Sweeet! Glad I can still bit a bit pissed on Sat then. I'm doing extra easy. Only started yesterday, so still getting my head around it all. Evening meal won't be the problem, it's lunches at work that are more tricky for me, as I'm using my b choice in the morning as toast, which I LOVE. Today i had one of those pasta and sauce thingies, salad and a muller light, and I was so full after that. But don't really wanna be eating processed stuff all the time. It's just making that shift from buying a lardy sandwich and crisps every day which is what I was doing before. I'll get there. I'm well motivated I think, saw some HORRIFIC photos of myself the other day, so thats helped....!!!!

whatkungfuthat · 26/08/2011 14:15

Be prepared for the weight to spike on a Monday though after the wine at weekends, it does go down again though. Can you get access to jacket potatoes nearby? Then you can take fillings with you. On EE its easy as long as you remember to cut the fat off of meat and use spray oil to make roast spuds etc. I use my HEA on cheese, which I cut into tiny cubes and have as a snack with grapes in the evening (I don't have milk in coffee etc. anyway)

etodd81 · 26/08/2011 14:23

We've got a microwave here so I suppose could do jackets in the office. God idea, thanks! I'm gonna try not to weigh myself midweek at all, just weight for the weigh in at the class. Although maybe I'd like to know whats coming! I bought a frylight thingy yesterday, and loads of fat free yogurts and stuff for snacks. How much have you lost doing SW this time round? I chose it over weightwatchers as I liked the idea of not having to count up points and weigh out everything.

whatkungfuthat · 26/08/2011 14:43

This is my 2nd week, I've lost 2 pounds which should have been more but it was my birthday last weekend and I had a pre-arranged curry evening and I had prawn puree and passanda Blush. DP is doing it too and has lost 5lbs. I found that last time I was cooking everything from scratch so, apart from it being a low fat diet, it was healthy in the respect that everything is fresh too. When I switched to WW I started getting more processed stuff, like M&S food etc. I was also eating way too much bread and fooling myself about how many points I was eating so the weight started to pile back on.

last time I just stopped eating anything really bad like chocolate and steered clear of anything fatty, even if I had the syns for it and used them for wine instead Grin I make huge roast dinners with lean beef, green beans, spray-oil spuds and mash made with horseradish (synned) which would still be loads of points on WW. Good luck with it, there are loads of really friendly, helpful people on here and there is a recipe thread for ideas.

LakeFlyPie · 26/08/2011 16:11

Afternoon all.

Not sure where the week went and the thread has moved so fast, welcome to all the new folk, hi to the stalwarts and Grin to bee Wink

Quick post whilst the whirlwind who is DS2 ATM sleeps.

Had a reasonable week until yesterday when I ate everything in sight, munching all day in a ridiculous display of pre holiday self sabotage and ending with a large bowl of ice cream Blush
Trying to get back on track today.

Off to stay with in laws in France for 10 days on monday and will be served 3 meals a day over which I have no control.
I know this sounds like absolute luxury to most, but I find it quite difficult as PIL have very different eating habits to us and I miss having lots of salad, veg, fruit and yogurt.
I usually try and get to the local market and stock up but they live out in the sticks so not very easy.
I'll have to go with the flow foodwise and come back with renewed zeal in a couple of weeks.
There is beautiful (hilly) countryside and a swimming pool to burn off some of the calories Smile

Food today:
BF: Muesli, apple +FF yog
L: Cheese + onion omelette
D: Mediterranean chicken (thanks for recipe cheese) + green beans
Snacks: yog, fruit

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/08/2011 16:50

I have spent the last 24 hours puking. Was out for a meal with friends and certainly felt sick. Jumped in a cab and as soon as I got home, the vomiting started. Might mean a loss on Weds! Feeling better now and just had a piece of toast.

bee have you Poas yet?

ria enjoy your hol. Where are you going?

what no date night? Are you kidding me?! I freaking love date night

Welcome etodd. agree with what kung told you. THe other thing is to plan for the week ahead to avoid cheating. So today I have written a list of all the meals we are going to have this week and then have done an online shop to avoid putting extra crap in the trolley!

lake have a great hol. Can you just be honest wtih PIL and tel them you don't want to ruin your diet? SOunds like a fab hol though. Have a great time!

whatkungfuthat · 26/08/2011 16:59

Oh no cheese thats terrible, but you may be right about the weigh-in. We have discussed going for a walk, thats about as far as it will get though. Still, it would stop me eating Grin

lake I'm Envy of the hols, especially the pool.

Tonight I will be entertaining a Mr Pinot Grigio

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/08/2011 17:12

Grin I am more of a Mr Sauvignon Blanc woman, preferably from New Zealand!

whatkungfuthat · 26/08/2011 17:45

Ah yes I know him, DP thinks he is too 'herby' Confused

etodd81 · 26/08/2011 19:23

I'm a sauv blanc girl too, mmmmm!

Thanks for the welcome cheese. I did an online shop too last night after I'd got back from my 1st weigh in. Bought loads of ingredients to make some of the SW recipes online. Tonight we're having SW chicken curry, my DH is just making it, he's a good un!! I didn't buy crisps or biscuits or anyhting, but there's still bread, cheese etc in the house for the kids. I'm a sucker for toast as a snack, but so far I've not cracked!

I'm going out tomo night with my sister and sister in law (both lovely and slim annoyingly), and planning to drink a whole lot of wine! I know this will prob sabotage my diet, but IT IS my 30th.....

Have a great holiday lake, i'm tres jeal....

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/08/2011 19:27

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Have some scanbran cake Grin

etodd81 · 26/08/2011 19:33

It was my actual birthday on Monday, before I started SW, so I had LOTS OF CAKE then!! Prob part of the reason I weighed in at 14 st 11 on Thurs!!

whatkungfuthat · 26/08/2011 21:04

Damn etodd I'm nearly old enough to be your mum! Glad I've got Wine

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/08/2011 22:25

Am jealous of cake Envy and wine

Riasdragonflytattoo · 27/08/2011 01:33

I'm quite fond of a nice cool south african myself! S blanc or C blanc, not fussy... when I'm really pushing the boat out Marlborough is a favourite as it's not far from where Dsis lives.

kungfu, sorry to be dim, but what is PRINCE2? I had this really clever idea that I wanted to study environmental science. It is the "science" bit I am struggling withBlush

have just finished ironing whlst watching The Duchess. So much to do in the morning, but at least if it's peeing down we won't be rushing off as early as planned. We are off to the lovely yorkshire dales. DH hasn't been with us for ages (at least 18 months) so that will be nice, then he is swapping cat sitting duties with my parents on Tuesday, and the boys and I will have the rest of the week with them. (best behaviour!)

my friend had a 2 week celebration for her 30th, preceded by about 11 months of planning. I am only 33 but I can't remember mine! (it was so uneventful, not that I had too much boozeWink, I expect we celebrated, but I have no idea how... Enjoy your night out.

grinningbee · 27/08/2011 03:36

Welcome to Etodd and a belated happy birthday!

I missed celebrating my, ahem, 40th as I was 38.5 weeks pg. Hey ho.

Very jealous of all this wine and cake talk, both of which I could do with now. Ds has been up since 2.10 and is currently merrily playing on the floor. Being very lively. Angry

My wine of choice is Italian red. Lovley Smile

The alarm is set to go off in just over 3 hours. I wonder if I'll have got back to bed by then...

OP posts:
grinningbee · 27/08/2011 03:48

Lovley?? I meant of course, lovely.

I need sleep.

Oh, while I'm here - anyone tried watching Inception? We gave it a go earlier but switched it off after an hour. It's soooooooooo confusing! We're going to give it another go when either we can concentrate more, or we have wine Grin

OP posts:
grinningbee · 27/08/2011 04:12

Because I'm still waiting for the little darling to get tired, and we are nearing 1000 posts, I took the liberty of setting up the next thread for when we're ready:

New thread linky

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 27/08/2011 08:16

bee I was up with you. I pressed thr wrong button so lost my post. DD got another cold so struggled last night, slept with me as DH decided there wasn't enough room for all of us in our room. He took the spare room so has had a lovely nights sleep. What a gent! Did you get back to sleep

ria have a good hol. If I were you, I'd let the teenagers pack for themselves, but then I'm mean Grin

The plan for today was pilates but dint think I can put DD in Creche with a filthy cough. So will do shred and zumba on wii, plus walk to the shops (40min round trip)

Feeling much better so food looks like this
B: fruit and yog
L: beans and poached egg on hobbit toast (heb)
D: Sw beef Wellington (2.5 syns. I think)

Am determined to get bk on plan so am going bk to documenting everything both on here and on a piece of paper so no more sneaky wine

SlinkyB · 27/08/2011 08:53

Morning all, wow this thread's moving fast again!

Welcome to the newbies - hope you are enjoying the birthday celebrations etodd - I had my big 30 earlier this year. Threw a big fancy dress party and had such a laugh! It was post-baby and pre-diet so perfect Wink

Ria Was The Duchess good? I've wanted to watch that for ages. Enjoy The Dales, always wanted to go and my bro is now living up there so hoping to make a trip up there soon.

bee Sorry you had such a rubbish night with ds, hope you manage to catch 40 winks later. I watched Inception earlier this year and still have no idea what it's about, although my 11yo dss loved it ! I have the concentration span of a gnat though, and don't really like too much action in films.

cheese Did you have a good holiday? Sorry you had a bad belly! And hope dd recovers soon. Don't know where you find the energy for zumba and shredding on little sleep. Ds is a good sleeper but I still can't be arsed struggle.

I'm off to my Father's for a couple of nights, looking forward to a change of scene. Have four birthdays to celebrate, so lots of cake dodging. Am not planning on dodging the wine though, it's a Bank Holiday and I'm British, ergo I will have a drink or three!!

Enjoy everyone.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 27/08/2011 10:03

slinky have a good break - I'm like you and I can't resist the wine! I'm good at surviving on v little sleep due to my job. Plus DD is normally a really good sleeper, she has had a rough run of teething, coughs and colds. We are going to drop the dream feed as it seems to be waking her up!

From now on I will use the shiny new thread, thanks bee

whatkungfuthat · 27/08/2011 11:51

Morning all.

Ria PRINCE2 is a project management methodology which is more or less the standard. I have the experience but not the bit of paper. I'm SE but haven't had much work (techie comms stuff) so need to branch out a bit. Have a good trip.

bee hope you get a nap later

Cheese glad you are feeling better

Slinky have a good time, good luck with the cake dodging

Food:
Poached eggs, bacon, grilled tomatoes
Banana on toast with little bit of honey
Not sure about dinner as its date night
