I've switched all fizzy drinks to sparkling water.
I like bubbles.
Is that ok do you think?

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 31/07/2011 21:55

nevergoogle I'm sure that will help, because there is nothing in the water except carbon dioxide.

We've had a lovely weekend. I have really enjoyed my food and taken more time over it than I have managed in a while.
Tomorrow I plan to start doing The Shred, some serious toning up is needed.

ppeatfruit · 01/08/2011 09:10

Morning all. Theoriginal You have to read the labels 'cos sometimes they put wheat in stuff you would not think they would.!!

never as Ali says sparkling water MUST be an improvement for your health and teeth if nothing else! I never realised that there are 9 tspoons of sugar in every can of Cxxx (what i don't understand is the way a lot of people think it's good for DCs!) and the diet stuff is worse for you!! I saw a T.V. programme that was scientifically testing aspartame and all that other crap they put in sugar free everything and apparently our bodies don't recognise them as food so the testees were hungrier than ever after drinking them. I know I'm allergic to them! Sorry for the rant!!! Smile

TheOriginalFAB · 01/08/2011 14:48

DD just said she is going to fight with her brothers all holidays.

My lap top isn't working properly.

It is too hot.

I have cotton wool in me head, can't stand noise and couldn't speak properly this morning.

I need sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppppppppppppp.

franke · 01/08/2011 16:08

That's interesting about aspartame ppeat. I read something very similar about fruit sugars bypassing the body's mechanism to let us know we've had enough. What's the most common sweetener used in fizzy drinks in the US? Corn syrup. Makes you think dunnit?

ppeatfruit · 01/08/2011 16:42

Theorig Why don't you take them all out for a good walk or something might make you feel better too Smile. Did you have a wee drop last night?

franke I heard that about corn syrup too. What amazes me when you read the list of ingredients on most manufactured stuff is just how much of it you can't buy in a normal shop and you wouldn't put in your cooking even if you could!

TheOriginalFAB · 01/08/2011 17:06

Nope. No alcohol. I am seriously considering a very early night.

nevergoogle · 01/08/2011 17:40

I know, I know. I wouldn't dream of letting my children near a fizzy drink!
Yet i enjoy coke as pick me up.

BsshBossh · 01/08/2011 20:29

Hello all, have been away from thread a while as I tried to cut down on my Mumsnet addiction Blush but am back now. I slipped off the wagon a bit but am back on track again. Will resume fortnightly weigh ins from today.

My tummy is rumbling now so I'm looking forward to DH coming home so we can eat.

ppeatfruit · 02/08/2011 08:58

Hello and welcome back Bssh!! IKWYM about addiction when i'm away from a compooter i immediately lose weight!! TBH It's when i'm in London and catching buses and trains and babysitting etc. I'm trying to just come on this thread though my good intentions do tend to be just intentions!!

TheOriginalFAB · 02/08/2011 09:08

Morning! Well against my better judgement I found myself weighing myself this morning. I have listenend to the first CD at bedtime for 3 nights now and I have lost a whole pound Grin. My period finished yesterday so I hope it wasn't because of that, but because I have no idea how, but I am not thinking about food constantly like I used to .

Solo · 02/08/2011 09:14

Hello, I'm still here!!!
Got the ball on Saturday and I came on yesterday after 3 months off! bloody typical!!! I always have my period for the ball, but thought I might actually not get it this time!!!
Stayed at Mums last night and this morning, I've managed to drip blood on her cream bedroom carpet so was just on here to try to find out a remedy so thought I'd say hello

TheOriginalFAB · 02/08/2011 09:29

Thanks Solo.

Milk or spit is meant to get blood out if you want the natural route.

Solo · 02/08/2011 10:14

Thanks FAB :)
I used cold salt water, just dabbed it on with cotton wool balls and it was gone in seconds!!! really impressed!

MuffinsMummy · 02/08/2011 11:25

Brilliant fab

I need to start listening to CD again but haven't managed to put it back on my phone yet. I weighed myself yesterday and have lost a whooping great 1/4 lb Grin at least it's in the right direction!

TheOriginalFAB · 02/08/2011 13:58

That is good is gone, Solo.

A loss is a loss, MM!

Niecie · 02/08/2011 15:20

Hello ladies.

Haven't been around for a few days. Been a bit busy with the boys and a holiday club we are doing this week, just for the mornings but no let up early mornings. I am a smidgen down as this time last year I helped with the holiday club and had lost nearly 2 stone by then. I remember thinking to myself that a year from then (i.e now if you are still with me!) I should be at my target. Fat chance (if you'll pardon the pun) Only just getting to grips with the half stone I put back on.Sad

Haven't weighed in for ages so I suppose I will in the next few days as we are away next week so I want to know if a week's holiday has done any damage! It could be all the extra activity wipes out any extra eating...... or it might not.

I could do without this hot weather though. Too hot for me!

Solo - bad luck about AF. Hope it is under control by Saturday.
FAB - well done on your lb. You must be pleased Smile
MM - A loss is indeed a loss. Smile

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/08/2011 21:44

Hello everyone :)

It is far too hot for me. DS2 just wants to feed all the time, and he and I get hotter and hotter and more and more sweaty. Nice.
Also, I find that I am too hot to each much during the day, but then as soon as I cool down in the evening I am starving and eat far too much too quickly.

Well done on the losses, and welcome back Bssh :)

ppeatfruit · 03/08/2011 08:47

Morning allSmile nice to hear from Solo and niecie again. Generally sounds more positive doesn't it?COME ON NOW THIS WORKS WE ALL KNOW IT!!!! I know i have to work at the consciousness while eating rule.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 03/08/2011 10:39

I listened to the CD last night for the first time in about 2 months, I really think it does help. Despite a not brilliant night's sleep I am feeling focused and unemotional about my food Grin

ppeatfruit · 03/08/2011 16:44

Well done Ali !! I've got a good exercise for waking yourself up properly; it's a fantastic stretch:
A. Kneel on all fours (i do it on the bed better for your knees IMO) for a couple of seconds.

B. Staying on all fours, push yr . whole body (well, your bum) back onto your folded legs with toes curled under feet, and stretch your arms out in front of you on the bed flattening out your torso (IYSWIM) and putting your forehead down on the bed.

C.Stay like it for as long as you feel comfortable 5 seconds or so to start and repeat N.B. THIS IS QUITE A FULL ON STRETCH IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE START VERY GRADUALLY AND ONLY DO ONE OR TWO.

TheOriginalFAB · 03/08/2011 19:02

I just do not understand what is going on. I used to think about food constantly. Now I hardly am at all.

One thing, how often should I be weighing myself? I don't know what is worse, to not weigh for ages and then find I have lots 2 oz when I felt I had done well or weigh more often and only get 1lb loss at a time.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 03/08/2011 21:51

pp I do that one! I do press ups every other morning, I am gradually working up to being able to do 100 (have an iphone app to tell me how many :)). I only do them on my knees at the moment - post-section tummy muscles won't cope with me doing them on my toes just yet! But inbetween the sets of press ups I do that stretch and I love it.

Today has gone pretty well. I am planning to listen to the CD again tonight, DS2 depending!!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 03/08/2011 21:52

Fab - don't weigh at all? What are your clothes telling you?
