Starting a low carb diet - anyone interested in going for it with me?!

I did this very successfully indeed for about 6 weeks in the run up to the summer break. I have been trying to lose weight for a while and was doing OK but then reached a plateau which was when I decided to try something new. And I easily lost a stone doing this.

It was hard in the beginning, for about the first week, then I sort of settled in to it and it just became how it was. And I like the rules of it, because you just can't cheat on it. But it was sometimes hard juggling what the family were going to eat.

I have been cutting down since Tuesday, but will be going for it completely on Monday 5th. I want to lose a stone. Is anyone interested??!!!

Nice chooky - I will try that, and BIWI - we all look forward to seeing how well you do next Friday then!

I am being very good as DH has opened a bottle of wine and I have refused any.

Well I could allow myself one, but as I've got a boozy night coming up, I thought it best not to indulge.

DH is on a really nice red wine so a slim gin for me.

That's good of you, BIWI. I'm afraid my resolve just goes when someone else offers me wine.

Late night for me - dd1 has driven off with a friend to cinema for midnight showing of Twilight and I won't sleep till she's home and safe. They have no lessons in the morning but I still have to be up early.

Stuck to the plan really well today - just want to be thin NOW.

Since you included me on your list I thought I had better write mine on. Had a really good week and not cheated at all plus a fair amount of exercise but all could go wrong this weekend as I'm off to a hot springs resort with 5 girl friends. I'm taking vodka and soda to stop me drinking too much wine but as we are stopping at a winery on the way for lunch I don't like my chances!! Will try to stick to low carb food though.

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 18/11/2011 08:14

Everyone is doing so well with their weight loss!

I thought I'd got the hang of 20g carbs, but have since realised tofu has far more in it than what Elliot says in her book, so I've been a bit over.

I've ordered the original atkins book to read, along with some ketostix, so I hope that I will get a grip of this once and for all!

Well I haven't quite caught up with where I was, but I'm really pleased to report that I was another 1/2lb down this morning, making it a total of 6.25 lbs, since Monday Grin

I'm working all day today and not finishing until 7.30pm, so I have a get-out-of-jail-free card for this evening. I really don't fancy schlepping up from Wimbledon into town at that time of night to eat and drink a whole load of stuff which is only going to sabotage my efforts so far.

So, a night in with MN and Children in Need. Hurrah!

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 18/11/2011 08:56

BIWI I think I'm going to have to lay off the atkins and follow your patented CP.

I want a halo... Do they come as part of the CP? Grin

BecauseImWorthIt · 18/11/2011 09:44

If you're really lucky you can have one with fairy lights on it!
Grin

goingmadinthecountry · 18/11/2011 10:17

BIWI that's fantastic!

I'm trying to avoid the munchies today - am tired and at home allegedly cleaning etc. I always have more self control when I'm out.

Still haven't plucked up the courage to weigh myself I'm afraid but I can assure you my wobbly bits are a bit less wobbly this week Grin.

KinkyDoritoWithJingleBellsOn · 18/11/2011 11:04

goingmad snap! I am allegedly cleaning too! What this means is I'm sitting on the sofa with a decaff coffee and MN, surveying the chaos around me and trying to persuade myself that I need to tidy it as I have a visitor from work at around 3pm today and at the moment it looks, frankly, ridiculous in here. Argh.

BIWI oooooo. I really want one with fairy lights. In fact, I'm going to get some now...

KinkyDoritoWithFairyLightsOn · 18/11/2011 11:09

So I have some now.

I wanted to be KinkyDoritowithFairyLightsANDJingleBellsOn but it was too many characters. Stupid rules Grin.

I love the idea of subscribing to The BIWI and getting a free halo with inbuilt fairy lights!

Well I lost another two pounds this week and that means...

It is quite extraordinary and I am so chuffed, so since I started low carbing in September I have lost 15 pounds, but it did take me a good while to get into the swing of it, I kept cocking up. I'm not stopping just yet and will use low carb to maintain, but I am just so pleased Grin

And well done to everyone, and 6lbs in a week is rather brill BIWI!
