Oops we're full up again! Hope it's OK to start a new thread. Come on Jillian devotees, let's keep up the good work and the great results!

I'm completely in awe of any of you doubling up on Jillian in any way shape or form Grin. Hope those of you with injuries are recovering.
Did Ripped in 30 L2 again this morning. That first strength section with 3kg followed by plank jacks & mcs is a killer on my arms! And as for the crow push-ups - think I looked more like a penguin scrabbling up onto an iceberg than a crow Blush. I do like it though Smile. Plan for this week is 4 circuits of BFBM tomorrow, give L3 of Ripped a go on Weds, rest day Thurs, and Killer Buns on Friday. Have a good one xx

L2 6W6P done today and I whacked myself in the knee with my handweight again. Sigh. This time while doing the "low-to-highs". I am rubbish and unco-ordinated. But apart from that did enjoy it again.

Does anyone else find the "chops" (very first move: static lunges with diagonal arm swings) almost impossible to balance in?

Nolda, my DH was also ever-so-slightly patronising about the Shred until he actually tried it himself! Grin

Jacksterbear · 23/01/2012 17:56

p.s. am Grining at the thought of knotty's "penguin scrabbling on ice" move!

notyummy · 23/01/2012 18:25

Jackster - I think you have to hold your core really tight to balance in that bit ....which I suppose is kind of the point!

Jacksterbear · 23/01/2012 18:30

Thanks notyummy yes I guess that would make sense - will try squeezing core tighter next time! Smile

chocolateshoes · 23/01/2012 19:47

eveing everyone. wk 2 RI30 done for the 1st time. Wooosh. Didn't find it too bad but prbably because I always missed the beginning of each circuit to wtach what to do. Tomorrow will be hard I expect.

threestepsforward · 23/01/2012 20:14

Everyone's doing fab - am excercising vicariously(sp?) through you guys at the moment Grin

Did 20 mins of pilates again today (Jackster glad to hear you also felt the burn on the arms!).

Am going to give Ripped L1 a go on Thursday and hope that knee has mended, wish me luck!!

gingercat12 · 24/01/2012 08:40

I spent yesterday reflecting on double shreds and 5kg weights. Wow! All I can say is respect!

Sorry for my ignorance, but what does 6W6P and suchlike mean?

Am sticking to single shred, and noticed that I do exercises much more like Anita than Natalie, so that is an improvement. It is obviously an exaggaration, and it is more like a trend towards Anita.

notyummy · 24/01/2012 08:45

6W6P - 6 Week 6 Pack
BFBM - Burn Fat Boost Metabolism (Or Be Fat Be Miserable as it has been christened on another thread Grin)
NMTZ - No more trouble Zones

All Jillian DVDs. There is also Killer Buns and Thighs and Ripped in 30 - both released here recently.

Off for a run tonight (in the dark - how depressing - which means it will be short and prob 4 miles max.) 6W6P L 2 tomorrow and another run on Thursday.

knottyhair · 24/01/2012 08:45

Ginger, 6W6P = six week six pack. Other Jillian DVD acronyms are: BFBM = banish fat boost metabolism, NMTZ = no more trouble zones. The new ones are Ripped in 30 and Killer Buns & Thighs. HTH Smile!

notyummy and knotty Thanks a lot. Thanks

ThePaxton · 24/01/2012 13:49

Hi everyone, had a stinking cold so no Ripping here. Gutted, as was really getting into it and wanted to move to L3. Am going to do something tomorrow, not sure what yet, might do Ripped L1 then L2 on Thurs and L3 friday. I'm sure I'll be a spluttering mess which ever I do Grin

worldgonecrazy · 24/01/2012 14:01

L3 Ripped in 30 - I have been shredding and everything and she still finds muscles I didn't know existed. I feel very wussy.

knottyhair · 24/01/2012 14:26

Paxton, sorry you're still feeling crappy. It's so frustrating when you get on a bit of a roll and then something stops you in your tracks. Look after yourself.
Did 4 circuits of BFBM this morning. Definitely still prefer the workouts that include weights, but the standing mcs have got a bit easier. Going to attempt L3 Ripped tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll be feeling as wussy as you worldgonecrazy!

Hello - can I join in a bit please? Am on Day 2 level 1 of the shred - going to do the full 30 consecutive days and i'm hoping to see the difference...I am also running 3 x 30mins per week and lowish carbing...want to get from 11st5 (monday weight) to 9st12 so 1.5st to lose (and flabby tum and thighs to sort out!).

I love Jillian Grin might be tempted by Ripped in 30 when I am Shredded Grin

knottyhair · 25/01/2012 09:54

Welcome FauxFox! Sounds like you're working really hard - good luck with reaching your target.
Well, I did L3 Ripped this morning. Found it a real mix for "oh, this is OK" and "what the f**k!" Found those crouching walking things in the 1st strength circuit really hard! And I attempted those sit up things with arms behind the head with 3kg weights, and could barely lift my arms off the floor! And when I did, I managed to whack myself in the thigh. So need to drop down the weights for that move I think! And it's the return of the jumping lunges. Having said that, I really enjoyed it, and am loving the whole Ripped DVD so far. Not sure if I'll be saying that after L4...

OP posts:
McPie · 25/01/2012 10:03

Wonderful nugget from Jillian in L4 Ripped - "I am going to break you! I am going to break you in half! Because when I'm done with you you will be unbreakable!" My god she scares me! I have 2 more L4's left to do and I will have completed Ripped in 30 (6 days of each level).
knottyhair I found L3 tougher than L4 and ached for a few days afterwards. I also found it really hard going on my upper body in the last strength section.
Right enough wasting time L1 6W6P is calling me then I can go for my shower and enjoy an afternoon out with the kids when I pick them up at 12.

FauxFox · 25/01/2012 10:05

Thanks knotty 30 mins run and Day 3 L1 Shred done - am knackered and sweaty Grin

notyummy · 25/01/2012 10:23

Can i be really sad? It is my birthday on Sunday, and i intend to open the Ripped in 30 DVD first thing in the morning and do it as a 'welcome to my 40s' present Grin.

L2 6W6P just done. Quick run last night (3.5 miles in 25 minutes!) and longer run tomorrow.

knottyhair · 25/01/2012 18:11

Thanks for the info re:L4 Ripped McPie. FauxFox, running AND a Shred, that's pretty good going! notyummy, I think that sounds like a great way to welcome in your 40s! Make sure you have cake as well though Wink. Just bear in mind you'll probably find the lower levels a bit of a "cakewalk" Grin, given your level of fitness! Heavy weights will be required! Have a lovely birthday on Sunday.

VenetiaLanyon · 26/01/2012 12:31

Hi all, still out of action here, but seeing physio later, and am hopeful that I'll get back in the saddle next week.

Happy 40s on Sunday, notyummy. Ditto Knotty's wise words about consuming much cake as well as ripping.. Smile

threestepsforward · 26/01/2012 15:24

Hello all, and welcome Fauxfox Grin

Notyummy happy birthday for the weekend! I'm not far behind you, the big 40 for me too this year...yikes!

Good luck with the physio Venetia, hope you get the all clear. I'm attempting L1 of Ripped later this afternoon after a week of rest with this pesky injury, really hope I've left it long enough...

Will check in later Smile

FauxFox · 26/01/2012 15:31

notyummy if it's a treat for you then I think that is a lovely idea Smile

I've done Day 4 on level 1 shred today and am planning a 30 min run followed by day 5 level 1 tomorrow morning...rain permitting!

ThePaxton · 26/01/2012 19:05

Happy Birthday for Sunday notyummy. Good luck at physio Venetia
No ripping here, did some pilates instead to ease me back in. Am away over the weekend so will start L3 on Monday. Hope everyone has a gread weekend.x
