New thread for us WW devotees.

Blondes is head honcho but is busy showing off her tan.

Me - I am the resident statistician - weekly updates for thread losses.

So jump on in and post away - we are having a summer challenge to keep us on track.

Well, I really haven't got time to read the whole thread, but I've read the last week's worth of posts and am inspired by benbon, littlefish and rushingrachel to get on and do it. Androbbob, do you have some sort of record of the progress since January? That's when I originally joined, making all the right noises, but then I went off and did my own thing, and got no fatter but no slimmer either Hmm

I'm not going to meetings but have the PP books and calculator here. I'll either keep a written record of progress or use an app if I can find one. I'll be weighing in about 7pm on Fridays - I have a bit of an addiction to standing on the scales, to the point that my 18mth DD got on them herself last week Blush, so there are going to be kept in a cupboard until WI time each week.

I'll weigh in properly this evening but am somewhere around 10st 10lbs and 5'4", and am aiming for 9st, perhaps by early December. My ultimate motivator though is TTC! I'm on 29pp. Will no doubt be using some of the weeklies but am also quite keen on exercise. When I change gyms in a month's time I'll be adding a Bodypump class to my usual spinning/gym/running combo.

Right, got a load of ironing to do, but this afternoon I'll be off for a walk with DD. This morning we had a hilly bike ride and I might go to the gym or do a quick run this evening.

androbbob · 02/09/2011 21:23

tarty - I did keep a record but things kind of lapsed a few months ago with one thing and another. Just did a quick check and January to Easter was 203lbs, Easter to Summer was 148lbs and the Summer challenge where it kind of halted was 69lbs. Since then though the following at at goal Lucky2010, Vnmum, Big Tilly, Blondes, NoWay and Froot and more recently benbon. I am sure there is someone I have missed out - hopefully they will be along and remind me soon Grin

I will re-start the tracker for 'group losses' from next Monday when normal service will resume!

Ok day today - will WI on Monday and see if I have lost a couple of pounds! Went to the gymn today for the first time in 2.5 weeks - was hard! Booked a class for mon and tues morning - so will be deadbeat by Wed!

Just sticking my head in to say well done to everyone, a good week. A special well done to Littlefish for turning things around. Sorry to say I still haven't and am thinking of doing SW for a week or two for a bit of a change and then get back to WW and tracking once DC's settled at school and have DS's birthday out of the way.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 03/09/2011 01:12

Change of plan. I have remembered the Simply Filling plan and am going to try this instead if I can just work out how to alter the tracker.

TartyMcFarty · 03/09/2011 07:18

Thanks for the update androbbob. Wynken, what's the Simply Filling plan?

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 03/09/2011 10:09

If I have understood it properly you have 3 meals a day made up of foods that are green on the WW database, you don't have to track or weigh. Then you have 49 points a week for other bits. I found a list under 'simply filling food list' plus there are some things on the database not on the list eg the WW Garlic and Coriander Naan.

This morning I have had a couple of eggs, bacon and mushrooms. Am going to have some leftover spagbol with a jacket spud for lunch. If I get round to making it I'll make curry for tea, if not it will be takeaway from weekly points. I'm hoping only tracking the weeklies might be a good compromise for a bit until I get more organised again.

herdingcats · 03/09/2011 10:17

androbbob- I got to goal too Grin. I know I'm not memorable though ,so its ok Wink
Wynken- that sounds complex to me ,but then again maybe I'm just being thick Smile Good luck with it.
I am really going for it over the next 2 weeks ,then I will just have to wing it for a while. I want to have a good buffer zone for that period.

crumbletastic · 03/09/2011 13:17

Wow, we've had some great losses this week. Congrats all, especially benbon and herding cats for reaching goal.

Thanks for the advice about how many weeks are losing water vajazzler I lost 1lb at my 4th weigh in today so thats made me happier as that feels like a much healthier amount to lose whilst breastfeeding.

androbbob · 03/09/2011 13:19

Sorry herdings how could I miss you out Blush I must have missed your getting there. makes a note to self. Just downloaded a WW android app so going to play with that now!

OP posts:
androbbob · 03/09/2011 13:26

y herdings just scrolled back and seen my post congratulating you on getting to goal! I am such a dope!

OP posts:
TartyMcFarty · 03/09/2011 14:08

Let me know how you find that app please!

androbbob · 03/09/2011 20:11

its a free app called WWdiary. It is free and seems ok, but havent calculated points yet. Using it as an online diary mainly but you can add in exercise points.

clarabella18 · 03/09/2011 22:26

Hi all. Just started WW PP this week. Have-been eating more than I normally would ad feel constantly hungry. Even at 5:30 this morning when ds2 woke for his bottle, had to grab a glass of water and a handful of grapes.
Is this normal, am I feeling this way because I know I'm restricted?
Have bee having 3 meals a day and snacks, would normally only have 2. DP thinks it could be the extra exercise I'm doing as I'm out and about walking slot more too.
Any ideas from some of you more experienced ladies?

herdingcats · 04/09/2011 10:55

androbbob- I'll let you off , only this once you understand Wink
I can't talk I lose ttrack of these threads all the time Grin Really don't know how you keep all the running totals going.
I think my strictness fell at the 1st hurdle as we went to an outdoor concert yesterday and the food choice was hog roast ,fish and chips, burgers, donuts or ice cream. Hmm Not good, but all I had in 6 hrs there was fish and half a portion of chips. Note to self plan ahead next time

DharmaLovesDraco · 04/09/2011 12:35

Well done everyone :) I have had my first weigh in and lost 3lb so very happy.

TartyMcFarty · 04/09/2011 14:32

Well done Dharma, that's good going!

We had a treat night last night, and I used 25 of my weeklies, but I felt that keeping count instead of thinking 'to hell with it' kept me under control. I even decided against an extra glass of wine because I didn't fancy it as much as I wanted to save the PPs, which is unheard of for me!

We're going to a family BBQ later, so no doubt I'll be using more weeklies, though I still have 13 dailies, then it's a staff lunch tomorrow, which I have very little control over. I'll be interested to see if I lose any weight having used up all of my weeklies. I'm exercising so that should help to keep things in check.

Willabywallaby · 04/09/2011 16:45

Me Me, I made goal too! Grin

On holiday at the moment so not hopefully for Wednesday weigh in, think I may even be 5lb over goal...

Well done Benbon and Littlefish with your landmark losses, and as on phone sorry for those I've missed. Keep going!

droves · 05/09/2011 13:57

9 stone 8 1/2 today ! Grin .

Cant quite believe it as ive been over last week ...had spagetti carbonara and chocolate cake on friday and loads of treats over the weekend.

I just dont understand why ive still lost weight ? .

Have completly stopped fizzy juice ...if need fizzy stuff im having mineral water with a slice of lemon or lime ... nice and refreshing and i dont have the awful sugar highs and headaches that come after..

dinner last night was baked potatoe and cottage cheese with chives ....omg its amazing ...love cottage cheese

breakfast today was green tea , weightwatchers danish white , as toast with tiny bit of peanut butter , ...yum.

just had , cottage cheese and tuna sandwich , and fruit salad , more green tea.

Snacks so far ...apple , orange , nectarine, carrot sticks .

For dinner im going to do the toad in the hole thats on the site , but with veggi sausage because i like them better ! ...mabey some cauli mash cause its yummy .

All i do now is EAT ! ....Loads more than i did before WW ...Grin .

Getting the hang of the points system now .

Best thing is went down to best friends house last night ...first thing she said " omg , youve lost loads of weight ! " , hadnt seen her for 2 weeks. Grin

Went up to bro in laws on saturday ....he said i looked thinner ...his fiance said i look like ive lost weight . Grin

WAIT FOR IT .....Went jeans shopping on sunday.... can get into an 8 , but its tight ...bought skinny 10 and need a belt to make the waistband not gap on back iykwim. (bear in mind im 5 foot 1 1/2, so not as thin as it sounds).

Im just delighted.

droves · 05/09/2011 14:08

Clarabella , i was like that too in the first week ..just kept on munching , but wrong things so i kept going over points
Still eat loads , but its mostly 0 pp things like fruit and veggies .

Remember to drink loads of water ! Sometimes i feel like munching and i have a drink of water and wait 5 mins to see if im really hungry or not.

Most times im not ...its like im thirsty but because im in the habbit of eating the hungry/thirsty signal to my brain gets confused.

clarabella18 · 05/09/2011 19:55

Thanks droves. Have been much better the last couple of days. Have eaten loads today and still have 8 PP left. Am being a bit smarter with my choices and as you say am eating more fruit and veg, also made a no points soup which I think has helped too.
Weigh in in Wednesday so fingers crossed!

wizzler · 05/09/2011 20:10

Androbob.. you forgot me too.

Have only just popped in, seem to have no time at all these days. DD started school today so have spent most of it going to school ( DS and DD)coming back alone, going back to school to bring DD home and then going back with DD to bring DS home.Surely all that must be worth some activity points!

Anyway, welcome Clara and other newbies, and Dharma and all the other losers

androbbob · 05/09/2011 20:39

Gosh I am so rubbish! Blush

So the goal gold members are: Lucky2010, Vnmum, Big Tilly, Blondes, NoWay, Froot, benbon, herdingcats and wizzler phew really hope that is all!

I am reporting a 2lb* loss this week which is good! Would have liked a little more, but its a good start!

Hi,

Recently joined WW online.

Need some handholding/moral support.....

So far failing miserably at inputting the daily meals into the points system online. Obviously means I over-eat (eat biscuits...).

Have two DC and prior to DC, was always slim but pregnancy has not been kind either time and I am seriously fat - currently just under 3 st to lose.

DD is 2 and DS is 8 weeks. So I am aware its early days and have the advantage of BFing (not that it helped at all last time). But I am pretty busy with the two of them and mostly too knackered to remember to fill in the points thing at the end of the day besides when I do the damage in terms of biscuit eating has already been done.

So I am wondering whether any one here has some advice (other than put the biscuits down).

I am too embarrassed to talk to DH or anyone in RL about it. Its bad enough being fat but just too much admitting that you can't even get your head around WW.

Littlefish · 05/09/2011 21:39

Welcome skandi. Please don't be too hard on yourself. WW can be a bit tricky at the beginning, but it really is worth trying to write everything down. I've been following the programme for nearly a year, and still write most things down. If I don't, I end up going over my points, because I simply forget what I've eaten Blush. If possible, fill the tracker in as you go along. During the holidays, I just kept logged in to the WW website and filled it in after every meal or snack.

I started off with 8 stone to lose, and have lost 4 stone so far. Grin

Now, you know I'm going to have to say this.... STAY AWAY FROM THE BISCUITS.

Buy a fresh pineapple, peel and chop it and put all the chunks into a plastic box in the fridge. That way, whenever you feel like something sweet, you've got something delicious readily at hand. I also make sure that I always have a jar of pickled onions in the fridge as I sometimes crave something really strong tasting. (It doesn't make me the most attractive person to be around, but it really helps me!) Smile

rushingrachel · 06/09/2011 09:40

Hello all. I had first weigh in last week, lost 5lb. Haven't found it too hard and definitely the jacket I put on this morning is looser than it was before I started.

I have second weigh in this lunchtime. Think I've done ok this week but the truth will be on the scales.

Have to say there are some phenomenally inspiring stories of big losses here which I've really found helpful, along with all your tips for keeping on the straight and narrow.

Biggest thing that struck me in first 2 weeks is that when I take out snacks and am very careful about portions I realise how much too much I normally eat (esp pasta and cheese) and how many points I must take in in snacks that I barely notice. I am an obsessive snacker. Biscuits, love them. Crisps, love them. If biscuits are open in the kitchen I'll just eat one every time I go by ... Secondly in addition to snacks I plainly just love food ... reading about it, buying it, cooking it, eating it. I don't have deep seated psychological sadnesses that food is fulfilling like many of the people I read about connected with weight loss ... I love having a houseful of people and cooking well for them and keeping the drink flowing. And I don't have the metabolism or the self control to deal with the results!! In common with most people who need to lose weight, there is no mystery to me about why I have gained weight ... I've just needed to get my mind in the right place to do something about it.

So to address the snacking have bought cherries and plums and put them in the kitchen to replace the biscuits. This really helps. I have found WW chocolate wafers are really nice once a day as my biscuit treat. My DS who is 3 loves them so much he starts hopping around for "some of mummy's choccie bick" as soon as he sees them and he hardly needs to lose weight.

I would say the hardest thing is that my DH is mega skinny and can eat like a horse. Granted he doesn't snack, but he ate the biggest pile of fried potatoes last night ... must have been about a week's points in. And still as sprightly and skinny as ever. Grrrrrrrrrr. He's trying to be supportive and say how well I'm doing but he can't empathise.
