Bucketbetty, is there a chance your body just has a delayed reaction to the reduction in calories? You have my full sympathy, I've done a week now (and upped the exercise) and had no change in the scale. I think my body is about 2 weeks behind my calorie consumption - which is really dangerous as when I fall off the wagon I don't start putting on weight immediately...by the time the weight creeps up I'm already back into bad habits...

I'm going to make a "pledge" here, just so I am accountable somewhere! From tomorrow I will no longer eat anything that cannot be logged accurately in mfp ie scraps of food from the kids plates - a corner of toast, a couple of spoonfuls of left dinner or full fat yoghurt...I am ashamedly a giant hoover as I hate throwing food out. I also need to drink more water and less diet coke but will work on that the following week!

I hope everyone has a happy & healthy weekend!

jchocchip · 20/01/2012 22:45

The wii always tells me that my weight can vary 2lb depending on the time of day... Keep going and you will see results!

jchocchip · 22/01/2012 17:50

Aargh. Too many wine gums! Will have to go on the wii soon...

bucketbetty · 22/01/2012 20:39

I've done really well this weekend and pretty much the whole week. I'll be hugely disappointed if I've still not lost any weight. I feel thinner because I'm hungry a lot if the time. I'm on antibiotics too so haven't been able to drink. Surely I will have at least list a couple of pounds. I'll do a weigh in tomorrow. Fingers crossed for me.

movingonwardsorsidewards · 22/01/2012 21:06

Hiya, just wondering if anyone knows if you are allowed any extra calories for the day if you do the shred dvd?

jchocchip · 22/01/2012 21:40

Yes, I just log it as 20 mins circuit training. Its an approximation but I don't have a heart rate monitor. I try not to eat all my exercise calories but leave a few uneaten.

movingonwardsorsidewards · 22/01/2012 21:47

Ok great, so how many calories extra ate you allowed?

movingonwardsorsidewards · 22/01/2012 21:54

I found a website online that I have to input my weight, and it said 20mins circuit is 182 calories burnt. Does that sound about right?

So that means that you can have 182 extra calories if needed, but of course it would be better if you didn't use them.

I have tried fitness pal before and struggled to only eat 1200 cals per day. I have also done closer online before and lost lots of weight eating only 1300 cals per day, maybe I just had much more will power before.

jchocchip · 22/01/2012 22:47

Log your exercise in mfp, it will credit the extra. I had about 800 credited today - swimming and the shred and ate most of them. No way could I stick to my base calories long term so I've been doing swimming or c25k or shred every day. Feel much fitter and feel in control.

movingonwardsorsidewards · 22/01/2012 22:56

Really? Wow 800 extra is a lot, I tried to log my exercise before and it didnt seem to work. How long have you been doing it? And have you lost much weight?

jchocchip · 22/01/2012 23:08

Started properly mid December and lost 10lb so far although there was Christmas and a holiday in there so I couldn't swim every week. I have got a lot to lose and the number of calories it thinks you burn is based on your weight.

bexsybooboo · 23/01/2012 07:33

Benchmarking page Smile

movingonwardsorsidewards · 23/01/2012 08:35

10lbs, that's great, well done. I have now finally worked out how to log exercise and I think I get 171 calories for doing shred.

LingDiLong · 23/01/2012 09:27

So is anyone weighing in today? I have and sadly have lost nothing Sad.

I did lose 5lb last week though so had an inkling that I might not lose any this time - it seems to go in bursts with me. I might try and kick start things by cutting back a bit more on the carbs though...would love to lose another 5 or 6lb in the next 2 weeks.

mrswoodentop · 23/01/2012 15:49

Weighing later tonight but not optimistic ,this week has been up and down and I don't feel as if I have lost any

bucketbetty · 23/01/2012 19:59

Stuck with calorie counting religiously. Put on 3 pounds since I started with mfp last week. Wtf. I'm seriously dismayed.

worley · 23/01/2012 20:10

hello can I join? I'm worleyone on mfp.
I lost three stone last year doing mfp and the 30 day shred religiously everyday, until the school holidays and we had guests come to stay but once they left I never got back into it. I started again last week as I've put about 2kg (I weigh myself in the scales at work - in hospital - so their very accurate :(. ) on since December and would love to now get rid of the last two stone. I dont actually think I'll budge much more past a stone but would love to be just under 10stone again :-)

Wifezilla · 23/01/2012 21:57

Bucketbetty, sorry, no advice other than stick with it. It's so demotivating isn't it, but give it another week or so and see what happens.

I forgot to say earlier, I'm sloth45 on mfp if anyone wants to "friend"!

tardisjumper · 23/01/2012 22:00

I had a stay the same this week. However, I put on a dress I bought just after xmas and people said I looked noticably slimmer in it than I did just a few weeks ago.

I'm eating loads of fibre as I was v constipated last week (TMI) and I don't think this helped.

bucketbetty · 23/01/2012 22:02

I have been very very consitpated too tardis, maybe that's why I haven't lost anything. I guess I could be retaining water too. I'm bucketbetty for those who want to add me. sloth45, I''ll give adding you a go.

bucketbetty · 23/01/2012 22:06

I'm adding, not sure if I've done it right. You'll be my first friend wifezilla. Smile

bucketbetty · 23/01/2012 22:09

No luck, bloomin phone has decided it's not connecting. I'll keep trying.

mrswoodentop · 23/01/2012 22:12

Well it wasn't quite as bad as I thought ,I lost 1/2 pound ,at least it's in the right direction.

Wifezilla · 23/01/2012 22:20

I've requested you bucketbetty :)

Well done mrswoodentop, any loss is a good loss!

LingDiLong · 24/01/2012 11:08

Hi Worley! Well done on losing 3 stone, that's brilliant. Good luck losing that last stone or 2.
