You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

Holy cow my bum hurts'

well done fuck for packing, gold star for you! I'm very jealous of you going on your holidays.

Bloof how was the walk?

Today I'm going to eat:
b: scrambled egg on toast(heb)
l: prawn salad
d: seafood pasta with parmesan (hea)

mummynoseynora · 17/05/2011 09:23

morning all

I didn't manage to shred last night - ended up having a right chill out as was shattered... however I have brought my running stuff to work and am going to attempt a run in my lunchbreak Confused apparently there is a flat 4k route around here

pixie - I did it in november, didn't lose any weight as was eating like a horse - but lost LOTS of inches, so definitely toned up! Was thinking if I could get into the habit of doing it 2/3 days a week then it would help tone me up a bit alongside the running ?

kudos to those of you meal planning and eating mega healthy - I should really try that one day!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/05/2011 09:43

Ooh I may have to get this shred DVD - although it will royally piss off DH after I joined overpriced gym last week. Well done on taking yer trainers to work nora. I have to plan my food for the day otherwise I eat crap that I can just grab.

Off to the supermarket and a week of healthy meals planned in advance so I can't put rubbish in the trolley. Then I'm off for a swim I think!

BlooferLady · 17/05/2011 09:45

Thanks so much for that Boo. It's incredibly reassuring to hear that pregnancy need not be a case of irrevocably gaining 50lb! I think I worry because I've seen one or two women who were overweight to start with getting really incredibly obese by the time they gave birth, and never losing it. And I worry about the impact on the baby too - I am nowhere near heavy enough thankfully, but a close relative lost her baby at 5 months Sad and she was very, very overweight indeed, and of course I might be barking up the wrong tree, but I did wonder if her weight (and, on top of that, stonking unfitness and I suspect poor diet) had affected it. Poor darling. Bad enough having an mc without having people like me wondering if her weight was a factor Sad Sad.

Now then - GUESS WHO WON OUT OF THEIR TEAM?!?!?!? I have no idea what came over me. I was walking with a fit young lass talking 19 to the dozen, and out of nowhere we suddenly got possessed with bitter competitiveness and with about 4 miles to go decided we were going to win, oh we were we were. I actually RAN a fair bit of it towards the end - Lord knows what I must have looked like, pelting up the Strand in a long draped black skirt Confused. ANYWAY thank you to those who sponsored me - I did you proud, I think. If by 'proud' you mean wound up at the Law Society dripping with sweat, gripping the collar of one of the stewards and yelling TELL THEM ALL WE WERE FIRST TELL THEM ALL!!!!! Grin Blush

I did lose sight of my healthy eating, sadly. When we got back a posh tea and nice wine was laid on, so I had a lot of sandwiches and 2 glasses of white, then toast when I got home. However I have just calculated that a woman of my weight doing a brisk walk for 10k burns 689.04 calories, so hopefully I'll be OK!

Food for the last day before the DAY. OF. DOOOOOOOOOM:

B: Fruit salad, yogurt, all bran (HEB)
L: grilled chicken, pea and edemame bean salad, banana, blueberries
D: Smoked mackerel kedgeree, fruit salad.

Good luck everyone!

PS I keep hearing about this Shred thing, too. It seems VERY good. Isn't it only 15 minutes a day?? But I have TWO gym memberships, so imagine what the OM would say Grin

Thanks Hedgepig for the info on Tuc crackers:) Have my first weigh in this evening and don't feel like I have lost an ounce :( but am still going to go, whether or not I stay for the meeting is another matter Hmm

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/05/2011 10:28

Well done bloof, very impressed ESP the running bit. I'd gave paid money to see you pegging it down the strand!!
ob you might be pleasantly surprised! Fingers crossed for you.

Urgh heard a very distinct rumble from DD playmat, poomagedon may have occured!

obrigada · 17/05/2011 10:34

Hopefully Cheese I will see something come off but not holding out much hope, on the plus side in the last 7 days, I have not had a take-out nor has a glass of red wine passed my lips:)

BlooferLady · 17/05/2011 10:45

Ooo good luck Ob!

boaf.

AlpinePony · 17/05/2011 11:34

Well I've bitten the bullet and contacted the clinic to get my band tightened. I had it tightened post-partum last september and have lost just a few kilos since then, so clearly not tight enough. And whilst I'm not looking forward to resuming the enforced bulimia - at least you don't go hungry on the band as it just deadens the sensation of hunger. :( Obviously if I get an appointment soon I will then immediately become pregnant and have to get it loosened again, although tbh will not make a massive difference given hyperemisis of last pregnancy.

bloof I seem to recall that Whitney Houston went from 7 stone 7 lbs (and yes, she's 5'8"+!) to 14 stone with her pregnancy - hence she never left her house or was photographed! Wink All my Beryl Cook friends including one who got pregnant at 21 stone the same week the NHS said "fatties can't get diffed" all lost weight or stayed the same during their pregnancy. I put on weight because I snacked on air & dust.

If armageddon comes though they'll all be wanting a slice of me then won't they? Quite literally. Hmm

mummynoseynora · 17/05/2011 13:42

I finally have something all good to say here

Managed a 4km run at luncthime!!! yes- 4km!!! my god did that hurt!!! Calves still tight from 2 runs in 2 days at the weekend, had to stop to stretch about 4 times but I did it - AND I didn't die!!! Completed in 34.55 but I think with my calves healthy I could have done it in 30 no probs

AND I have come back and once cooled / changed / washed etc I have sat here with a sainsbos bgty cesar salad with some chicken too

obrigada · 17/05/2011 14:15

That is brilliant Mummy - full of admiration for you:)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/05/2011 14:39

Well done Nora! Am sat at the gym feeding DD And having a cuppa waiting for DH to finish his workout so I can do mine!
Went to Asda for the first time ever. Was a bit of a shock to they system but oh so cheap! Fridge full of fruit and veg now.

AlpinePony · 17/05/2011 15:29

Well I've got my appointment next weds at the clinic. I figured I may as well use the damn thing as I paid a lot of money and went under general anaesthetic to have it put in. Bit like having state of the art gym machines at home and then using them to hang clothes on. Blush NotthatIknowanyonewho'sdonethat.

4km? Fuckinell. Shock

BlooferLady · 17/05/2011 15:36

Am AMAZED at the casual undertaking of a 4k run!!!! That would take me months to build up to and I would dine out on it for a good six months after Grin

Pony good luck at the clinic. As you say, it's there, so it should be used: you ahve already crossed the threashold, so you might as well sit in the room. My oh my what a successful analogy that wasn't.

OP posts:
BlooferLady · 17/05/2011 15:37

I don't know what a threashold is, but I'd like two, please. With butter and marmalade.

Hello there beautiful ladies - I have been directed to this thread by BlooferLady (who was very kind to me on an AIBU thread about weight today). I am fat and know I need to lose weight, but am struggling with depression too, which makes doing anything that requires motivation rather difficult. But I did manage to eat something for breakfast (dry cereal, and not too much of it) and had beans on toast for lunch - so not tooooo bad, I hope.

I think I weigh over 20st at the moment, and am not happy about weighing myself at the moment, but can I still please lurk here and get encouragement from you lovely people - and offer encouragement too, of course.

mummynoseynora · 17/05/2011 15:53

Grin loving the amazement at my 4km.... thats only nearly 2.5 miles peeps - half a mile more than I normally do.... AND I need to be able to do 5km WITHOUT STOPPING by july..... its the stopping that shall be the problem - I promise you all! Grin

Pony - hope all goes well at the clinic... if you've got it, you may as well make the most of it!

Cheese... ASDA is ... interesting isn't it! But the bargains to be had, particularly on nappies etc are well worth the headache that you WILL get! Grin ... I go there and bulk buy nappies and wipes once every month or two

Hullo DTsgirl!
Welcome to the dark side... of course you can lurk and not weigh in! :) Have you been to docs regarding the depression? Are you able to do any exercise? I don't suffer from depression but I know it improves my mood no end, even getting out for a short walk? Half the time I have to force myself to do it mind!

BlooferLady · 17/05/2011 15:57

Ooooooooo Hello SDTG! Welcome m'deario. Lurk to your heart's content and i suspect you will be jolly good at supporting me us when I we have one of my our frequent occasional melt-downs Grin

OP posts:
StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 17/05/2011 15:57

Yes, mummynoseynora - I am on antidepressants and having therapy. I don't do much exercise at all - walking is painful, and I just don't motivate myself to get to the gym. As the weather improves, I will try to get out and about with the dog a couple of times a week. She loves her walks but is just as happy to curl up on the couch with me - plus loves her food and puts on weight fairly easily, so I guess it is true about dogs resembling their owners (though she is lovely, and I don't think I am).

BlooferLady · 17/05/2011 16:02

Staying I've just snooped at your dog! She is gorgeousness!

OP posts:
StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 17/05/2011 16:34

Well, we think so, BlooferLady - and she knows so! And I get lots of love and cuddles from her.

One worrying thought, though - she is called Coco. Perhaps I need to rename her 'low sugar chocolate substitute confectionary'! Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/05/2011 17:51

Big hug to SDTG! Welcome! You are more than welcome to lurk around our little fat club. I'm glad your getting some help. Tiny baby steps are the key and we'll help you along the way if you want.

alpine if you went through all that you should use it my dear. That's what it's there for.

Gym went well, fitter than I thought I was which is reassuring. Feeling melancholy tonight. DH is off to some Prof Brian Cox geek fest and I'm stuck in looking after the baby. Which is fine, he should go out and enjoy himself but I haven't been out without the baby yet so I'm jealous. Oh well, got my pjs on and planning on a gin later in front of some crap telly. Anything good on tv tonight.

Nora - I've never seen so many people shopping in their PJs! Tres amusant. But baby bits were cheap and they have some lovely baby clothes. And it was chirpychirpyxheapcheap. Which is much needed due to crap mat pay!

mummynoseynora · 17/05/2011 18:47

Shopping in pjs?! Thats a new one for me! Don't get that at my local one!
