FAB Sad Did you have your ice lolly? I hope it made you feel better.

TheOriginalFAB · 26/07/2011 20:59

I did have my ice lolly and I enjoyed it rather than feeling guilty. I am in bed now waiting for DH to finish work so I can go to sleep. I don't know how I am going to manage the rest of the summer holidays feeling as tired as this.

ppeatfruit · 27/07/2011 08:38

Good morning everyone Smile it's good to hear from you Franke glad you're still with paul. Thanks for the reinforcement, the need to be honest with yr self is very true, I know i'm hooked on the best dark choc. and will sometimes not wait till i'm hungry to have a couple of squares. It comes from the old habit of wanting (not needing) something sweet after my meal!

franke · 27/07/2011 09:54

I need something sweet too, but figure everything else is under control so a bit of dark choc isn't going to send me hurtling back to a size 14.

But don't tell anyone Wink

But seriously, I think when one starts to justify every little (or big) digression then what's the point? At that point one really has to question one's committment to addressing poor eating habits.

Solo · 27/07/2011 11:00

Morning!

ppeatfruit · 27/07/2011 12:05

IKWYM Franke The choc SHOULDN'T but my weight goes up and down like a yo yo so i have to take note and have the chocolate as a meal with a milky drink or something when i'm hungry.

Hi all,

DS1 is missing the last day of primary today. He still has a temperature, albeit not a massive one. School still didn't want him although we will go in shortly to give out the presents and pick up his PE kit and stuff. Got to pick up DS2 anyway from the same site so he might as well come. He seems OK in himself although I am waiting for him to say he doesn't want to go - he has missed most of the day so I would feel a bit odd about going in too if I were him. Just seems a shame not to at least show his face though.Sad

Eating is OK at the moment. I am supposed to be going to a staff/governor BBQ at the school this pm too. Not sure whether to go or not now but it would save me cooking!

Solo · 28/07/2011 01:04

Bad day! Bad day! Mum took usa to a Harvester this afternoon. Meal was pretty rank tbh, but I felt obliged to eat it Blush and Dd didn't eat much and wouldn't share the desert which was far too full of chocolate and I just had to finish it by myself.

OP posts:
Solo · 28/07/2011 01:05

No, Mum took US not America!!! to a Harvester... Grin

yeah i understood Solo!! Are you going on hols soon? EVERYONE goes away here about now (a good time to stay at home IMO)!

Kayzr · 28/07/2011 08:25

Can I just ask if this really does work? Also how long does it take to work?

I already eat very slowly to the point if we go out for a meal my friends all get pissed off because they have finished about 10 minutes before me. I just don't see how eating like I already do and being able to eat whatever I want is going to make any difference to my weight.

So how does it work?

Thanks

ppeatfruit · 28/07/2011 10:54

Welcome Kayzr yes it does work but you have to be properly hungry before you eat anything and STOP when you get the fullness feeling. To the point of putting half finished meals in the fridge or freezer. It takes a while to educate yrself to actually be aware of the feeling (so many of us have been pushed as DCs to clear our plates that we often override that particular feeling).

The time it takes is, I suppose, how hard you are able to concentrate. It is harder with a house full of DCs and a sceptical DH but some on here do it really well!

The Cds help also if you google "I Can make You Thin with Paul Mckenna."

TheOriginalFAB · 28/07/2011 11:22

This morning I weighed 13 stones Sad. Ideally would like to lose 3 stones [never gonna happen].

My book and cd arrived yesterday. In plain English, what do I do?

My period is due today so how will that effect me?

Had a big plate of melon for breakfast, will have salad for lunch and soup for dinner or the other way around.

Was wondering if the weight gain and tiredness was something else ConfusedHmm.

Solo · 28/07/2011 11:27

No holidays here :( really can't afford it...I was thinking of trying to find a tent on freecycle or somewhere free and take Mum and the kids camping for a few days, but I don't know if I'll get one. I stupidly gave my tent away earlier this year. It was given to me by my friend as it was her exh's and she was moving house, so I don't even know how many it would've held, but that's immaterial now as it's someone elses.

OP posts:
Solo · 28/07/2011 11:32

Listen to the CD's in bed FAB, if you go to sleep that's ok, it still goes in.
Stop being negative it wont help you acheive your 3 stone goal...though I would say cut it up into 6 and aim for half a stone at a time and celebrate each goal.

Judging by the things you're planning on eating today, I'm not sure you are eating enough tbh. Anyone else think that or just me?

FAB, are you saying you could be pg?

OP posts:
TheOriginalFAB · 28/07/2011 11:49

DH said it just isn't possible and I know he is right but there is a tiny tiny niggle tbh.

What else would you suggest I need to eat? I have had to give up bread as it doesn't like me but what about crackers to dip in the soup?

ppeatfruit · 28/07/2011 11:54

Aren't 'staycations" the new holidays though solo ? Have nice days out instead Smile

Fab is either pg or intolerant to wheat My DH feels ill and exhausted when he's eaten wheat and gets in a baaad mood, we keep tabs on it 'cos he doesn't usually eat it and now he's decided to go off it completely 'cos he was weighed at the docs and he's put on a stone ( he does not need to put any more on!)

ppeatfruit · 28/07/2011 11:57

Fab i forgot are you having snacks when you get hungry between meals? if not solo is probably right that you're not eating enough.

TheOriginalFAB · 28/07/2011 13:00

I am not hungry that much tbh but ready now for some lunch so so far today it has just been a big punnet of melon.

Niecie · 28/07/2011 13:39

FAB - have you been to the doctors about this because something isn't right here. I reckon there might be something else going on, especially since you are wondering yourself. I don't reckon it is the diet that is at fault. Even if you aren't eating enough, you would expect to lose initially from cutting back so hard and, correct me if I am wrong you haven't had the big weight loss at the beginning. (Apologies if that is wrong, it is too far to scroll back now and find out where you were at the beginning).

Are you eating too much sugar - you eat a lot of fruit. Could you have something like candida? Does this sound like you?

I probably shouldn't be playing amateur doctor but since this is an on-going thing if I were a betting woman, I would be putting bets on it being some sort of food related intolerance or illness.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 28/07/2011 14:03

Niecie I agree, something is not right here Fab.
Sorry if this is mega nosy, but are you taking antidepressants or anything? I know you had shingles, and don't underestimate how long it can take to get better from a 'proper' illness rather than just a cold or a 24 hour vomiting bug.
Ask the Dr if any if your blood tests have checked your sodium levels.

Solo · 28/07/2011 14:54

Melon is I believe, largely water though, so not enough substance to do anything good as far as weight loss is concerned.

Niecie, do you remember when we were on 'our' original thread and I put on weight because I just wasn't eating enough? that's why I brought that up with FAB.

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe80nappies · 28/07/2011 15:04

Fab - looking again. Melon, soup and salad. Pardon my language, but there is fuck all in that, seriously. You are a busy woman, house to run and a family to look after and you need energy. Feed your body, your strength. Eat meat, fish, nuts, oils, proper vegetables rather than lettuce/cucumber etc.

Your body will think it is experiencing a famine and hang on to every ounce of fat.

I am worried about you :(

Wecanfixit · 28/07/2011 15:06

Think this thread sounds great i have the book and CD need to read it , to get started thanks for the encouragement to all of you on here.

Solo · 28/07/2011 15:12

Pp I think you end up spending just as much money on days out than you would going away for a few days...fuelling up the car is a holiday in itself!!! Grin
