13

Those are exactly the days I have been doing .my thinking was that then I could have veg at weekend family meals .
Did you start a couple of days before me? ( sun jan 8).how much have you lost/ are you hoping to loose ?

dandelionss · 19/01/2012 22:27

Does anyone know if fat free hard cheese like mozarella and cheddar are available in the UK? I have seen them talked about a lot on US websites but can't recall seeing it in shops.I'm struggling to even find fromage frais now.Everywhere used to sell it but now I only see it in a large branch of sainsbury 20 miles away.none of the smaller local supermarkets.

Dastardly27 · 20/01/2012 06:02

Ah Molly. I would do the same as you - make excuses as to why people commented on your tinyness. You must have shrunk. I know I don't give out compliments easily. Good for you.
Drywhite - at least you can pop down to the shop to buy your jellies. My son AND husband both love them.
Had SWI(sneaky weigh in) this morning and am 4.7kg down since starting this, January 1st. I am sure that my 1.4kg loss from yesterday is due to the, in total, 2hr walk I did yesterday. Feet still flipping aching as wore daft boots! What a boost going into the weekend.

Alouisee · 20/01/2012 07:00

Congratulations Dastardly :o

Dandelions I can find fat free fromage frais & quark but the cottage cheese is 1.5 % fat. The dukan website says to keep fat content under 3% but even in the big supermarkets I struggle to find cheese under 5%. I guess the Americans create more demand for it.

DryWhite I started on 4th January,I'm 11 lbs down with another 13lbs to go to get to my Dukan weight. I actually want to be a few pounds lighter than that so I'll see how I go.

I like my weightbot app for IPhone, I've been tracking since day one and it charts the loss for you.

drywhiteplease · 20/01/2012 08:43

dastardlyandal well done...all v encouraging.

Really fed up as weight loss after first week on cruise 1/2lb!!!!gutted. Makes total weight loss to date 6lb and really wanted to get to 1/2stone.have not cheated at all but did go crazy with stir fry yesterday so could be veg.will perhaps change weigh in day to Sat so it is after a pp day.

Bother.

drywhiteplease · 20/01/2012 08:45

P.s also fed up as my baby became a teenager today and is bigger and heavier than me! What happened?!

dandelionss · 20/01/2012 09:24

Drywhtite if you haven't cheated you will have lost far more than 0.5 lb of fat, like you say it is just being camouflaged by the water content in the veg.But I know what you mean it is so satisfying to see the scales move!

...and yes they grow up so fast, especially the youngest .My 'baby' seems to have got to nearly 7 when I wasn't looking!Got 2 teenagers too and a 10 yr old

dandelionss · 20/01/2012 09:27

This morning's way in down 1.6 lb, making 5.2 over the 5 days of attack.Starting cruise today .never been so pleased to eat vegetables!!

made a dip from yogurt and mustard and carrot,0pepper and celery stips for my packed lunch a long with some spicy chicken pieces left over from my dinner last night, and going to have a go at cauliflower pizza tonight.

IWantToGoToThere · 20/01/2012 09:36

Brilliant results dastardly and al. I weighed in at 200g lighter this morning so a total for me of 1.3kg or 2.8lb after 4 days on attack. Given these results, I've decided to stay on attack for 7 days (plan said 6) which means I get to eat veges on Monday - yum!! I still want to lose another 700g or 1.5lb by Monday morning to bring my weight loss up to 2kg (4.4lb) for the week on attack. I am starting to fear that I will be the only person for whom this diet doesn't mean really fast results :( I have however been home sick with a really bad cold for 2 days so perhaps lack of exercise (even the prescribed half hour walk) has really hindered me. Need to get shredding!

The pizza recipe looks delish - but is it only for consolidation and beyond? The website has red crosses next to Attack and Cruise. It's probably the cheese?

dandelionss · 20/01/2012 09:57

There's a tick next to cruise phase -veg and protein.I don't know I'm confused ! they say 0% cheese but i don't know whete you would find that?

Mollyfloss · 20/01/2012 10:34

Morning!

Dastartdly & Alouisee & Danedlioness: Great weight loss! I'm impressed!

Drywhite: Don't get disheartened. 6lbs is a really great weight loss. You don't have that much to lose but when it comes down to only having a few lbs left to lose it is hard. I haven't shifted anything in a few days. Only 5 lbs left to go but they're refusing to budge!

On a dreaded PP day here although brekkie was actually quite nice
Omelette with onions
Smoked salmon (with pepper & lemon)
0% cottage cheese

Mollyfloss · 20/01/2012 10:38

Can someone tell me more about the shred? I'm trying to get to the gym 3 times a week (core training etc) as it's so hard to work out at home but maybe I should give it a try? How long is each session, is there lot's of cardio?
