Oops we're full up again! Hope it's OK to start a new thread. Come on Jillian devotees, let's keep up the good work and the great results!

as I crawled over to the pc (unable to climb the stairs post-Ripped yet for my shower) I console myself with the fact that Basheera puts her hand down on the rock and rolls and in the second set of jumping lunges she starts doing the beginners version half-way through! Clutching at straws I know but these small things do make me feel better. L3 still killing me!!

knottyhair · 10/02/2012 10:16

Keep it up everyone! Wanted to do L2 Killer Buns today but have been up with DS since 2.30am - bless him, sickness bug I think. So I'm troughing down peanut butter on toast whilst he watches Spongebob instead.

worldgonecrazy · 10/02/2012 10:18

I cannot do 'rock and rolls' at all. Even with hands it takes me ages to sit down, middle bit is easy, but then standing back up involves hands, bending legs and twisting to the side and feeling dizzy from banging my head on the floor. This morning I just did supermans instead.

VenetiaLanyon · 10/02/2012 10:39

Can I ask: how much worse is level 3 Ripped than L2?

Nolda · 10/02/2012 11:05

Sounds v scary to me, Venetia. I'm due to start Level 3 tonight but I think I'm going to stick with Level 2.

Hope DS is feeling better, Knotty.

Happypiglet · 10/02/2012 11:15

Lol pixel
knotty hair my middle DC is off sick today too so my plans to Shred have also been scuppered! However I have spent an hour shovelling snow so all is not lost!
Might do something tonight if I can be bothered!

threestepsforward · 10/02/2012 11:18

Morning!

Venetia I am religiously doing it. Although I've gone back to the start a few times because of my knee, so I'm sure I must have done the quota! I think I'll do one last L2 next week to ease me back in before attempting L3.

I watched L3 to see what was awaiting me. Yikes! I tried a duck walk to see how it 'felt' and my dog went nuts, think it was the comedy duck noises from DP along with the duck arms and that sent him over the edge Grin (Or is the duck walk in L4, I watched both and am not sure now!)

Hope DS gets better soon Knotty...

Will check in again next week. Happy weekends all Smile

threestepsforward · 10/02/2012 11:19

x-posted happypiglet, oh dear, seems like all the bugs are flying around at the moment Sad. Hope your DC gets better soon too

notyummy · 10/02/2012 12:04

Hope sick DCs get better soon!

Can I confess in a rather sadistic way to actually quite liking rock and rolls?

Duck walk is L3. V tough if you do it properly. I was berating DH for cheating because he wasn't low enough Grin

Just done NMTZ. It actually didn't feel too bad at all, but I think that is because I have had 2 days off. Off to my mums tonight so just running saturday and sunday.

ExcitedElectrons · 10/02/2012 12:36

Hello everyone :o don't know what day of shred I'm on i lost count but have been doing it every day, I started level 3 today and I took lots of breaks it was sooo hard, but then I felt bad so I completed level 3 then did level 2 straight after Shock. I am dying :(

notyummy · 10/02/2012 13:04

Well done Excited - not surprising that you are dying - don't be sad! I think doing a double is great if you are up to it. I guess not so good if you overdo it and injure yourslef...

ThePaxton · 10/02/2012 16:38

Wow everyone's doing really well. Did L1 of Ripped yesterday and really enjoyed it. Rest day today, am hoping having the rest day during the week and exercising over the weekend will stop me biffing at the weekend and not exercising. We'll see.

ExcitedElectrons · 10/02/2012 23:36

Thank you notyummy, am trying so hard but I don't feel like I've lost any weight!

catsareevil · 11/02/2012 11:16

Can I join this thread? I completed 30DS last week, and have started RI30. I have just done my second session of week 1. I actually did feel like I was going to pass out by the end of it, but on the other had I did manage to do it Basheera style all the way through.

I'm only using 2kg weights. 30DS has given me arms like a shot-putter, and that isnt really the look I'm going for Grin

chocolateshoes · 12/02/2012 10:41

welcome ExEl and Cats! ExEl don't forget muscle wieghs more than fat - so look and cm loss rather than weight loss. Keep going - it will work!

Am feeling vvvvvvvvvvvv pleased - have just managed L4 of Ripped with 5ks for most of it apart from the Supermans (i have a clicky shoulder in that position) and I found it much easier than I thought although I must have missed the 1st in each exercise as I was watching what to do. I reckon Jillian always makes the penultimate level mega hard so that the last level doesn't seem such a jump. I always found L2 Shred harder than L3 for example.

Not only that but I bought a pair of skinny jeans in size 10 yesterday!!!! I took 12 & 14 into the changing room and had to go back into the shop to get the 10s. Yippeee! I love JM!

McPie · 12/02/2012 10:57

Welcome catsareevil and ExcitedElectrons to the Killian fold Grin
I was really proud of myself on friday as I managed to properly do the plank to squats in L1 Killer for the very first time, I may not have been quite as fast as the girls but I did it. Now I need to work on my burpees!
I may just go up and do the L2 6w6p and L1 shred that I didnt do yesterday later this afternoon, had a bottle of wine last night but feel ok, unlike last weeks post vodka workout Blush.
Dr's in the morning and I will bring up the lack of weight loss as its starting to worry me that there's something else going on Confused (thanks mum for putting that little gem in my head!).

notyummy · 12/02/2012 15:09

Well done in the weights Choc. I can only use 2kg for the supermen and dh was struggling with more than that so 5kg would probably be too much for nearly anyone I think. I did a 6 mile run yesterday and today and will be double shredding with dh tomorrow. He is huffing about the idea of doing Ripped again because it doesn't have enough weights in and is too tricky t balance Hmm. I have tried pointing out that the whole point of any exercise routine is to keep changing to challenge your body, but he HATES not being able to do something. He said 'maybe next weekend' so I will hold him to that!

catsareevil · 12/02/2012 17:32

Day 3 of RI30 week 1 today. I didnt feel like I was going to die or pass out today, so that good news. Smile

knottyhair · 13/02/2012 07:30

Welcome to Cats and ExcitedElectrons! Lots of great stuff going on. The supermans on L4 I can only manage with 2kg as well, and that's a bloody struggle! Chocolateshoes, I'm waving my pompoms at your size 10 skinnys!! It's such a great feeling, well done! Notyummy, my DP would be exactly the same as your DH.
I succumbed to DS's D&V bug on Sat night and I'm only just feeling a bit more normal but no Jillian for me for a couple of days. I'll do a RI30 on Weds if I feel up to it - fingers crossed. Hope you all have a good day xx

OP posts:
chocolateshoes · 13/02/2012 11:20

I can't even do 2kg Knotty! have to drop right down to 1!!!! I blame it on my clicky shoulder. L4 for the 2nd time today - much more tiring than yesterday! Then I realised I hadn't had any breakfast or coffee yet so maybe that didn't help!

Poor you Knotty - there's lots of it going around at the moment. Hope it doesn't strike me down during half-term.

Well done cats! Keep going!

threestepsforward · 14/02/2012 09:59

Hello to all and welcome to cats and excited!

Had a lovely but slovenly weekend so am ready to get back in the Jillian zone this week Grin

Finished my last L2 of Ripped yesterday and will be, with trepidation, attempting my first L3 tonight... Will report back this evening if I survive!

Knotty hope you are feeling better.

Chocshoes well done!! That is brilliant, go you!! I'm also extremely impressed with the weights. I found some 3 kgs at TK Max so that will be my maximum weight limit now. I have 1.5 kg, 2.5 kg and 3 kg and suspect I will be using all 3 sets!

Have a good day everyone Smile

notyummy · 14/02/2012 10:09

Good luck with L3 today THreesteps. DH and I did L2 and 3 of the Shed yesterday which was hard work as always. Why don't those jumping lunges get any easier?! I also find the squat and pull thingy (in the first strength circuit of L2) really tough and cannot manage anything heavier than 3kg for those (struggle to finish them all with 3kg as it is!)

Day off today - L2 6W6P tomorrow I think.

ExcitedElectrons · 14/02/2012 12:35

At the moment I only have the 30DS. I want to buy another one of Killian's (Wink) DVD's but I don't know which one - would either be RI30 or 6W6P, so what do you ladies prefer? And what will get me a toned stomach quicker?

:o

McPie · 14/02/2012 12:43

Hope you are feeling better knottyhair
I have decided to stop doing L2 6W6P as I find the twisting and the speed really hard going and I am not able to do the moves the way they are intended to be done. I fear I will end up doing myself an injury which I really dont want so will stick to L1 for now. I am finding L2 killer quite good, its a challenge but I dont feel I cant do any of the moves, I'm sort of inbetween the two girls.
I missed my workout waiting for a delivery yesterday so will do two sets tomorrow (6w6p and shred am and killer and ripped pm) as we have nothing planned and will do my l2 killer and ripped this afternoon, well thats the plan unless my Kenwood Prospero turns up and Im too excited to do anything other than bake Grin (thank god I cant eat most of it!).

notyummy · 14/02/2012 13:20

Excited - Ripped has more variety so arguably will last you longer and stop you getting bored - 4 levels etc. Not as focussed on the tummy as 6W6P though. Ripped is shorter than 6W6P by 5/10 minutes. I think I would buy them both [win]. But probably start with Ripped.
