spud - I have heard of this if you have hit your 5% or 10% goal - so check that and re-set your goal weight. Sounds like the pc has put you on maintenance!

Well done Benbon - size 12 jeans is fantastic!

herdingcats great goal reaching - how did you lose 5lb in the last week?

Sleepyspaniel that's going really well, you'll definitely need smaller sizes before long!

MrsWajs - excellent result! Bet you feel great!

I am really inspired by reading all these stories of success, I'm just hoping that when I get back on the scales on Monday I have something to show for all my hard work. Smile

wizzler · 11/08/2011 07:02

Well done on reaching goal, Herdingcats... fantastic

Well done on the size 12 jeans Benbon... ( i too spent 6 months losing weight and only went from a G to an F cup)

Congrats to Sleepy too!

Whitershadeofpale · 11/08/2011 08:10

Congratulations everyone. Is anybody a helper? I've been asked to do it and my first night's tonight, just wondering what's involved really.

herdingcats · 11/08/2011 09:41

Hello everyone thank you all for your good wishes.
I started WW because I was /am suffering from a sevevre bad back. Thought the weight loss may help me, has not made the slighted difference to that ,but I now have clothes 2 sizes smaller on the bottom, but as others have said boobs (f cup) are not shrinking Hmm
I can definately say it is a good way, for me at least, to lose weight. I have eaten normal food all the way through the journey. Variation is the key for me ,at least 1 new recipe each week to stop me becoming bored .
On the 5lb loss this week , I put that down to the fact the week before I put on 1.5lb after being somewhere I had no E-source, so the last 6.5 lbs have taken a month to come off. Average loss 1.6lb from the beginning.
Dertermination and able to get back on the bike if you fall off, forget about yesterday and focus on tomorrow is my motto. I've always been a tenacious bugger Wink
Will try for photo's, but I usually avoid them and have no after shots yet.
I help WI, easy ,just write down info onto 2 cards and pass all award cards to leader, and jot down a running total of loss so she can see how much class has lost.
Am considering being a leader ,they need daytiime class leaders ,so would suit me as I have 8yr old DD. All on hold until after op though.
Keep going its all good Smile
Sorry that was a book Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/08/2011 10:02

benbon · 11/08/2011 13:23

just got in from weigh in lost 3.5lbs again this week!!! soooo pleased but just entered it into ww website and its told me im losing to fast ( talk about pissing on my parade... ) lol... so now only 4.5lbs to get to goal! go me :)

MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism · 12/08/2011 02:33

Wow! Well done benbon - that's amazing! Bah humbug to the website Grin

I just can't eat 34 points worth of stuff. I've tried really hard, but really 29 is enough for me. Could I ask to go down do you think?

MrsWajs · 12/08/2011 11:33

Benbon If I am really strict and don't eat all of my weeklies I usually lose about 3lb a week, not sure how you can stop yourself losing weight too quickly when you're following the plan!!

MrsDMM I think your daily points are calculated by your age, height, weight etc so think you need to be eating all of them in order to kickstart your metabolism properly? If not your body will think you're starving it and you won't lose weight (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is there not a treat or something that you could have each day in order to make up the points?

MrsWajs · 12/08/2011 11:35

Oh yeah and my MIL is not happy with me because I'm on a diet!!!! Apparently I'm fine just the way I am and have no reason to be losing weight....I think my BMI being in the overweight category might say otherwise!

JennyPiccolo · 12/08/2011 12:26

People can be total bitches when you're on a diet! Nobody wants you to get thinner than them, it's just sabotage.

Well, I 'put on' a pound this morning. My new scales are 3lb heavier than my old ones so I've actually lost 2lb but have had to log it as a gain. Oh well, onwards and downwards.

Sleepyspaniel · 12/08/2011 14:41

MrsWajs speaking of MILs, mine said just after I'd had the baby: "now, you're not going to go on one of those silly diets are you?" Er... I hadn't realised she thought I warranted a diet, silly or otherwise (we had never discussed weight/diets etc, her comment was out of the blue) also, it did just make my mind up on the spot that I was definitely going on a diet! The thought that she didn't want me to was enough to trigger looking up a WW group. Thanks MIL! (just goes to show though that basically unless someone is seriously in danger of health by obesity you should just BUTT OUT unless you are very close the person).

Well done with your lb off blondes

Jenny I hate it when scales show different even if you know they are wrong, it's still nice to see the right (lighter) weight on the scales! I would definitely feel despondent if my scales showed say, 7lb heavier even if I knew they were faulty. The psychology of dieting hey!

Littlefish · 13/08/2011 08:31

Good morning everyone. Sorry I haven't been around much. I've had a very sad couple of weeks with the death and funeral of my cousin's 19 year old daughter from cancer. I am very, very close to my cousin, so I've been trying to support him. As a result, I really haven't been focussing on WW. I think I've put on a pound and am struggling to get back into the plan. Daytimes are fine, but evenings are a bit of a nightmare. Plus, now it's the holidays, I can't go to the gym during the day and dh has been out a lot in the evenings which has stopped me going then too.

Blimey, what a long list of excuses! On the plus side, I've tried to be really aware of how I'm feeling, and how that affects my desire to eat. I've been trying to let myself feel sad, rather than anaesthetise myself with food, if you see what I mean.

I've made a big batch of courgette soup to have for the next couple of days to try and kick start things. I'm still 1.5lbs away from my 4 stone, half way point.

wizzler · 13/08/2011 12:44

Littlefish, it must be a very difficult time, and seems like you are taking a very senbsible approach to life, just concentrating on being there for your cousin. WW will still be there when you feel ready to throw yourself back in to it all, and don't beat yourself up about the odd pound.. you have done nearly 4 stone which is a fantastic achievement in itself. Thinking of you.

Littlefish · 13/08/2011 14:02

Thank you wizzler. You are lovely.

Fantastic news Herdingcats. I'd love to see some before and after photos if you feel brave. I think it's very inspiring for the rest of us to see friends on this thread get to goal.

Benbon - size 12 jeans! WOW! That must feel really great.

I had my own little triumph last week in the same sort of vein. A friend told me that my new, size 18 jeans looked too big, so I decided to try on a smaller pair next time I went shopping, even though I was convinced they wouldn't fit. Imagine my surprise and absolute joy to find that they fitted (just about, although I'm not sure how comfortable they'll be after a whole day!).

I started WW in October as a size 24/26, so getting into (and wearing today), those size 16s felt fantastic. For anyone who wants to get into a smaller size jeans, can I recommend Rocha John Rocha in Debenhams - they seem to come up nice and generous! I know it's cheating, because I'm really not a size 16 yet, but it's lovely to feel that one day I will be. Smile

herdingcats · 13/08/2011 19:23

Liitlefish - its right what people say, you have done great to lose so much. when there is so much going on ,you cannot beat yourself up over the things you try to do. This is a long journey and you are well on the way. Take care.
I just want to say as well, that those jeans always seem small fitting to me so you are a size 16 and fabulous with it . Smile
Good luck everyone this week I will miss my WI as I'm off to look after a relative who has had a big operation . Will still have E-source though so that will help.
Looking for photos, but they are rare. Will let you all know if I do add to my profile.

bishboschone · 14/08/2011 20:46

I have recently started ww and am on my second week. WI tom. I had my baby 8 weeks ago and I put on many many stones :(. Fortunatley I weed out about 3 stone but I have 2 to get back to pre pregnancy weight. My first week I lost 3.5 pounds and am hoping for a few again tomorrow. I do't find it too hard but I have filled my cupboards with WW snacks so I am not tempted by anything else, I take them out with me so if I need something it is there.good luck everyone .

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2011 21:54

littlefish, so sorry to hear about the death of your cousin :(

keep plodding along babe xx
