You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/06/2011 10:02

Oh god it took me 40 min to write that post and so many posts in the meantime! You lot are fast!

Muser · 01/06/2011 10:16

Congrats on the weight loss and hooray for getting started Bee.

So, this time last week I weighed 14st7lb. This time this week I weigh 14st 3.5lb. A weight loss of 3.5lb. Grin I am most happy.

C4ro · 01/06/2011 10:27

I have to report a 1lb gain this week. It's a fair cop guv- I had a weekend back in the UK involving Chinese, pub pies and chips, beers and wines. I borrowed my M+D house (they were in Wales at my cousins) and met a mate I have known since we were very small to go round our old haunts. She lives in Chicago now with a 2 year old DD so we have minimal chances to meet up now. Wonderful fun. Also we learned a lesson- decided on a whim to head to Twycross zoo in the afternoon, thinking just for an hour before they closed. They wanted 60 quids entry fee! Not paying that, so we just sat in their mammon emporium and had a coffee. Close shave as both kids are too small to have really picked up on the "we're going to the zoo" promises- we might have been forced to pay up if they were a bit older.

stinky sorry to hear you're in the dumps. Also hoping your DH is making the right decision regarding the PhD. My FIL never got to PhD as he submitted but his reviewer told him it needed a couple more weeks of work and since he had a job offer and a holiday planned he didn't bother. On the positive side, it has certainly not impacted his career/ life/ future but two of his three sons are PhD now and I think he does sometimes feel a bit daft that, just for the sake of skipping a holiday and a tiny bit more graft, he would be too.

Alps Mini-wild strawbs You are not kidding about the swiffer-kid! When DD first started crawling I was quite horrified at how much fluff and dirt she picked up. Luckily the guilt passed and I haven't upped my housekeeping game (or started playing, morelike).

Bloofer I hope you will be wearing a hat or at least an Audrey Hepburn scarf for your day trip out. I'm imagining straw boaters and picnic baskets too. Do tell us where you go; vicarious living on others fun times is great for the soul.

Hedgepig Is fruit ryvita something new I didn't see before with fruits baked into it or do you add the fruit yourself?

I will try hard for a catch up week this week. The food/ canteen options here at work are very Austrian- it is big cooked hanks of meat with dumplings for main course and dumplings with fruit in for puddings. I will have to start doing my own lunches as 4 days of that will do much worse than +1lb a week to me.

C4ro · 01/06/2011 10:30

Congrats to cheese and muser on those results. Excellent work.

VeraNofftopic · 01/06/2011 10:30

Well done on the losses, boo hisses to the gains.

Ursula here had to NC.

I am so fucking fucked off, I am starting today so can weigh in on weds with you all, but along with having no oven I now have no fridge cos the fucker's stopped working and the new one has to go back so I had to cancel my big SW friendly tesco shop.

So I will probably eat easter eggs for a week and cry. FFS.

Starting at 12st 6, aiming for 10st7. Gah!

BlooferLady · 01/06/2011 10:32

Oh wowzers, well done Musical - I suspect that's you topping the Big Fat List!

C4ro I fear I shall let you down - it ain't gonna be that glam Blush. We are going to potter around Camden, wander up the canal eating ice cream, buy some vintage stuff, eat Japanese food, have a pint in the sun, and take home some deli goodies for tea tonight. In my world that counts as about as Happy as a Day gets Grin. I shall however be wearing my 50s circle-skirted shirt dress out of sheer unalloyed glee that the bastard thing fits!

Sorry about your gain - but at least you knew from whence it came! I repeat my mantra of 'easy on, easy off'...

BlooferLady · 01/06/2011 10:35

Hello '''''''Vera'''''. Sorry about the NC - everything all right luvva?

And BOO HISS to your troubles. What a vile week. Have this red velvet cupcake some quark on a dry slice of toast Grin.

OP posts:
VeraNofftopic · 01/06/2011 10:38

Haha, yes I just have left the lappy around with myself logged in & would rather DH had to do some proper stalking if he had to rather than give him it on a plate

I am having one shitter of a week, so wahey lets start a diet eh?!

Quark eh? I dream of quark & all things refrigerated! Twill be beans and egg and smelly farts for me.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 01/06/2011 12:23

I haven't been on here for a while, because I haven't had a good week at all, as far as eating sensibly is concerned. SadBlush I didn't manage to eat breakfast today either, so now I am ravenous, and wondering what to have for my lunch - considering a bacon sandwich.....

VeraNofftopic · 01/06/2011 12:28

have a bacon buttie - a no fat, no fun one. syn ketchup, h/e the bread if you have suitable.

I'm having v odd concoction of potatoes, tomatoes & bacon fried in frylight & marmite with beans on the side. Is edible.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 01/06/2011 12:39

Ooh - I'm liking the sound of your lunch, Vera! I have cold new potatoes, and tomatoes in the fridge as well as the bacon, so I think I will give that a go.

But first I probably ought to stop being such a lazy mare go and have a shower and get dressed! I've been having a lovely morning in my pink, fluffy dressing gown. Blush

obrigada · 01/06/2011 12:50

If you haven't had brekkie yet SDTG then it might be a good idea to eat before you get dressed especially if your energy is low today!

VeraNofftopic · 01/06/2011 12:52

It was alright actually, I like marmite on potatoes before cooking them but not on toast, also tis free! I'd have had mushrooms in too if I had any that weren't rotting from fridge misery

UrsulaBuffay · 01/06/2011 13:36

Oh I've changed back now, bollocks to DH

AlpinePony · 01/06/2011 14:34

Are any of you old enough to remember watching "The Witches of Eastwick"? I ate some cherries and was reminded of a certain scene... :(

grinningbee · 01/06/2011 14:50

They haven't made you sick have they Alpine?

I remember it (I'm older than you). Good film Smile

C4ro · 01/06/2011 14:55

Oh boy Alps, is this one of the side effects of the band tightening? Hope you're getting enough fluids and that it stops soon.

AlpinePony · 01/06/2011 15:00

bee I think it was actually my 2nd VHS! Grin Fab, awesome film! I wanted to be all the best bits of Cher, Susan Sarandon - these days, perhaps with the fertility of Michelle Pfeiffer! Wink To this day I have a massive Cher crush! Blush

c4ro Yep, unfortunately. Bought all these gorgeous cherries last night and my eyes are unfortunately bigger (literally) than my belly right now. Because my stomach is so "small" and the food takes some time to pass through the band, if the level goes up in to the oesophagus it triggers the reflex - you don't want to be doing it when you're driving! Shock

mandalee · 01/06/2011 16:33

Hi all. Miserable round here, got a nasty cold and just feel like getting horizontal (in an utterly sin-free way). Best buddy today is my trusty box of tissues. Gawd, I hate being sick. Sad

Haven't even weighed myself, 'cos I'm not sure my fragile self could take bad news right now (plus, I had brekky before I remembered, and I superstitiously MUST weigh first thing in the am on an empty stomach)...

The silver lining is that when I can't smell anything, my appetite goes bye-bye. Hmmm... clothespin on nose as diet aid? Hmm

Good going on all you rippin' losers!

mandalee · 01/06/2011 16:35

Oh, and I got a parking ticket taking my son to the dentist's.

AND I accidentally found an email address I didn't recognise on the iPad, so I'm worried and upset. And hubby won't be home to confront ask about it until late, so I'll have to stew over it till tomorrow.

Sad Sad Sad

ta cheese

bloody hell Alps, good going! I am going to lose 3st this week by starving cos of the fooking kitchen sitch.

stinkypinky · 01/06/2011 19:28

I was tempted to lose 17st this week, but I decided he could stay Grin

Well done all, and thank you C4ro for keeping me company on the naughty step.

DH was doing an English Literature type PHD. The door is completely shut now, and I think he has made the right decision as he was so unhappy, even with antidepressants. He is now looking into being a Priest Confused So long as he still does really naughty things to me in bed, I really do not mind.

Back on the Plan now Smile

Muser · 01/06/2011 19:38

If it's for the best for him then that's good stinky, but oof it must be difficult for him and you.

Huge congrats on the weight loss Alps you super star.

I hurt so much from my fitness class yesterday. I can barely stand up/sit down due to the evil squats and lunges we did. Ow ow ow.
