Thanks drywhite. Do you think 2lb a week is unrealistic on Dukan? From reading the book and blogs by people who have done it, I thought I was projecting it about right. I know that some weeks I won't lose so much (if retaining water etc) on the scale, but that just motivates me to be more disciplined the following week. I really hope I can lose 2lb a week - otherwise I might as well do weightwatchers or something where I can at least drink wine!!

I'd love to go back to the gym but I just have no time. It's going to be hard enough fitting in the half an hour with Jillian each night, but I really need to shift some weight before my holiday.

Definitely take the car to work btw

drywhiteplease · 18/01/2012 14:29

iwant togo I think 2lb a week realistic and what I am expecting after attack.by the end of attack I would expect a 5lb loss as it says in book.hope it did not sound as if I was saying otherwise.how long you doing attack for?

So far today .pp

B= galette with cottage cheese
L=chicken breast in yogurt and curry sauce and 6 meatballs with mustard.
Vanilla activia.

Now making birthday cake.bother! Cake not my thing but licking bowl is !!!!!!

minceorotherwise · 18/01/2012 17:08

Fish stick purchased and all is well with the world !!!
Mince and onions with carrot and swede mash for dinner !

drywhiteplease · 18/01/2012 18:29

Yum mince. Dried out ,over cooked meatballs here, and I forgot the bloody crab sticks ! Anyone else having memory probs since starting?must be lack of carbs...but with all the oily fish I am eating I should surely be more intelligent !

drywhiteplease · 18/01/2012 18:51

btw you might find this interesting...or is it just me being obssessed/anally retentive/sad boring reformed wine drinker, but 2ltr fluid equates to 7 mugs (tea, coffee)worth. When you think about it like that it does not seem so much does it?!!!!( back to my train spotting now!)

Mollyfloss · 18/01/2012 18:57

Iwant: I think losing 2lb per wk is def achievable on Dukan. Stick to it and odn;t forget to drink lot's of water! Exercise is important too but diet is what really shifts the weight. Brisk walk as much aspossible, don't take lifts or escalators etc.

dandelionss: I think you might need to drink more water.

My weight was up 1lb this morning compared to yesterday but I think that can happen after a veg day. I'm on a pp day and was at a kids birthday party where they had lot's of nice food for the adults too. I didn't eat a thing but succumbed to a glass of champagne - damn. It was not worth it. Really silly but will stay on pp for rest of day and looking forward to veg tomorrow. On the up side practically everyone mentioned how 'tiny' I looked :) :) :)

Dastardly27 · 18/01/2012 19:35

Hello! I do like my SF jellies, I must confess. Having them with the yogurts is like having a lovely dessert. Two good days again now, PP, and a 2hr walk this morning. My stomach is definitely much flatter so that's good.

Dastardly27 · 18/01/2012 19:36

Molly - great about the compliment.

minceorotherwise · 18/01/2012 20:42

Dry, so 3 venti lattes should just about do it then ?! Tried my first jellies today, double yum!! Have done 8 crab sticks and two jellies before dinner....may just ditch dinner now !! Sad news about the meatballs!!!! Sadder news about the forgotten crabsticks ( just noticed autocorrect make that crabs ticks !! Don't think they would be so nice, and would probably have carbs in them....)

Mollyfloss · 18/01/2012 20:52

Just had brown stew. I put carrotts in them for DH but picked mine out. It seems a little unnatural to take out carrotts but looking forward to veg tomorrow. Just making a ratatouille. I'll do spicy meatballs too. I've made many times pre diet. It's great! (Will just do the dip with 0% yoghurt and not have the pitta)

drywhiteplease · 18/01/2012 21:09

mollyif there is acheat that is excusable in my book it must surely be champagne.......good on you. And people noticing your weight loss must have given you a boost.
mince love the venti lattes!
dastardly might get the sf jelly, getting a bit bored now, need to introduce something new.

Mollyfloss · 18/01/2012 22:01

Thanks drywhite. The fact that people actually notice the weight loss is nice but I mustn't let it get to me head and keep my eye on the prize - just a few more pounds! I wonder are all these 0% yoghurts ok. I had about 5 today.

drywhiteplease · 18/01/2012 22:09

I think so...does say protein foods can be eaten without limit.is anyone else making constant trips to supermarket for prawns/yogurts/eggs/chicken.....it's endless but hopefully worth it.

I have just tried my fav evening dress on that was just too tight....and it fits! When I hit my target weight I think I will try my wedding dress on!

Mollyfloss · 18/01/2012 22:18

Well done drywhite! Great about the dress. I have a couple I need to try on. I'm technically down to my pre pregnancy weight but I yo yo a bit there so want to lose another 5 lbs to give me some leeway although I would like to stabilise there. Weight aside my body is a wreck after having 3 babies in 3 yrs and 4 months. Bit of a ventral hernia giving me a pot belly regardless how much weight I lose and loose skin on the belly and saggy boobs (except when they are full of milk!). Not much I can do about all that except for surgery.

I am also having lot's of chicken, prawns etc. Makes veg seem exciting!

drywhiteplease · 18/01/2012 22:20

All being said your friends said you looked tiny.

Mollyfloss · 18/01/2012 22:27

Well, they were being nice :) The saggy skin on the belly and droopy boobs are not a weight issue and can't be seen with clothes on.

minceorotherwise · 19/01/2012 00:31

Molly, I feel your pain. The saggy boobs ain't gonna disappear with Dukan, but how I wish....I'm heading for the extremely attractive ' scoop em up, flatten them out ' bra.....

IWantToGoToThere · 19/01/2012 09:12

What a great compliment Molly, must have been a real boost. I am some pounds away from hearing anything similar sadly!

Dandelionss, I am in the same boat with you, scale-result-wise. I did have a better loss this morning though - 500g which is about a pound. So after 3 days on attack, I'm down 1.1kg in total or almost 2.5lb. I know that's a good result after 3 days but given that this is such a restrictive diet, I was kind of hoping for more like 20kg

Dry White fitting your evening dress is a great NSV (non scale victory!). Those are my favourite kinds of victories. I'm still some way off fitting in to my wedding dress, but pre-baby clothes will be a great start!

I wish this damn cold would go so that I can start exercising. I try and take the stairs when I can (living in a 3 storey house helps). On the plus side, I have no appetite whatsoever.

dandelionss · 19/01/2012 10:01

aaagh!! Put on 0.6lb today
so far after 1 day -3.4 lb
2 day -0.2 lb
3 day 0 lb
4 day +0.6 lb

i can't understand why, I am following the diet religiously.I have done more walking though and more than 2 sets of the Dukan resistance exercises.I am hoping it is because am laying down more muscle, but it's very demotivating when the scales are not saying what I want!

minceorotherwise · 19/01/2012 10:25

Dandelions, keep going, it could be just that. I am finding it hard to track because I never weigh myself. I just go by how I feel and which clothes are now fitting! So if you are feeling and fitting better, that's a much better benchmark for how you are doing than what the scales are saying

drywhiteplease · 19/01/2012 10:33

dandelionss just keep going!

Had to laugh at supermarket checkout at contents of my basket just now,may as well have had arrow pointing to head saying "brutal Dukan diet"!!!

1 big roast beef joint
1 pack of activia vanilla
1 pot total 0% Greeley yog
4 sugar free jellies ( to mix with Greeley you dastardly)
3 packs crab stick (do they really make you pee pink?!!)
1 pack leeks
1 pack chicken breasts
1pack turkey breast

And that is a top up shop.!!
The checkout lady must have thought I was some crazy meat eater !

drywhiteplease · 19/01/2012 10:34

Greek yogurt!!!!!!!!! Bloody predictive text

dandelionss · 19/01/2012 10:37

Thanks mince. It would be so like me to just give up, but not this time!

Molly - congratulations! You must be looking fab to get all those compliments!!

minceorotherwise · 19/01/2012 10:40

Just realised my name is particularly apt for this thread !!!!

Dastardly27 · 19/01/2012 12:00

Ha ha, drywhite. You do wonder though don't you? I have already decided that when I need to buy more oat bran then I am not buying it with a meat shop. The crab sticks have not changed the colour of my wee. This day is going well so far. Going to walk and have a wee look in shops this afternoon. All adds up doesn't it?
