You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

OP posts:
mandalee · 08/06/2011 14:23

Oh, and I really want to see a pic of Bloof now. Yowza. Grin

obrigada · 08/06/2011 15:20

I do exactly the same thing Mandalee, at the first sign of finally succeeding at ridding myself of excess lard, I sabatoge it by eating and drinking too much Sad

AlpinePony · 08/06/2011 15:25

bloofer Is proper "gawjus" - in that plus-sized Raphaelite model way. If only she could walk and wear clothes at the same time she could put in a conical bra for Gautlier & order teeny tiny little black coffees in gay paree. But sadly modelling is harder than it looks and she can't turn left. :(

onlyaphase Tell us more about the dog-wrestling, was it very calorie consuming do you think?

I am having an absolute cunt of a day work-wise, although am working from home so that is at least a blessing else I'd be getting punchy by now. 2 cornettos. [hic]

mandalee Only a very strict plan seems to work for me too. I need to be told exactly what to eat at specific times of day, so you'll see no argument from me about Dukan. If Dukan you can. Blush In a perfect world I'd have a chef, I'd tinkle a bell next to my bed - or perhaps even use what we like to call a "telephone", dial down to the kitchen and say "make me something luvvly please, toot sweet, 300 calories".

UrsulaBuffay · 08/06/2011 15:38

I can't do strict and the reason I like sw is that it is virtually imposs to 'eat too much pasta' :)

I am a natural fat kid overeater though

mandalee · 08/06/2011 15:56

Giggling at the idea of bloof falling off a runway with her gorgeous self due to not being able to turn left... Grin

Ursula - by 'eat too much' I really mean 'eat till I feel sick' - which is NOT fun, so WHY did I do it?????? And here I thought I was getting better at all this! Angry

Oh, and anyone who makes nasty comments like those I read (with Shock) above should be forced to suck on mouldy socks until they can keep a civil tongue in their heads. I would love to put these people in a fat suit for a few days and then give them a gun to finish themselves off - cos that's what they'd want to do after absorbing a bit of their own medicine!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Stay strong, y'all.

UrsulaBuffay · 08/06/2011 16:06

Aah yes, the hurting your insides with the sheer volume of food thing- I know it well! Have you read any of the Paul Mckenna thread? Not for me but I can see how it builds a better relationship with food.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/06/2011 17:34

Right I am about to compile the DoD list, any more takers??

I am not including myself today, i think weighing myself at a different time of day could be a catastrophe and will tell me a horrible truth only upset me!

Aah I bet bloofer is well fit. Laughing at being unable to turn left.
Vivienne Westwood hey ALpine. very fancy pants. I want one of her handbags!
I also fail at strict diets, I need to eat little nad often. I also like to have treats every now and then, I also wouldnt want to give up my beloved Gin and Tonics!

1/2 stone cheesy stickers to alpine, c4ro, mandalee, duckymum

duckymum · 08/06/2011 18:03

1lb off again here, which = miracle considering the restaurants / cafes / kids birthdays I have been to this week. But need to go faster - am never going to have got 30lb off by the time I go back to work (

mandalee · 08/06/2011 18:23

Ooh, half a stone? Really? Thanks for the sticker, Cheese - maybe I should switch to this stone thing after all! Grin

BlooferLady · 08/06/2011 18:45

Oh Muse you are so awfully nice, thank you, and I'm sorry for being daft, I truly wasn't asking for niceness or anything. And Pony too. Am sniggering at the turning left thing Grin. Shades of Zoolander. I am nothing like as pulchritudinous as they are leading you lot to believe, but...no, fuckit: yes. Yes, I really am uncommonly purty Grin Grin .

I think my meltdown up there demonstrates the random tyranny of the scales. I mean I was feeling all right before weigh-in. Then a number makes me feel like Quasimodo. I guess because I/we have absorbed this thing that it is not possible to be overweight and attractive, so you see the scales saying how overweight you are, ergo you MING HARD YOU MINGER.

Hurrah for all the losers on the list. It's good to see it all working. I too am tempted by such things as the Dukan diet, just to 'kick start', but I'm with Ursula on the whole appetite thing. That's why SW appeals to me but it also might be (ie, is Confused) why I'm not losing much, if at all...

I might not be posting much till Sunday cos i am now installed at the aged P's. My Ma is down with the whole SW thing so although I might not emerge three days' hence slender as a willow wand, I at least shouldn't be any fatter

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/06/2011 18:54

Bloofer not sure if my PM got to you as computer was being funny. Stop being so hard on yourself, it could just be water retention etc etc and you are under A LOT of stress at the moment. You have lost weight on SW before and you can do it again. Are you managing to exercise?

But I know what you mean about the fat=pig ugly. Ridiculous innit. Does anyone watch Americas next top model - tyra banks looks equally fine big and small. So, going by that one example, I reckon we are gawgeous fat or thin. And just remember the mantra "down is down is down" - you have overall lost a decent amount of weight. Chin up Bird!

BlooferLady · 08/06/2011 19:03

Hey Cheese - no, no PM, so thanks for this duckie :)

i think I'm embarrassed about being stressed, IYSWIM, so ignore that as a factor in anything (up to and including today's bouts of sobbing, which included Sainsbury's and the train Blush). I am doing almost no exercise. Chained the desk. although I have extracted a promise from my Dad that we'll have A Long Trudge tomorrow...

I think I need to listen to Lady Gaga 'Born This Way' - very cheering!

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/06/2011 19:12

Sent you a long msg, hmmm sorry about that. Don't despair. When I'm stressed about anything, any other hurdle seems huge and insurmountable so I can imagine doctorate plus trying to lose weight is hideous. Hope you can relax tonight, tomorrow is another day. big hug to you.

BlooferLady · 08/06/2011 19:25

Oh noes! Maybe it went to someone else and made them feel better about things. You are tres nice. And I like this thread. That is all

OP posts:
stargazer83 · 08/06/2011 21:49

Hey all just a quick flying visit. Well done to all the losersescpecialy bee thats a great loss. I hope your feeling a bit more chipper bloofer dont be embaressed about getting stressed we all do now and then and with so much pressure you have every right to be.

Diet wise I've been doing ok. After my excersize failure on monday I ended up reaching for the meringues but got straight back on the programn on tuesday instead of having a 3 or 4 day blow out before re starting.

Tues I had
B: fruit and fiber with semi skimmed milk
L: sw chips
D: baked bean and mushy pea curry with rice
Snacks: fruit and 1 bag crisps

Today
B: fruit and fiber with milk
L: 1 slice pizza salad blue cheese sauce
D: 12 speed soup with wholemeal roll
Snacks: fruit & yog and a vodka

I was out with my mum today and we ended up going to pizza hut for lunch and I was rather proud of myself. I just had 2 mini slices of Pizza which adds up to less than 1 normal slice and lots of salad. Normaly when I go to a buffet I go up for seconds or sometimes even 3rds not because I'm hungry but because its there. Today I managed to resist the urge and stopped when I was full.

Exercise wise I've fucked up. After mondays failure I tried the 30 day shred yesterday and it was a hard work out but I did it and was feeling rather proud of myself till I woke up this morning and can barely walk. I think I've pulled my quads because walking is so painfull, I'm even having to walk up/down stairs side ways because I dont have to bend my leg as much, getting up from a sitting position actualy leaves me with tears in my eyes.

kid · 08/06/2011 22:10

I went to an aerobics class tonight, it was bloody hard work but I'm improving slightly. I have noticed I am recovering from the exertion quicker now than I was 3 weeks ago so thats good progress.

I am also amazed that I can actually do the sit-ups now. I was pathetic at my first class, there were only 2 of us (me and cousin) that couldn't do the sit-ups. But 3rd class tonight and I'm keeping up with everyone else. I want to do them at home daily too so I can tone up my tummy quicker.

2lb to go for my first stone which I am pleased about. I am also back in my size 14 clothes (just about). Bet it takes weeks/months to get in my 12s that have been waiting patiently in the wardrobe for the past 3 years! But, the important thing is I'm going in the right direction.

Bootcamp tomorrow, God help me!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/06/2011 08:19

URgh early indications suggest I have gained a pound but I will confirm whe I have weighed myself in the nude and (hopefully) post poo in a bit.
So back on it with a vengeance today.

I'm also looking for some inspiration ladies! I have my entire family descendong on us this week, totalling 7 adults. Any idea what I can cook easily for this many..desperately want to avoid the takeaway option. I was planning on BBQ but that is definately out for fri/sat as the weather looks bad. Prob an option for Sunday. Maybe chilli one night and SW rogan josh another night? Any better ideas?

Today:
exercise:pilates
b:fruit and ff yog
l: tuna pasta salad
d: baked salmon and prawns with roasted veg

kid looking forward to posting your results with mine in a wee bit. Well done on the size 14s, and slightly jealous! Impressed with the sit ups too.

stargazer maybe start more gently wth the old exercise. You need it to be something you can do regularly, not once a week and kill yourself! I'm finding zumba and pilates fab - am 14 weeks post giving birth and they have been great, nice and gentle. AM so impressed with the tiny pizza, we ended up having a takeaway pizza last night due to a screaming baby, and I completely shovelled it it Shock

obrigada · 09/06/2011 10:55

Star 'baked bean and mushy pea curry with rice', sounds interesting, any chance of getting the recipe off you?

grinningbee · 09/06/2011 10:58

Morning all!

Cheese Sweet chilli chicken?
12 chicken thighs (just increase to suit)

Sauce made from 4 fl oz soy sauce
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
2 tbsp harissa powder (or paste)
4 cloves of garlic, crushed
Salt and pepper

Bung all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl. Lob chicken in and stir it to coat everything. Heat oven to 200 degrees. Put chicken in a single layer on a baking tray and cook for 25-30 minutes until done.

Ta-da!

1 serving is 3 chicken thighs and is only 1/2 a syn on red. Tis bloody tasty.

I am feeling pleased with the result this week, but can't get complacent. Need to keep treating every week like the first one.

I've been out to top up the fruit supplies, and went out before breakfast on the way back from taking dh to a job. Ended up eating grapes in the car in the supermarket carpark!

Todays food will be:

Grapes
Weetabix and a yogurt and a banana (I'm hungry!)
Toast with cheese triangles and an apple
Left over sweet chilli chicken and roasted veg

I made ricotta and spinach cannelloni yesterday. It was ok, but could have done with something else in the filling to jazz it up a bit.

mandalee · 09/06/2011 13:23
Smile
mandalee · 09/06/2011 13:24

Oh, forgot to add

Anyone know the symptoms of pneumonia? I feel shocking.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/06/2011 14:11

Yep :fevers, productive cough mostly. Get your GP to listen to your chest. Get well soon mandalee

For those dragging their feet onto yesterdays list:
cheese - start weight 13st 3lbs, gain this week 1lb. Total lost 7lbs
kid - loss 2lb this week, total weight loss 12lbs

BOOO to my weight gain, YAY to restarting again today good and proper

grinning bee thanks for the tip, will try it, sounds delish!

C4ro · 09/06/2011 15:17

Ooh, nice shiny sticker time!
I've been doing this for 9 weeks so a pretty steady 1 lb a week.
Sorry to hear of gains; new week, new leaf (of condemned Spanish salad maybe?...).

kid · 09/06/2011 17:07

I've got 10 minutes to get changed and to leave for the gym. I really don't want to go, I'm in pain from aerobics last night (busted my bloody ankle again) and i know tonight is also going to hurt. But, there is a chance it will help me reach my 1 stone loss hurdle. Better go and get ready I suppose!
