You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

AlpinePony · 15/06/2011 09:17

Thank you everyone. :)

I've got a very small loss this week - won by a severe bout of D&V - would not recommend. :(

kid the low pulse is excellent - well done you! :) I feel supremely in "good shape" when my pulse is below 55 - no matter what the scales say! Grin

BlooferLady · 15/06/2011 09:32

Hey lassies! Good luck to y'all for the Day of Doom (tm) - and my profoundest weepiest thanks for giving me a pass this week. Still struggling somewhat - it would be nice if the bastid university could confirm whether or not I have my month extension - but I plough on. Am going to try the tactic of plotting an entire day in detail, right down to breaks for tea.

Can I own up to the fact that I went to the pub for a bitter shandy last night and it was the first time I'd left the house since Saturday night Confused. I will be scheduling in a walk today, I promise! No, I do!

I do think once this is over and I return to real life I'll be able to pick up the old weight loss .

Food today - think I'm going RED today

B - fruit salad and yogurt and grape nuts (HEB)
L - cous cous salad with feta (HEA), stewed apple and honey (HEB + 2 syns)
D - baked salmon, butternut squash, courgette, fruit salad

Well done on Take That and pulse reductions and commiserations on poomaggedons!

Bloof of course you will get back to you normal weight loss regime once you have got rid of the thesis, I have every confidence in you Grin

obrigada · 15/06/2011 10:36

Once again I have lost a pound, at least it's going in the right direction :) That's 5lb in 5 weeks, took a 2kg bag of flour and a pound of butter out of the fridge last night just to get an idea of how much 5lb weighs and it actually felt quite heavy. How sad does that make me sound Blush

BlooferLady · 15/06/2011 11:17

Thanks Hedge :)

That doesn't sound sad at all, Obrigada - that's zackly what you're supposed to do to keep visualising your loss! I remember when I lost 3.5 stone the OM prepared a huge rucksack containing nearly that much (only nearly - after putting in the car battery we ran out of heavy stuff Grin ) and we put it on my back - when he let go, I fell over!!! That was a useful lesson....

In fact when I get depressed about my weight gain I might weigh out 2 stone (the amount of weight-loss I have managed to keep off) and see how it feels. ..

and well done on the 1lb loss - at that rate you'll be a right minx come autumn, don't forget!

Onlyaphase · 15/06/2011 12:00

You're all doing fabulously today, cheers all round.

Right, I've walked the non-post-surgical dog for 40 mins, got the old bike out and done a circuit round the local lanes that took 44 minutes (and it is hilly round here) and am now off to collect DD from preschool, remembering to take the bag of carrots to feed the pony next to preschool that I've been promising to take since Easter. So far today, all going well!

Bloofer that rucksack sounds rather heavy - reminds me of backpacking in the late 80s when I spent ages packing everything away and then couldn't actually lift the thing off the ground.

grinningbee · 15/06/2011 12:14

Hello all!

Will catch up shortly - had to take dh to work and then do mega weekly shop. Joy!

Todays food:

Weetabix
Toast and fruit
Sweet chilli chicken with roasted veg
More fruit and maybe a yogurt for snacks

mandalee · 15/06/2011 12:26

Hi all,

Mixed week for me, had gained back some due to a (thankfully short-lived) bout of stewpid eating, then managed to take it off again - so it's a wash this week.

Good news is I am FINALLY back to the gym after 2+ weeks of coughing my lungs up, so that should help. Also liking my new customised red day/carbs before noon plan, it feels workable.

Drinking heaps of H2O - have discovered the sugarfree flavoured water at Tesco, which I can drink 2 litres of without hardly noticing. Also found frozen king prawns half off, so with those and a buncha egg whites in the fridge, I'm well set for protein.

Great work to all you slimming fiends - I may be bottom o' the list this week! Blush

mandalee · 15/06/2011 12:29

Oh, and commiserations Alpine on your illness. Round here we call that the 'diarrhea diet' - sure worked for my husband during our 3 months in India, he went from 80kg to 63! Shock On a 5'10" frame!

We had a Halloween party, and he dressed as a skeleton. Truly. Not a good look. Smile

obrigada · 15/06/2011 12:34

Hi Mandalee, intrigued by your 'red day/carbs before noon plan' ... can you explain it to me?

mandalee · 15/06/2011 13:44

Hi, obrigada -

I made it up myself after some discussion of the crazy but effective Dukan diet and a chat with someone about what SW red days are like. Have decided that I'm taking the middle ground between avoiding ALL fats and carbs for 5 days (crazy Dukan) and the more lenient SW plan.

I know bread/pasta/rice is a diet-killer for me, so for the last few days I've had my carbs primarily at breakfast (a sachet of porridge, and tomorrow I'm going to add a little oat bran for xtra fullness). Yesterday I did have a FF/SF yoghurt with a couple tablespoons of Grape-Nuts (yummy and satisfying, thanks for the idea Grape Nuts fans!) in the afternoon, but lunch and dinner were carb-free apart from veggies. Not so hard, really, and I feel good. So we'll see how we go! Smile

duckymum · 15/06/2011 14:21

Hi all

checking in again for DoDoom - sorry I'm not much in the way of supportive at the moment - have been feeling bad about the amount of Mumsnet time and trying to cut back, as when I go back to work I won't get to read so much here without entirely ignoring my kids (instead of just occasionally).

Anyway 1lb down again - sloooow progress but my own fault as I am just npt trying hard enough.
Got to go and make cake now (DD's birthday)

PS congrats Alpine !!

UrsulaBuffay · 15/06/2011 19:17

DoD is doomy: 1/2 lb on, 1/2 pack of chocolate fingers consumed & a chippy tea on the way.

Back on it tomorrow, honest guvs.

Onlyaphase · 15/06/2011 19:32

Well done all, cracking results.

grinningbee · 15/06/2011 19:41

Well done everyone, and fab results Hedgepig! You must be ever so pleased Smile

I keep telling myself that if I only lost 1lb a week it would still be getting on for 4 stones off in a year. One day we'll have to total what everyone has lost as a group - we must have lost a whole person by now.

grinningbee · 15/06/2011 19:43

P.S I really want to be down into the next stone next week, so I must not slack off!

Onlyaphase · 15/06/2011 20:55

Do you know Grinning when I was typing out all the results, I thought to myself "I bet Grinning really wants to break that stone barrier next week". Its just so close!

Hedgepig · 15/06/2011 21:09

well done Bee and everyone else.

I just have fish and chips Blush , no food in the house and hungry DS after football practice were the fatal mix to make it seem like a good idea at the time. I feel a bit sick Envy that's green for sick not envy btw

Muser · 15/06/2011 21:16

I want to join you in heading for the next stone bracket grinning, we can do it!

Well done everyone on losses and maintaining, and hearty encouragement to all. A new week, another new start!

humptydidit · 15/06/2011 21:33

Hi ladies

Can I join please? I am doing SW at home, as no meetings in the day time near here!

So far lost 8lbs in the last 5 weeks, which I am really chuffed about, but the last 2 weeks only 1lb off. I read on another thread that if you do EE that you must have 1/3 of your plate super foods? What does that mean please? Is it basically I need to up the veg to increase the weight loss?
My menu today was.
B - activia snack pot and apple
L-batchelors pasta n sauce with milk (HEA), bear dried fruit sachet thingy (HEB), pack weight watchers crisps (4 syns)
D- 2 chicken breasts stir fried with a yellow pepper, sweet chilli sauce (4 syns), egg fried rice (sw style)

I am ok with fruit, eating more fruit I mean but no so good with veg, would that help? Will be beter tomorrow, going shopping!

kid · 15/06/2011 21:44

I want to get down to the next stone bracket too, it will be my 3rd stone bracket since starting (seeing as I was 1lb over a stone, then into this stone so hopefully down to the stone before next week as I am now only in it by 1 lb. Confused? I though so lol)

kid · 15/06/2011 21:53

humptydidit I am doing SW at home and have been following the EE plan with a few green days thrown in.
Tbh, I haven't been doing 1/3 of plate as super foods and I have lost 1 stone in 5 weeks so I am guessing I am doing something right.

My food in a day is something like this:

B: weetabix (HEb), milk (HEa)
L: pasta, tuna, sweetcorn, onion, cucumber and 2 tbsp low cal mayo (2ish syns)
D: Rice, chicken, peppers, onions, chopped tomatoes

Snacks: fruit, muller lights,
Synned treats: curly wurly, snack-a-jacks (not every day but a worth while use of syns)

I have also started drinking loads of water. I find that if I keep a bottle with me, I sip on it continously and get through at least 1 litre just as work.

BlooferLady · 15/06/2011 22:11

Top work everyone - especially Grinning :)

I have the sads at missing out this week but it's relieving some of the stress, and means I will (hopefully) be extra keen to get back on it in the next week or so... My key task is not to bloody gain anything between now and then!

Welcome Humpty! I think a fair few folk here aren't going to classes - and indeed we scarcely need to with this lot easily to hand Grin
