Kinky it is mind over matter I believe! can you go for a short and brisk walk?
And how is Dd?

MarleysBra · 07/02/2012 17:42

Hello Paulers. I've sinned. I've fallen off the enlightened Pauling way big time. Will try and listen to PMK my ipod tonight. It's the only way I can do it. Give me a big kick if you see me elsewhere on MN.

Weigh in tomorrow and a new start on its way.

BigBoobiedBertha · 07/02/2012 17:48

Kinky - Don't be too hard on yourself. It is quite an accomplishment to get out of the door I reckon. If you ate a bit too much tea tonight then it isn't the end of the world. If you think you might start eating again how about having a drink instead? Something like a hot chocolate which tastes nice but won't lead you to bad habits.

But you do know that Ferroro Roche are yucky don't you? You don't want them really. Bin them. Go on, I dare you!Grin

I do remember your big walks Solo. I was going to mention it but thought it might sounds a bit sad, remembering something from so long ago! Didn't want you to think I was keeping tabs! Smile

If you are up to some walking could you park a little further away than normal from the school and build up gently if you feel you need to exercise? That way you could pace yourself and adjust it to match how you are feeling each day. I suppose it requires time management which would be beyond me. I would never leave enough time to walk!

Whilst we are on the topic of saddo things to remember - who was it who joined this thread for a while and then left because she got pregnant? I was wondering if she might have had her baby by now but I can't remember her name or even if it was the Pauling threads or the earlier ones. How is your head for names Solo?

SOLOmanPross · 07/02/2012 17:53

Mardy I was just thinking to PM you! I PM'd Jenda the other day. And I wonder if Florence is Ok.

It was this thread I think BBB I will try to find her.

I could try the drive to a spot and then walk, but I'd feel even more guilty about driving such a short distance Blush. I'm really bad with time management too...Lord knows how I'll leave my house at 05:45 when I return to work.

MarleysBra · 07/02/2012 17:55

Thanks for thinking about me Solo. I've got a bit of time off next week over half term, so will try and focus a bit more.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/02/2012 17:59

Kinky I won't kick your arse, the first day into a new routine is always knackering.
Can you pre-empt the exhaustion by eating something mid afternoon so that you aren't so starving when you get through the door?
I mealplan for the week so that I don't actually have to cook, as such, Monday-Thursday. If I have an especially hectic day with the boys, or like today when DS2 is poorly and just wants to be carried and cuddled all the time then it was too easy to order pizza or get crap ready meals from the supermarket (which is less than 2 minutes walk from my house). We were spending a fortune and putting on weight.
Monday we have 'wash day dinner' ie. cold roast meat with freshly cooked veg and jacket potatoes
Tuesday and Wednesday we have something I've previously batch cooked and frozen (this week it will be bolognaise and sausage casserole) and then Thursday we have fish and chips out of the freezer.

It is saving me hours of time, and several pounds in both cash and weight!

Sorry reading that back it sounds really preachy Blush, but it works really well for me so I wanted to share incase it is useful to you.

I completely agree about Shred btw, the whole point of PMK is that you don't need punishing exercise to lose weight.
For me it is more about putting some muscle back on, I have lost so much over the years that I've been pregnant and BFing - too much sitting on arse eating cake!!! Grin

SOLOmanPross · 07/02/2012 18:13

TethHearseEnd I'm assuming she is also tethersend and I've just been searching for her under both nn's, but she's not posted this year...I've PM'd her, so we shall see ~ hopefully.

SOLOmanPross · 07/02/2012 18:14

Blimey! I feel a bit school ma'am like! Blush

'Get yourself back to class young laydee'

MarleysBra · 07/02/2012 18:47

Solo - I need a good kick up my large wobbly the arse!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/02/2012 19:27

I'm sure I've seen her around Solo, she is mostly on S&B where I lurk sometimes hoping to pick up the odd tip! Grin

KinkyDorito · 07/02/2012 19:29

Thanks all of you Thanks Thanks Thanks Smile. It's nice to have somewhere to have a moan: I think DH gets sick of me Grin.

I did haul myself onto the crosstrainer, and it was tough, but I'm happy I did it.

Meals tend to be us all eating together at 5pm, so not too bad. We aren't really getting many takeaways at the moment as I'm trying to be more careful with money too. I usually cook. So, tonight we had vegetable stew with quorn sausages and mini yorkshire puddings. They had buttered tiger loaf for dunking. It was nice, and not too calorific, but I still ate beyond what I should have.

BBB Chuck my ferrero! Never! Grin I bought them for me, because, after hinting at Christmas and getting none, I thought now was the time to get some. Just because it is. They are lovely.

Ali Thanks. I've started to do things like freezer fish and chips as a treat for mine rather than takeaway. Our takeaways aren't that great, so it's a nice, cheap tea for them that they will eat. I want to get my garage fixed and electric back out to it so I can get a chest freezer. I used to live on the Old Style boards on Money Saving Expert and got so many great batch cooking ideas, I just don't have the freezer space to do much of it.

Solo DD made it to school today for the first time in 3 weeks and looked fairly perky. Long may it continue! Hospital on Friday to see liver specialist and try to get to the bottom of whatever else is going on.

Good evening to everyone else Smile.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 07/02/2012 19:50

Hooray to DD making it to school! Grin I agree, take life as you find it. Don't beat yourself up, you're doing brilliantly under the circumstances. Doesn't sound like you're being 'unhealthy', just try to follow the rules kinks.
I am a bit sniffly and didn't feel like exercising tonight but I'm not stressing about it. Sometimes you need to get prices for holidays Wink and get an early night!

KinkyDorito · 07/02/2012 20:48

Prices for holidays is a highly legitimate use of an evening. Where are you going Phoenix? I'm off to sunny Warwickshire in June to see my in-laws. Unfortunately we can't do overseas until DD has finished treatment as it's just too risky. I will certainly be planning something splendid and probably Italian for the year after... Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/02/2012 21:43

Ooh Phoenix I am Envy Where are you thinking of going?
We were planning a week in Cornwall at Bedruthan Steps because they have childcare but that is very much on hold until we have some income again. At the moment we plan to visit my parents house in France for a couple of weeks, hopefully when they are there too to help out a bit with the boys and perhaps DH and I can slope off for lunch or dinner on our own once or twice!!

Kinky at least you know you've overeaten though, and there are times in life where you just have to tread water. If it is too hard, then let it go a little and provided you don't pile loads back on and feel miserable then that is ok I think - that is how I try to think about it when I'm struggling.
Yay for going to school! I hope Friday is productive.

Yum to buttered tiger loaf. Or giraffe loaf as Sainsbury's now call it.

No Shred today, I've got DS2's cold, but I will do some yoga before bed and some of ppeat's muffin busters.

Mardy I x-posted with you earlier. Don't beat yourself up, I think most of us here have had various false starts with this and fallings off the wagon. :)

stripygiraffe · 07/02/2012 22:23

Hi everyone. I think I have pulled myself out of Strugglers' Corner Grin. A combination of drinking more water but also Shredding and listening to Paul in the evening kills time that I would have been bored and munching.

Hi to all. If I can turn it around anyone can.

SOLOmanPross · 08/02/2012 00:32

Excellent! Kinky

Keep up the good work everyone.

Ali feel better soon.

Well done stripy

Night all.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 08/02/2012 06:59

Ali, if I'm not up the duff, Fuerteventura. Went last year in March. Twas warm and sunny. All inclusive means we didn't have to worry about anything. If by some miracle I am thid month, it'll be a UK trip...DH wants to surprise me!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/02/2012 07:59

Warm sounds good! And ttc - how exciting!

Having a thin (comparatively) day today, jeans are considerably looser! Hooray for PMK and the Shred Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/02/2012 08:11

Solo I meant to say, you shouldn't feel bad about a short drive, really. 3 miles is quite a long walk when you haven't been doing any, especially when you have health problems. Do what you need to do.

ppeatfruit · 08/02/2012 11:23

Hello everyoneSmile Smile !!!! thanks for the kind words. Just popping in to mark my space, there's a lot to read on here !!!!

I love the snow which is lucky SOLO 'cos it's a white out here and the plane was diverted yesterday 'cos there was too much ice and snow on the runaway it's minus 12 at night Shock i'm getting out the sledge this arvo!!!!

SoloSewsSeedsOfLoveInPatchwork · 08/02/2012 11:50

Hey!!! pp where are you right now?

ppeatfruit · 08/02/2012 16:49

I'm at home in Fr. between Tours and Poitiers. solo your name changes SOO much !!

I agree with BBB about exercise IMO when you get slim with full on shred type exercise the minute you stop you just get flabby and the weight goes back on if you're not VERY careful. So much better to do something you really enjoy and will continue doing. I also agree about those rubbishy Ferero Choc type thingies ;give me some REAL dark 70% choc any day Smile YUM

Welcome to all the newbies who seem really switched on!

ppeatfruit · 08/02/2012 16:52

Oh and obviously hello great to be back to all Smile And the new thread title sounds fine to me Solo.

KinkyDorito · 08/02/2012 20:51

Oi! Stop picking on my ferrero rocher.

The ambassador eats them, so they must be posh Wink.

KinkyDorito · 08/02/2012 20:53

See! See! They are a sign of good taste.
