Well done everyone. Thanks for friends invite too, I don't know what's wrong with my phone, every time I try to get on mfp my phone cuts off. Bloomin thing! Anyway, not lost a bloody pound. I used my scales at home and I put on 3 pounds last week then when I weighed myself today I'm back to my original weight. All in all I've lost sweet FA. Jchocchip - I don't think it's that i'm not eating enough. I'm eating 1200 calories, which isn't much but should be enough to keep my metabolism working? Shouldn't it? I've been on thyroxine for just over a month now - could it be my thyroid? I feel really low about this. I'm just getting fatter and fatter and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, I can't seem to lose weight anymore! How depressing. Sad

jchocchip · 24/01/2012 22:52

well done on losing 3lbs. That is a big loss for one week.

RGPargy · 24/01/2012 23:09

Hi everyone :)

I'm still here but haven't been posting because i'm still being bad Blush

Am also suffering from sudden tiredness in the afternoons, which is a killer!! I will be going about my daily business and then suddenly WHAM!! I am feeling super super tired!! It happened while i was driving this afternoon at about 3.30pm and i really had to concentrate hard. Not fun when you have a 4 year old in the back! I think it's probably because i've been eating crap since the beginning of December and not drinking enough water lately either.

Has anyone else had this trouble? I have found that if i start to drink some water when i feel very slightly tired, it helps alot and the overwhelming tiredness doesn't hit so i'm hoping thinking it's deffo diet related. Was going to go out on the lash on Saturday night and have been slacking on good eating because of it but it doesn't look like i'm going out now so i really do have no excuse to slack off.

Am also wondering if it has something to do with my contraceptive injection coming to the end of it's cycle (thank god!!)..... Hmm Cant wait for this jab to get out of my system as it's made me want to constantly eat! I have put on a stone since about September BlushBlushBlushBlushAngry

Hello to any newbies and feel free to add me!!

Well done on all the losses. I am very Envy and :o of you!!

QueenStromba · 24/01/2012 23:34

Afternoon tiredness like that is almost certainly from eating too many carbs at lunch time.

jchocchip · 24/01/2012 23:40

I often get a 2pm dip and try to avoid motorway driving 2-3...
will try eating fewer carbs and see if it makes a difference.

bucketbetty · 24/01/2012 23:43

I don't think I put on and lost three pounds. I'm sure there must have been an error with scales. Long and shirt though is that I'm still the same weight despite significant reduction in cals. I clearly need to up exercise but not feeling up to it due to painful teeth.

bexsybooboo · 25/01/2012 07:07

Hey Guys

Sounds like everyone is doing so well and have got in to their routines now of food and exercise Smile

I'm still plodding along with it all but no real time to log on here and am on MFP briefly at mo due to lots of stuff going on at work then coming home seeing the family, waiitng for them to go to bed and then doing more work Sad am very tired at mo.

Still running 3 times per week Smile which is great as it proper clears my head and I have to be ready for my 10k first run in March Hmm it seems to be coming round quick.

I'm doing 2 runs of me plodding along and covering as much distance as I am able currently up to 3.5 miles and then one day with my mate from work which is a shorter run (2.5) but time is a lot lot quicker, he is pushing me but in a good way.

Just a bit Sad as not been able to do any just dance or zumba on the inbetween days due to work Sad

On a positive note I have joined the new gym that opens end of February and am excited muchly at this as can use swimming pool also Grin

Keep going everyone it's great to read the updates we are all doing so well Smile

RGPargy · 25/01/2012 08:14

Queenstromba - just as I suspected. I have been rubbish at low carbing lately too and had a fried egg sarnie and a birthday crunchie for my lunch lol Blush

bucketbetty · 25/01/2012 17:46

Happy birthday queen. I did a really strenuous bike ride today and plan to cycle every day this week. I had a cadbury twirl today to cheer myself up. I'm not really hopeful that ill lose any weight though. I think my metabolism has completely stopped due to my thyroid.

bexsybooboo · 26/01/2012 06:56

RGPARGY Fried egg sandwich nice one of my favourite foods to have with a bit of tomato ketchup Grin

Run yesterday did 2.5miles at 12.3mins per mile but didn't enjoy the run Sad am hoping Fridays better Hmm

WI day tomorrow so fingers crossed please everyone Wink

Dillydaydreaming · 26/01/2012 07:27

Ah - heading nicely for another 3lb loss. Grin. Can't believe how easy I am finding this still.

bucketbetty · 26/01/2012 18:20

Stop boasting dilly. I did another 50 minute bike ride. I've still not lost a pound despite my efforts. Maybe I should just give up.

jchocchip · 26/01/2012 20:56

How much do you need to lose betty? If you don't have much to lose it will be harder but every lb will be worth more percentage wise. All that cycling will make you fitter and should lift your mood, try and keep up with it, eat plenty of healthy food and try measuring inches if you don't lose anything after a month. This does work, once you find a balance of food and exercise that is right for you, don't give up, you will be so glad you didn't once you crack it!

movingonwardsorsidewards · 26/01/2012 21:12

Hi everyone, i'm just checking in as i have been logging my food for a few days and when i submitted todays diary it said i will loose 6lbs in 5 weeks if i continue this way.

Toaday I have 112cals left over.

I did shred, so i got 171 extra cals for doing that.

I think its not a great weight loss its really only 1lb per day Sad.

I know any loss is better then no weight loss but i was hoping to loose at least 2lbs per week. Is this unrealistic?

My starting weight was 142 lbs - 10stone 2 lbs.

I have been doing the shred dvd for about 6days now.

bucketbetty · 26/01/2012 21:46

I've got two stone to lose. I've always lost weight really easy but started on thyroxine around six weeks ago and can't lose anything. I'll keep it up and hope something happens.

jchocchip · 26/01/2012 22:06

moving, whether 2lb is realistic depends how tall you are, I would be underweight at 142lb. Shred is known for losing inches and not necessarily lbs if you are not that overweight. Weight isn't that relevant if your measurements shrink. I used to be 3 stone lighter and whilst still well overweight my doctor didn't believe me when I said how heavy I was and made me stand on the scales. At that time I was squatting and bench pressing 45kg one session a week and was quite toned.

movingonwardsorsidewards · 26/01/2012 23:45

i'm not very tall only 5.2 so feel very overweight at the moment. i need to lose 1 stone.

bexsybooboo · 27/01/2012 07:15

Whoop 1.7ibs lighter Grin

Back ontrack a bit more, am trying to lose 1-2ibs per week so that I can maintain the losses and mantain once down to my happy weight I want to be Smile

Out running tonight and should be a quiet weekend so fingers crossed for a positive again next week Smile

Good luck everyone Smile

movingonwardsorsidewards · 27/01/2012 19:46

bexsy - well done Smile

I'm just wondering if you all aim to get the correct amount of protien fat etc each day?

I dont eat alot of meat and I am wondering if I should try a protein shake each day? as i know i eat too many carbs and not enough protein.

BadBuddha · 27/01/2012 21:25

Hi everyone

I lost 1lb at Monday weigh-in, but have been truly useless ever since and haven't even logged anything. In my defence I was away until Thursday, but have been utterly unmotivated yesterday and today. I'm cross that I've probably undone the good work of the previous 2 weeks and will have put on weight come next Monday Angry Oh well, onwards and upwards I suppose.

Well done to those of you continuing to do well - coming back to this thread does motivate me. Tomorrow is a new day, and I WILL make that pot of veggie soup Grin!

jchocchip · 27/01/2012 22:27

It does help to commit to things on here. I'm going to do my run, first thing. There, I've said it so I've got too!

jchocchip · 27/01/2012 22:28

to not too, silly phone!

bucketbetty · 27/01/2012 22:42

I'm sad everyone. I haven't even lost a pound. I've been beyond religious with my calorie counting and exercising and no bloody alcohol for nearly three weeks. I could cry! Unless I starve myself I don't know what else I can do. I'm due on so maybe there's a bit of water retention going on? Oh well, I know I won't give up but I definitely feel like it. Budda I've tried adding you but this phone is not having it, ill give it another go. Well done everyone. I'm not jealous at all.

movingonwardsorsidewards · 28/01/2012 00:04

bucket - sorry to hear you havnt lost any thing Sad how long have you been doing it?

I have only been doing it this week, but i am also listening to paul mckenna, and he advised that you dont weigh yourself for 2weeks. he says if you were not at a stable weight and were still gaining then it can take 2weeks for the new system of eating less to kick in.

I know how you feel, as i have tried to loose weight before and if i dont get results after 3 days i have sometimes quit Sad

bucketbetty · 28/01/2012 08:48

Hi, I'm on week two now or is it 3? It feels like a lifetime! I waited a week to weigh myself. I'm usually really lucky and lose weight quickly. I think my meds for my thyroid are stopping weight loss. I've been on thyroxine a couple of months. I m even thinking about coming off it. I'm also due on and wonder if I have some water retention.
