And need support

This was recommended by TheHumanCatapult and is www.foodfocus.co.uk. you start by registering your weight etc and tell it how much you want to lose. It then tells you when that will be achieved, which for me was some time in 2013 Shock. You then use it day by day to record all the food eaten, and all the exercise you have done. It is working for me so far (only day 5) because:

-Iget instant results (it tells you day by day how much it calculates you have lost, you won't see it on the scales)
-I see how much I am actually eating
-I'm in control. I can see the impact of whatever I am going to eat before I actually eat it which does help the willpower somewhat!
-It's FREE

Well done - that sounds v promising for the smaller size dress

My weight loss is soooo slow 0.5lb again this week.

I'm trying not to be dispirited - I did feel pleased when two people asked me if I had lost weight this week

KaraStarbuckThrace · 15/09/2011 21:40

Hello all, I have been sticking to the plan just bveen dead busy!
Plus scales went on the blink, but we have sorted them now, put in a fresh battery and now found a new position (think we have a wonky floor board where we had them as the readings were all over the place).
However all best are off this weekend as we are down at my mums and she is treating us to curry on Saturday night!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 15/09/2011 21:43

Oh I now fit into my 3/4 length linen trousers, that I couldn't even get any where near to doing up a month ago Grin

MABS · 16/09/2011 14:47

well done Kara! i still lost no weight but feel much more toned :)

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2011 22:19

THat's brilliant Kara.
TG, sorry you've found it slowing down, but agree that at least you did't put any on, and I fid, even if I do put weight on, I'm feeling more in control now...maybe it's just that this is the first diet I've ever done for more than a day or two.

Well, I;ve had good days and bad days, sure I ahve put a load on, but then managed to lose a bit too. I am a pound over where I was at the end of August (i.e. when I was doing really well) but more importantly I had a bad few weeks and started to worry I had lost the urge :o But then I had a good week last week, weekend off (I promised myself) and back to it tomorrow. Aim is tto lose 5lb by the weekend, and then I will be 2 st lighter than when I started, in July Shock. Hope I can do it.

right, next goal after that is 6lb by the end of September, which takes me down to another stone, but also means I will no longer be "obsese", only "overweight"
and if I could grow 3 inches as well, that would be helpful

Kara, just noticed about your DH applying for a new job, when's that all happening?

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 19/09/2011 08:54

Hey everyone, survived the weekend!
Curry was nice but one thing is clear I cannot eat as much as I used to - clear evidence that this diet is working for me on a long term basis as it won't be quite as easy to fall off the wagon as I thought!
SPB - DH is now not going for the job, he researched the company and realised that it would not be a wise move. He is still keeping an eye on the jobs market but he has decided we need to have another crack at moving to Sheffield. Not sure how though :(

StealthPolarBear · 19/09/2011 20:57

:( Oh no, hope you manage to sort something out and stay up here
Right, craving something sweet so better get a hot chocolate on

Hope everyone is doing well.
I have lost a stone in total Grin - I have decided to aim for another stone by Christmas.

StealthPolarBear · 25/09/2011 23:04

Well done TG that';s fantastic! I guess the silence indicates we are all scoffing chocolate, or is that just me? :o

DH bought me a bar of chocloate to celebrate my weight loss.
He also paid for my lovely new boots so I can forgive him

KaraStarbuckThrace · 27/09/2011 20:49

Hi everyone have been a bit off the rails have been ill last week, culminating with a 2 day migraine that only went away yesterday evening. Plus it was my anniversary to day and so we went out for lunch. But both DH and I ate less than we would have normally and we skipped dessert - instead we didn't have any tea and got some cheesecake slices as a treat from M&S to eat this evening.
Am food logging again tomorrow.

StealthPolarBear · 27/09/2011 22:06

Oh Kara sorry to hear you have been so ill.
I have been definitely off the rails but more careful than I used to be and don't think I am putting the weight back on. I can definteiyl feel I ahve lost weight in my face and earlier today I felt a lump near the top of my leg - then realised it's called a thighbone :o
Will be food logging as soon as I feel less stressed. TBH I want to lose loads more but I feel so good that I know there is a method that works and I can stick to - half the battle won.

OP posts:
TarquinGyrfalcon · 27/09/2011 23:19

Happy Anniversary Kara - I hope you enjoyed your cheesecake (I love the vanilla one - in my fat life I would buy a whole one and DH and I would eat half each after a meal Blush)

SPB - congratulations on finding your thighbone.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 28/09/2011 07:50

Tarquin, yep exactly what DH and I would have done! Or gone for something really chocolately. I saw this delicious looking toffee apple pudding, I nealy died when I saw was 1500 calories for a quarter Shock The cheesecake slices were around 300calories each, so something we could have and still remain within our calorie goal.
Stealth, sorry you have been stressed. I understand what you mean about not going completely off the rails, even on the days i am not logging, i still find i don't eat as much as i would have done i the old days.
Got 3 weeks to go til we go to Spain, am less than 1lb away from my Spain goal :)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 08/10/2011 07:29

How are you all doing? Hope you are well!!

Well for the first time have had to record a weight gain of 2lb :(
However, this is probably down to our new scales we bought yesterday.
Our old ones were getting increasingly erratic again this week, DH had been complaining of readings varying upto 1/2 stone! Plus there is a suspicious looking rattling noise coming from it!
Anyway we have bought some new scales (different to the last ones that we bought that wouldn't switch on unless you jumped up and down on it Hmm) and these work very fine. But clearly there is a difference in manufacturing tolerances as both DH and I have gained 2lb this week.
Now we may have lost more but I am going to reset my starting weight to 2lb heavier, so that at least my total weight loss remains the same as it was when I last weighed.
Need to be good this week, except I have a MN meetup tomorrow and one on Friday!!! Speaking of which, Stealth any chance of you making the Friday one? 10/10.30am at the Slug and Lettuce?

TarquinGyrfalcon · 08/10/2011 14:47

If you have both gained 2lb it must be the scales Grin

I'm continuing to lose but at an excruciatingly slow pace (about .5 lb per week)
However, today I realised that I could wear a top that I was given last Christmas - last December I couldn't do it up over my stomach and boobs Blush today it did up easily.

I probably haven't lost weight this week as DH and I went out for a cooked breakfast to celebrate Wales winning the rugby today and earlier in the week I had fish and chips.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 05/11/2011 20:27

Hey where is everyone :)

Went to Spain, it was fab, ate lots of norty treats and put 2.5lbs on. However have lost that and a bit more, so have dropped below my next target, woohoo!
24lbs off now!
