You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

The Scary Book was Melmoth the Wanderer. It contained pretty much the worst depravities, both psychological and physical, you can possibly imagine. Including two lovers being immured in a monastery and being starved to death and the man going crazy-A bonkers and trying to eat his lover while she was still alive starting, crucially, with her breast.

Nice one.

Cheese I am already in the corner trying to bollock myself.

I need to exercise. If I exercise, I will not sabotage my healthy eating as I am at the moment. I have lost nearly 2 stone, and feel so much better that I have lost that initial desperation that gets us going in the first place.

Is it ok to use a cross trainer with a slightly fucked knee? (ligament damage I think)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 29/05/2011 20:41

Hmmm bloody weddings with their free booze and yummy food.

Hmmm you might be better with swimming and other low impact activites stink. try crosstraining and if it hurts then stop.
Will be back on it with a venganxe 2mw. Will go to the gym tomorrow to counteract some of my naughtiness

BlooferLady · 29/05/2011 21:02

Dunno what a venganxe is but it sounds bloody sharp Grin

Sorry about your lack of motivation Stink. I have been there before - indeed, that is why I'm here now Hmm - I got down to a 14/16, and having been a 22/24 I felt fucking great, like Kylie in her gold pants (I know, right?!), and took my eyes off the prize. If I'm ever lucky enough to be feeling like that again I will go shopping for tiny strapless dresses and skinny jeans and reduce myself to miseries, so as to get the desperation motivation back. Would that work for you? It sounds like I'm being daft but honestly I'm not.

Cross-trainer - always suits me: my knees aren't damaged tho, just displeased at carrying the extra weight. I too vow to get off my arse and get to the gym tomorrow. So we shall expect a meeting to discuss this time tomorrow, no? If we can avoid falling over like Pony

Bloof: Eeeeeeewwwww.

Stink: Sounds weenie, but try zero-impact water aerobics, which is great for 2 reasons: 1) the water hides a multitude of syns Smile - including when you fuck up the rhythm/step/etc, which I always do; and 2) the elderly ladies in the class are so very lovely and will pass you floaties, etc. and you can always reassure yourself that even if they're smaller, you're YOUNGER, and you can lose weight Grin

And, it's harder than it looks - if you do the moves correctly, you WILL sweat.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 30/05/2011 07:12

Venganxe hey? Bloody iPhone and predictive text.

Right it's a new day, time to push the weekend to the back of my mind and start afresh!
Menu de jour:
b: grapefruit, branflakes (heb) and ff nat yog
l: mackerel salad
d: chicken casserole

exercise: gym sesh 45 min
bloof dear god, what a storyline. I read lord of the rings as a teenager and found it so scary I put it in the freezer!

Aqua aerobics is a good idea!

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 07:29

Thinking about it, a vengeanxe sounds like a weapon in LOTR Grin! Am laughing at your putting it in the freezer. Reminds me of when I read The Omen at home alone as a teenager - my Mum came home from work to find me sitting on the kitchen floor: I'd been there for about 2 hours, scared to go to the rest of the house!

Right, here's today's food - I am going to try and have a couple of very low syn days ahead of the DoD, cos what with the water retention I fear disaster.

B - stewed apple and yogurt (HEB and 2 syns for the honey)
L - wholemeal pasta with roast tomato sauce and feta (HEA)
D - I'm going to make the chicken pho from the new SW mag - that is my excitement for the day!

Fruit and yogurt as desserts and snacks.

I'll also walk to Sainsbo's which is only 1.5 miles but better than a poke in the eye. The gym is closed today cos of bank holibob. RUBBISH!

mandalee · 30/05/2011 08:28

Umm, cheese - I've heard of freezing credit cards into ice blocks, but what good does it do to put a book in the freezer? Hmm

AlpinePony · 30/05/2011 09:46

stinky The x-trainer is the recommended apparatus for those with fucked knees because of the eliptical movement - just make sure your legs are not "splitting" too far iyswim. Because there's no "bounce" associated with the movement it's supposed to be good. Are you able to go to any gym classes? BodyPump and BodyBalance are both knee friendly.

BabesandJugs · 30/05/2011 10:23

Oh Ladies, you are so amusing - i think i'm going to like it here! Thanks Weblette Wink

Well as it's moving week the diet ahem plan is not going well (rolls eyes!!)

Unless you count Soft Luscious White Buttery bread with gorgeous award winning Tomato Sausages from the butcher, followed by copious amounts of Sauvignon Blanc in the evening (well a girl must relax) along with a large and somewhat longed for bag of Chocolate Raisins (healthier than a huge slab of chocolate surely??)

Today and tomorrow are not looking fabulous food wise - the children are sorted as off to my parents for the night this evening, and we've already prepared a homemade chorizo and sweetcorn pizza for them for dinner - all other food is packed - apart from Melon and Mango but i doubt i'll grab for that! Hmm And i doubt it will do after todays shananigans of dismantling beds and shifting boxes ready for tomorrow!

I had a huge butcher delivery end of last week and our chest freezer is brimming with meatyness but i've just packed all the kitchenware - so it'll be toast or fish and chips tonight i suppose - and i've not had fish and chips for over a year. I know i'll be regretting the grease as soon as it touches my hips Lips!

And tomorrow - ha, food on the run! Shock

I think i'll just go with whatever and be back to a 'good girlie' at the end of the week.

See you Thursday onwards Darlings!

obrigada · 30/05/2011 10:56

Morning everyone:) Well had a weekend of self-destruction, both food wise and wine wise! So am back in the game today, so far I have had scrambled egg on toast for brekkie, a banana and an orange for snack, and lunch is baked potato, tuna, and side salad. Going to have to put in some effort today and tomorrow before DOD to counteract the damage I inflicted over the weekend [hmm[]

AlpinePony · 30/05/2011 11:04

B: greek yog, blueberries, raspberries, honey
L: cous-cous (a la bloof) avec les poivres, ail, champignons et oignons grille. Sun-dried toms, fresh toms, olive oil, pine-nuts, japanese spinach and a few bits of roast chicken breast.

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 11:24

Whoopsie, that's torn it Hmm

I get up so bloody early that by the time 11am comes I've not eaten for 4 hours. Just inhaled delicately snacked on 2 slices of weeny toast with honey. That is fully 10 syns Shock!

That takes me to 12 syns for today, so I had best pull up my socks, stat.

As always, I want Pony's food Envy

weblette · 30/05/2011 11:28

Hmm think I may have to move to Pony's house...

Morning all!

Have been v good this weekend and even managed to avoid nibbling on ds1's deeeeelish Choc Chip Brownies. Bless him, he takes himself off to the kitchen with my Mary Berry Baking Bible and gets cooking!

Taking the boys to YoSushi for lunch today, it's our usual holidays treat. Don't think it'll be too high in Syns, the straight rice and fish stuff is Free in theory...

Can't go too mad with weigh-in tomorrow...

zookeeper · 30/05/2011 12:08

Helloo ladies. Can I join in? Am a gumpy old woman who looks like a sofa at the moment -weighing in at a lardsome 13 10 and a half down from 14 12 on 2nd March when I joined Slimming world.

I'm looking for recipes - If eat another Activia fat free yoghurt I will die of boredom. Am currently cooking a lot of SW quiche too which is beginning to pall.

I have three dc, 9,7 and 7 who are with their noisome nob of a father until 5pm tomorrow so am making the most of the peace .

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 12:13

'Allo Zookeeper :)

You had me at 'noisome nob'

OP posts:
zookeeper · 30/05/2011 12:16

lol.Plenty more where that came from, Bloomer. Not that I'm bitter, as well as fat....Grin

zookeeper · 30/05/2011 12:21

Sorry. Bloofer, not Bloomer. Thaq was me thinking of white warm crusty bread. with butter....

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 12:31

I quite like Bloomer, except it made me think of voluminous white knickers!

ARGH I keep eating things that are norty ! I definitely just ate 2oz cheese, and I have run out of Frylight so put olive oil on my pasta. I am going to have to change to a green day, so that the extra bread and cheese are HEs.

This means I've eaten B: HEB stewed fruit + 2 syns for honey, Snack HEB bread + 4 syns for spread & honey, L HEA cheese x 2 + 2 syns for oil.

I have therefore had 8 syns and have to eat free food and superfree food tonight on a green day. Any ideas welcome!

OP posts:
Muser · 30/05/2011 13:00

Curry. Vegetable curry, chickpea or lentil daal and rice. Nom.

I'm having leftover chilli for lunch and don't know about dinner. Or I may go out for lunch and have the chilli for dinner. All depends on whether I need to take the baby out for another big walk immediately or if I can have lunch first.

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 13:31

Ooo good call Muse - I fancy lentil daal and an egg on top. Toot toot!

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 30/05/2011 14:17

Oh muser, I have dahl-envy now. Envy I'm going to make some this week. He hates curry - so I will make it for me, so strong it'll make me ovulate twice! It's one of those things which is really hard to get wrong too.

I know some people (bloofer) love measuring and searing and flambeing and the like. I like to throw things in a pot, set to simmer and return in 2 hours.

Dahl is very band friendly too and I actually have ghee from my last visit to the UK - can it possibly beat a pound of butter though? Blush

Bloomers - ah yes. Possibly the reason my 15 year old arse expanded the way it did. Hot, doughy Canadian loaves slathered with salty butter. Who was to know that sort of thing is absolutely lethal to the insulin-resistant arse-growers? :(

obrigada · 30/05/2011 14:26

Wow, ye are all very imaginative in the kitchen, cooking not my strong point, so very plain and boring stuff for me :(

BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 16:07

Well looks like I won't be having dahl after all - talk about shilly-shallying. The OM is cooking some stuffed peppers from the SW mag.

I can't think about hot white buttered bread without feeling slightly tearful. Please stop it Grin

Ob have you got any of the SW recipes? They do have some nice ideas.

On another note, Sainbo's were selling some new low fat Shape desserts, in white chocolate and caramel. Has anyone got a syn value for them??? I didn't get any in case they're 8 or 9 syns or summat.

OP posts:
BlooferLady · 30/05/2011 16:09

Oh, hold yer horses - 5.5 syns. I think if I'm having that many syns I'll use it for cheese or chocs rather than an artificial dessert. . .
