Hello all -

No showing off your suntan blondes - your FB updates seem to suggest you had a lovely sunny holiday with lots of sunset drinks.

vnmum - have you managed to be out running again?

LF - sorry to hear your news. Hope you are ok.

shoulders - how is the world of work? Pleased you are still at target.

benbon - you are so close to target - September and you will be there for sure.

Hello to wizzler and the other oldies of the thread.

Waves to all newbies - hope you are all doing well.

Not able to catch up properly - will try to read the thread tomorrow (while entertaining children) but no WI for last three weeks and no scales at home. Trousers are feeling tight though!

Meal planned for next week - get me!- and tracker in the kitchen ready for tomorrow. Will get WI at gym on Wed so will report back then. Aiming to lose 5lbs by the end of August ready for back to school when I will be able to get to a class again. Missing the classes and proper WI as I so need this.

Eek. First weigh in in 2 hours. Fingers are firmly crossed.

It took me ages to work out the WI meant weigh in. I kept reading it as Women's Institute! Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/08/2011 22:44

i did think the thread had been very quiet - was having a quick whizz through

yes androb i had a lovely hols - lappy has died :( so getting a new one then can put up holiday pics on fb

mrs d assuming you are not in uk if wi is at midnight lol - good luck

MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism · 08/08/2011 01:07

Hi Blondes, nope am in sodding Australia.

Somehow, somefuckinghow, I managed to only lose 0.4kg. Which is less than 1 pound.

Despite never eating more than 30 points (am on 34). Christ I am unhappy. Sad

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/08/2011 09:36

from what i gather you MUST eat your pp up mrsd so if you are having 4 less a day thats almost a whole days points less over the week, so your body may think its starving

the regulars on here know that i cant eat all 49extra and lose weight - the most i can have is maybe 20/30 tops

georgie22 · 08/08/2011 09:45

Bit of an update - have lost 8.5lb in 3 weeks on PP so really pleased. I'm generally finding it OK. Enjoying a Dairy Milk mini (3 PP) each evening as a treat and an occasional mini milk (1 PP)!! TMI warning - I'm finding that I'm getting constipated which happened last time I did WW. Anyone else finding this a problem?

herdingcats · 08/08/2011 11:27

oh hello everyone, I see the pace of the thread is picking up again.
welcome newbies Smile
androbbob where have you been hiding?
I did a new recipe on saturday night Courgettes stuffed with chorizoand veg couscous 6PP a serving, made a tomato and garlic sauce for 0PP to go with it. If anyone wants it I will try and post on the recipe thread.
Hoping for a better result at WI this week, time will tell !!

HattiFattner · 08/08/2011 11:49

1 lb down hoorah!

hmc · 08/08/2011 20:05

Not got stamina to try and catch up on last 2.5 weeks so apologies for that! Hope everyone is doing well. Back from jolidays and have probably gained a little I think - will know what the damage is at WI on Wednesday.

wizzler · 08/08/2011 20:33

Just catching up with this thread... well done Hatti, Georgie and everyone else who has lost... Mrs Distinctly.. a loss is a loss, but you must eat your points.

Blondes.. welcome back..It was weird when folks kept asking if they could eat their weeklies, and no response from you. Glad you had a fab holiday.. sounds like just what you needed ... ( 9 lbs Shock!)

I learnt a salient lesson this weekend. Since getting to goal ,I have relaxed a bit on the old propoints counting. Then on friday I had fish and chips at the seaside for lunch, then at 10pm at night DH and I ordered a takeaway curry which I gobbled so fast it scarecely touched the sides. As I am a) not used to eating that much fat in a week, let alone in a day and b) not used to eating that late I felt ill all day saturday, and was still feeling ill when I went to bed on saturday night... never again!. Back to BNS soup for me!

. Has anyone seen *Norma?

androbbob · 08/08/2011 20:45

herding - not really been hiding - laptop was playing up and phone is next to useless with MN (due an upgrade 18th Sept - not that I am counting!). Also kids hols so lots of running around as kids in different places and me still at work. Been hitting gym at lunchtime so little internet time then. Was quite liberating but not good for weightloss!

wizzler - good to hear you are still at goal - I can only dream at the moment! Sounds like you will not struggle staying at goal!

Had a good WW day today - went to McD with kids and nephew and had a Happy meal as well - gave DD two of my nuggets so only had small portion. We watched a film in the afternoon and I had none of their sweets either! I had a lovely stir fry for tea. Been to the gym and blasted for 30 mins then jumped on the Power Plate for a vibrate - read that it is good for cellulite!

blondes - have you been back to the gym since your hols?

Hope everyone else is well and surviving the hols. Welcome back hmc

Not seen any sign of Norma at all - perhaps she is not posting anymore??

TheJiminyConjecture · 09/08/2011 12:48

Hello,

Hope you don't mind me jumping onto your thread but I have some questions and you're clearly the people to ask Grin

I'd like to lose about half a stone - could be a lb or so either way, basing it on how I look in my clothes rather than scales iyswim? Would ww be the way to go?

My DH thinks that I'd eat more if I went on a diet and I think that's a fair assumption as I don't really look after myself in the day food wise. No breakfast, bag of crisps for lunch and endless pepsi max etc. I do cook from scratch for evening meals though. Do you think WW would encourage me to look after myself better? (I'm just lazy and out of the habit I suppose)

My other question is about cost. We're on a strict budget and tend to eat lots of carb heavy meals such as pasta and savoury rice as they're cheap. Will I be able to follow the recipes etc on a budget?

Thanks for any advice

herdingcats · 09/08/2011 13:42

*TJC*Go to the WW site and assess your BMI ,and needed weight loss . I think you have to be a minimum of 8lbs over the top weight for your BMI listing.
Does that make sense ? Smile
You can eat well ona budget, but you will need to watch your carbs as they are point heavy with WW. HTH Smile

TheJiminyConjecture · 09/08/2011 14:18

I did the assessment and it said I'm within the healthy rane for BMI and weight. But it does also say (please excuse C&P)

For most people within this range, the focus should be on not gaining weight; or, if you've gained weight, you may want to get back to a previous healthy weight; Weight Watchers could help you do this

This is where my confusion lies will I be allowed to join as they said ww could help? Or will I pay and be doing maintaining? I won't be going to meetings so will be online only does this make a difference?

Thanks

herdingcats · 09/08/2011 17:06

As an example you can join if your are within the healthy BMI, but must have so much to lose and not drop out of the bracket.
E.G. 5' 6" tall BMI range 8st 12lb -11st 1lb, minimum joining weight is 9st 3lb.
If you say your height I can tell you the min -max for BMI and min join weight if you want . Smile

TheJiminyConjecture · 09/08/2011 19:18

You just did! (Am just under 5'7") Thanks very much for taking the time to help me. I'm 10 stone 3lb and a size 10/12 atm with a flabby belly that needs to go. DD is 19 months - the baby weight excuse is just not cutting it anymore!

Sleepyspaniel · 09/08/2011 21:44

Hi all can I come in?

Joined WW just under two weeks ago, 1st WI lost 5 1/2 lb, 2nd weigh in is tomorrow. Had a bit of bad week as TOTM and felt very hungry plus craved salty snacks so ate a few more bowls of cereal and some salted peanuts which I wish I hadn't but just couldn't help it... However, back on track yesterday and today.

Loving WW own branded low PP treats because the sweetie stuff is my downfall!

JennyPiccolo · 09/08/2011 23:59

Got new swanky digital scales today and they make me 3lbs heavier than my last crappy ones. I doubt I'll be recording a loss this week unless some miracle occursAngry

MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism · 10/08/2011 01:39

Have picked myself up and am hard at it - trying to eat my points!

I really need an alternative to bread - I never really used to eat it as I don't really like it all that much, but since starting I've eaten a lot more and my tummy is objecting big time! The things I used to eat (basically meat and veg with huge amounts of cake/biscuit/ice cream) are nowhere near point dense enough and it feels very much like I'm eating for the sake of eating.

Oh irony of ironies.

Are any of you gluten intolerant? How do you cope?

HattiFattner · 10/08/2011 09:01

i had a rubbish day yesterday - ate all blasted day, used up all my point and dipped into weeklies by 6pm, then DH came home with some good news and we had to crack open a bottle to celebrate...and then another Blush (it was VERY good news).

Thismorning AUnty FLo arrived, which would account for the eating like a loon. Must DO Better today!

spudulika · 10/08/2011 09:15

Right ho - can anyone explain what's happened to my online pro-points tracker?

When I started I was given an allowance of 29 points.

This morning I went to track my breakfast and saw that my daily allowance is now 35 points.

What's going on?

Has my daily allowance gone up because I've lost more than 2lbs a week? I've only lost just over 10lbs in the 4 weeks I've been doing the diet, so not drastic weight loss.

Don't feel right about eating 35 points and can't imagine I'm going to lose much weight on it.

herdingcats · 10/08/2011 09:26

TJC- glad that helped
Sleepy welcome, good early oss, expect it to calm down to a lower weekly rate.
MrsD- my friend is coeliac and doing WW, she manages without problems. Lots of GF products are on E-source
spud- have you fallen into the healthy BMI bracket? If so you can reset your PP allowance to 22 if you want to keep losing. This happened to my friend when she got to that stage .HTH Smile
Fingers crossed for a good result at WI tonight

spudulika · 10/08/2011 09:44

No - not at goal yet and BMI not within a healthy range. Will look into reseting points allowance.

MrsWajs · 10/08/2011 10:29

3lbs off yesterday, very happy Wajs :) That was my own little personal goal as all my baby weight is now officially gone!! Just another 10lbs to shift and I think that'll do!

Does anyone here pay the 5.99 weekly? Are you still entitled to 2 holiday days a year from meetings or is it dependant on the leader?
