alibaba - keep going with the shred, i have tried it a few times before but gave up quickly, i have now done 9days of it and feeling much better. i am going to stick to it this time Smile

stripygiraffe · 30/01/2012 12:34

Hi guys me again.

The later breakfast meant I didn't want a morning snack but I was ready for my lunch at just before midday. I had a roll with cold meat and salad. In the not-too-distant-past I would have had two but I wouldn't dream of it now Smile

I've just listened to the trance as I'm just not fitting it in before bed these days. I may also listen after dinner as this is my tricky time.

Thanks for the company Kinky and Ali.

Can someone tell me about shredding?

KinkyDorito · 30/01/2012 13:25

Had a tub of fresh pineapple and a mullerlight for lunch. Fancied something sweet.

I am in the doghouse having spent silly amounts of money at the shops. I get that way out from time to time. It didn't help me to find out that my car needs 4 new tyres. I was anticipating this, that's why I drove into the garage and asked. MOT in a fortnight just got very, very expensive and I don't know if it needs anything else doing yet. Gah. Maybe should take the pricey perfume back... Then again, maybe not. DD and I are smelling fab at the moment Grin. It compensates for how rubbish we look!

stripygiraffe · 30/01/2012 19:40

Me again.

I had two of my home baking products this afternoon but I was hungry and it's what I wanted.

Dinner was Morrocan Tagine but I bulked it out with fresh veg. I am satisfyingly full now and I'm going to have an early night do I can listen to the trance again.

I also bought a new battery for my scales. I know, I know I'm not supposed to weigh daily but I was devastated to not lose anything. I'd rather know mid week so I can up my game.

I ordered the Shred DVD today. Ouchie.

KinkyDorito · 30/01/2012 20:24

I weigh every day as I am really crushed if I get to the end of the week and have gained. I can take the daily fluctuation, but not getting my hopes up and then having them dashed.

I had a weirdy stew thing mid afternoon and possibly ate a bit much of it. It was mainly veg (with beans and brown rice), but I think the overeat compulsion came from PMS. I then did my crosstrainer. I had 2 slices of rye toast after this with peanut butter. I might have some miso later.

Well done on a good day stripy. Smile

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 30/01/2012 20:44

I am not Shredding tonight, I have got a headache and I am tired.

Kinky your stew sounds lovely, I love brown rice.

Hope everyone has had good days :)

movingonwardsorsidewards · 30/01/2012 21:18

stripy - shed is great, its hard work but it does work quickly, but jillan micheals gets annoying so i put my own music on while doing the dvd.

Today i was at home as dd kept me awake all night last night and i listened to the cd this afternoon, wow it seemed really long, normally i only hear the first 5-10 mins of it Hmm . The advice in it was great, and i'm wondering if others feel it doesnt work so well if you keep going to sleep within the first few mins? Paul Mck says its ok as he is talking to the unconcious mind, but just wondering what you all think?

i want to download the cd to either my iphone or mp3 player, i think the iphone will be better as i never seem to be successful in downloading onto my mp3 player. can anyone give me tips on how to do this?

Stase · 30/01/2012 21:27

Hi all, I have about a stone and a half to lose post DC3. I'm generally rubbish at dieting, but it's not that I don't know what's healthy (when not having babies I am a Chef for a cancer charity), it's just that I don't do self-restraint/denial very well, and have a seriously sweet tooth. I also comfort eat, and finish of the kids' chips without thinking about it. Does this Paul McKenna non-diet thing sound like I might suit it? I have thought about hypnotherapy for over-eating before, but it costs so much! Is this worth a go?
TIA

BigBoobiedBertha · 30/01/2012 22:17

Moving - I have just got an iPhone and the other lovely ladies guided me through the uploading/downloading business. Basically put the CD onto iTunes via your computer and then copy it across to your phone from there. Mine copied automatically when I plugged it in whilst I was in iTunes. It was so easy I am not really sure what happened, just those 2 basic steps.Blush

WRT the CD, I think there is a difference between being asleep and being under the influence of the CD. On a couple of occasions, when I have been listening to it in bed and very tired, I have gone to sleep and not woken up until morning. The rest of the time I hear nothing after about the first 10-15 minutes until he gets to the bit where he says, '...and when I count backwards from 3, you will wake up. 3,2,1 and you are wide awake'. (or something like that) and I am. Well, conscious if not wide awake. I am actually woken up by the PMcK not by the end of the CD or anything. It is weird because I am actually quite resistent to the idea of having my mind messed with and yet he does just that.

So yes, I do think it is OK if you aren't conscious and I don't think you are asleep if you can be woken up by what he says. If you don't come back to at the end of the CD then I think that you may be properly asleep so I am not sure if that would work. Depends how much you heard before you fell properly asleep I suppose.

Stase - welcome! I think many of us would agree that using the CD and the hypnotherapy is actually the key to Pauling. Otherwise it is just one person trying to exert their willpower over what they eat which is no different from any diet. I reckon anybody could give it a go and the beauty of it is you haven't signed up for anything nor are you required to eat any special diet so if you find you don't like it, no harm done. We are always around to chat to and share experiences with. As I said to Moving I reckon the CD does properly hypnothise you so if it appeals to you it is worth a go.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 31/01/2012 07:12

Yes Stase I think it would work for you. I too know what I should eat but had either been on restrictive diets or was
'Cheating' and feeling guilty. Now I can.eat whatever I fancy, I'm motivated to exercise and I'm still losing weight.
moving I've got it on my HTC. That way I can play it at night without it whirring on a cd and listen using headphones if I want.

stripygiraffe · 31/01/2012 10:17

Morning all and welcome Stase

Well I had a good day yesterday. I sat and had a glass of wine after my dinner but felt no need to snack. Hurrah!

I walked halfway back from DD's nursery this morning. It's about 1.5 miles and I'll need to do it again later to get my car.

Ppeat I'm also going start doing your muffin top buster exercise.

I am so motivated by all you guys doing running and shredding. Wink

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 31/01/2012 11:48

stripy you sound much more positive today :)

I'm having another good day today, I am almost pinching myself to wake up because I can't believe how well this is working for me atm.

DorisIsWaiting · 31/01/2012 20:19

Seems abit quieter on this thread now, come on ladies give me some postive encouragement tell me how it's all going fanstastically!!

I did cheat and sneak onto the scales after my run the other day and they were reading in the 12 st bracket however I refuse to add it into my little notebook as it wasn't a proper weighin on weigh day (sunday morning was a bad day to start as it means there is no opportunity of overindulgence friday or sat although I imagine that is perfect for PM),

I'm picking up speed in my eating again I think I need to find the time to reread the book. ...and then keep going back to it some more.

DorisIsWaiting · 31/01/2012 20:22

Don't think I read the last posts properly....there some very postive stories!!! well done Ali, and Stripey, and Phoenix

stase give it a go...I feel healthier 4 weeks in.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 31/01/2012 21:06

I have a weigh and measure at my gym on Friday...I'm actually excited! Reckon it'll be great! :)
I had planned to run tonight but it was freezing so I went to the gym instead. I like my motivation for either/or.
doris what's your goal? I started at 13'4, aiming for about 10'7 in the end. I'm 5'4.5".

KinkyDorito · 31/01/2012 21:55
Shock

I went to pizza hut for tea. It was lovely to all be out together: we've not done anything like that for ages.

Shock Shock Shock

I left with over half of my pizza in a box. I think the most I've ever taken away in a box before is one slice of large stuffed crust. This was regular thin crust. I ate a bit of free salad too, but stopped when I was nicely full.

I love, love, love PMK.

I will be mostly having pizza for lunch tomorrow too. Excellent. Grin

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 31/01/2012 22:18

It's great when you see it coming together like that, isn't it Dorito?

My most eye-opening thing was when the Indian I would usually eat in one sitting (and go to bed feeling bloated and extremely uncomfortable) did me dinner one night, then lunch and dinner again the next!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 31/01/2012 22:30

Doris - yay for the scales creeping into the 12st. bracket, I can't wait for that. I am currently 13 6.5 - and it is such a long time since they said 12 anything!!

Phoenix how amazing to be looking forward to getting weighed! Grin

Kinky well done, I love Pizza Hut I have to say. Yum to cold pizza for lunch tomorrow, just yum.

I have Shredded. I didn't really want to but I made myself, and once I was 5 minutes in it was fine and I actually enjoyed it! Just having a hot chocolate and then off for a shower and bed.

Solo · 31/01/2012 22:50

Hello everyone! :) It's 1st Feb tomorrow and I plan to listen to the cd and actually read some of the book, which I've never actually done before! Do you realise that it's almost a year since 'meeting' PMK in London?!

I went up to 13st 12 1/2lbs a couple of weeks ago, but have come back down to 13st 6 1/2. I'm pretty sure it was the two visits from Aunt Flo in a month that caused the b lip, but I'm glad that it's come back off and I feel a little more motivated to actually try harder after reading about Doris being in the 12st something bracket, because lets face it, if I lose half a stone more, I too will be in there Grin and then it's not so far to go to my goal.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 01/02/2012 08:19

kinky it's great isn't it? Being able to go out for dinner, really enjoy it but not feel over stuffed later! We had a pub dinner Saturday...my family were surprised when I stopped half way but I was doing the cutlery thing...I had steak and chips. It was great! Guilt free :)
solo, go for it!
sparkling are you still lurking?

DorisIsWaiting · 01/02/2012 12:39

I'm not counting my 12 st something yet as it wasn't on weigh day!!Grin

Am supposed to be running tonight but have council meeting ... hey ho, didn't listen to the cd last night as ipod out of charge but feeling full after lunch so probably ate too much (I'm eating crackers as yeast makes me bloat hugely, but I find it really hard to work out how many I want). Bugger.

I'm also 5'4"" so something in the 10st range would be fantastic as I can't rember the last time I was anything near there.

I weighed myself on new years day and I was 13' 7" (and a 1/2) so it's 7lbs down.... in the right direction slowly and surely.

And most importantly WITH NICE FOOD!

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 01/02/2012 19:49

I go down to 10'11" with weight watchers..could never get below that. Gave it up in the end, gained it all back and more!
Yes, I love that I'm enjoying good food, things taste so nice, especially non 'dieting' food :)
We just have to keep going! I've been for another run tonight, managed 2.24 miles over 31:43 minutes, my first run was 1.8 miles over 25 minutes. Getting there slowly!

BigBoobiedBertha · 01/02/2012 20:40

Lots of good news and positivity on this thread at the moment. Well done losers! Grin

I had a bit of a weird thing happen last night. I listened to the CD in bed and stayed awake for a quite a lot of it so was very aware of the visualisation bits. All good but then I had a weird dream that I was being persued with an ex-boyfriend from long long ago (well I have been married nearly 19 years) and I was like I visualised when I was listening to the CD, ie. very different from reality. Not sure why but it has been playing on my mind all day even though I can't remember the details any more.

Anybody else who listens at night think it messes with their dreams? I don't normally remember my dreams so it has all been a bit odd.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/02/2012 07:57

Well i fell off the wagon rather yesterday, ate too much and ignored the fact that I wasn't hungry.

DH had an interview, and we really want him to get the job. I have been putting a brave face on and I still am to him but I am terrified and the cracks are starting to show - to me anyway!

Ho hum, so today is a new day and I will do better. I measured myself and I have lost one of the inches from my waist that I wanted to.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/02/2012 07:58

BBB - I don't dream at the moment, at all. I think I am too tired! Sounds weird though. Can you listen at another time of day or is it too hard to fit in?
