that's still a loss though! and overall 8.4 in 3 weeks is really good.

benbon · 29/07/2011 22:24

hi everyone. got back from my 2 week all inclusive holiday in ibiza this morning, had a fab time ate and drank loads and just lazed by the pool... felt alot heavier by end of hols so weighed myself thismorning and was plesently suprised only to have put on 2lbs.. so am now back on it. did stage one jillian to ease myself back in lol!!!

wizzler · 30/07/2011 20:38

Welcome back Benbon
Molly....8.4 in 3 weeeks is good... keep at it!

vnmum · 31/07/2011 16:21

well done jenny molly
whiter sometimes when you start exercising your body holds more water and you only see the loss the following week
benbon glad you had a nice holiday and a 2lb gain is good considering but don't be disheartened if you get a sts next week as the holiday may still be catching up with you

I went for a run today for the first time in weeks and managed to do 2.77 miles in 32 minutes. I did have a few 10 sec walk breaks but i'm still pleased and i mean to carry on now

wizzler · 01/08/2011 17:53

So where is everyone ?

Littlefish · 01/08/2011 19:49

I'm here, but struggling this week. My cousin's 19 year old daughter died of cancer last week. I spent a few days with my cousin immediately afterwards to try and support him, but feel so helpless. I'm going to weigh in tomorrow, but expect to stay the same, or put on. My period is due tomorrow too. I'm just trying to be kind to myself this week and not put myself under too much pressure.

vnmum · 01/08/2011 20:24

I was thinking that too wizzler
littlefish sorry for your loss, it must be a hard time for you

wizzler · 01/08/2011 22:44

Oh Littlefish, that is so sad. Take care

HeyH0 · 01/08/2011 22:55

wizzler I've been sprawled in a hammock for the best part of a fortnight; need to catch up/step on the scales Hmm.

Littlefish Oh dear, how awful. :( Take it easy.

benbon · 02/08/2011 09:13

think i have managed to get my bum back in gear.

what i find suprising is how many people now comment with little gems like... "your wasting away" and "i dont think you should lose any more weight" which is comical as im still 9lbs away from my goal weight which is top end of my bmi currently 11.4 and 5"5 in height... goal weight is 10.10

people would comment when i was fat (starting weight was 15st) and there still commenting now im trying to do something about it! cant win can you!

Collision · 02/08/2011 09:31

Am still here too!

Off to Tuscany on Sunday and desperate to lose just half a pound on WI day (tomorrow) so that I can say I lost 2 stone!!

HeyH0 · 02/08/2011 10:12

By some miracle I appear to have lost 4kg in the past 3 weeks. Shock Wonder if I can use this too justify going on holiday more often?! Wink

Benbon I seem to have been attracting lunatic comments recently too, mainly from people who've known me for years. I've been overweight for around 18 months, so being told by people who're used to seeing me as a size 10 (or less) that I shouldn't lose much more weight is bizarre, especially when I'm still significantly larger than I was! (The tape measure tells me I'm roughly a 16-18 at the mo').

HattiFattner · 02/08/2011 16:35

hello! I managed to lose 2.5 lbs despite being on hols and eating piggishly - we also walked miles and miles so clearly i was doing something right. Onwards and downwards!

NorkyButNice · 02/08/2011 19:32

Wow well done for losing on holiday!

I'm weighing in tomorrow and am hoping I manage to lose a couple of pounds - I'm getting disheartened with the slow progress even though I'm sticking to the plan.

Does anyone know about weightloss while on Anti-depressants? The blurb that came with my Amitryptiline suggested that it can cause weight-gain so I'm wondering if that's my problem.

MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism · 03/08/2011 08:03

Hello, can I come and join in? After 6 months of ignoring that biscuits and cake do not a balanced diet make (esp. when combined with moving across the world) I am a hideous fat thing. Again. Damn.

So I've joined WW here in Australia, and I'm on Day 3 with 30kg to lose.

I'm on 34 points but I'm not using all of them, and following an excellent night out on Saturday I'm planning never to drink again Hmm so haven't used any on alcohol either!

Is it important to use all the points? I am WW virgin and not really sure what to do (used SW before but they are not here in Aus)

Littlefish · 03/08/2011 08:05

Sorrry Norky - I don't know anything about weightloss while one Anti-depressants. I think you just have to keep telling yourself that progress is great, whether it's slow or not!

As expected, I put on at weigh in last night, but only half a pound, so not too bad really given the week that I've had.

HattiFattner · 03/08/2011 09:07

MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism you must eat all your dailies, and its up to you if you eat all your weeklies too.

I started on 34 points and that has really quickly dropped down to 30.

In the first week you wont eat them all, but there after....you'll find yourself dipping into the weeklies regularly. Blush

vnmum · 03/08/2011 09:36

well done heyho and hatti
littlefish as we say on this thread, 1/2 pound is not a gain its just a poo Grin

welcome distinctly. You are meant to eat all your dailies and then use your weeklies if you want to. My DH will be so jealous of you. He has been trying to talk me into moving to aus for years but the pull of family is keeping me here, plus the creepy crawlies over there and the fact it is not as cheap out there as it used to be. He's still trying though Smile

SummerLeaps · 03/08/2011 13:15

Oh Littlefish I am so very sorry for your and your cousin?s loss.

Well done all the losers! I did not go to WI yesterday (DH came home with a bottle of cava for no good reason at all, so I decided to skip.) But according to my scales I have lost 2 pounds and am now 10 stone 7. I am very pleased if it is true, but I am not going to convince myself that it is right, until I verify at the meeting. It ought to be roughly right though- Last week I had 5 alcohol-free days (alcohol always makes me hungry) and only dipped into my activity points- but all weeklies were gone by Friday. Blush

I am on vacation from Friday, for 9 days. I already know that I will not really be wanting to track, so my aim to is keep a fair eye on things, but to limit alcohol almost entirely. Have a party twice, so I will have a glass (or three) of wine then, but otherwise will try and avoid it. That is my only strategy, and the beauty of WW is that I feel confident that even if I put some on, that I can re-start the downward trend.  Well, that is the PLAN anyway!

herdingcats · 03/08/2011 13:20

Hello everyone. Just back from a camping break, dreading WI as I have not been ale to track properly whilst away.will know the worst tonight.
Littlefish -so sorry to hear about youe cousin's DD. Very upseting when things like that happen.
Will report back when I'm home from WI later.

TrinIsASadSpottyFatRhino · 03/08/2011 16:13

Hi Everyone
My name is Trinityrhino and I am overweight (in my eyes................. I'm still a teensy tiny .4 bit inside the highest 'not overweight' BMI)

I am heavier now than when I've been pregnant

I can't wear any of my clothes anymore
I dont like being naked
It has shot my self esteem and people comment if I am pregnant

I've done ww points before about 10 years ago to shift the last 10 pounds that didn't shift after dd1

only time I've ever had a problem in my eyes

I''m 5'8 and I weigh 12 stone
mostof the weight is at the belly and I do look oregnant without a doubt
the rest is on my thighs (they now rub Blush) and arse and hips Sad

I'm not up for it anymore, I sort it out now

I'm doing propoints on the net
I've ordered the premium at home kit
I have the ww scales

I am eating my meals with a knife and fork to the table and trying to take 20 mins (17 mins so far my best)

I'm trying to drink at least 8 glasses of sugar free sqaush or water a day

fish one meal, meat the other, 5 portions of veg, tons and tons of fruit and veg, easy on the carbs

sensible portions, more activity

just better mmore thughtful eating basically using the propoints to help me

I have 29 points per day

this is day 2

Hoping you dont mind me joining, (aware that I have tried to join you before and failed Blush)

Littlefish · 03/08/2011 16:52

Trinity - welcome! Your plans for sensible eating and more activity sound good. What is your first mini goal? Many of us have found that it's really helpful to break our overall goal down into much small, achieveable chunks so that we have tangible success, regularly.

TrinIsASadSpottyFatRhino · 03/08/2011 16:53

11 stone 5 pounds is my first goal
its 5% and seems like a good start, not too scary to acheive iyswim

Collision · 03/08/2011 21:15

YAY!!! I lost my half pound which means my 2 stone!! Grin

Very pleased and came home and ate a scone! Twas yum!

Pinkjenny · 03/08/2011 21:41

Can I join, ladies? I have only ever really lost weight successfully with Slimming World, but I feel like the SW concept just encourages my gluttonous tendencies, so am giving WW a go. This is week 3, lost 5lb in first week, 1lb in second, and am looking at a maintain this week, during which I have been on my period. I have 2 and a half stone to lose. Am looking for some wise words and encouragement, as I am sticking to it religiously, yet the lbs aret exactly flying off me. I am still quite suspicious of the whole thing, tbh. Does it really work? What about the weeklies, I've only had around 22 of them in each week. Am I being too impatient?
