Ah bless thank you, well done to everyone & some great overall losses too! & thanks for making me so welcome. DH is currently cooking sausages for tea they are 3syns each but lush!

Today went back 2 basics with food
B: porridge with blueberries & raspberries
L: chicken salad
D: sausage something Wink

Snacks fruit & tea.

Meeting up with some fellow mums tomorrow it's usually a coffee& cake type meet but am just going to try to avoid the cake.

Need to check out the recipe thread this eve & do an online shop, the cupboards are practically bare!

lizardqueenie · 31/08/2011 18:50

bee what a time of it you've had! Poor lass. I think that makes it all the more deserving that you are looking after yourself now & have done so so well. I mean look at your inch loss! Fabulous! Pr should say Flab-u-lost!! Grin

Nb didn't mean to put Wink after sausage something, meant to put Hmm as DH is cooking! Sounded all a bit rude then and I'd much rather sleep these days anyway!

whatkungfuthat · 31/08/2011 19:55

bee I've just seen that recipe for scanbran cake! Why, in the name of all that is holy would anyone make or eat that Grin I've got a soup recipe that's good for autumn, I'll dig it out and post.

Hi all sorry I think I've missed the group weigh-in. I 'joined' last Tuesday and have lost 2lbs since then - lost 2 the previous week so 4 in total - result!
I'm aiming for about another 10lbs so fingers crossed.

Does anyone else feel hungover in the mornings? I suppose it's down to low blood sugar. Think I'll start having a teeny baked spud or something carbie last thing. I felt great today as I deliberately had a massive breakfast: leftover potato wedges, 2 eggs, rasher of bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes. I didn't have a chance for lunch until 2.00pm but was fine - would usually be climbing the walls by 12.30.
Had couscous and chickpeas for lunch, sweet potato with tuna for dinner. Think today counts as an EE day.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/09/2011 09:25

Fab result wwwy. no I'm ok in the mornings but we eat between 8-9 as DH gets home late from work. My mum, who also does Sw, swears by eggs for breakfast.

Food today:
B: weetabix and a peach
L: JP, baked beans and salad
D: quorn mince chilli

grinningbee · 01/09/2011 13:46

Bum. Typed a message and the internet died Angry

Lizard I do hope you enjoyed your "sausage thing" Wink That did make me laugh.

WWYD well done, fab losses Smile

I missed breakfast today, thanks to driving dh about for 3.5 hours Hmm. I got the dc fed and watered thankfully.

Food for the day:

Cheese triangles on toast, clementines, yogurt
Quorn chilli (snap Cheese) and rice

I shall be making the chilli in a bit so it's ready for later.

Oh, and today is day 41. Still nothing. Very odd.

OP posts:
whatkungfuthat · 01/09/2011 13:53

Hi all, just adding my food for the day:

Hobbit toast
ML's & fruit
Lasagne made with 0% fat fromage frais

SlinkyB · 01/09/2011 16:45

Ouch! That hurt cheese but I guess I deserved it, so thanks for the kick up the bum!

Well done to all the losers this week!

Busy day but still squeezed in time to make the spinach canneloni (sp?!) from the recipe thread, for later. Although I couldn't be arsed with filling tubes, so I made a lasagne with it instead, using dry wholewheat sheets. Tastes good! Even though I didn't have garlic (well, I did, but when I broke it open it was bright blue and furry - yuk! Lord knows how long it had been lurking in my fridge door).

Actually had some sun here today Shock

grinningbee · 01/09/2011 17:17

Filling the tubes is the worst bit. A lasagne version sounds good (makes note to pinch idea). I'm going to try and remember to get an icing bag and nozzle to try doing it next time. Gotta be better than using a teaspoon!

Chilli made, now have to drag myself up to get the dc ready to go out again to meet dh at the pub. Ds is asleep, so this will be fun.

Mmmmmm diet coke...

I just can't be bothered! Been daydreaming looking at Rightmove. Silly me.

grinningbee · 01/09/2011 17:18

Oh, and blue garlic???? Eeeek.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 01/09/2011 19:50

Original day shepherd's pie here tonight. DH's face will be a picture when he sees our swede-topped one next to the DCs' proper potato jobbie Smile.

Bee, I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but if you're still waiting for AF do you think it might be the beginning of the peri-menopause? I'm 48 and have had irregular periods for about 2 years - have had 2 this year I think. I'm older than you, though, so maybe it's not that, but I think it can happen earlier for some people. Just a thought - hope you don't mind!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/09/2011 22:30

Sorry slinky, was only joshing Grin

The Quorn chilli was pretty good - thanks for the recipe. Had a busy day, only just sat down. No shred yet, must resolve to do it tomorrow morning. I just don't seem to have a spare 20mins.

SlinkyB · 01/09/2011 23:35

It's 27 mins!! Don't let that cheesy Yank fool ya Wink Plus there's the faff of getting changed, getting your weights out and clearing a space, followed by a shower and washing your hair. All in all, you're looking at a good 45 mins...might explain why I've found a million excuses not to do it lately Blush . Oh, and my knees are farking killing me.

Anyone else got any good exercise tips for someone who hates exercise?!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 02/09/2011 07:21

She is cheesy, unbearable! I do a lot of walking slinky if that helps.

Right food for today:
B: weetabix and fruit
L: leftovers chilli
D: steak, roast veg

SlinkyB · 02/09/2011 07:45

I would like do lots of walking, but my 7mo ds refuses to sleep in his pram, and is still taking four bottles and three naps a day, so feel a little tied to the house most days! Gonna try cutting out one bottle and see how that goes, give me a bit more freedom and time to do stuff.

Food for the day:

B: Weetabix
L: left-over spinach and mushroom lasagne
D: Smoked haddock wrapped in bacon(fat removed) with rice and veg - cooked by dp!

grinningbee · 02/09/2011 08:51

Morning all!

Wish I knew how to motivate for exercise. I try to walk as much as I can, but it always involves driving somewhere first! Tiny village, very narrow pavements and lots of big lorries zipping about. Not good.

Off out into Nottingham later, so will be pushing the gruesome twosome Wink and walking lots.

Food for today will be:

Weetabix and a banana
Toast and fruit
Leftover chilli with rice

The chilli last night was rather hot, but nice. I tasted it while cooking and thought it was a bit mild, so bunged in an extra teaspoon of hot chilli powder, 1 of paprika and another of cumin. That pepped it up Grin Paying for it today though - dh is producing the most vile smells....

I was up until 1am writing out recipes. I've bought a little book and I've made sections and have listed breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. It will make meal planner easier as I can flick through it rather than leafing through all the magazines. I think I have about 15 magazines.

Dc are driving me insane. They have been up since 7:13 and have argued constantly. They have only just stopped and are watching wrestling together. I'm meant to be collecting 2 of their friends and taking them park and farm for the day but I'm so not in the mood now. but I'd feel bad for the friends if I cancel as it's not their fault my kids have been so naughty.

I'll share any recipes that turn out nice, no point in posting them now incase they are gross Grin

grinningbee · 02/09/2011 09:02

Maybe they will wear themselves out there kid?

Book is a good idea. I've been meaning to get a scrapbook to cut out the magazince recipes, as I also have a big pile of them under the coffee table. Now ds is on the move they are a regular target!

OP posts:
whatkungfuthat · 02/09/2011 09:14

Morning everyone. kid I know what you mean about arguments, my DS's can't speak without arguing at the moment.

bee I used to go to Nottingham for work, nice shops I recall

Slinky have you got Wii Fit? There is a free step program on it (you have to open it by doing the other step ones) which I use, 30 mins is 2 miles if you do about 4000 steps. Last time I was doing 5 lots a day at my best, I'm struggling with one atm Blush

Off to Tring museum today, to see the fleas wearing clothes Grin we'll be having lunch out so not sure what it will be. Just hobbit toast and a banana to report so far.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 02/09/2011 09:25

Another exercise dodger here. In fact, I have long-term chronic back pain, and despite knowing that exercise helps with this, I still seem unable to sustain more than a couple of weeks of exercising regularly.
I took my latest DVD (Brazilian Butt Lift Blush) on holiday this summer, and did it for 7 out of the 10 days - but there's really not much else to do on holiday, so it's not too difficult to fit it in.
Will resolve to do better when school starts again.

JobCarHouseNoBaby · 02/09/2011 09:59

Ok so my weigh in was last night and I'm pleased to share that this week I have lost 5lbs!!!

I totally thought I'd put on 1lb (esp. because my WW digital scales told me so Hmm) but they weighed twice to make sure and it's true - a whole 5lb off!

Wonder how I'm going to manage this weekend though, am going back home to parents/grandparents for 2 days filled with food and meals to celebrate my engagement. Guess I'll just have to be careful for breakfast and avoid bread.

I tried lots of recipes from the SW website this week, including

spinach cannelloni
chilli con carne
chicken tikka korma (was vile)

Plus apparantly the Birds Eye Simply Salmon fillets in lemon butter are also free. So that's useful as you cook them straight from the freezer and just serve with rice and heaps of veg. Good for nights when you haven't got something out for tea.

whatkungfuthat · 02/09/2011 10:34

Blimey, well done JCHNB Grin

grinningbee · 02/09/2011 17:10

Well done Job and congrats also Grin

I am one happy bunny today. Just back from Nottingham, and I tried some clothes on. If I can find the two dresses I'll do a link if you want to see. But the main source of an entire afternoon of grinniness was getting into a pair of size 16 jeans! GrinGrin I asked the fitting room lady if they fitted ok, and when she said yes I got a bit carried away and did a thumbs up Blush I actually felt like dancing around the shop to be honest. Daft, but I cannot remember the last time I fitted in a size 16 anything. Tops are def still an 18 or more though as the tummy is not going.

Oh, and I tried them on twice, and got to buy them the second time Shock, hurrah!

Now be honest - what do you think of these? I'm always dressing in jeans and a t-shirt or jumper so need something different.

Poppy dress

Black and white dress

Cheeseandbiscuits · 02/09/2011 19:11

Well done job fab result. I have been starving all day despite eating a lot of food. GOd knows why.

Yay for bee. The poppy dress is nice but do you have big boobs? If you do, the high neck line will make them look even bigger.
The black and white dress is lovely, I would wear it with knee high boots and leggings/tights

Am here for all fashion advice, both my sisters are very into styling etc so get lots of tips!

kid · 02/09/2011 21:27

bee
I love the black and white dress, its beautiful (but a bit on the short side for me to wear by itself)

I'm not too keen on the poppy dress, but I saw a Lilac & Purple Pocket Detail Printed Tunic on the page and think thats lovely. Might have a nosey around on that site myself actually Smile
