Oops we're full up again! Hope it's OK to start a new thread. Come on Jillian devotees, let's keep up the good work and the great results!

OP posts:
JelliBelli · 04/12/2011 21:39

Oh I am still Jillianing too, on my non running days btw Grin

notyummy · 05/12/2011 08:53

Hi Jelli! Have you got Burn fat Boost Metabolism? All cardio and if you do all the way through then it is probably the equivalent to a run. I also rate Billy Blanks Bootcamp Workout, although that is amixture of strength and cardio. I have a crosstrainer that I use when it is snowing or DH is away. I was out running at 6am this morning and had underestimated how icy it was- went sliding all over the place!

Ouchywawa · 05/12/2011 14:47

Well, I have been a bit slack the past week - did level 3 of the Shred on Monday and then a combination of work and other commitments meant nothing until...Saturday! I did BFBM and then went for a 10km run yesterday. I was supposed to get up and do 6W6P this morning but decided to sleep instead. Maybe tonight...

Impressed with your icy run this morning notyummy

JelliBelli · 05/12/2011 23:37

Thanks Notyummy - I have most of the others but I don't have BFBM. I think I will head over to Amazon tomorrow and splash out on it and BBBW. I couldn't face the snowy/icy run today so I do think I need to shop Grin

notyummy · 06/12/2011 09:56

Ouchy - sounds like an impressive exercise level at the weekend. Well done!

I only did 3.5 miles in the frost yesterday so nothing too strenuous. Combination of lack of time and my body not wanting to go much further in the cold and dark Grin

Jelli - BFBM is a good cardio workout. Takes between 45/50 mins if you do it all, but circuit 1 is really pretty easy, so you can use it as the warm-up to cut down on time if you are pushed.

Having posted about Billy Blanks, I intend to do his Bootcamp workout today, as I haven't done it for ages!

notyummy · 06/12/2011 21:21

JM has yet another DVD out. Extreme shed and shred! I assume that it won't be out here for quite some time, as we still have some others to be released here on Dec 26th (on my Amazon wishlist!)
I did Bilky Blanks Boot C amp DVD today for the first time in ages. Jillian has obviously been good for my core as I found the tough abs section easier than I remembered. Couldn't do all the press-ups though

threestepsforward · 06/12/2011 21:52

Oooo Extreme Shred... Can't wait Grin

I have Ripped in 30 pre-ordered notyummy!

Hope everyone's doing well. Jellibelli you sound like you're going great guns!

I've done 2 double-Shreds this week (L1 & L3, NEVER L2!). I've managed to keep up with the 2.5 kg weights which I'm really chuffed about.

So not liking this cold weather. I get chillblains and have them already Sad

notyummy · 07/12/2011 11:04

Well done on the double shredding! DH away so v pressed for time this week. Nothing today or tomorrow but no work on Friday so will def do something then.

Jacksterbear · 07/12/2011 14:08

Double shred?!! - wow 3steps!

Just done shred L2 - that was truly unpleasant. My vote for the worst ever Jillian move = the squat thrust, closely followed by the chair squat with a V raise. Did manage them all with 2kgs this time though, although a LOT of grunting went on in the second set!! Grin

threestepsforward · 07/12/2011 17:03

Enjoy the rest days notyummy, although I suspect you'll be getting twitchy by Friday Grin

Well done Jacksterbear on getting through L2. What is it about that level that makes it so tough?!? The sum of all the parts I guess! I'm keeping well away for the time being!

Hello to everyone else!

Just off to do L3, which I'm really enjoying (Hmm). The mountain climbers followed by sumo jumps is definitely the hardest bit for me...

Have a nice evening, wrap up warm, it's cold, brrrrrrrrrr

sassyTHEFIRST · 09/12/2011 17:03

On L2 day 5 or maybe 6 of the 30 day shred and I STILL can't finish it!

It's all that plank stuff, my arms are beyond weedy (though starting to look defined Grin) and after the V raises in the strength bit of cicuit 3 they just can't/won't support me for the plank ex's.

Is there hope?

notyummy · 10/12/2011 14:42

There is hope Sassy! Most people find L2 hideous. Unfortunately the only thing to go is to keep doing it and really push yourself. You should feel weak and trembly when you finish. It IS uncomfortable, but worth it in the end.

5 mile run yesterday (meant to do longer but got sucked into work things - on my 'non-working day' allegedly. Hmm.)

NMTZ today, which felt alright actually. Probably means I should be stepping the weights up in a couple of sections- but going from 3kg to 5kg in the places where I don't already use 5 seems like a real leap. 5kg surrenders anyone?!

Doing a double shred tomorrow and planning a run on Monday. Was just reading Zest magazine and it was eating the new fitness DVDs- Ripped in 30 got rated the best!!

knottyhohohohair · 11/12/2011 09:11

Wow, loads of great work going on here Smile! I'm finally back on the Jillian bus after about 3 weeks off due to various sniffles/coughs etc. Did L3 Shred this morning - tough but I loved it!

notyummy · 11/12/2011 10:53

rating the new fitness DVDs- not eating them!!

febes · 11/12/2011 19:14

I did NMTZs yesterday after ages of not doing it and went quite hard out. Very deep lunges and squats and I am sure feeling it today!! I also managed about 20secs of proper pressups in both sets but had to drop downto my knees for the last few. Best I've done though so I'll keep pushing! I don't go very deep on them though but it can only get better!!
I'll do a shred today while DD is at Kindy as I'm getting my hair done tonight so no time to run. I have 6 weeks holidays now (I'm a teacher and its our summer holidays now in NZ) so I'm going to do one of the Jillian DVDs 5+days a week and 3 x runs a week as well as a few bike rides and swims. I have 7 weeks until my third triathlon event which will be 800m swim, 20km bike and 5k run.
I want to keep up the DVDs to tighten and tone up my body. I have noticed my muscle tone has decreased slightly in my arms since I have been running more and NMTZing less (legs are looking good though!!)
I've now lost 37kgs (5st 9) and I am lucky that because I have shredded and other Jillian DVDs throughout the weightloss journey I don't have lots of loose skin but I have noticed more with the last few kilos. I still want to lose another 5kgs so need to keep up the Jillian torture!!

notyummy · 11/12/2011 21:18

Febes- at the risk of coming over all 'reality tv', your journey is really inspirational. What incredible results! People must hardly recognise you and you sound like you have completely changed your life.

I double shredded today. After blithely saying yesterday that NMTZ felt alright, I was actually quite achy today. Was determined to shred though as had party this afternoon and I knew it would involve a certain amount if overeating and drinking (and it did!) Did L1 and 3. Managed 5 kg for every single section in both shreds ( 7 kg for squat and clean thingy) except the side lunge and arm raise where I had to drop to 3kg. Suspect I will feel it tomorrow. It will be my only chance this week to run though as I am working from home and DH is abroad at the moment so I can't run any other time. Even if my thighs are screaming I have to get out there and hope it eases off!!

VenetiaLanyon · 12/12/2011 10:00

Glad to see you back, Knotty - so many bugs around at the mo

Notyummy, you've reminded me that I need to do a bit of pre-ordering of "Ripped in 30"; shall we all have a competition to see who can do it first?! Grin

Febes, that's blooming amazing results; I am v pleased with my 24 lbs, but you blow that out of the water!

Jacksterbear, chair squats with V raises probably wins the "Most awful" Jillian award from me - am also trying with 2kg, but can't keep up the speed...

Threesteps, I feel your pain on mountain-climbers, but think that I cheat a bit on sumo squats to make them not quite so punishing Blush

Hello everyone else; keep it up for the next 2 weeks, and then we can all have blow out Xmases!

notyummy · 13/12/2011 08:22

Venetia - I have a 'friend' on another thread who lives abroad and already has Ripped in 30. She says it is great! I don't think I will be doing it first, as I suspect DH will buy it from my Amazon wishlist for my birthday, which is at the end of Jan. Will be interested in any feedback I get from you lot first though!

Managed to get out for a 5 miler yesterday (wanted to do longer, but was supposed to be working from home and had already volunteered to help out at DDs school for an hour to supervise a Christmas party.) It felt ok actually - pain in legs from the NMTZ and double shred back-to-back had subsided a bit, and it was dry and sunny. Glad I made the most of it as the weather forecast for the next few days is grim. Nothing today....and possibly L2 of 6W6P on Wednesday .

knottyhohohohair · 13/12/2011 10:00

notyummy, those weights you used make me feel quite faint Grin! Febes, what an achievement! Really fantastic Smile. Jackster & Venetia, I would also award the Most Awful Award to the V raises.

Did 4 circuits of BFBM this morning (didn't manage anything yesterday as DS's christmas play was first thing.) Can't do anything for the next 2 days but plan to do 4 circuits of NMTZ on Friday and a Shred over the weekend. Not fitting in as much as I'd like due to extra Christmassy goings on but will do something as often as I can. Ripped in 30 and Killer Buns & Thighs are due to be despatched on 27/28 December so I'm waiting with bated breath! Can't wait to give them a go, although I suspect I won't feel like that afterwards. Hope everyone has a good day x

ThePaxton · 16/12/2011 08:59

Hi everyone, have been out of the Jillian zone for a couple of weeks.

Have just ordered Ripped in 30 and Killer Buns, it's in one DVD and a bit cheaper at 14.99 Once Christmas is out of the way I'll be back on the wagon. Grin

Am going to try and fit in a shred over the weekend. Hope everyone is okay.

notyummy · 16/12/2011 09:06

Hi all. Did a double shred on Wednesday (2 and 3). $ mile run in the pouring rain at 6am yesterday. GRIM. Out last night and this afternoon/evening so nothing today. Planning something tomorrow (possibly a run) but not sure I will be able to after 2 days on the booze!!

knottyhohohohair · 16/12/2011 10:51

Ooh, Paxton, that sounds like a bargain! Hope you get to Shred this weekend. Notyummy, that's dedication, running in the rain at 6am! Have a good time tonight, hope you're not too hungover tomorrow!
Did 4 circuits of NMTZ this morning with 3kg (the second lot of bicycle crunches after the other ab stuff KILLS me). Will Shred on Sunday, and hopefully fit something in on Monday morning before my MIL arrives for the day. Have a good weekend x

threestepsforward · 16/12/2011 20:18

Evening all Smile
Have been AWOL with life taking over and our Jillian taken a back seat!
Have managed a few Shreds over the last week or so, but really not much at all.
Hope everyone's doing well and managing to fit in some exercise here and there amongst the madness that is Christmas! (DP has hidden all the chocolate I've bought to so I can't eat it Grin)

Have a good weekend all
x

knottyhohohohair · 17/12/2011 08:54

Hi threesteps! I think managing any exercise at this time of year is a bloody achievement to be honest!
Have a bit more time than I thought this morning so did L1 Shred, with 3kg, and 2kg for the cardio (except for the punches, can't keep up the pace unless I use 1.5kg). It's definitely not a cake walk! Hoping to do L1 6W6P tomorrow, and 4 circuits of BFBM on Monday, as I can't do anything on Tuesday or Weds, and may be slightly hungover on Thursday after a girls' Christmas curry night on Weds! Have a good weekend everyone!
