DH thinks the vomiting the boys had on Tuesday night was food poisoning. They ate at around 6pm, and the vomit came at about 11pm, but no indicating symptoms as they were asleep until they threw up.

Hope yours is just a nutella overload.

Puke must be in the air, as I threw up last night too. I sat on the floor to watch TV and put my hand on a perfectly rolled bogey . Feeling pretty pants this morning too. Funny how no-one will admit to being a nose picker thoughHmm don't feel like work or school (cracking headache, but daren't take paracetamol when already pukey) but I suppose I'd better go.

Must go and wake DS3 or he'll miss his trip...

Slinkenstein · 10/10/2011 10:32

Morning gang,

Welcome CSWS and welcome back QBEE.

kid - was it food poisoning?! Are you all ok?

bee - did you get your half an hour in the bath last night? Hope so!

pushka - I have an 8mo ds, and an almost 12yo step-son who stays every other weekend.

I'm going to work for a couple of hours tomorrow morning as a 'keeping in touch' day - scary! My sister is having ds for the day, so I'm meeting a friend for lunch then having a child-free mooch around the shops to make up for what will no doubt be a horrible morning.

What is it about Sunday evenings that make me want to stuff my face all night long?! Last night, I had: an apple, a kiwi, a yogurt and a small piece of bread and l/f spread....then a piece of left-over apple crumble and a cup of tea....then one Weetabix just before bed ! At least I managed to avoid the wine Grin.

Looks miserable outside so think we'll stay wrapped up inside today.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 10/10/2011 12:02

Morning all. Sorry for my absence over the weekend, we had a lovely time with old uni friends.
I a still struggling with lack of energy, might pop and see the GP this week - just get my bloods done. Anyway, as a result I have been lazy with the diet. Sigh. I need to get a grip.

Right food for today:
B; Weetabix (HEB)
L: tuna pasta salad and nectarine
D: quorn sausage casserole

Hope all stomach bugs have cleared. slinks hope you enjoyed seeing Jamie, very jealous. Bath Abbey is lovely.
Will catch up proper later

kid · 10/10/2011 12:43

I'm fine so didn't poison us all!
I really struggled to get up this morning, I must get some early nights this week.
New gym class tonight, should be interesting.

grinningzombee · 10/10/2011 13:09

Howdy do everyone!

Hope the sicky bugs are all better. Please don't pass them over here!

How was Jamie Slinky? Hope it was a good night.

Glad you had a good weekend Cheese, hope you're properly better soon.

I've spent the best part of 4 hours this morning running dh around. All good fun Hmm

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a very sad brown banana
Cheese triangles on toast, 2 clementines and a yogurt
Leftover quorn chilli and rice

The funeral for our friend is this week, but as it's a military type affair they have said no children (fair enough) but it means I can't go. Ah well. Probably for the best.

Slinkenstein · 10/10/2011 13:16

Glad you had a good weekend cheese! Jamie Cullum was fantastic; he always seems to make his gigs seem so intimate and friendly, gets everyone involved and singing/dancing along - a true performer!

So glad you're all ok kid - was worried there* (although a touch of food poisoning is always a help when trying to lose weight eh?!).

We had some bad news on the weekend. Our friend who was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few weeks ago had to undergo surgery, where they discovered things are a lot worse than thought. She may only have days to live Sad We all thought she'd have months or even years. Hoping to see her at the hospice in the next few days, will be so tough but want to say goodbye. Can't imagine what she's going through, life can be so unfair.

grinningzombee · 10/10/2011 14:00

Oh Slinky that is sad news Sad Hope you get to go and see her ((hugs))

grimRiaper · 10/10/2011 15:37

Sad slinky

kid · 10/10/2011 16:10

slinky sorry to hear your news. Cancer destroys so many peoples lives. When is a cure going to be found?

My not so subtle DD sent a text to my friend who's dad passed away. She wrote 'How is it without your dad?' Blush
I am going to apologise to friend and I've told DD some other ways she could have asked how friend was. I could have killed her when I found out what she wrote!

I had an incident with a member of staff at work. Nothing came of it as I, again, walked away rather than challenged the behaviour. My patience is wearing thin though and I can safely say that the next time she needs any help or advice, she needn't come near me as I'm passed being helpful as far as she is concerned.

grimRiaper · 10/10/2011 21:44

that is what I always do kid, because if I stand up to people I end up crying, apologising, or being so wiped out by the assertiveness I end up in bed for 24 hours. I am dreading college tomorrow night with bossy ex-policeman in my group, because I don't think we should do it just his way, but I don't think he's a man who takes being disagreed with.

How does your DD feel about her text? I know exactly where you are coming from with that one!

I am Blush to be excited!!! Have just found out (via facebook) that STEPS are reformingBlushGrin That's my manic housework music. (will be digging out the albums tomorrow!) Is Clare still overweight? Bless her, their image back in the day must have been hell to maintain. Who would be famous?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 10/10/2011 21:50

Sorry to hear that slinky, hope she is comfortable and that you get to say your goodbyes.

Had a quiet day here, DH took DD swimming so I had a nap. I feel better for it. Food wise I have stuck to plan all day for the first time in weeks!

Hope everyone has a restful night.

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/10/2011 22:31

How very sad slinky. :(

Those of you posting your food for the day, is that really all you eat?!
It's nothing compared to my list!
Ah well, weigh in tomorrow night, so we'll see how week 1 has gone. I've not lost anything the first week the other times that I've done SW, so will be interesting to see if I have this time.

kid · 10/10/2011 22:41

DD said she didn't think the text was rude. After I explained what she could have written instead, she realises her text wasn't worded very well.

DS had one of his biggest tantrums tonight and was intent on shouting at me so the whole world could hear him. The little sod stormed off down the road with no coat or shoes on instead of getting in the car. I decided not to chase after him, instead I sat in the car staring at him and he soon changed his mind and came back to the car.
When we got in, I sent him straight to his bedroom at 7pm and didn't allow him down all night. I finally called up to him at 9pm to tell him to go to bed but he was already asleep. He had better snap out of this bad behaviour as people won't want to look after him while I go gym. If he stops me from going, I really will make his life a misery!

grinningzombee · 11/10/2011 09:26

Morning everyone!

Kid oh boy, I can see why you were mortified by that text. Hope it's all settled now and that your ds is being nicer to you Sad

CSWS yep, what I post is what I eat. Sometimes I might have an extra yogurt or piece of fruit. At dinner I sometimes have an extra slice of bread for 3 syns. But that's it Smile. I could eat more free food if I wanted I suppose.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, nectarine and a yogurt
Spinach cannelloni

It was weigh in day for me today. Things are back to normal after last weeks big loss Grin

Hope you're all ok today.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/10/2011 10:17

Morning all.
Posting on phone so wont send individual replies as I can't remember what everyone said

DD poorly so long night - ESP when Dh on night shifts. Quiet day planned as Dd is miserable. plus she keeps trying to pull herself from sitting to standing and is getting v coss that she can't.

Food:
B: toast
L: pasta probs with tin of tuna
D: chilli and rice and salad
Snacks: fruit
Lots of coffee too Grin
Have a good day all

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 11/10/2011 11:32

morning, my brain is zapped after a 2 hr telecon to colleagues from Germany and France, I could really do with some sugar after that.

Slinky I'm a very sorry about your friend Sad When do you stat back at work is it this week?
good vibes for the weigh in CSWS, I lost 6lb my 1st week so I was thinking I only would be dieting for a few weeks, it has slowed a lot since thenGrin
Kid I have much sympathy for you with your DS. my oldest is also testing boundaries and being a right old sulk bottom at the moment, just hold you line it will come out OK in the end [I hope]
Cheese sorry DD is not well, we are well and truly into lurgy season I suppose. Did you get the Dr to check you out re: the tiredness?
((waves to everyone i have forgotten))

I thought i had done well yesterday but when I added up the syns I had hit 20 just with bits and bobs, I have left overs from DS2 birthday that i was finishing, So I am strictly filling in my syns online for a few days

Food
B. Fruit and activia low fat natural yog (1.5 syns for the yog)
S veggise sticks and 1 tbs houmous (2.5 syn)
L Salad with chicken and coleslaw (5.5 syns)
D roast lamb and veg (there will be some syns in the lamb as I haven't removed prior to cooking but I won't eat it in the final meal as it is ukkky)

S. fruit and gallons of black coffee Grin.

no HEA or B so maybe some ryvitas and cheese triangles if I get hungry

obrigada · 11/10/2011 14:34

Hello again Blush, got up this morning determined to start Day 1 of my diet, and thought I would give low-carb a go as even the phrase "unlimited" gives me carte blanche to eat what I want, however reading through the low carb thread I realise that it is maybe a little too extreme for me, with SW you at least have the option of getting back on track if you have a bad day, however on low carb one bad day can seriously derail your weight loss attempts.
So once again may I join you all >

obrigada · 11/10/2011 14:57

So far today I have had:
2 scrambled free range eggs with tbsp soya milk and 2 smoked rashers of bacon for brekkie
Plum for snack
Chicken soup, 2 slices of wholemeal bread, 2 slices of ham, grated low fat cheddar cheese and red onion.
In spirit of honesty, chicken soup was from a packet, you just warm it up!

Slinkenstein · 11/10/2011 18:52

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone, still waiting to hear when I can go and visit my friend, hopefully end of the week.

CSWS I eat a LOT of free food most days! So if I do write what I eat, I may not list all the fruit and yogurt I have. I also seem to be drinking more tea and Pepsi Max since starting the diet (orally fixated? Moi?).

Well, I went into work for a whole two hours this morning. Was meant to be sorting more KIT days but they said they don't want me to do any more, as they have a temp in and think it will be pointless?! Hmm So that's it for me until I go back full-time at beginning of Jan. Two hours work a year, that has a nice ring to it Wink.

Dp is cooking Shock - chicken stir-fry with egg noodles, yum.

DoD tomorrow - good luck all!

kid · 11/10/2011 20:45

Anyone have good tech knowledge? My laptop is dying Sad
It keeps getting a black screen at start up but I don't know how to get it to load up as normal. It happened last night and again tonight. I have managed to get it back on but don't really know how. I need my laptop!

grimRiaper · 11/10/2011 22:52

can start it up in safe mode kid? (I don't actually know what that means, but I have seen it on the screen before Wink)

very drained tonight. I did the wrong homework for college and completely omitted to do what we had been setBlush I think that is the first time in my life! Also feeling like a bit of a burden to the teacher I am with, but I think they are having a tough week and I am oversensitive ATMHmm Have been asked to go on a sponsored walk with the KS2 classes later in the week.

good luck for DoD everyone.

kid · 11/10/2011 23:15

I literally can't get the computer to do anything. It doesn't even load, the screen just stays black. Oh well, no doubt it won't work again tomorrow until I play about with lots of buttons and take the battery out several times before it decides to turn on.
I've tried restoring it to an earlier point but that hasn't made any difference.
I think my neighbor is an ICT expert, I might hang around in the garden until he comes out!

I'm not expecting a loss tomorrow. I figure if I don't expect a loss, I won't be disappointed if I don't get one! That's my logic anyway.

I'm on a school trip for most of the day tomorrow, I should get to bed so I'm not too tired I guess.
Good luck with the HW Ria. I'm sure you're not a burden to the teacher, but just think, the hard work they put in to training you now, will be repaid to them when you are super at your job!

Good luck with the sponsored walk, hope they don't make you walk for too many miles! I'd be more interested in my class doing a sponsored silence Grin

LittlePushka · 11/10/2011 23:18

Hi Obrigada, welcome back my lovely!

Kid I have no advice on techy I am sorry - the only useful technical ability is that I can do immaculate and beatiful french plaits of various types on myself and any girl with shoulder length or longer hair.

Again, this skill is grossly under-utilised as I have short hair and two boys...Hmm. Such is my life. (I can plait the power cable if that helps...?)

Hedge, do you speak three languages all at once? Grin Or are your counterparts in Europe English speaking?

I recall a video conference I had once with a MDT on one of my cases. this was back in the days when video conferences were VERY Star Trek! Anyway, I forgot i was visible at one point and when some pillock of an excuse for a social worker started pontificating about how child X's needs were being met adequately by the local care home (aggghhh!) I leaned forward and started banging my head on the desk in mock despair.... Suddenly a consultant peadeatrician shouted out to me and asked if I was fitting!!

Oh the shame! (Note to self: contain ones exasperation at all times in the professional arena).

Slinky my lovely, you are very very much in my thoughts,..(been there done that, and it is a long journey home that day). God bless.

B: 2 weetabix and 2 bananas
L: Threebean salad and roast chicken
T: Homemade lentil soup.

2 jaffa cakes (though could readily eat whole packet)

I am hungry today - for the first time really. I could inhale a couple of slices of toast.

LittlePushka · 11/10/2011 23:19

Oh Hi Ria! Didnt see you come in there!

LittlePushka · 11/10/2011 23:21
