Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

Sorry about the bread pic. Nah, not really Grin! For size reference, the tray it is on is the width of the oven. So he is a big hedgehog. If I make one tomorrow I'll take another piccy with a tin of something next to it.

6 portions will probably mean 4 here. Dh LOVES his food!

Oh, and WWWY - I've done SW proper (gone to classes) three times before, but have not joined this time. I have some old books/recipes/this thread, so I think if you know the concept and have grasped the basics, you can probably get away with not joining or paying. I spend the £5 per week I've saved on going to Zumba!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 24/08/2011 18:47

Thanks Slinky - it's just the full syns list I think I need - I've no problem with joining, I just don't think I'll go more than once or twice. Might do what my DM suggested, just go once and buy the book.
Although maybe I'll be missing some fabulous recipes or revelations if I don't join?
< ponders >
Anyway spag bol tonight - is it okay to have a bit of the spag?

SlinkyB · 24/08/2011 20:25

We've a recipe thread on here somewhere (had totally forgotten about it actually, hence above chilli recipe). Hopefully someone smarter than me will come along and do a link for you :)

If you're doing a red day, only have a small amount of pasta. If you're doing a green day only have a small amount of bolognese...don't ask me about extra easy though! Oh, I prefer to use quorn mince and brown pasta then you can have as much of both as you want!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 24/08/2011 20:37

recipe thread

Riasdragonflytattoo · 24/08/2011 20:46

EE - 2 thirds of the plate free foods so pasta and sauce, and 1/3 "superfree" which is most veg except peas, beans, sweetcorn etc, so pretty much red day free veg I think.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 24/08/2011 21:10

Thanks I did the red/original thing - so hard not to chow down on a big pile of pasta. Sauce was Hugh F-W's - best bolognaise I've made.
I know what you mean about the quorn, but I've thrown up spectacularly the last couple of times I've eaten it, followed by a week's dodgy tum, so give it a wide berth now.
Hope I haven't put anyone off tomorrow's dinner!

grinningbee · 24/08/2011 21:22

We ended up with sausages tonight as dh didn't want chilli - but I have quorn chilli for dinner tomorrow.

I have had an "interesting" evening. Does anyone who was here 3 months ago or so remember what I said happened to me the last 2 times I started SW???

And for goodness sake, please DO NOT post anything on Facebook! (I need to double check). Hope that's cryptic enough for you. It is top secret squirrel.

And don't think you're getting rid of me either GrinWink

SlinkyB · 24/08/2011 21:49

I only started eight weeks ago but am pretty sure I've worked out your cryptic message bee!! Ooooh, the excitement!! Grin Will obviously say nothing on FB, you're secret's safe here (I've probably got this completely wrong anyway!).

BonzoDooDah · 24/08/2011 22:00

Evening ladies - well done on those losses.
I'm the dunce of the class and will sit in the corner with the manky apple.
But after a binge week I've escaped lightly with a maintain. So a current loss of 23 lb.

grinningbee · 24/08/2011 22:01

Oh, silly me.

Well done everybody!! Good losses this week. I have 4 weeks to lose 4.5lb. I need to be a 12 stone something before I go on holiday.

Makingchanges · 24/08/2011 22:35

Hi guys, could I possible join you. I started SW online 2 weeks ago and I'm really struggling to get on board with it, mainly beause I'm finding it hard to get the time to look through the lists etc and keep eating things thatI think are ok but them realise that they aren't. I have so far lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks so need a bit of support I think.

Can I ask if people find extra easy successful or if I'm better to stick to red / green days.

LittlePushka · 24/08/2011 22:54

Well hello there making changes,...pull up a bean bag honey and make yourself comfortable.

I started SW on line 2 1/2 weeks ago and grinningbee is an online poster too.

I must say I find the website really quite hard to navigate - it seems so over engineered somehow. I really only use it for the online food diary. have you used that?

I also felt a bit overwhelmed by all the lists at first. I do the extra easy because I cannot get my head around the green yet (red is too meaty for me). I bought three books from the website which make it so much easier. They were 100 easy days, a free recipes book and the christmas book ( I know, but it will be out of stock by November, you watchWink.

Anyway, loss is loss - its not a race! And after a while you start to eat more healthily anyway. But stick with it - there are a few of us on here who are quite new to it - so the wise old birds are very useful (as are the daily food lists for ideas)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 24/08/2011 23:04

Welcome what's wrong!

Thanks pushka for doing the list, well done all.I've eaten like a wee fat pig today so won't list my food - but I am on hol.

Anyway my main reason for posting bee fecking hell I've guessed it. Grin you alright? You might as well tell all on here...

LittlePushka · 24/08/2011 23:20

Yes, bee,..please spill the beans (they are free on extra easy you know,...)

Mc Cheese - how many syns in an Iron-bru and a haggis??!!

Have been swindled again today team - I thought some mixed dried fruit would be free so troughed a load before checking......yup, not free is it? Massive syn hit which buggered my glass of crisp white tonight. grrr

And what have we learned today Pushka? Read the books love - dont make it up as you go along...!!!!

Makingchanges · 24/08/2011 23:23

Thanks for the welcome LittlePushkaMaybe I need to stick to green or red for a while and get my head around that before I change. I've also looked at the recipe books online but did WW for quite a while and not sure Ican justify any more as I have loads of WW ones.

Anyway, I'm off to bed but will have a better look through this thread tomorrow.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 24/08/2011 23:54

ahh, make it up as you go along. what could go wrong? Wink

bee, am intrigued, and have no idea what you are on about, so wont be posting on FB (unless by complete slip up of course), but if your "interesting" is anything like mine, then Sad, lots of hugs and sympathy.

as an aside, does anyone have any idea - however vague - as to how about completely shafting their parish council and saving a kiddies playground?

pushka - thanks for the PM. meant a lot, esp considering lucozade/wine diet type fluke! Hopefully the walks I have planned for my hols will mean a loss when I get back, but willprob miss DoD next week.

LittlePushka · 25/08/2011 00:07

Rias,...re parish council - you need to canvass local opinion an get supporters to overwhelm them with their concerns. PC will need to take such into consideration. Also, find a sympathetic parish counciller (not necessarily in same parish) to give you advice on how to rock the boat effectively.

whatkungfuthat · 25/08/2011 08:30

Morning everyone, well done on the losses ladies Grin

Welcome Makingchanges. Pushka from what I remember last time things like dried fruit, orange juice etc. are synned because there is not as much energy spent in your body processing them as in the raw stuff. One of the ladies last year was making loads of SW crisps as an evening snack till her consultant told her that they were synned. Not fair!!

bee please tell us. When I joined my group it took me a few weeks to realise that one of the women was DP's old GF from 20-odd years ago, that was Blush. What is the facebook thing?

Cupboard is bare as its Thursday so food is:

Toast
No idea, maybe LF noodles?
Chicken cooked in passata with peppers and onions, wedges done in spray oil

WhatsWrongWithYou · 25/08/2011 08:47

Morning and thanks for all the welcomes.
So it looks like I'm down 2lbs today - however, I did erm spend some time in the bathroom before weighing Blush.

Today: 'fried' egg sandwich
(no fat as cooked on Aga with special non-stick thingie

Baked spud w tuna

Moroccan style lamb koftas w roast butternut squash and probably a spoonful of rice to stop the gripes.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 25/08/2011 09:10

thanks pushka. fingers crosse it will do some good.

slightly too much wine last nightBlush

grinningbee · 25/08/2011 10:30

Morning all.

Welcome to Makingchanges Smile

Well. I am feeling really really low today, and could honestly just stuff my face. AF is missing in action, so last night I POAS. Was just about to bin it (well within the 10 minute window) when I saw a faint line. It is still there today. Went all wobbly from shock, got excited (in a scared way) and told dh. Did another this morning and nothing. Today is day 34. So where the bleep is AF?

So I am sitting here very glum, wanting chocolate and somehow still imagining I feel pg. Sad

Someone give me a kick up the arse please and tell me to snap out of it.

Right. I shall make a cuppa and then think about making the chilli ready for tea later.

I shall be back to happy me later, sorry for the Eeyore impression.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 25/08/2011 10:31

Beans on toast, clementines and a yogurt
