And need support

This was recommended by TheHumanCatapult and is www.foodfocus.co.uk. you start by registering your weight etc and tell it how much you want to lose. It then tells you when that will be achieved, which for me was some time in 2013 Shock. You then use it day by day to record all the food eaten, and all the exercise you have done. It is working for me so far (only day 5) because:

-Iget instant results (it tells you day by day how much it calculates you have lost, you won't see it on the scales)
-I see how much I am actually eating
-I'm in control. I can see the impact of whatever I am going to eat before I actually eat it which does help the willpower somewhat!
-It's FREE

thanks SPB, your reply much appreciated. It has really thrown me :(
I am not really light, am 5ft 7 and 10stone 7 which is a stone heaver than i was this time last year, really want to get back to that as felt happy there. Really want to us FF but now i am confused!

StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2011 12:23

that really doesn't sounds right - you are a lot lighter than me but don't most women need to eat 1500-2000 cals to maintain weight? It's not like you're 4ft2, which is the sort of thing I meant.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2011 12:25

As I said I am 5ft8, a lot heavier, but am on 1500 to lose 2lb a week. Am mostly sticking to it (with some days much less and some days a bit more) and am losing over 2lb a week - but I have NEVER eated under 700 cals a day. Well, maybe by lunchtime :o

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2011 12:25

eated? eaten

I agree it is easier to lose 10lb if that is only a fraction of what you need to lose. I need to lose 4stone to get myself into my acceptable BMI range but am currently aiming a stone above that.
I was right about losing weight to quickly - I've put 4lb back on :( So think body panicked and went into starvation mode :(
Am going to continue with current calories though and see how I get on, although yesterday was over 200 under as i took myself off to bed with a migraine last night.

StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2011 13:11

oh no, are you better now?

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 14/08/2011 13:34

Yeah I am now.. but worried that perhaps my period may be coming back! DD is only 9 weeks, FFS has been exclusively bfed from birth and not used a dummy!
Give me a frakking break!!
I had a very slight bleed about 4 days ago but nothing since. Don't want my periods to come back yet!

MABS · 14/08/2011 16:00

poor you Kara.

Just went in a tried it again with different email, got same result exactly :(

StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2011 16:23

MABS I think it is telling you you are slim enough :)
I suppose the thing to do would be maybe eat 1100 cals and make up the difference in exercise? Easy for me to say I know.
Kara, hope that isn't the case.

OP posts:
MABS · 14/08/2011 16:30

think you may be right spb

FoundWanting · 14/08/2011 20:56

Kara the 4lbs may be a temporary thing. I notice that I get really bloated when a migraine is brewing and then it subsides again a couple of days later.

Here's hoping it is just 'water weight'. Smile

I'm struggling to keep it down to the low 1200s, but I suppose it is just getting used to which foods to avoid. Kidney beans, for example, seem extremely high in calories.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 15/08/2011 20:23

Thanks for the reassurance. 1lb of it has disappeared already!

Have been really good last few days, don't want to fall off the wagon now!
Have walked quite a bit, some of it with DD in the sling so have had some exercise today. Hopefully more tomorrow!

FoundWanting · 15/08/2011 20:29

124 calories for 2 custard creams? WTF!

Any top tips for eating when out and about? Taking DCs to Lincoln Castle tomorrow, so hopefully will do a fair bit of walking, but really don't want to take a packed lunch because I'll have to carry it.

StealthPolarBear · 15/08/2011 22:57

Hi everyone
I've hit a stone marker (not saying which one :o). Really need to re-motivate myself, not doing too badly but I just want to collapse in a sea of dairy milk at the moment.
I made a cake yesterday (we had eggs that needed to be used Blush). I have just had the skinniest slice you will hvae ever seen and it was 180cals. No icing or anything. Still I suppose it was cake.

TarquinGyrfalcon · 15/08/2011 23:04

Well done SPB - you must be really pleased. I need to lose another 4lb to hit a stone marker.

I'm planning to give blood tomorrow - usually I treat myself to cake and chocolate afterwards and I wonder why I am overweight perhaps I'll just have a packet of malteasers

StealthPolarBear · 15/08/2011 23:06

Just 5 more stone to go :o

Well surely the cake and chocolate is just replacing the blood you lost?

OP posts:
MABS · 16/08/2011 08:12

well done spb, you are doing so well. do you have any short term event/goal coming up to think of for motivation? I did well yesterday and went for run, will run again today if i can.

Arent you actually meant to have some sugar afeter giving blood? be careful about not doing it.

WhyIsTheRumAlwaysGone · 16/08/2011 12:12

Well done spb, hope everyone is doing ok.

I've just received a phone call to say there is a family wedding 7 weeks tomorrow so I now have my new short term goal. I figured I should be able to shift at least half a stone by then.

MABS · 16/08/2011 14:53

i tryin to do same for a weekend away 21 Sept WhyistheRum, good luck to you.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 16/08/2011 15:23

Well done SPB!

Still sticking to the plan...

FoundWanting · 17/08/2011 09:35

Well, not a very good day yesterday but lots and lots of walking. I had never been to Lincoln before - what a lovely city - but how steep his the hill up to the castle? I suppose the clue is in the name 'Steep Hill'. Grin My legs feel it this morning.

For SPB, and anyone else feeling their motivation flagging, I found it helpful when doing WW to have their 5% targets to aim for. So, if you were 16 stone when you started, you need to lose 11lbs to have lost 5% of your body weight. I managed to lose a quarter of the old me in little steps!

MABS · 18/08/2011 08:12

Sadly i ate a curry and had loads of wine last night :( very bad indeed

StealthPolarBear · 18/08/2011 12:33

did you record it all? Today is another day!

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/08/2011 12:50

Good idea, FoundWanting.

DH and I are having a curry Saturday night.
Think I might have Sat morning as my official weigh day from now on...

MABS · 18/08/2011 17:05

did record it all :( not pretty..
