Oops we're full up again! Hope it's OK to start a new thread. Come on Jillian devotees, let's keep up the good work and the great results!

Everyone's working so hard! I haven't managed any Jillian for 3 days due to various reasons too boring to mention but am back to it today - 4 circuits of NMTZ this morning. We bought an XBox 360 with Kinect yesterday, and DP and I set it up at lunchtime and spent a couple of hours laughing at each other attempting track & field events (I can't time the hurdles AT ALL). DS was so surprised and chuffed when he got in from school. Have now seen on Amazon a Kinect game called Jillian Michaels Fitness Adventure......

L3 Ripped again today and still so hard. However I was very pleased to notice that even Basheera has to put her hands down when she goes backwards on those creeping things in the 1st strength circuit. You see her put her hands down and then they deliberately cut her out of the camera shot. I am not alone!

Good luck everyone with Jillian this weekend - at least its a way to stay warm!

notyummy · 04/02/2012 12:24

Yez - it is isn't it? DH and I have just done L3 Ropped and the first 2 of level 4. The cardio in the second circuit of level 4 is TOUGH! Full jumping burpees straight into scissor squat jumps.

chocolateshoes · 04/02/2012 16:08

i wonder if I'll ever be ready for L4!!!

Bproud · 04/02/2012 18:14

14/30 6W6P completed, last level one to do tomorrow. I'm a bit scared about level 2 though...

knottyhair · 05/02/2012 08:41

Did my 1st Ripped L4 this morning - hard, but I prefer it to L3! notyummy, you are so right about the cardio in the 2nd circuit - the 1st time round was OK but I had legs of lead on the 2nd go! Must admit I only used 2kg for the 1st strength circuit, as my right arm is very sore this morning. Think I was a bit "over-enthusiastic" yesterday trying to knock out DP on Kinect Boxing Blush.

Well done knotty sounds like you have had a busy weekend. Well, I finally finished L1 6w6p, tho in my case more like 16w6pack Grin I've just realised I am going to be away from home for the next 3 weeekends so I don't know when I am going to find time to fit in my Jillian fix...

threestepsforward · 05/02/2012 15:45

How about a 16week-16pack bproud Grin Well done on getting through level 1...tricky about the weekends away, could you squeeze one in during the week maybe?

Knotty and notyummy, what the hell are scissor squat jumps? Is that cardio bit worse than plank jacks followed by mountain climbers in L2 Shock? Hope you haven't done yourself an injury with the Kinect knotty!

Am going to attempt L2 Ripped later today. I've forgotten what was in it (apart from plank jacks followed by mountain climbers) so should be a shock surprise...

McPie · 05/02/2012 16:41

I gave l2 6w6p a try on friday and I found it tough going but enjoyed it, my bum on the other hand did not as it aches whenever I move. I wanted to do l2 killer yesterday but was waiting for a delivery that never arrived Angry so gave it a go today. Never again will I work out the night after a drink as by the end of it I wanted to puke! It will take a lot of work to get used to that one as I find the burpes and surrender type moves very very hard.

chocolateshoes · 05/02/2012 20:57

Well done on L4 Knotty! Good to know L4 is possible. Am not sure I'll ever by ready...

notyummy · 05/02/2012 21:05

Scissor squat jumps are also in Banish fat Boost Metabolism (although can't remember which one - but one of the toughter ones!) Basically, imagine a squat jump, but in mid air you are quickly pulling your legs inwards and scissoring across each other before landing (like hollow man with scissors in NMTZ if you have that....but in mid air!)

knottyhair · 06/02/2012 10:50

L2 6W6P done this morning. Still the hardest thing so far for me - I think it's the speed! Was thinking of giving Killer Buns L2 a go later in the week but after reading McPie's post, I'm a bit scared!

OP posts:
McPie · 06/02/2012 11:31

A lot of the moves in L2 killer need strength which I have not got at all, I am working hard on it but find things like surrenders impossible when I have to drag my 15 1/2 stone bulk off the groung without the use of my arms.
Weight is pissing me off now, I was 3 lb down but am now back to being 1 lb off where I started at new year. Its really not doing my fragile mental health any good so the scales, which never made it back to mums after my last official weigh in, will be going again and I will ask the dr for more help when I next see her. Going by past experience destruction is next, whether it be of my excersise plan or my relationship as I end up thinking "whats the point im getting nowhere?" or "why the hell would he want to touch me? It must be pity?". Dh says he really does not give two hoots about my weight but things are always better when I happier so he would rather I pushed for happy than weightloss.

Jacksterbear · 06/02/2012 11:58

knotty - snap! Wonder if we were suffering through doing it at the same time? Grin

McPie Sad sorry you're feeling so crap, stay with it, even if it's not helping your weight the exercise will be benefitting you in other ways, energy and fitness levels and such.

threestepsforward · 06/02/2012 13:59

Hello Smile

Notyummy, ah, I remember those from BFBM - I think they are in the second-to-last circuit when you're feeling knackered...I will not be looking forward to them in L4 Ripped!

Well done everyone with their endeavours. McPie, so sorry you're having a tough time. I would definitely recommend booting the scales out the window and concentrating on measurements if you can. The GP is probably a good idea too as lack of loss (considering the amount you do!) could be down to an intolerance of some kind? I'm only musing though and far from an expert, but it can't hurt to ask can it?

Did L2 Ripped last night and was a bit of a mess by the end! Changed the lunge/twisty things in the final cardio bit for jumping jacks with light weights as I'm not confident enough with knee yet to be twisting it around at speed! Also have bloomin chilblains that hurt when I'm thudding around but have started taking Ginko which apparently helps. Am away this coming weekend so will be finishing up L2 and embarking upon L3 at some point next week, hurray!!!

Hope everyone is having a good day...

threestepsforward · 06/02/2012 14:00

Gawd, my posts are always so LONG! Sorry Blush

notyummy · 06/02/2012 17:12

Sorry to hear about the weight McPie - GP sounds like a good idea. Have you done any extreme diets in the past? Just wondering if your metabolism could be hanging on to weight as a result? You certainly work hard enough, and as others have said, the benefits of it must be seen in overall health.

Inspired by you I have just done L2 Killer. I have only done the DVD once since I got it, and that was L1 and the first circuit of L2. TBH, in general I didn't find it too bad - but I quite like the strength stuff in a sadistic way (!!) I am ex-military and even before I 'met' JM I knew I could do full press-ups etc having been screamed at by scary PT staff. I can now do surrenders with 5KG (aalthough it is bloody hard work.) Hardest bits for me were single leg burpees (ouch!) and the star jumps at the end. Still a good workout though.

I was slightly distracted by JM eyelashes. Am convinced she is wearing false ones. She has definitely got more 'Hollywood' since the Shred!

Oh - and as predicted, DH found some of L3/4 Ripped a real struggle on Saturday. The ones in L3 where you sit down, do a reverse curl and then push up to stand and jump without using your hands were beyond him. It was hilarious as he was staggering all over the place and went flying into the patio door. Both of us were sniggering so much we couldn't finish them all - at least it took my mind off the pain Grin

chocolateshoes · 06/02/2012 19:43

haha notyummy! enjoyed that vision of your DH. I can do those if I cross my ankles on the way up but I guess that's cheating big time. I've been distracted by JM's top half - am sure she's had a boob job....

Have just done Tabata - feel like I've been run over by a very large lorry

McPie · 06/02/2012 19:45

Thanks guys I am back at the Drs in the next 2 weeks or so and will bring it all up then as I have a log of food and excersise since the new year.
I have not eaten wheat for about 8 years now and dairy has been causing me issues for about 6 months or so but Dr was not too bothered as I had cut them out to stop the reactions. Funny but the weight only went on when the dairy started to bother me but even though I cut out the stuff that caused the reactions I have struggled to drop the 1 stone 4 pound that went on.
At least I get to pick up my new glasses tomorrow, really strange thing to get excited about but without them lifes a big blurry blur!

threestepsforward · 06/02/2012 20:08

So Jillian is possibly sporting false eyelashes and false boobs Shock. I've definitely noticed she gets a little bit more glam with each new DVD. DP is a little bit in love with her if truth be told... as am I

Hope the docs can help you get to the bottom of the problems McPie. Enjoy the new glasses Smile

McPie · 07/02/2012 17:03

Well my sucky body is working against me again! I felt fine yesterday until about 7pm and everything went down hill since then. I have had a really bad upset stomach and have spent the day feeling sick. I could have puked on the bus coming back from the opticians this morning. I have spent the afternoon in my jammies drinking mint tea in the hope I will feel slightly better. My planned workouts have been moved to sunday and will be visiting the Dr on monday for my repeat prescription and to see where we go next about my weight.

threestepsforward · 07/02/2012 17:56

Sounds like a good plan to lay off exercise for the time being McPie. Hope you feel better soon and the GP can help. It must be so frustrating for you Sad

Day 4 of L2 Ripped here. Am really enjoying it (after I've finished!). The plank jacks followed by mountain climbers really do me in, I nearly don't make it through the second set of mountain climbers, how cruel to make them the first cardios!!

Hope everyone else is doing well Smile

chocolateshoes · 07/02/2012 19:48

oh McPie poor you. I think you need to rest up for a bit.

have lost track how many days I've been doing L3 of Ripped but am finding it really difficult still & this evening was no easier. So much balancing!

Bproud · 07/02/2012 22:18

I watched and stepped through the moves for L2 6w6p tonight (I like to 'learn' the moves before I attempt them). OMG it is terrifying!! I am really worried about hurting my knees with all the sudden twisting, will give it a proper go later in the week, if I survive I will report back Grin
McPie sorry you are feeling ill - have you been tested for hiatus hernia? - it can make you feel very nauseous and bloated. If you do have it this type of exercise may not be ideal, you might find walking outdoors lifts your mood and provides an exercise regime you can maintain even when you don't feel 100%

ThePaxton · 08/02/2012 10:54

McPie Sorry you're feeling unwell. Best to rest and get better.

I've done nothing for 2 weeks, was ill the first week and couldn't be arse last week. So I decided to go back to the Shred. Did L1 yesterday and today. I feel fab today. Why don't I remember that feeling when I can't be arsed so I do some exercise. Weight loss has stalled (obv) so am back in the zone this week. I have much more stamina from the last time I did that level. Hope everyone has a good dayx
