And need support

This was recommended by TheHumanCatapult and is www.foodfocus.co.uk. you start by registering your weight etc and tell it how much you want to lose. It then tells you when that will be achieved, which for me was some time in 2013 Shock. You then use it day by day to record all the food eaten, and all the exercise you have done. It is working for me so far (only day 5) because:

-Iget instant results (it tells you day by day how much it calculates you have lost, you won't see it on the scales)
-I see how much I am actually eating
-I'm in control. I can see the impact of whatever I am going to eat before I actually eat it which does help the willpower somewhat!
-It's FREE

OK another new one
When I moaned to DH about the diet going badly atm he said as far as he was concerned it was still going and he thought I was looking thinner every day. I'm sure it was motivational crap, but I should stick to it!

Awww bless your DH, SPB!!

I think I am beginning to see a difference in me although I still have a lot of clothes I don't fit in.

FoundWanting · 06/09/2011 08:59

SPB I've just had a quick scan of the previous posts. Have you really lost a stone and a half since you started? That is 3lbs a week! Amazing. That is a small child. Grin

Yesterday was good for me. I even managed to resist the Toblerone fondue and just had some strawberries. (Thanks for that, DS1. Way to support your mum, not.) Did loads of cleaning too (83 calories for 30 mins Grin). DCs back to school tomorrow so I'll be adding 4 miles of walking to my day. I will not be stopping at the bakery for a Cinnamon Swirl on my way home.

StealthPolarBear · 06/09/2011 09:02

Yes, and that was between 5th (??) July and 23rd August! I am still the same weight as I was then, but as I said before diet starts again properly today!

You might find that that is how you lose - really quickly for several weeks, and then stall for a bit. My DSis did when we did Weightwatchers together. Although she got really fed up those weeks that she didn't lose, when we averaged it out it was something like 2.5lbs a week. And she lost 4.5 stone altogether.

StealthPolarBear · 06/09/2011 11:07

no my stalling was down to stuffing my face and NOT registering stuff :(
Wish I had stuck with it. Still, going to get back on track as of today. Have still eaten lots, but all recorded, and calories are being monitored. TBH it's good - I am getting proof that when I do it it works, when I don't, I don't lose weight. Incentive to stick to it.

well done SPB, you have been so good, you will be back on track v quickly.
I did hour pt earlier and then 45 min spin class, i bloody hurt! not losing weight at all, but think maybe toning a bit.

PinkCustard · 06/09/2011 17:41

Hello,

I'm still sticking to my calorie allowance - I could probably be eating slightly healthier but I do like to save some cals for treat things, like a bit of choc in the eve, but I'll work on that once I've gotten used to eating less overall. Also need to get stuck into some exercise too...will make a start tomorrow when DS is out at pre-school in the afternoon.

Keep going everyone Smile

TarquinGyrfalcon · 06/09/2011 18:27

Well done SPB - a stone and a half is fantastic.
If I can loose 2lb this week it takes me down to a different stone (if that makes sense)

TarquinGyrfalcon · 06/09/2011 18:31

lose lose lose - not loose Blush

PinkCustard · 07/09/2011 09:24

Good luck getting into that new stone Tarquin I need to lose 3lbs to reach my next stone down so might take me 2-3 weeks I think.

I went 200cals over last night after an unplanned glass of wine and some crisps - was still under calories burnt though so not too drastic. But yesterday I found myself returning to my old habits of eating quite small meals in order to save up calories for unhealthy treats, which isn't the way to go as I started out on this to eat more healthily and not get obsessed with calorie counting every morsel. So I've started afresh this morning and will be aiming to eat healthily - had scrambled eggs and a slice of oaty bread for b.fast with a lovely glass of fresh juice. Much more calorific than my usual sultana bran and a glass of water, but better for me and hopefully more filling. Have got a homemade mushroom soup for lunch Mmmmmm.

Must do some exercise today!!

PinkCustard · 07/09/2011 11:24

Also - is fast regular walking enough for exercise or do I really have to do something more strenuous?! I like walking and manage to stick with it, whereas things like 30 Day Shred become a real chore and I start making excuses not to do it. I used to go to Body Combat classes regularly and really enjoyed them, but classes are so expensive and I can't afford a membership at the moment. Any suggestions for fun exercise gratefully received.

WhyIsTheRumAlwaysGone · 07/09/2011 11:28

Well done SPB! Keep it up.

I've been to Boots to get weighed this morning as usual and the scales are out of order AGAIN! Wish DP would let me have scales in the house, but I understand his reasoning. Was hoping for a 2lb loss to take me to a total of 1 stone. Might have to go over to mums later and hop on hers.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/09/2011 17:09

Hmm have been struggling again, with snacking. I am trying to ensure I do log everything though.
Mainly I need to keep busy.

SPB - btw DH is going to be applying a new job, yippee!

MABS · 07/09/2011 18:45

well done to you all

WhyIsTheRumAlwaysGone · 08/09/2011 18:57

Oh dear. I have been very naughty and not counted what I have eaten and now I have put weight back on.

However, I am really trying to get myself together today and after tea will still have 300ish calories left so I figured that's a good start to the week.

Currently trying to set zumba up on the wii but it doesn't seem to want to work. Not sure if it is just because it has been so long since I have been on it that I have forgotten how to do little things like system updates.

MABS · 08/09/2011 19:53

good day WhyisRum, enjoy zumba :)

WhyIsTheRumAlwaysGone · 08/09/2011 20:08

I thought my instructor knew how to push us, the Wii game is harder and I only had it on easy Blush maybe as I get to know the routines I will find it easier [hopeful]

KaraStarbuckThrace · 08/09/2011 20:54

Having a bit of a better day today.
I think I was struggling as I felt so hungry and I think it might be down to not logging extra activities and also DD has had another growth spurt(she is 12 weeks) so has been feeding more.
So I must have needed the extra cals!

WhyIsTheRumAlwaysGone · 11/09/2011 21:11

So we went bridesmaid dress shopping today. It Was Terrible! I've come home with two dresses the same but in different sizes. One that can be taken in and one to try to slim myself in to. The smaller one does fasten tho so I guess that's a start. Just thought I would update.

How are we all? I think I am in need of Wine after 6 hours shopping.

TarquinGyrfalcon · 11/09/2011 21:40

At least you've survived the shopping!

My weight loss has slowed down (0.5lb this week). I was feeling quite despondant until DH pointed out that I would have felt far worse if I had put on weight.

I'm sticking to my calories so I think I need to up my exercise. I walk the dog every day but the trouble is I hate any other type of exercising - I especially hate classes and gyms. I've got the 30 Day Shred DVD but I find it does my knackered knee in.

I may have to dig out my Pilates DVD.

Hope everyone else is losing lots of weight

MABS · 11/09/2011 22:03

good to hear from you, i still doing the exercising, but no weight loss, just toning x

WhyIsTheRumAlwaysGone · 12/09/2011 11:08

Done 30mins on Wii Fit this morning and it says I've lost 3lbs...shall save excitement for Wednesday when I get weighed properly tho. Fingers crossed.

Am wondering if I should go on something like slimfast for the next 3 weeks just until the wedding to see if it will give me an extra boost. What do you all think?

MABS · 12/09/2011 21:26

brilliant!

WhyIsTheRumAlwaysGone · 14/09/2011 21:00

Lost 6lbs this week but put 2 on last week so lost 4 really. I'm happy with that.

Smaller dress is starting to look good.

Did write a longer post earlier and only just realised that it didn't post and cant remember what I write to re-write it.
