I had a really lovely naughty dinner tonight........................

I had indian takeaway (the full works) and enjoyed every single mouthful. I might regret it next week when I weigh in but tonight it was yummy

Cheeseandbiscuits · 02/09/2011 21:40

Curry also had here after difficult eve with DD. Ah well.

kid · 02/09/2011 21:50

I'm back to work Monday so thats my new starting day, it gives me a couple more days to relax with food but I won't take too much advantage, I'll still have a healhy breakfast and snack on fruit. It should be easy not to snack on chocolate because I've eaten it all!

I've got loads of recipes to try out, just need to get some ingredients that I don't stock such as fresh root ginger and chillies. Why can't they just use dried herbs in their recipes, that would make my life a lot easier

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/09/2011 07:16

I had just had a shit day so caved in. Oh well.

Off to mums for the weekend so no idea whatr I will be eating. Its normally ok though.
Have a good day everybody!

grinningbee · 03/09/2011 08:53

Morning all!

Very Envy of all the nice naughty dinners. Have a good time at your mums Cheese.

I really really really want to eat chocolate. Guess what finally showed up 10 days late? So, that very faint line was just messing with my head. Boo! And just for laughs, at the "crucial" time in the next cycle, we will be in a caravan with Mil. I think I'll give trying this time around a miss Wink.

Thanks for the feedback on the clothes, I think I'm going to get the white one. I've already started boot hunting too. Just need to do a bit of pestering...

We don't have any mirrors at home other than the one over the bathroom sink so I never get to see myself full length. In the changing room yesterday it was quite a revelation. I can't quite believe it's me!

And at the risk of boring you all to tears - I found my SW book from when I joined waaaaaaaaaay back in March 1996 Shock. I am currently the same weight as I was 15 years ago. That time I managed to get down to 11st 5, so there's something to aim at.

Food for the day:

As much as I'd like a non-stop chocolatefest, it is

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, an apple and a yogurt
Sweet chilli chicken and roasted veggies

Sorry for the mega post Blush

I'm so chuffed for you bee ! Not about the period/caravan timing, but about the new jeans and new you! Does feel fab to look in the changing room mirrors and smile doesn't it? Grin

If you fancy some chocolate, can you not have a little and use your syns up on it? I usually have a cup of 40kcal hot chocolate with a chocolate Alpen Light for my choccy fix, or a couple of squares of dark chocolate.

Also agree with the others re: the clothes, prefer the black and white one. I'm considering trying shopping in charity shops for some autumn/winter wear. In my head, I'll find some expensive labels that fit like a glove, for £1. In reality, I'll find some old Peacocks crap in every size apart from the one I want. Gonna try going to a posh nearby town in hope of the former Wink

Have a lovely time at your Mum's cheese

whatkungfuthat · 03/09/2011 09:47

Morning all. I like the black and white dress too bee but then I dress like a fat goth spanish widow so you may not want to take advice from me Grin

kid I buy chilli and ginger in those squirty tubes and leave them in the freezer, they don't freeze totally so I just get them out and squirt into the recipe as needed. Lasts for ages.

Yesterday wasn't too bad foodwise Hmm went to a beefeater place locally at a watermill. Was nice as we sat out on the deck by a weir and had a late lunch. I had a grilled paprika chicken salad, the only syns seemed to be from bbq sauce. Had quite a bit of wine in the evening though Blush Off to my niece's wedding today. should be ok as I have to drive back so can't drink. She is having a register office ceremony then back to her house for a big party, with a guy coming in to do a bbq. I will try and stick to chicken & salad to limit the damage.

Have a good weekend ladies Grin sorry to go on

grinningbee · 03/09/2011 09:58

Thanks Slinky. It was a changing room mirror that started this whole thing off .

Charity shop hunting sounds like a fab idea. I know of loads around and about here. Might have to have a nosey... Grin

Oh, and I want to add a new poster. I watched the original Fright Night last night. Love that film. Chris Sarandon circa 1985. Mmmmmmm.

The reality is that he is the same age as my dad Shock

hello back from holiday - have you missed me Grin - and I only seem to have put on 3lb which isn't so bad given what I have been scoffing. I'm trying to get back on the diet wagon but we don't have much food in and I just want to eat biscuits at the moment.

I hope you are all well. Time for bed Zeberdee boing

kid · 03/09/2011 21:49

Welcome back hedge 3lb is fine and it'll soon be gone. I got away with a 2lb gain on my holiday.

I've been very good today. I was out at lunch time so didn't eat anything. I had 2 biscuits when I got home instead which is such a waste of syns.

I'm definitely going gym tomorrow, it will be my first time back since the London riots (whenever that was!) I plan to work really hard in the class to try and make up for my lack of exercise recently.

LittlePushka · 03/09/2011 22:33

Pushka shuffles into the room and flops on squishy sofa after 8 nights camping. Waves to the new members and grins at the old guard.

Rain. rain and very cold rain. Went to a festival last weekend and the mud was like slurry. great fun but it would have been SO fab had we not been permanently damp and dirty ( and not in a nice way you understand Wink).

Missed the DOD obviously - but consider my self to have gained and received slinky's kick up the derriere.

Back on the case as of tea tonight,...obviously want to go and trough seventeen slices of hobbit bread heavily buttered with lashings aof strawberry jam. is there a SW substitute....??!!

good to be home,....

Riasdragonflytattoo · 04/09/2011 00:10

OK, catching up. It may take a while. Apologies if I miss anyone.

firstly, "lovley". nothing wrong with that. more northern that "luvverley" Wink

slinky the duchess was OK. hadn't read any reviews or anything so I wasn't sure what I was meant to be watching. KK irritates me a bit TBH as she can be a bit "samey" in period dramas, but I saw it through to the end which is unusual for me. It'sone of those that has left me with a "feeling". Where (roughly) did your brother move to?It is God's Own County!

I had smash hits Morten,Phillip and Jason on my wall. And Tom Cruise. I saw Joseph etc a couple of years ago and it was "H" from Steps. (Think DS3 might have become a glimmer that night. I was ill with flu...) no idea who Jared Letto is? I saw Take That before they were famousBlush - long story. Sebastian Bach or Nuno Bettancourt please?

Hmm at mince. Sainbos mince one of the more expensive I guess?

Sad at BFN bee. Am currently in dark place regarding DS3 and starting school, and there not being a possibility of DC4.

very Sad about the demise of the B&J's, and the "oil cooking" incident

yay for new jeansSmile

holiday involved wine and walking. mirrors very unforgiving though, and have in my mind an image at best of Hattie Jaques (in the Ruth Jones drama, looking glamourous) and at worst of some kind of fat Amy Winehouse crossed with the worst image of a fat person you could conjour upSad.

sorry for long post. have missed my internet connection.

Bedtime! (day off tomorrow. much wine, and possibly Sunday roast. Kids have been HIDEOUS while we have been away. I need a break from everything, then start on healthy new regime and new ADS on Monday when they get back to school and we have some kind of routine again)

lizardqueenie · 04/09/2011 07:56

Good morning

Fab news on the jeans! Grin woohoo! What a lovely feeling. Hello everyone else.Smile

Have fallen off of the wagon (yup even though I'd just about hitched a ride on it) so the last couple of days have been (blowing raspberry emocion)

Had crappy falling out with my mother which was horrible, still not resolved now but realised today that eating crap isn't going to change anything for the better (lightbulb moment).

So..back to the drawing board.

kid · 04/09/2011 08:54

Good morning, it still feels like night time to me, I'm sure it's too early to get up!

My gym buddy can't make it to the gym today but I'm still going as I want to get back to it.

I might do a quick shop this afternoon so i can start cooking some of the recipes I've been writing out.

Will weigh myself in the morning for my post holiday starting weight.
Hope you all enjoy a lazy Sunday.

SlinkyB · 04/09/2011 09:23

Morning all, welcome back all that have been away/having a break.

ria cheers for the film review, might give it a go then. Brother is in Paras, got new job in Catterick? Must get on and make plans to see him.

Glad I'm not only one having a bit of a diet wobble at the moment, am sure we'll snap out of it soon and be sliding into those smaller jeans before we know it!

Had some awful news yesterday, and snacked quite a big on wrong stuff. Off to meet lovely sister and family today though, and go for long walk in countryside Grin

Have a great Sunday Peeps

grinningbee · 04/09/2011 10:50

Happy Sunday everyone, and welcome back.

Ria come here and have a great big hug. Sorry the kids were awful. Why is it they do this when you try to do something nice???

Hedge Glad you had a good time, and 3lbs seems very reasonable. Won't take you long to shift that.

Lizard Lightbulb moments can be very empowering (oooh, get me using big words so early). Sorry you had the argument.

Kid it is so dark and flaming gloomy I certainly feel I should be in bed. And I was up twice in the night. Very tired!

Little A big mountain of toast, butter and jam is very appealing, and sadly there is nothing quite like the real thing.

Slinky so sorry you've had some bad news. Are you ok?

We are off out in a bit for lunch out with Mil. Can you feel my excitement? There is bound to be some sort of argument between her and dh.

Food today:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Chicken and bacon salad
SW fryup

Seeing as we seem to be having diet wobbles - not sure if I dare suggest this for fear of being pelted with rotten veg - anyone fancy setting a mini target for Christmas?

OP posts:
whatkungfuthat · 04/09/2011 14:20

Hi bee, I'll accept your challenge of a mini target - 2.5 stone for Christmas, unlikely but doable if I work hard at it Smile

Riasdragonflytattoo · 04/09/2011 15:03

Suppose I might as well accept the 2.5 stone mini target , what (else) have I got to lose Wink

the gym is starting a "lose 2 stone for xmas" thingy at the end of Sept, so I might tag onto that if I go back to their classes, or my dance teacher is starting a new beginners ballroom/latin class that I might go to. I will see how it fits in with whatever happens work-wise and financially. Plan to Shred in a morning when the kids are at school (may encourage DH to stay in bed, just so I get some peace).

I have driven past Catterick slinky. It's very close to GORGEOUS countryside.Smile

have to go and sew on tapes and badgesSad

whatkungfuthat · 04/09/2011 16:22

Ria thats what I would ideally like to lose by then, I did it last time in that period but you may not have as much to lose as me. I thought DS2 was back at school tomorrow but its Tuesday, which means my great exercise plan will have to start a day late Hmm

lizardqueenie · 04/09/2011 16:25

A mini target is a good idea bee and I like the suggestion of 2.5 st. Had a wee weigh in This morning just to see what the damage was over the last few days & looks like it's 1lb so not too bad if I pull my socks up & get on with it risotto for tea tonight, yum!

kid · 04/09/2011 16:50

I'm happy to take part in the challenge of losing 2.5st by Christmas. It seems unlikely to me but it must be doable if you are all agreeing to it!

I had a terrible time at the gym today, I hated every single moment of it and was close to walking out. But I knew if i walked out, I'd never go back so I stayed.

I got up 1 1/2 hours before gym and had weetabix and a banana an hour before the class. I also had a shower so was wide awake when I got there.
But as soon as the class started, I felt faint. I kept going but it kept coming back and I had to sit out about 5 times and when I did join in, I literally couldn't do any of the jumping parts of it.
The instructor looked a bit worried and asked if I was ok to which I replied no! He gave me some easier moves to do as he could clearly see I wasn't coping well. It has been 4 weeks since I last went but it was just so hard, I've never, ever struggled like that before, it was actually a bit scary Sad
Its also star week so maybe that had something to do with it? I've had a cold and sore throat but did think I was better.

Oh well, will have a chat with instructor on Tuesday so he knows but I don't want him to tell me to go Drs or to not do that class.

LittlePushka · 04/09/2011 20:03

That is great motivation Kid - I know it may have been rubbish when you were there but you were there so that is ace,...really.

Hey KungFu, how you been doing?

I have been ironing on name tapes tday too rias! Wonder how many collective tapes/tags have been attached this weekend in the UK??!!!

I will do the 2.5 stone Christmas challenge - perhaps those of us up for the challenge should tell Cheese when we file the stats for the list so that we do not go under the radar....I think it is great if a few of us are up for it and keep it obvious. We couldall start the stats we give Cheese with something easy like,..er... XMAS2.5 or something EVEN wittier!!!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/09/2011 20:38

2.5 atone takes me to 9.5 st, which would be a very optimistic weight for me. Could try though Smile

kid · 04/09/2011 20:45

I'm making a right pigs ear of this menu planning tonight. I've got my little book with recipes in it, I've got paper with my meals on it and another piece of paper with my shopping list (with a few things I've got to pick up tomorrow for dinner) and I've got the laptop open ordering the shopping online to be delivered tomorrow night. Oh, I've also got the dog laying on me snoring away!

3 days worth of food for the lot of us cost £23, not bad at all.
Just trying to by anything else the pigs here might want to snack on through out the week and must remember packed lunches too.

I can do this, I know I can.
2 more gym classes booked for this week gulp!
