Starting a low carb diet - anyone interested in going for it with me?!

I did this very successfully indeed for about 6 weeks in the run up to the summer break. I have been trying to lose weight for a while and was doing OK but then reached a plateau which was when I decided to try something new. And I easily lost a stone doing this.

It was hard in the beginning, for about the first week, then I sort of settled in to it and it just became how it was. And I like the rules of it, because you just can't cheat on it. But it was sometimes hard juggling what the family were going to eat.

I have been cutting down since Tuesday, but will be going for it completely on Monday 5th. I want to lose a stone. Is anyone interested??!!!

i lost nothing

Spamspamspam · 28/09/2011 13:16

Custardo, Custardo....

We all know that on this diet you fluctuate day to day. You seem to be weighing daily and then getting disheartened. Only yesterday you had lost 1/2lb!!!

So take this as a slap and go back to weighing once a week woman!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/09/2011 13:54

I'm feeling stroppy too! I didn't lose weight for a while on this, then suddenly I lost 3 pounds, and now for three days I've stayed exactly the same. I've stayed in ketosis the whole time and I've been very bloody good and not even had slim gins.

But I want to take the strop one stage further and have a full on tantrum, because at the moment it feels like such an effort, and I want results Sad

Go for it ladies. I just lost 2 1/2 stone and am sitting here in a pair of size 10 jeans for the first time in my adult life. It was tough but oh so worth the suffering Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/09/2011 21:19

Arf at Kotinka!

If I haven't lost anymore tomorrow though, I will be severely piss off.

Iloveshoes-Do you mind if I ask you how long it took you to lose that 2.5 stones and whose low carb regime you followed (I am doing Pig to Twig)?

deliciousdevilwoman · 28/09/2011 21:29

Oh, and bloody well done!

Iloveshoes001 · 28/09/2011 22:11

I started on June 10th weighing 12.5 stone. Now down to just a touch under 10 stone. I didn't do low carb. I did a juice fast on and off for 45 days out of that time, healthy eating the rest of the time. NOT recommended unless you are fit and healthy, but amazingly effective and never felt better.

Iloveshoes001 · 28/09/2011 22:11

Thanks! Only took 20 years to get my act together Smile

RnB · 29/09/2011 06:28

Thanks Kotinka! Yes I have a feeling the next few weeks will be slow, week 3 and not too much left to lose...

Although when I'm on a diet and get to goal I always end up moving the goal posts and losing more weight. I think I subconsciously set my original goal at a realistic level rather than what's necessarily desirable!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/09/2011 06:36

Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh....

Fourth morning in a row the scales say 10.7.6. FFS Sad
I have been in ketosis the whole time. I'm not eating lots and not had a gin for two days.

What am I doing wrong?!
