You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

Muser · 28/05/2011 08:23

You need to drink Bloofer. Drink lots and lots of water, then you will pee more and get rid of the retained stuff.

AlpinePony · 28/05/2011 08:38

bloofer The band is going as expected. I didn't chew my strawberries last night and they came back up but I'm not getting hunger pains and I'm taking my vitamins like a good girl. I've not done any "real" exercise yet so time will tell.

BlooferLady · 28/05/2011 08:49

Glad you're not getting hungry. I now appoint myself Vitaminfinder General and am going to keep asking about them . We can't have you getting poorly.

Thanks Muse - I do try and sink a litre of water on top of my pints of herbal poo tea, so I'll carry on doing similar. Bloody PMT! I swear, when I was really overweight (I mean even more really really overweight) my tummy would get so bloated I practically had to carry it round in a wheelbarrow!

weblette · 28/05/2011 10:28

Morning all, sorry haven't been around - the last week before half-term is always manic. Two sports days, one cancelled though, packing dh and dd off to France for a few days, plus all the usual shoite.

Hello Muser!

Great to see all the losses this week, well done Ducky and Hedge!
I don't expect to get anywhere near this week's loss next week.

Bloofer gah to PMT, I really struggle in the last bit of my cycle. My sugar levels seem to go loopy so I want to eat tons of sweet stuff. Seem to have staved it off with fruit this month but I don;t know how long that'll last. I also get horrific mood swings which really don't help but the delights of fluid retention.

Have a lovely weekend Cheese. Can't think when I last stayed in somewhere 5*! Taking my 4 anywhere means a) we have to get somewhere cheap as we end up getting two rooms and b) there's less stuff in the rooms for them to wreck!
The 'taking babies out' bit sounds rather Bridezilla... Oh to see them when they've had their first Hmm

Only - we're doing that in July, off to South Uist! Hope you have a fab and quiet(!) time.

Obrigada :( It's horrid when you get the munchies after a bad day.I'm trying to change what I nibble when I have a snack attack - Carr's water biscuits and Tic Tacs have done the job this week, we'll see what effect that has on Tuesday!

Some scrummy recpies folks, thanks! I bought the EE cookbook as a treat - yes I really know how to live Grin - so will try some of the recipes this week.
Have also started running - for some mad reason I've agreed to do a 10k in September to keep a friend company. Yikes! It will probably kill me...

weblette · 28/05/2011 10:31

Forgot to say...
Hope the band settles Pony
C4ro - don't you just hate people like that. She does bring to mind the glorious phrase from Working Girl - which was on last night - about 'boney butts' Grin

BabesandJugs · 28/05/2011 15:25

Hellooo Hellooo Hellooo

Well thanks to weblette i have found my way across to this thread Grin and am hoping to join you all !

I've been doing SW on and off for a few years now and know it back to front most probably but life has been getting in the way and i've been falling off and getting back on the wagon as they say ever since having my son who is now just over 2! We're moving house over the next week, so have left my old SW group as moving out of the area! Then i'll be looking for a new one - to get out and about more than anything in our new area as i know i could do it alone! Ideally i could do with losing 4 stone Blush My major downfalls are wine and cheese, along with the nights when i just cannot be bothered and a pizza calls me! That or crusty white bread with cheese, cheese and more cheese (not to mention olives, sundried tomatoes and yummy continental blummin meats!) Hmm

Once we move i am determined as i got to my lowest weight for years about a month ago - but then with the stress we've been under i just had a what the hell attitude i even stopped buying myself wholemeal bread and just gorged on Cheese on White Buttery Toast when i felt like it - oh the shame!!

Aaaaanyway i'm babbling

BlooferLady · 28/05/2011 17:00

Welcome Babe :) Ah, your weaknesses all sound tres delicieux

Forgive me doomers for I have synned! I had 1 tsp sesame oil on my stir-fry (2), and I have bought a Curly Wurly for later (6.5). This together with the tbsp honey (2) on my breakfast is a total daily syn of 10.5

Do forgive my insane controllingness this week. It's really helping tho. I mean. Those weeks when I wasn't losing, and didn't write anything down, I reckon I was eating maybe 25 syns a day, easy peasy. Silly cow!

I have bought some Water Balance to try and stave off a bloated DoD. We'll see if it works

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 28/05/2011 17:08

Welcome babes - I do love myself a little cheese-muffin. When I first moved to Brussels I was in cheese heaven - sandwiched between france & the netherlands.

bloof Can you shove half the curly-wurly down the side of the bin underneath the coffee grains/fag ends & slop?

I have been out for a lovely ride on my ickle horsey - and come home to hear "the baby didn't like his dinner". Huh? Turns out, my somewhat brililant boyfriend thought the "baby-sized" meal in the fridge was in fact for the baby. Turns out the baby didn't like really, really, really spicey indonesian! Hmm Nob.

weblette · 28/05/2011 17:12

Dh and dd are in northern France for the weekend so might get them to obring back some of the 'light' versions of Bire and Camembert, they're made by Bridelight and actually taste rather good - they're all under 10% fat...

weblette · 28/05/2011 17:15

Pony - oh joy! Just think of the nappy you'd have had if the baby had kliked it...

Hello Babes, glad I could help - these ladies are lovely :) My youngest is 3 so I reckoned the baby weight should come off now!

Curlywurlys don't count in my book, the holes counteract the calories....

weblette · 28/05/2011 17:24

WTF has happened to my keyboard - apologies for the ropiness of my spelling!

Hedgepig · 28/05/2011 18:43

I love the curly wirrlry and holes comment web
We are in Norfolk for the weekend, the diet is not going well at all. Last night when we got here I HAD to have toast, wine, a penguin biscuit an a choc chip cookie in the space of 20 mins . Today I made DH stop the car to have coffee and cake (it was banana so thats quite healthy I suppose)

Hi babes

Pony your OH is not really firing on cylinders there is he?

BlooferLady · 29/05/2011 07:58

Yup, Curly Wurlies are mostly air and carrot cake is one of your five a day Grin. The Doomers have spoken.

I just did a mid-week weigh in and have lost half a lb (if that). Since i have been ever so well behaved I am trying not to get into a strop, but blame it on the PMT (perfectly reasonable - my boobs are ouchy, and I have days of this). I will take my Water Balance, drink litres of fluid, and get to the gym and the sauna tomorrow and Tuesday in the hope I can get another lb off by the Day of Doom (tm). It doesn't help that I really am very sedentary at the moment but them's the breaks when you're studying really. I shall force myself out for a long walk later today. I suppose .

Today's fooooooooood (EE day), once again made strange by the OM's night shift:

B - stewed apple and yoggit (HEB + 2 syns for honey)
L - beef & potato hot pot, fruit salad
d - courgette & prawn stew thing, yoggit

I have a Curly Wurly waiting as a post-study treat - 6.5 syns (total of 8.5 for the day).

Hope y'all are having good weekends!

AlpinePony · 29/05/2011 08:05

bloofer I bet you took my suggestion and threw away the half with the holes in. Wink I totally agree though, if I've got a very busy day at work the most exercise I do is to and fro the coffee machine. I wore a pedometer yesterday though and did 5000 steps which is nowhere near enough but it's much better than on my "busy working" days. Plus my hour horseriding of course.

hedgepig I don't know what he was thinking. Hmm

Right, I need to feed the baby spicy Thai weetabix & banana, then I'm off to the gym. Home, The Sechs (for TTC purposes), horseriding, sofa, sleep, death.

Menu:
B: greek yog, berries & honey
L: 3 x tiny crispbreads, one with philly (low-fat ugh :( - not me, he did the shopping), 2 with peppered pate
D: sausage, mash, onions
Will also make a smoothie to try and get rid of organic box stuff.

weblette Forget the low-fat shit, it's full of 'orrible things. Savour the flavour with fat. Seriously, the only low-fat cheeses which are any good at all are the really, really aged ones - not the young ones as you're mentioning.

BlooferLady · 29/05/2011 08:25

Am laughing at throwing away the holes!

I have to say I go for the full fat cheesing myself, as strong as I can get it, then having just the one oz feels less depressing some'ow.

OP posts:
Muser · 29/05/2011 09:56

Low fat cheese is an abomination.

I am still being a bit rubbish. However, there are now no biscuits in the house so that helps. Think my mistake yesterday was just having salad for lunch. I was so hungry later and am not stocked up with healthy snacks.

BlooferLady · 29/05/2011 10:02

Ooo I've tried the 'salad for lunch' approach - I was that hungry barely 25 minutes later I would cheerfully have eaten my own shoes had there not been a dusty packet of egg noodles lurking at the back of the kitchen cupboard...

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 29/05/2011 11:03

I have been so norty I cannot begin to write it down.
I will be back when I can face the enormity of my actions!

AlpinePony · 29/05/2011 11:19

I fell over at the gym. We were halfway through a pilates exercise when my eyes locked with another woman and we realised we were both twisted up and facing the wrong way - you know arms & shoulders going the wrong way. We both got the giggles but it was I, an apparent Weeble (of Wobbling but not falling down fame) who fell down. Blush

I think the trick with salad for lunch is to make sure you've got real oil in the dressing and something "real" on it - e.g., avocado/egg/go heavy on the meat. Tomatoes, cucumber, pepper & lettuce fool no man's stomach.

Muser · 29/05/2011 16:25

I think you're right Alps. The secret to salad for lunch is to serve it with a 10oz steak. Nom.

Better day today. Breakfast: muesli + yogurt (4syns) Lunch: smoked salmon, 2 slices wholemeal bread (HEB x2), salad, butter (2 syns). Dinner is going to be lamb koftes and salad. Fruit and fat free yogurt for extras. And I am about to have babybel & an apple for a snack (HEA). And also my milk allowance for the day is another HEA.

UrsulaBuffay · 29/05/2011 17:25

Hello all!

Have just joined SW online, not for the first time in my life, and boy am I relieved. Have spent the last few months (ok six) consuming a food mountain and I feel ill. Am weighing in heavier than I was at 9 months pg Blush

I know SW works, I know it works for me I just need to get my fat ass in gear and commit already.

So glad there's a great thread on here, I couldn't find one. Lovin the vibe.

BlooferLady · 29/05/2011 17:36

Hello Phoebe Ursula Grin

I knlw just what you mean about SW-relief. It's surprisingly hard to gear-arse-up (I spent a month wailing that it wasn't working, until Some People and I really am looking nowhere in particular here, pointed out I wasn't actually doing it) but it does work

In other news, and in keeping with the manic Keeping of the List, I had me HEA cheese and some grapes as a snack. I think I ate too much (quelle surprise) at lunchtime, but at least it was all free foods & I'm not trying to chew my own bra-strap in desperation for sustenance.

In other other news I haven't left the house today. And I don't even care.

Grin

I am in that rose tinted spectacles haze where I haven't actually started so I am really determined and it is going to be so easy- y'know the one.

I have been here before!

Have not got a fully functional kitchen at the mo which has spun me into a panic (no oven= sw chips!) but am going to stop mainlining donuts & attempt to food optimise. Have done a big food shop & committed money to sign up so I better had do.

Must say now that I am crap at keeping up with long running threads, but shall pop in & out.

mandalee · 29/05/2011 18:19

'Lo again you lot!

Have been away for the weekend taking the spawn to Legoland, which I WISH someone had warned me was pretty much crap... oh well. He had a good time, and that's what counts with these things. Was pretty good food-wise, except for the "falafel burger" at LL which I could only stomach two bites of - so greasy, and they put CHEESE on it of all things! Hmm

Glad everyone's keeping wings and halos more or less in place. One thing I realised this weekend is that I actually, genuinely am starting to not crave junk food - it's never as nice as you think it will be (ok, very rarely) and makes me feel like shit afterward, both mentally and physically. Ursula, I know just what you mean about feeling ill, so true! (And welcome, BTW... it's a good place.)

The corollary to this realisation is that I figure on the FEW occasions when I know it WILL be worth the calories (like, say... roast duck in France, or honest-to-God gelato in Italy) then I'll be able to let myself enjoy a bit guilt-free. Right? Right. Grin

Alpine, I now want spicy Thai weetabix for dinner. Grin And I'm also betting the LF Philly was your poor deluded hubby's stab at mascarpone... yes?

Also laughed v hard at the image of you shearing said infant with bikini clippers. You're good value, you. Wink

Lastly, must ask, Bloof - what is this scary book? And is it related to the thesis?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 29/05/2011 18:55

Oh the shame. Chinese takeaway fri night. Yesterday several glasses of wine and fizz, goat cheese starter, salmon and salad main, choc cake pudding. Pate and bread for supper. Little chef fry up this am, god knows what for dinner.

There. I have fessed up.
