If I managed to lose the 2 1/2 st by Christmas, I'd be 9st something, I'd be bloody amazed if I could actually do that!
I'm actually quite excited now and thats given me the incentive to try that little bit harder Smile thanks guys!

grinningbee · 04/09/2011 20:50

Um, glad no-one pelted me (even if you thought about it Wink).

I didn't mention 2.5 stone though. For myself, I'm going to aim for 2 stone. If you're all dead set on 2.5 stone though, I could try. We have 16 more weigh-ins which takes us up to December 21st. I just thought it would be a fun thing to do.

Kid sorry you had a bad time at the gym. If you've had a horrible virus that can knock the stuffing out of you.

LittlePushka · 04/09/2011 21:09

Kid, dont forget to get the dog food.

2.5 would make me a shade over 9 stone and I aint been that since I was about 12years old!!! But for my height I ought to be between 9 and 10 st. Anyway team, if we are a few pounds in hand - it means we have room to manoevre - which HAS to be a plus at Chrismas.

Mind you, bee, onlt 16 days of doom means a weekly loss of more than 2lb a week. Time to get the exercise DVD out or go running...

I have to say I am feeling a little more comfy in my clothes lately and it is such an amazing feeling!!! To those of you stars who have lost upwards of two stone or thereabouts it must make you feel like you can conquer the world...how wonderful to be a new shape!! Does it make you feel desirable again I wonder? I hope so - Wink!!

kid · 04/09/2011 21:49

pushka my dog gets fed better than everyone else I think. I get his food from petsathome and as I keep changing it, its getting dearer and dearer. Only the best for my little baby though Grin

I'm considering going Drs at some point, I just don't want them thinking I'm a hyperchondriac. I have a pain in my left leg, its a dull ache that moves up and down between my knee and thigh. It comes and goes but when its there, its very painful and takes my breath away. I am a big baby though so I always assume I am over reacting lol I'll just see how it goes.

Right, meals planned up until Thursday, think i'll do a few more and then put it somewhere safe. I have to plan cooking around gym classes as they are at a bit of an awkward time (6:30pm) so I'll have to make sure dinner is done for DH and DC before I go and I'll eat when I get home. Thats the plan anyway. Signing off for the night (maybe) as I've got work in the morning, washing to hang up, lunches to make and clothes to sort out. I wonder if my new size 14 jeans that I bought today fit me?

SlinkyB · 04/09/2011 22:05

I'm the about the same as cheese, so 2.5 stone is not really do-able for me. Maybe I'll try and do a stone for Christmas? Is it really only 16 weeks away?!

I have my photoshoot in four weeks, so going shopping for new outfits for me and the baby tomorrow. Maybe I'll get something a little on the snug side in the hope it keeps me on track, and motivates me to shift a few more pounds?! Then again, could just bribe the photographer (a friend) to Photoshop me slimmer? Wink

bee I'm ok thanks. Found out one of my friend's cancer is now terminal; she is 34 Sad . Met her for coffee and it was hard. Couldn't stop crying yesterday.

On a brighter note, enjoyed my 2hr walk today...just wish someone would teach ds to sleep in his pram!

Hedgepig · 04/09/2011 22:08

evening, Mini Target for Christmas sounds a great idea although mine won't be mini it is my final target of 10st 7lb (gulp) for which I have a stone and a half(ish) to loose I will be there by Christmas so keep reminding me. Right I have said it out aloud (well posted it on MN) so I have to stick to it.

We have been shopping for outfits for my brothers wedding at the end of Sept and I got a dress in a size 16 which is totally amazing as I am rather ahemm top heavy Blush, and I was needing at least a 20 to go around the norkage before I started on SW.

Kid it sounds a bit like you are running out of fuel during your exercise try eating some carbs before hand (even some syns), i had a very similar problem on the big cycle I did in June I just had nothing in my legs at all, but a slug of chocolate really helped (not on SW plan I know but it's all about balance imho)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/09/2011 22:13

I was thinking I'm going to aim for another 1.5 stone. Think that seems a reasonable target for me bearing in mind how shit I am

Turned up to mums in size 16 jeans. Got told they looked ridiculous so got sent to the shops with trendy sister. Bought a pair of size 14 h&m skinnies, a lovely peach cardi and size 12 cut off jeans from monsoon. Would link but on phone.

Staying here for rest of wk. Said goodbye to DH who has returned home. He has big life changing exam part 1 on thurs so hopefully a bit of peace before his normal shift at work means he can revise.

Sorry no personal replies, am crap when on phone!

LittlePushka · 04/09/2011 23:13

Kid - Dr Pushka here....the pain in your leg is being casused by your well fed dog lolloping about your person and cutting off the circulation. REmove the pooch immediately and rub your thigh vigourously (do not do this in public,...it could be seen as offensive to people of a nervous disposition). Put pooch on SW meal plans and come back and see me in two weeks.Grin

Surgery closes.
Reopens to offer slinkyb big tissues for big tears Sad.
Closes again.

LittlePushka · 04/09/2011 23:18

Reopens briefly to prescribe nerve pills and uppers for Mr Cheese in view of his forthcoming needlework GCSE Wink

(Seriously, those cross stitch patterns are a bugger to read when you are tired...!)

Wish I had a trendy sister......!!!

kid · 04/09/2011 23:46

Arghh, I wrote a long message and it didn't post!
Well you'll just have to guess what I wrote cos i'm not writing it again Grin

Riasdragonflytattoo · 05/09/2011 01:47

lol Dr Pushka.

kid, hope you are OK. could you have poached egg on toast or something before the gym?

Sad slinky. An old schol-friend of mine died suddenly nearly a year ago, she was 33 (a week older than me), she hadn't even been married a month. It takes the wind out of youSad

I should be able to lose 2.5 stone as it is merely the tip of the iceberg, and would get me down to less than I've been for 3+ years, but not quite what I was after DS3 was bornBlush. Must find some will-power and motivation from somewhere... I have misplaced the ShredHmm

I don't want to go back to school tomorrow. At best I'll get year 6, at worst I'll have the Kray twins. I don't want to play!!!!

Am in disgrace with DH for falling asleep putting the kids to bed, and not getting up despite being woken 6+ times. Oh well.

Good luck Mr cheeseSmile

my name-tape exercise was thwarted. Have lost the lovely new name-tapes I bought when DS2 started school 3 years ago, and my new laundry pen turned out to be a flipping embroidery pen for drawing the pattern on the fabric, then it mysteriously disappears...

bugger. dreading tomorrow, but suspect staying awake all night is not a good plan. having a non-SW tea tomorrow to celebrate the end of day one... will reschedule DoD for Tuesday.

grinningbee · 05/09/2011 08:29

Slinky that is just rotten Sad All you can do is be there. It's very hard.

Right then. My Christmas target is a bit random, but I am aiming for another 24 pounds off which should be do-able. That will take me down to 11st 4.5, and mean I'll have lost 4.5 stone. Any more would be a bonus.

This weeks dod isn't looking good. Don't know why but nothing has shifted, and I haven't eaten anything naughty. Oh well, maybe a miracle will occur overnight Hmm. I blame AF.

So, as some people are approaching target - will you guys be sticking around on here to encourage the rest of us and for maintaining? I think it'd be good to keep this going for afterwards.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 05/09/2011 08:32

Oh, and food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and yogurt
SW Pork meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce with broccoli

Btw - yesterday turned out to be waaaay worse than anticipated. Dh bit my head off during dinner with Mil, and the dc turned into demons. Such fun. I am really looking forward to our "holiday" in 2 weeks time...

OP posts:
whatkungfuthat · 05/09/2011 09:02

Morning everyone

Slinky so sorry to hear about your friend Sad
cheese clothes sound lovely, good like to DH. I will PM you about facebook as I think I'm being a bit thick Blush
waves to pushka , I was a bit cats bum face as I did myself out the first weeks's good loss due to the indian meal but I'm pleased this week because I haven't gained over the weekend despite eating out on friday and a wedding on saturday, fingers crossed for DOD.

Wedding was lovely, but my niece wanted me in loads of the pics so I'm dreading what I look like as I really didn't feel good in what I was wearing, plus she had a reportage photographer who seemed to like our table more than the others!

Food:
Toast & banana
fruit salad & yoghurt
steak and SW chips with lots of veg

Riasdragonflytattoo · 05/09/2011 09:32

your table must have been having the most fun kungfuGrin

pah to MILs. we did our twice annual visit on Saturday. Was going to buy flowers, but didn't, then realised when we arrived I should have because it was birthday timeBlush. Same old - someone died, DHs siblings are more popular and more successful than him, silblings partners are wonderful, nieces and nephews probably have sunburn on their bottoms... don't know why we goHmm That's it done til christmas... (unless they have gone abroad and not mentioned it like last time we visited)

my Shredding plans are dashed. Can't find the DVD, and have done something to the DVD player that will probably put DH in a snitch. Oh well.

Boys all gone to school. DS1 hates the new uniform his school have seen fit to introduce. He is cross because I told him his hair makes him look like Alan Carr. DS3 was awake when I went up to bed this morning last night, and spent about an hour looking sad before he settled again. I was awake until after 4.

kid · 05/09/2011 17:36

I survived getting up at the crack of dawn (6:30am) and the whole day at work. I was yawning until 11ish but after that I was fine Grin

I am very pleased with myself.
Breakfast was provided at work, croissants, pastries, French stick and cheese. I didn't even sniff any of it let alone eat it.
Then at lunch time, they provided pizza which I also declined. I was very happy with my leek and pea pasta in philadelphia cheese.

Just put the gammon in coke on which will be ready in an hour. I think I'll have some strawberries and an apple to make sure I don't give in to anything sweet and full of syns.

ria, are you a TA?
I am and I am working with the best teacher and the best class this year, I couldn't be happier!

kid · 05/09/2011 17:37

slinky I'm really sorry to hear about your friend, life can be so cruel sometimes Sad

ameRIAcansmooth · 05/09/2011 21:01

much respect kid (for the food resistance and the TA bit)

I am not qualified enough to be a TA, I am a lowly very bad-tempered MSA! I have been doing it on and off since DS1 started school as it fits in nicely (DH cannot be relied upon for childcare for me to get a "proper" job). I have been shunted from yr5 to yr2 this year. Have to say I am better with shouty tween attitude than little ones, but I'll settle in I'm sureHmm. I have a fab class teacher too though, and am considering going in as a volunteer helper and working my OU studies round it (but I have to pick and choose as some of our TAs are on a power-trip and I couldn't work with them) - I would love to get into "behavioural" stuff. We don't get fed nice food thoughEnvy

am menu/shopping list planning again

still haven't located Shred.

JobCarHouseNoBaby · 05/09/2011 21:31

Hey all

I am in on the 2.5st by Christmas... that will get me half way to wedding weight!

DP and I have sat and done the budget and guest list and are rather a little Shock but we are lucky enough to have ice cream in the freezer plenty of time to save up.

Food today

Porridge (HEB) with 1tsp honey (1 syn) and raspberries
Jacket potato, baked beans, salad
Snack at work - mullerlight and blueberries
Salmon, rice and peas
Mini-magnum (8 syns)

ameRIAcansmooth · 05/09/2011 21:42

8 syns for a mini-magnum??? Shock

good luck with your wedding plans. DH and I got married on the very cheap (we eloped and had an engagement party when we got back) happy days. we are still skint now 15 years on.

got my TMA results tonight, and from what the OU website said, I was thinking there was very little point carrying on... feedback from tutor said I have just scraped into the result bracket so I can still get an overall pass. Not sure how I feel now. Am I letting myself in for much stress for nothing?

LittlePushka · 05/09/2011 22:04

Evening All!

Ria - check Cheese's pockets when she comes in I bet she has pinched that embroidery pen for Mr Cheeses exam Wink. What is an MSA by the way?

Mys DS1 starts school tomorrow - Hal - lelujah! Halleluja! Halleluja! Hal-lelujah! Hall-le--luja! (You have to add the tune yourselves). He needs to be a little fish in a big pond for a wee while I feel[happy]

Kid - I am so proud of you(sniff,...sniff) well done seriously for not falling face first into the free pizza and croissants. I must admit, when I was on holiday I had plenty of opportunity to really give it some welly but I had sort of gotten out of the habit and just thought,..well its nice,...but it'll all have to come off again so why bother? (I did have a candy floss though - not had one for must be 30 years - its like eating dissolvable memories!).

kungfu - you responsible for whipping us all up into a twopointfive frenzy!! This is your bootcamp!!

Thanks for the food lists - very helpful to me as I really hate anything to do with food(except pushing it into my cakehole, obviously) and it reminds me of ideas for tomorrow.

Cheese triangles on toast - lots of you have this - are the triangles sins or do you use them as a healthy extra?

Food:

28 g Shreddies (so few you can count each flippin one sitting in the bowl)
Grapes & Clementines
Chicken breast & M&S threebean salad (3 syns,..but why?)
SW curry and brown rice

Three party rings (who hoo! It was as if I was at one!(6 syns)
Four revels (but only to accept DS's kindness in sharing his bag - about 2 syns probably...yeah , yeah, here pushka goes making it up again as she gos along....)

LittlePushka · 05/09/2011 22:05

I deep cleaned my teeth and came to bed away from the kitchen after that in case the party rings turned into an all night party.

ameRIAcansmooth · 05/09/2011 22:28

LOL pushka. My mum uses the phrase "cakehole". Is nice to hear it elsewhere. My boys had mini bags of party rings for their packed lunch today , I have not succumbed (sp?), probably because it would hardly be worth putting a mini one in my mouth!

MSA is a modern posh term for scary playground-supervising/table-wiping/yogurt-opening dinner ladyBlush (rather than the superior qualified one who puts the food on the plates). My "professional" self appreciates your concept of "small fish in big pond", it is something that is evident as needed from around May onwards in yr 6. It is a job which fits in nicely with DH and his obsession job (when he has oneHmm) and the boys, without shelling out masses on childcare . Not convinced it is a vocation, and am hoping for a proper job one day... (or running away and living on a canal boat!) Must remember my whistle tomorrow Wink

kid · 05/09/2011 23:04

I love being a TA, most of the time. I've been doing it for over 11 years so obviously I do like it! Last year was the worst ever for me, I was so close to walking out but I stuck with it and survived the class from hell
I've trained up over the years and now have nvq3 plus hlta along with literacy, numeracy and first aid.
My next step would be foundation stage degree for an easy route in to become a teacher but I'm not interested in that.

Back to slimming world.
My meals today were great, well better and more creative than usual.

B: weetabix
L: leek, peas, philadelphia (with garlic & herbs) with fusili pasta
D: gammon cooked in diet coke, mash & peas

Snacks: strawberries, curly wurly, mullerlight.

Tomorrow, I'm doing
B: weetabix, banana
L: Greek salad (boiled eggs, tomatoes, cumcumber, feta cheese)
D: lamb stew

Snacks: fruit, snack-a-jacks, mullerlight

I've stuck my meal plans on the fridge so I don't lose them and also to stop me snacking.

ameRIAcansmooth · 05/09/2011 23:26

there is part of me would love to do all that training and be a TA, and I would probably do the foundation/early years stuff too, but most of our TAs are very cliquey and less approachable than the teachers! (Sad for all the parents who would love to be helpers but are pushed out). it puts you off a bit. (though I am hoping to find the balls from somewhere to offer to help with the reception nativity, just so I can see it, along with the GPs and DH, without the ticket hassle)
