Hi, can I join you guys as I have signed up for WW today? I've known for some time that I've been putting on weight if I'm honest but I suppose I have been guilty of a bit of a "perhaps if I ignore it then it'll go away attitude! Well yesterday in Boots I saw a height and weight measuring machine and as I happened to have 50p in my pocket I decided to use it. I was horrified! 5 foot 6.5 tall and I weigh 12 stone 10lbs! At worst I was expecting around 11 stone so this has really spurred me into doing something. I have my first WW meeting on Thursday and I am terrified at the idea of hauling my enormous flabby belly onto their scales. I am also scared that I am going to be constantly hungry and that my motivation might give out on me and I am just going to be this size forever or keep getting bigger abs bigger.

Sorry for the garbled first post. I am just so shocked and disgusted with myself at the moment :-(

MrsWajs · 15/08/2011 19:53

Bleugh weigh in tomorrow and don't feel very light!!! Have stuck to plan religiously but am setting myself up for a disappointment, is it possible I might lose/stay the same week about even though I'm sticking to the plan?!

bishboschone · 16/08/2011 11:46

I stayed the same the second week and i did it RELIGIOUSLY.( not much point otherwise). I don;t think I am eating enought though as I am probably averaging 26 points and not touchhing the extra. I have a 8 week old baby so I prefer sleeping to eating. Must try harder to eat all my points this week .

Willabywallaby · 16/08/2011 18:10

Well done herdingcats, keep going benbon and Littlefish.

I got to goal about 6 weeks ago and haven't been maintaining properly, so have gained 2lb. So Thursday Friday I stuck to 29PP and felt v slim Saturday, have lapsed again Blush.

Anyway the point of my posting was to share my jeans shopping experience, I thought I was doing well to get into a size 12, but in a specific jeans shop bought some 'going out' jeans in a size 11!! Was v pleased and have ordered another style they didn't have in another 11. Was very excited, not been a size 11 since I was 17 (nearly 20 years ago).

Hope you've all had a good Tuesday.

crumbletastic · 16/08/2011 18:48

Can I join you please? I started ww last week to lose my baby weight (baby is 8 weeks old now), and at my first weigh in yesterday I lost 7.5lb so that has really motivated me to keep going. My husband has also joined and lost 7lb last week too, I think it is really helping us to be doing it together.

Littlefish · 16/08/2011 20:19

Welcome crumbletastic.

Well, I put on a pound this week. Bollocky bollocks.

I'm now 2.5lbs away from my 4 stone half way target (having got to within a pound).

The friend I go to WW with put on 4.5 lbs this week after her holiday. We have decided to stop arsing around, and really focus on it again. We have agreed that every pound we put on, we have to £5.00 in a shared money box which we will then use to pay for a lovely treat at Christmas time. If we had invoked the fine this week, there would already be £27.50 in the money box Shock.

Let's hope that we actually end up with an empty money box, and tiny bodies by Christmas Grin

wizzler · 16/08/2011 20:57

Littlefish.. that is a really good idea to motivate you.

I put on 1lb this week, but am ok with that. Since I got to gold I have given myself a range, above which I will take extreme action!.. I am still within range but determined to go to WI fairly regularly to keep me honest! .

Welcome Crumble congrats on a fantastic first weeks loss!

Welcome Click.. dont be worried about WI.. no one judges you.. just be pleased that you will never ever be as heavy again as you are now. You won't be hungry on the plan .I recommend you write down any feelings of self loathing and despair, and then refer to them about 5 weeks from now when your motivation starts to slip!

Bishbosh.. quite a few people find they dont lose in week 2 so dont give up.
However YOU MUST EAT ALL YOUR POINTS, (opinions differ on the 49 ones but you must eat your dailies, )

MrsWajs · 16/08/2011 23:05

1.5lb off this week, happy with that just need to make sure I can maintain that while I'm on holiday next week!! What are the maintenance points allowances, does anyone know, at least that way I can try and not put anything on if possible :) Got my first silver 7 tonight too - chuffed!

Big pack on the back to bishbosch and crumble I waited til DD was 12 weeks old before I started as would never have managed to get my head round points etc before that!

crumbletastic · 17/08/2011 10:31

Thank you for the welcomes. TBH I would not have joined so soon if it wasn't for my husband MrsWajs I have about 1.5 stone to lose but he has closer to 6 stone. I was pretty insatiable throughout pregnancy and every evening I askied him to rush out and buy me ice cream or cookies or chicken wings meant he was eating them too and put on much more weight than I did. He has been trying to burn it all off at the gym but is just getting bigger as he has muscle under the fat. He would not go to ww on his own so we go together to help each other.

I am a little worried though, I did enjoy my large first week loss but hope it slows down a lot this week as I don't want it to affect my breast milk by losing too quickly

bishboschone · 17/08/2011 12:50

thanks wizzler..i have done so in the last few days ..I feel like I am eating too much though( even though im not) iyswim??

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 17/08/2011 17:06

Slinking back in disgrace after pretty much 4 weeks of no tracking and eating cakes on behalf of all of MN whilst I was in Germany for a week. WI tomorrow, will have put on about 12 -14lbs I think. Will have to take it on the chin and get going again.

Littlefish · 17/08/2011 18:45

Good luck Wynken. Perhaps it won't be as bad as you fear. The important thing is that you're weighing in and getting back on the plan again.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 17/08/2011 18:57

Thanks Littlefish. It will be bad as have been on the scales at home. But am trying to be philosophical and get back on it. I think I'll need a couple of pounds to take me to 4 stone loss so will keep focusing on what I have achieved and the bigger picture. Will report the extent of my shame tomorrow !

Littlefish · 17/08/2011 19:31

Oh bugger Wynken. If you need a couple of pounds to take you to 4 stone loss, then you and I are in exactly the same place. I will enjoy having you as a weight loss twin! You have done amazingly well so far, and know that you have the tools and strategies to do it again. Report in tomorrow, and we'll go from there.....

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 17/08/2011 20:04

Ok Littlefish, let's do this ! I will report tomorrow when I have recovered from the scales and trying to get my Mum through the door , could be interesting. Thanks for your support.

Littlefish · 17/08/2011 21:45

I've just come back from the gym where I did 40 minutes on the bike and 10 mins on the treadmill. Hold onto your hats ladies......

I even ran for 3 minutes. Now, I know that doesn't sound like much, but the last time I ran was probably about 15 years ago, so I'm feeling quite proud of myself. I'm completely knackered and my knee hurts like buggery, but it's a good sort of knackered and buggered. Grin

What I'm ashamed to admit is that the gym visit was in penance for my lunch at pizza hut Blush. I had one of their posh pizzas, on the last page of the menu. I cut the outside inch and a half off, and asked for it with half the cheese, and no pesto drizzle. No idea how many points it is though. I'll go and have a look on e-source and see if I can find anything similar.

Willabywallaby · 17/08/2011 22:23

Pleased to report a 0.5lb loss tonight, so now only 1.5lb above goal. Still got a week before my holiday to get a bit lower.

SummerLeaps · 18/08/2011 08:18

Hi everyone. Welcome newbies. I am back from holiday, and amazingly considering I was taking little notice of what I ate and drank I only put on a pound. That is fine. I was expecting at least 5 so I am all enthusiastic again. I am back to tracking tracking. My only aim is to eat all my dailies, and to not eat all my weeklies and activities. I am aiming to eat only 20-30 weeklies max. (Yesterday though was a 41 point day... blasted wine!).

I really love this new programme though, it really seems to work for me. :)

Have good days.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 18/08/2011 09:17

Well done Willaby, that's good going.

Summerleaps, that sounds like a result to me, a mere pound, just a large wee really !

Littlefish well done on the gym, I am impressed. How are you feeling today ?

Well have paddled to WI and have put on 11lbs. So am 1 lb off 4 stone loss. A lesson learned that I can't not track and stuff myself stupid for a month but I knew that. The kittens are now not in our room so we can sleep, the house rewired, holiday over and time to move on. This time next year I will be at target, 3 St 5lbs to go. Would like to try and lose 3lbs this week. We're moving allotments in the Autumn so if it stops raining, I have 10x15m of digging to do.

droves · 18/08/2011 20:08

Hi can i join thread?

I joined ww online 3 weeks ago , and have lost a little bit 10 stone to 9.10 1/2.

trying my best to stick to the 29 points ive been given , but i i find i always go over .

Was at 28 points by lunchtime today ....just ruined it all by having fish and chips for tea . ...and a few chocolates.Blush.

Ive never been on a diet before and am struggeling to get to grips with it !

What do i do ? should i exercise more or hope the fish & chips will be covered by the weekly points ?

benbon · 18/08/2011 21:19

weigh in this morning lost 2lbs.. which took me down into the 10st bracket!!! so pleased!!!!.. only 2.5lbs to get to goal... so really going for it this week hope to do it next week!

crumbletastic · 18/08/2011 22:16

Welcome Droves, well done for you loss so far, I know I would never be motivated enough to so it without the meetings so you are doing great. Why do you think you are struggling to stay within your points? Are you just very hungry?

droves · 19/08/2011 10:54

Crumbletastic its not that im just very hungry , its that i just love eating !

Blush .

Think im eating the wrong things too . ...seems to be a lot of potatoes and bread . Never really thought about what i eat before and the log is a bit of a shock .Its a scary thing seeing it all written down.

The hardest thing is all of the snacks we have in the house , for the children.

Also have the ww scales

Think they might be faulty , as i get a different reading on them every time im on them. Can tell me im 9 10 then if i step off and back on them they will say 10 1 or something equally scary. Hmm .

Need to get new ones , currently going to get weighed in boots on the machine thingy.
