Hi all. I am in Paris and did a run this morning around the Eiffel tower and along the Seine!!

Faux- most people find the transition from 1 to 2 quite hard- of this is the case for you then don't be disheartened (you may find it a breeze!)

chocolateshoes · 01/02/2012 16:56

Bonsoir Yummy! What a lovely run! Bet its cold in Paris....

Welcome BProud!

I'm going to move on to wk3 of RI30 later tonight. I did the warm up from it (before doing the Tabata) last night and she did seem to have stepped up the pace so I'm feeling nervous. At least I'll be warm!

Bproud · 01/02/2012 19:31

Thanks for the welcome I'm very impressed with your form ladies! No exercise today, a really long day at work, and feeling too knackered and full of pasta now. Planning a walk at lunchtime tomorrow, and hope to catch up a bit over the weekend.

chocolateshoes · 01/02/2012 21:00

omg...I found week 3 RI30 a nightmare. My poor legs.....sob.....

notyummy · 01/02/2012 22:14

Hi Bproud and welcome.

I also found L3 Ripped pretty tough!

Trying to decide whether to run in the morning. Not often I get to run in the sunshine in Paris. But it is sooooooo cold! Could try and do 6W6P on iPad in hotel rm instead. Limited space and 5th floor so probably L1. Will see...

FauxFox · 02/02/2012 09:23

Level 2 D1 Shred done - Oh my! Def harder that Level 1 but I liked some of it - especially the walking press ups. I am not sure my position was quite low enough on the plank style cardio and I found the plank jacks hard/awkward, but hey, that's why I get to do it for 10 days to get better, no? Oh and my arms are not fast enough on the double skipping (i'm so un co-ordinated!) Blush

FauxFox · 02/02/2012 09:23

*than level 1

threestepsforward · 02/02/2012 09:26

Morning!

Oooo I'm getting nervous about higher Ripped levels from the feedback here! Will watch L3 once I've started on level 2 next week so I know what I'm in for...

What did you opt for in the end notyummy? Was speaking to a work contact in Paris yesterday and she said it was -4 degrees there - Made my grumbling about 3 degrees pretty tame! She said she loves the cold crazy lady

D6 Ripped later today, have a good one everyone Smile

threestepsforward · 02/02/2012 09:28

Cross-posted with you Fauxfox, congrats on day 1 Level 2!! I can never get my arms going fast enough on the double jump-ropes either, I end up jumping higher to make up for it!

worldgonecrazy · 02/02/2012 10:16

Very jealous of anyone who is in Paris in any weather. I'm only mangaging to get a day and a half there this year, and haven't been there for nearly 3 years! I get dreadful withdrawal symptoms too, I so wish I was there right now.

How wonderful to be able to run around the Eiffel Tower.

ThePaxton · 02/02/2012 10:57

Welcome Bproud. Notyummy that run around the Effiel Tower sounds lovely. threesteps I'm getting worried about doind L3 RI30 too. I did 3 circuits of BFBM yesterday, after no exercise for 1 and a half weeks, and am aching today. Plan was to do BFBM until weekend and start L3 on monday. Have a good day everyone.

McPie · 02/02/2012 11:31

I hope to be back in the game tomorrow morning and will be giving shred a go as Im feeling better now (just need to catch up on sleep) but ds2 is off nursery today with a sore throat, head, achey legs and he is a few shades paler than normal with droopy eyes. Poor thing he had to watch his twin sister get ready for nursery and wanted to go too.

gingercat12 · 02/02/2012 12:54

McPie Bless! Hope you'll both feel better soon.

notyummy I do not really envy the running, but I'd love to be in Paris, too.

Am on D7 of L2 of the Shred. I'll spend a few more days here than 10, I think. Although it is amazing how much I improved.

I have a big fat tummy (and bum), what do you think my next exercise dvd should be?

worldgonecrazy · 02/02/2012 14:07

oooooh - just had a thought! Rather spookily I am shredding like mad because of my upcoming day and a half in Paris!

Happypiglet · 02/02/2012 14:32

Well went mad this week. I tried BFBM on Monday and managed to get through it although did have to stop a bit on the last two circuits. Hard work! Then yesterday I tried NMTZ for the first time. I loved it but can hardly walk today my calves and glutes are so achy!
So just done three hours of cleaning today which according to MyFitnessPal is actually quite a lot of calories burned!
Going to squeeze in a L1 Shred tomorrow morning- was going to do L2 but not sure my body can stand it!
I love Jillians DVDs although if I was lucky enough to be in Paris not sure I would bother!!,

notyummy · 02/02/2012 15:52

Well I did l1 6W6p in the end. Was minus 7 at 9 this morning and I couldn't face running! Will run tomorrow. We have walked a LOT yesterday and today. Dh measured it and he reckoned 7 miles yesterday (plus a 5 mile run on top) and 6 miles today. Plus walking up the first 2 levels of the Eiffel tower yesterday because the lift was broken. Eating and drinking plenty though!

Hope your DS feels better soon Mcpie.

Ginger- I would say any combination of running, 6P6P and Ripped would burn fat and target tummy and bottom.

threestepsforward · 03/02/2012 10:06

Morning!

Happypiglet I thing Jillian's DVDs are ace too. I've never got on with any others in the past.

Gingercat the other one you could look at is Burn Fat Boost Metabolism. It's cardio mainly but boy you feel well worked out at the end! I think there's an abs bit in that too? I could be wrong though, it's so long since I've done it...

Last day of L1 Ripped today Grin. Feels like Groundhog Day I've been here three times now I think, but knee area is feeling fine so perhaps I really will progress from here and manage to get all the way through L2!

Hope your DS is feeling better today McPie.

Have a great day all

threestepsforward · 03/02/2012 10:13

Ooo meant to add there's a yoga place opening up just down the road from me in the Spring, will definitely go along and see if I like it. It's the one you do in a really hot temperature (is it bikram yoga?)

I was talking to my American cousin who moved over here last year and I asked her what she missed most about America - she said 'hot yoghurt', which I thought was strange but each to their own. She in fact was saying hot yoga, it took a while for the penny to drop!

chocolateshoes · 03/02/2012 10:16

hot yoghurt - lol!

have just done wk3 RI30 and I fear I will be doing it forever I'm so rubbish at it. My balance is poor and I find myself clinging to the sofa my legs are so tired. Jillian may be breaking me!!!!!

threestepsforward · 03/02/2012 10:40

Noooooooo Chocshoes!!! She can't break you!
Keep going, I remember being on L2 Shred for what felt like weeks Grin
I'm wibbling now about getting beyond L2!
Off to walk the dog, blue blue skies but cold as buggery!

McPie · 03/02/2012 12:06

Little lad is fine now and jumping around like normal, wish I could get over things in 24 hours like he can.
I am back shredding and have done 2 L1 this morning with heavier weights (2.2kg instead of 0.9kg) and found the cardio easier, still cant do jumping jacks as they hurt my knees so done the arms with a front kick from Ripped.
Still have L1 Killer to do later on when dh gets in and I cant wait Grin

notyummy · 03/02/2012 14:24

You can do it Chocolate!

Another run in the freezing cold in Paris today. Was -9, which is certainly an incentive to keep the speed up. Really enjoyed it actually. Back home this evening and plan to do 1 1/2 levels of Ripped tomorrow- or maybe two if enough time. Dh going to do it with me and I suspect he will miss the cardio and some of the upper body strength stuff. He might just go straight in using 5kg weights, but that is difficult to do when you don't know all the moves....

gingercat12 · 03/02/2012 16:49

Thank you for the advice. In other words I just need to work my way through the Jillian dvds and run. That is what I thought. I am on day 8 of L2 Shred. I probably did not do it well enough yesterday, as there was a lot of commotion in the lounge, but I will be better today.

Have a very good weekend.

Bproud · 03/02/2012 18:48

been to the gym today and managed to run for 15 minutes Shock I was aiming at 1 mile which is about 11/12 minutes, but I could hear Jillian's voice in my head telling me to work harder LOL
6W6P tomorrow and sunday then I move on to level 2 next week.

Have a good weekend, stay warm.

threestepsforward · 03/02/2012 21:56

Great stuff Bproud! I'm an awful runner and am always full of admiration for people who do. Happy 6W6P'ing this weekend Smile

I finally finished L1 Ripped again today. Thought I felt my pesky knee going, in the crescent pose, but seems to be okay now. I think part of the problem is I'm over-aware of it now, hey ho. Will tentatively try a L2 at some point this weekend.

Have a good weekend all!
