You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

Can't you have an actual chocolate bar for 5.5 syns? I say this as someone who is spending ridiculous syns on fecking pouring yogurt because it would be wasteful to chuck it out.

So far today has been: muesli & yogurt (2xHEB, 4 syns), an apple, Alpen Light (half a HEB - I get extra HEs, hence why I am consuming so many), chilli with low fat yog and cheese (HEA), half a homemade lamb burger (strange snack), 2 scoops proper Italian gelato (I actually threw half of it away as the man gave me a monster portion and I just couldn't eat it).

Exercise is 1 x 1.5 hour walk for to encourage sleeping in baby. And 1 x 2 hour walk for to do the same. That 2 hour one included hills and was done with an 11lb baby strapped to me so I consider it full on cross training.

Still don't know what dinner is going to be. At this rate something I probably shouldn't have.

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 16:49

A curly wurly is 6.5 syns Muse, and lasts a surprisingly long time accompanied by a cuppa.

I'm trying to get my head round the idea of throwing away icecream...nope...not getting very far with it Grin especially given the exercise you did!

What a long thread, but I'm going to join in anyway Grin

I started SW at home on my own 3 weeks ago, today was my 3rd WI and to date, I have lost 10lb so I am guessing I am doing it right!
I'm more than happy to join in here and gain or share some ideas with everyone else, (thats if you don't mind of course.)

Hedgepig · 30/05/2011 19:15

hello, back home from chilly wet Norfolk, the garden needs the rain though I suppose.
Pony I so love your food lists they sound delicious.
Hi Kid well done on your weight loss so far.
Muser some of the fun size bars choc bars are less than 5.5 syns but then they only come in multi packs and so the rest will be calling from the cupboard Sad

Today was a EE day but due to a cheese roll incident at lunch time will now be a green day.

B. 2 x weetabix (HeB) and a splash of milk (HeA). Strawberries, grapes and low fat yoghurt (cheat of the other part of the HeA cos I won't drink 250ml in a week let alone 1 day)
L. Omelet with peppers and red onion, baked potato and beans AND small wholemeal roll with cheddar (HeB & HeA)
D. some sort of veggie curry with rice
snacks - weetabix oaty bar (3.5 syns), fruit
OH and bugger I put some margarine on the sodding roll (2 syns?? for a tsp) and 2 boiled sweets in the car (3 syns)

actually the bread roll really reinforces for me that once you have bread you want to put "stuff" on it and then before you know it you have blown your syns for the day. One of the big changes i have made to my diet since being on SW is that I don't really have bread at all any more.

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 19:24

Hello hedge, smashing to see you! Where were you in Norfolk? The Highlands aside, it's purty much my favourite place. I also had to re-do my day owing to a honey toast incident. Ho hum. You're so right about bread. It's just a vehicle for more goodness syns.

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 19:27

Oh hi there Kid, didn't see you there - you're obviously getting so slim you're difficult to spot :) Welcome! Wednesdays are our Days of Doom (tm). All secrets of slender success welcomed!

Hedgepig · 30/05/2011 19:52

we were near Blakeney Bloof unfortunately DS2 (2 3/4 yrs) fell asleep in the car on the way back and so is not sleep and does not want to go to bed.

Speaking of honey i had some of that on the yoghurt and fruit this morning too, I really need to write these syns down at the time. I think unless I'm careful I will start going backwards, I've lost my 1st 2 stone and I'm starting to get a bit sloppy with keeping track of what I've eaten. Confused

I have also one totally mad and agreed to do a 50 mile cycle next Sunday, I am absolutely not anywhere near fit enough to do it, I could well expire Shock

Muser · 30/05/2011 19:57

I see bread mainly as a butter delivery device. When on the SW thing I tend to substitute for dairylea triangles. Or just skip it.

Well, as predicted main meal was a good old fall off the wagon. I finally had that pizza. Ah well. I have buggy fitness tomorrow (don't laugh) so that ought to help.

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 20:01

Oh Oh Hedge that's one of my bestest places! I'm well jel.

the syn thing - I wouldn't keep up with it all if i didn't boringly and obsessively post them all on here throughout the day. Time Will Tell if it's working

Am laughing at butter delivery device and buggy fitness!

Cooooeeeee....I'm back! And with additional poundage but for a good cause as I think I may have just eaten and drank Spain out of recession. I hope they appreciate my sacrifice on their behalf. Apologies to anyone struggling to get a decent bottle of rioja. I fear I've drank the lot. Not to mention the sangria. Or the fish bowls of g&t. Despite my best intentions to do lots of swimming and walking, my exercise didn't extend much beyond turning over on my lounger and a bit of bedroom gymnastics. I have no remorse whatsoever

I see you lot have been busy. I'll try to go back and read properly as I've just skimmed through the posts so congrats to the losers and commiserations to anyone who has had a less than saintly week/fortnight (i.e. me!). And welcome to the Newbies, especially SDTG...I know it seems like a long road ahead but you can do it. Honest you can. I was nearly 3 stone heavier than your starting weight when I had my wake up call and I've managed to shed 6 stone of it (it was closer to 6 and a half until my sacrifice to aid Spain's economic crisis). Just need a hefty kick up the arse to shift another 6

Bloof How goes the dissertation? Is Fish still with us? Just wondering how the job hunting is going for her?

So, I shall swerve the scales this week as I know the damage I've and give myself a week to get back to work and back into my healthy eating and gym routine. I'm also having the period from hell and I reckon that might be skewing the numbers a bit so I'm hoping to be generally back on an even keel by next week

duckymum · 30/05/2011 20:32

Evening All

Well, disastrous bank holiday weekend in terms of any thing that might encourage weight loss.
Went out to celebrate anniversary last night and ate 3 courses, a good portion of a bottle of wine, and a cocktail. I may have been saved marginally by having a delicious steak which came with bearnaise sauce that tasted like it had been made with very cheap and slightly off butter; was a great disappointment and I didn't eat much. (Sauce that is - I ate the steak!) So I was spared the extra calories from that. But in addition to all the other naughtiness I think I may have just undone all last week's good work.

And just when I thought I was going to get to an aquafit class I have been meaning to get to for months tomorrow - it appears the in-laws will be here, so I may not make it after all. Unless I just go and leave them to their own devices. Doubt that 35 mins aquatic jiggling could right the wrongs in time for DoD though.

Hello to all the inspiring new people doing well.

I will be back on track tomorrow!

weblette · 30/05/2011 20:45

Sod Free stuff, have had gallons of prosecco. Not particularly virtuous but feels damn good. Off to bed night night!

Hedgepig · 30/05/2011 22:08

Wine Wine web
I just had a Becks, can't have curry without beer can you??

BlooferLady · 31/05/2011 07:18

Fuck! Welcome back! It sounds like you had the most marvy time. I don't hold with restraint on high days and holidays. Isn't this all about working out how to eat for the rest of our lives - and I sure as fuck aren't going to be dieting on hols or at Christmas until i shuffle off this mortal coil, so I don't intend to start now . Fast on fast off though, right, so hopefully if you have gained a lb or so it'll be gone before you can say FryLight.

And yes Staying, where are you old bean? Hope to see you here soon :)

Dissertation plodding on, ta - I think about it every waking moment and to be honest while sleeping. But the end's in view, and it ain't as if I'm a bleeding coal miner or similar, so just trying to crack on with it.

Ducky am well jel of your lovely meal out -congrats on l'anniversaire! Bah to the bearnaise but as you say, it saves some cals, non?!

RIGHT. Food today. I don't hold out great hopes for tomorrow's DoD as I am fully pre-mentrual and have giant inflated boobs . Extra Easy for me (and I am trying to eat more hearty breakfasts to avert toast-related incidents mid-morning, like yesterday):

B - toast, scrambled egg, mushroom (HEB)
L - not sure yet, but if i can persuade the OM to do some shopping, jacket spud with tuna and sweetcorn
D - Singapore noodles with prawns, fruit salad

I will have my HEA cheese with some grapes as a snack when I get peckish.

Good luck to all as the Doom Approacheth!

Morning all!

So today is day one. Starting with a red day and will be having:

Weetabix
Laughing cow triangles on toast
Sweet chilli chicken (from the SW magazine) with roasted veg.

Got some fruit and yogurt too. Did all the shopping yesterday and can't believe how much the Muller yogurts have gone up, so got a different sort!

Dd is currently stuffing cereal down the inside of her vest, so had better go.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 31/05/2011 08:21

Oh crap another bad day yesterday. Friends came over having holidayed in France, armed with cheese and wine. Nuff said.

Dreading weds now.
Today I will ONLY eat:
b: fruit and yog and bran (heb)
l: prawn salad or tuna jacket
d: spaghetti & meatballs

I will remain syn free. Exercise is mum and baby yoga (barely exercise but hey)
welcome back fuck hol sounds fab!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 31/05/2011 08:23

Hi bee your food looks good! Tres bien. ML yogs are so expensive, agree.I just use fayfree nat yog and fruit. Much better for you and cheaper!

AlpinePony · 31/05/2011 08:54

You will all be delighted to hear that this morning I did my first poo since Wednesday. This should help with the downwards trajectory. Grin

B: Greek yoghurt & fresh strawbs (no honey mummy)
L: Cous-cous same as yesterday - made a big batch. How do you make cous-cous for 1? Why bother? Must be good though - even the boyfriend managed a weeny bit last night.
D: I don't know! SEX ROCK & ROLL & DRUCKS (I hope).

I'm feeling all giddy & excited today.

grinningbee · 31/05/2011 08:58

Thanks Cheese

We won't mention the goodbye foodfest last night - steak, very naughty m&s wedges and one of their very very bad chocolatey puds with half a bottle of wine Blush

Grin
grinningbee · 31/05/2011 09:05

I got dh to take a couple of piccies of me yesterday so I can see how I do.

Just looked at them now.

Oh.My.God.

I knew there was a reason I hate my piccy being taken. Anyway, enough from me for now!

Alpine it sounds as if you are on a post poo high. Always a good feeling when you do a good'un, especially after that long! Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 31/05/2011 09:42

Ooh alpine we're poo buddies! I've finally poo'ed too. Hurt like hell but relieved!
Mildly hungover today, must stick to diet and not have tea and toast!

mummynoseynora · 31/05/2011 11:29

'ello all Grin

I lost you for a few days, but found you again!!!

right... well... eating has been pretty S.H.I.T.E for the long weekend, BUT Dh and I were both off with the kids for the first time in forever, so we have been out and about every day - LOTs of walking and have managed to keep my exercise going - managed 5 sessions in a week 3 x shred, 2 x run - and another today at lunch at work (if I can make myself get off my arse)

kid · 31/05/2011 15:04

LOL @ poo buddies Cheese and Alpine.
DS went to the toilet this morning while having a chat to his friend on Xbox live headphones. He even told his friend where he was!

Been shopping this morning, got loads of yummy, healthy food! Muller Lights are on offer in Morrisons, £2 for 6 but or £3 for 12 (I think) So I got 12 and will ban everyone else from eating them. I also got some curly wurlys for me plus some extra fruit that I never buy (cherries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, pineapple and the usualy pieces of fruit) That should keep me going for now.

I'm cooking the spinach and cottage cheese canelloni for dinner tonight, no-one else will eat it just because of the cottage cheese which is fine by me, as there will be extra for me!
This months magazine has a lot of nice looking recipes in there. I also got some coconut milk to make the chicken curry but it wasn't reduced fat. I wonder how bad that will be syn wise?

I didn't get home till 2 and was starving by then so my quick lunch was a mushroom and tomato omelette. It filled the hole but I hate tomatoes so much.

A relative said I have lost loads of weight Smile I did tell her I'd lost 10lb but she reckons it looks more. Some people are so lovely!

weblette · 31/05/2011 15:31

Excellent news Pony - every little helps...

Liking your relative kid, what a nice thing to say!

Well I am a well-sticker girl today, 2.5 off which got me Slimmer of the Week and Slimmer of the Month Grin. Another half and I'll have got my first stone. If I keep up the running etc - was at the gym this am - it should help.

Best of luck ladies for your Days of Doom!

obrigada · 31/05/2011 16:09

Today is my DOD so why oh why is today the day I am as constipated as f..k Hmm
