Glad to hear you have finally got an offer on your house slinky but am pleased you aren't just taking any offer. Its the norm for people to offer less than the asking price but it doesn't mean you have to accept it.

My parents signed the contract for their new house so they could be moving in the next 6 weeks. It happened very fast for them, I think its because of being close to the Olympic site.

Well done on your loss sofa and for getting your 1stone award too. Hope everything settles down for you soon.

grinningbee · 04/10/2011 12:03

Good morning everyone!

Slinky yay for the offer on the house! It's a start, even if it's cheeky.

Sofa well done on the loss this week, that's great Smile

Ria sorry the women at work are being horrid. Boo.

Kid yay to the bonus! Hope you get to treat yourself to something.

Not long back from dropping dh off at work at the other side of Nottingham, so a good 2.5 or so hours in the car not having had breakfast or a drink. Soon remedied that but I'm still very hungry.

I shall be picking playdoh out of the rug in a bit. Always good for a laugh Hmm dd does seem to get it everywhere.

Weighed in this morning and logged in into the SW website - they asked me to double check it as they thought it was an error! The cheek.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles on toast, clementines and a yogurt
Something with beef mince. Not sure yet.

As I have to go and fetch dh again I'm planning on bunging something in a pot to reheat. Maybe a bolognese type thing if I have the veggies.

Where is everyone?

OP posts:
SlinkyB · 04/10/2011 12:43

I'm here! Crikey, your dh works a long way from home bee. The SW online thing made me giggle!

Not much to report here. Food for the day:

Bran flakes and banana
Chicken salad, yogurt and an apple
Baked cod, new pots and veg
Syns: already had a cup of Options, might have some snack-a-jacks later

Am sure ds is getting sick of yogurt and mashed banana for puddings each day...anyone got any other suggestions? I sometimes treat him to one of those Heinz biscotti fingers, but they're probably not the best. So far he's taking after me with his food, ie he'll eat anything! Grin.

Hope you're all having a good day and looking forward to DoD

grinningbee · 04/10/2011 14:08

Slinky it's normally not so far, but I had to take him to collect a customers car to work on.

ds and dd love those biscuits as well Blush As for other puddings... um, sainsbury's do their own fromage frais which has no added sugar. Or little jelly pots? Or little custard pots?

Bolognese all made and bubbling away, so that's good. And it's cleared the fridge out ready for the shop tomorrow. Just got to get my planning hat on later to work out what we're having for the next week.

OP posts:
SlinkyB · 04/10/2011 16:01

Haven't tried him with jelly yet, so that might be an option - thanks! Bought some of those little Heinz dessert tins yesterday too, but always feel guilty about giving him shop-bought/processed/sugary food!

I'm making two (non-SW) lasagnes to take round to the in-law's tomorrow night. Wednesday night is always family meal night, and felt guilty that MIL is at work all day then comes home and cooks for nine of us! So offered to do it this week. Bought a couple of big bags of salad too, so I'll just (try) and have a small portion of lasagne.

very quiet around here lately...everyone hiding as it's DoD-eve?! Wink

kid · 04/10/2011 17:17

I'm at dd's swimming lesson at the moment. She goes in the big pool for 1/2 hour before her lesson starts but tonight, the lifeguard decided that if she doesn't swim 25m above water, I had to get in with her or she had to get out!
Dd started crying (wimp lol) so the lifeguard offered to reduce it to 10m but dd wasn't having any of it! She can swim 10 if not more but she was embarrassed. Nevermind, she is in her lesson now.

We had important visitors at work today and was told to dress smartly. Just as well my new trousers fit me. New as in bought them over a year ago but have only just shrunk into them!
I even had another member of staff asking for advice on getting rid of her stomach! Another member of staff said I've lost loads of weight. Technically it's not true but toning wise it looks like I have Grin

kristinaRIAnoff · 04/10/2011 22:57

yay for you kidSmile. I have just been to Sainsbo's and bought some trousers as my jeans have been crippling me all dayBlush Think it may be creeping up to TOTM as I feel sore and bloated, and my norkage seems to have increased hugely (not a good thing as it's pretty impressive anywayBlush)

I have been lurking today whilst finishing the very last bit of my OU course, then college tonight. Our first assessment is to do a display, working in groups. I think my group could get to falling out. I am going to spend the week trying to be assertive ready for next week! I am also in school again in the morning, so I am spending a fair bit of time trying to convince myself that I don't need to feel guilty that DH has been "housewife in charge" (for want of a a better phrase) all week so farHmm (it's about bloody timeWink) He even cooked tonightShock (and bathed the kids, which causes him a lot of pain apparently). I won't mention that they weren't asleep in bed when I got in from college, but as I went straight out to my mums, he had done the bedtime thing when I got back.

kid · 04/10/2011 23:06

I'm not looking forward to DoD tomorrow, I haven't been completely on plan all week so I don't know what to expect.

Just wondering about star week. Do most people gain the week before star week or during star week?

omg, my throat is killing me. Its so painful to swallow and even talking makes it hurt. My body was still aching from Sundays session at the gym but I went tonight anyway and now I am aching even more. Even my ankles are aching!

I've just got to iron a shirt for DH and make him some lunch (he is spoilt Grin), plus hang up the washing and then I can go to bed. I was falling asleep earlier so I think I should sign off now and do the ironing/lunches so I can go up to bed.
Then, I can go on the MN app on my phone lol

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/10/2011 23:09

Right I am back. Its Day of doom tomorrw and I fully expect to be at the bottom of the list.

Don;t forget to PM me your deets.

Had a fab hol by the way and ate like a horse

kristinaRIAnoff · 04/10/2011 23:11

ooohhhh... I forgot the good news!

DH has got a trial for a new part-time job, temporary for 3 months if it works out, so we might be a little better off (not much, but hopefully a little), plus he can give it a go and see if he can cope pain-wise, and it will give him a bit of time away from the house kids and me (which he is SO not used to). He starts Thursday evening - if you aren't doing anything, please cross everything that it works outWinkThanks

currently not sure how I will sneak SW into his meals when he is working. More planning needed.

has anyone heard from pushka? I am missing her wit.

Not sure if I will be doing DoD in the morning. My old scales are a bit crap (hence buying the now-broken new scales). I will try and find a chemist will one of those nasty weighing machines if I get chance, but I won't get out til after lunch tomorrow.

sorryBlush blathering!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/10/2011 23:12

slinky I am the same about baby food. Try not to do pudding every mealtime but we have the plum yoghurts / natural yog with fruit puree / chunks of fruit/ toasted oats with fruit puree (a la crumble) and thats it. Boring! Poor wee Isobel.

kristinaRIAnoff · 04/10/2011 23:13

glad you had a good time cheese.

Sadkid. hope your throat stops hurting.

kid · 04/10/2011 23:18

My throat is always hurting lately, I'm certain its a lack of sleep thing as I currently get 6 hours a night if I'm lucky (I know that's probably more than some of you get!)

I just did a post on DoDers, go have a look as I can't post it here. Read and you will see lol
(If anyone isn't a member, PM me and I'll explain)

kristinaRIAnoff · 04/10/2011 23:19

IIRC I used to cook pears in the microwave and mash them. I am afraid to admit I used to get the jars/heinz tins - one of DH's guilty pleasures is heinz chocolate pudding dessert, as are rusks!Blush - a bad food shared is a bad food halved?

I have forgotten SO much. Good job I don't have a baby to feed

kristinaRIAnoff · 04/10/2011 23:26

replied kid. oops Blush sounds intruiging.

LittlePushka · 04/10/2011 23:36

Hi everyone,...been walkabout,....need to rest here awhile.

I have beeen lurking so Iam sort of up to speed. Hey Cheeese,....has your DH passed his exam and been admittted to the Guild of Needlepointing Surgeons yet? Grin Ino results yet when are they due?

kristinaRIAnoff · 04/10/2011 23:39

hey pushka, welcome backSmile. are you halo-polishing saintly? or have you -followed me-- strayed off the path?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/10/2011 07:40

Morning all. I have had a very bad DOD with a big phat gain. Sad but what can you expect with a holiday filled with wine, icecream, indian takeaway, cheese and biscuits..Ha! Back on plan today though.

HI pushka good to see you! No results yet as he has the second part of the exam on 31st Oct. Then results out beginning of Dec. But, cos of my crappy job it is looking more likely that we will be stuck in London for a wee while longer.

Back up to the gym for the first time post pneumonia today. COuldn't get in to zumba so will have a swim instead and def not sit in the spa

Food:
B: melon, ff yog and bran flakes
L: JP, beans and salad
D: Turkey mince spag bol with salad

Have a good day everyone and I am wated with bated breath for your results.
< runs to bottom of the list>

grinningbee · 05/10/2011 08:30

Morning all!

Welcome back Pushka

Cheese glad you enjoyed the break - you needed it. The seat at the bottom of the list is still nice and toasty, and I left a packet of hobnobs there too Wink

Ria yay for the part time job for dh - hope it all goes well.

I am a happy bunny today. Mind you, after last weeks mahoosive gain I had to get straight back on it.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles on toast, clementines and a yogurt
Sweet chilli chicken and roasted veggies

I could just sit and eat yards of chocolate (good old AF in full swing). Plus I think I need to see my gp. When I was pg I got a big fibroid. With dd it went back down, but this time I wasn't checked after ds. During pregnancy it grew to the size of a full term baby's head Shock. When I lay on my back I can feel a lump in that region, and have had rotten backache for weeks. When I have a full bladder the lump is most spectacular. I'm also a tiny bit scared. Hey ho. I'll try and make one for next week when dh can have the dc for a few mins - don't want to have them in there with me playing up.

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 05/10/2011 09:35

morning all, waves to Puska and everything crossed for your DH Ria. Bee do make the appointment and then you will know what the score is, hopefully it has shrunk back.

I'm pleased with DoD I am back in control after a month of PI**ing about Grin, I have gone back to writing all my syns down which is really focusing me, 1syn for a soft mint Shock I nearly had a heart attack

DS2s B'Day today he is 3 I don't know where the time has gone. So I may have a sliver of cake later Grin

Food today
B Shredded wheat and strawbs
L Pasta salad with roasted veg
D CAKE! & Party Tea (Or maybe the left over chicken thing I made last night )

see you later waves madly

SlinkyB · 05/10/2011 09:50

Gave ds some mashed pear and banana last night after dinner, and have had three dirty nappies already ! Think I'll lay off the pear for a bit Wink. If he has a substantial dinner then he doesn't always get pudding. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hey pushka, I've missed your wit too! Good to see you back; are you weighing in with us today?

ria that's fab news on the dh's job - will have everything crossed for you tomorrow night (which won't be an easy task, seeing as I have zumba !).

bee definitely go get that fibroid thing sorted asap, doesn't sound terribly comfortable.

I've got my sister coming round at 11am for a few hours. We don't see much of each other as don't always get on brilliantly (we are like chalk and cheese), but she's looking after ds one day a week from Jan when I'm at work. She's going to make an effort to spend more time with ds over the next few months so they get to know each other better. Out of all the people we'll have looking after him, I'm most worried about my sister. MIL spends a lot of time with him and we're very similar, dp's fine, and the nursery seem fab...my sister just lacks confidence, so doesn't inspire it in me, IYSWIM. And we have very different parenting styles and ideas (she's too soft, imo). Still, she's doing us a huge favour, and I'm hoping it'll only be for 12 weeks as I am not happy to be working full-time for any longer than that, just didn't want to have to pay back half my maternity money.

Sorry for huge post!

grinningbee · 05/10/2011 10:15

Glad you're back in the swing of things Hedge, and happy 3rd birthday to ds! Dd turned 2 1/2 yesterday and like you I just don't know where the time has gone.

Slinky Pears = poos? Oh boy, I could be in for a good day with ds today then! Good luck with your sister today. Hopefully it will go better than you expect.

Off to do the weekly food shop in a bit. I wish there weren't stacks of mince pies everywhere as they are a weakness of mine. We went through loads last time Blush

We have 11 weigh ins until Xmas. Eeeeeeeek!

(Promise I'll go and get checked, just need to co-ordinate with dh)

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 05/10/2011 10:29

Bee just eat the middle of the mince pie and throw the pastry out Grin it's only fruit after all

grinningbee · 05/10/2011 10:36

You are a wicked woman Hedge Grin.

Erm, can I apply the same logic to fruit cake? Wink Damn, now I'm thinking of thick icing and marzipan.

Anyone else see a 7lb gain coming over Xmas week in the Bee house? Lol.

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 05/10/2011 12:03

I know Bee Grin

I tried the pastry removal technique on a chicken pie the other day, it makes you realize how little filling there is in them and most of them is the fatty pasrty
