You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

Ooh nice bloof. How you doing the salmon? Today I'm having a hungry day and want to bake. Must resist!
Instead of watching homes under the hammer I should be doing the ironing....

BlooferLady · 13/05/2011 10:43

don't bake! If you bake I'll bake! My mate made me throw away my self raising flour and my icing sugar. Best decision ever. Painful, mind! But helpful.

I will marinade the salmon in honey, soy, mirin and ginger and chilli, and then cook it in a pan I fink. Lord I'm hungry now too!

Morning everyone, just marking my place:) Went for a walk again this morning before work and managed a couple of short sprints! On Day 3 of SW and am basically still trying to get my head around EE and syns. I will persist ....

Cheeseandbiscuits · 13/05/2011 10:53

Keep going obrigada. any questions, we're always here!!

bloof I'm not going to. Decided to write thank you cards instead. Yawn. Good idea chucking all the ingredients. Prob for the best. Salmon sounds nice. Going to make our curry mind blowingly hot so maybe I can poo tonight. Wonder how many syns in lactulose?!?

AlpinePony · 13/05/2011 10:53

Oh if only losing weight were somehow correlated to health. Arsebiscuits. If there's a famine you'll all be trying to eat me and roast my buttocks knowing that the meat is good, hormone & pesticide free. :(

MadameBoo · 13/05/2011 11:05

Alriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight Busty Babes!

Bloofer, you are very funny and articulate, have you considered writing as a career? Wink

I am at Fishes house. She is making a SW scan bran banana cake. I am hoping I will still be here when it's finished to eat it all help her test it.

obrigada · 13/05/2011 12:03

At the rate I am peeing (TMI) pretty soon I will have to wear a nappy :)

fishandlilacs · 13/05/2011 12:21

The scan bran cake it's not really worth it in our opinion. it tastes like weetabix with water and splenda-if I make it again I may not add the sweetener at all as boo suggested. Ity has honey and banana in it already so it should be sweet enough.

obrigada · 13/05/2011 12:42

Think I will give it a miss so Fish Wink

BlooferLady · 13/05/2011 13:13

Boo Grin!

Hmmmmm, scan bran cake not appealing to me - thank you for being valiant guinea pigs!

Can someone with access to the SW online synculator pliz tell me the syn values for WW fat free yogurt and Shape low fat yogs? Ta! Am doing as people suggesting and stepping away from the Mullerlight. Technically I should be better off with the WW/Shape ones as they have fewer calories, but I am never sure how SW aligns with cal-counting stuff Confused

Am pursuing my new mantra of SW plus portion control. I have a feeling that my month-long failure (MONTH LONG! ARGH!) has been not just hidden syns like snarfing almonds (incidentally these have now been emptied into a huge packet of muesli, so I can't eat them [tactical genius emoticon]) and sugar in coffee (no longer a feature of my life), but simply eating too much. I think they should alter their ethos so it says something like 'no need to weigh' foods rather than 'unlimited', but I guess that's not quite so snappy...

well done on the baking avoidance, cheese!

AlpinePony · 13/05/2011 13:23

mullerlight is just a label doll, SW/WW still the same shite.

BlooferLady · 13/05/2011 13:31

oo d'you fink?

I always thought there is some difference because they have actual artificial sweetener in and the others don't? Shoulda checked packs!

I do like flavoured fruity yogs though ... good low cal low fat desserts...

'Lo.
Just marking place, back when the teething, fevery cold-ridden baby isn't blowing her nose on me.
Sigh.

obrigada · 13/05/2011 14:19

Bloofer why were you advised to stay away from Muller Lights, have been living on them for last 3 days Confused

BlooferLady · 13/05/2011 14:29

Hi Ob - well, I had a big fat strop the other day, because I was 'sticking to SW' and wasn't losing any weight, so the Wise Ones of the Fred gave me some advice on lots of things (largely summarised as 'put down the fucking fork, Bloof' Grin Grin).

I think there's a general consensus that MLs are full of artificial sweetener, and though low cal are not great for the body generally. Someone (forget who) had managed to gain weight the week she had had lots of MLs. Also, because they fall mysteriously into the 'all you can eat' category, I am minded to think it's easy to eat 500 calories worth of them without thinking it 'matters' IYSWIM. If you have what someone else called 'a good honest low fat yogurt' then it's syn counted so you would only have 1 or 2.

I dunno who is right here btw - but I decided to dispense with them for this week.

OP posts:
obrigada · 13/05/2011 14:34

Funnily enough Bloofer I did wonder why they specifically suggested ML as opposed to just a 'good honest low fat yogurt' but got no further than wondering Hmm

BlooferLady · 13/05/2011 14:42

well I think is it because other low fat yogs have or might have sugar in them - and ML is all sugar free, for which, read artificial sweetener, ie not good for you. Which us why I was hoping Shape yogs would be better, but I see Pony doubts it!

I am a big fan of SW - it worked wonderfully for me before and it's very easy and consoling - but it does have these weird quirks. And I tend to find that SW group leaders don't like you to ask pointed questions (such as why are MLs free but Shape ones not, given that Shapes are fewer cals Hmm ), perhaps because they can't answer.........

OP posts:
obrigada · 13/05/2011 14:57

Thanks for that Bloofer, for the moment will try to limit my ML:)

WhatTheActualFuck · 13/05/2011 17:44

Aaaah, this is where you're hiding out. Had a moment of panic when i saw that Bloof had blown the doors of the last thread.

I'm partial to an Activia Fat Free youghurt...they're only approx. 75 cals (no idea how that converts to syns) and very tasty. Does anyone know if they're full of artificial crap?

Polishing my halo today as I went out last night to an art exhibition launch where there was copious free wine and I drank one small glass of orange juice. I would add that I know precisely fuck all squared about art but my friend owns the gallery so I go and pretend to know more than I do just to suppport her. Luckily, bullshitting is one of my special talents. Although I seem to recall my Uni tutors were not necessarily in agreement with it's classification as a 'talent' per se.

Anyone got exciting plans for the weekend? I don't so I'm hoping to get some vicarious enjoyment through those of you who actually have a life. I need to get my arse in gear and pack for going away.....so if you see me lurking around these parts over the weekend, do feel free to tell me to fuck off as I really am running very short on time to get organised.

One last thing...what the blithering feck is scan bran? Does it taste as bad as it sounds?

mummynoseynora · 13/05/2011 18:22

found you!!!!

Grin
Cheeseandbiscuits · 13/05/2011 18:45

I agree, what the hell IS scanbran? Sounds like something that my baby fills her nappy with...

Been good today. Walked to Westfield shopping centre and got some new gym clobber. Size 16 looked half decent. Need to dig my trainers out ready for sunday. Went to M&S for lunch and avoided all their yummy cakes and had a JP with beans. Making a SW curry tonight to avoid getting a takeaway.

fuck tomorrow we are going to our local pub for lunch and Sunday I'm having my gym induction. That's it. Now that am not BF am hoping for some sleep as my HB can finally do some night feeds! What you packing for? Have you made a list. I love a good list!

ob I have one Ml yog every day and I lost 4.5lbs last week. I think it continues the theme of everything in moderation!
