Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Wonderful news LadyBuzz. I think you deserve a celebration after all the stress. Have a lovely evening Smile

Shaxx · 16/05/2011 19:53

Ladybuzz thats great news! I agree with the others - you definitely deserve it. Have fun!

I'm kicking myself as I've really ovedone it today. I haven't been snacking but I seem to have had tonnes of bread with every meal!
I had a tomato soup and mini baguette thing from pret at lunchtime (400cals in total!) and some lamb stew with 3 big slices of tiger bread for dinner. I don't normally eat white bread but dh bought that darned tiger loaf and it was lovely. Oh and 2 penguins for dessert. What is it with these penguins??

Anyway, I've confessed now so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Otherwise I'll end up putting that 1.5lbs back on.

dinkystinky · 16/05/2011 20:32

Congratulations Ladybuzz - enjoy your takeaway! Glad all has worked out for the best for you.

Knotty - am off to new york for family wedding.

justaminute · 17/05/2011 09:24

Ladybuzz ? hope you enjoyed your curry. The relief must be immense.

I had a good hen weekend. It was fairly tame, I didn?t go too overboard with food or drink and I visited the gym for 1 hour. I just can?t do late nights anymore, I still feel shattered today which is worrying as when tired I crave the sweet stuff.

Dinky ? I?m trying to squeeze into the dress I want to wear too. I wore it to a wedding last year and it was fine, maybe a bit snug on the hips but I tried it on last night and I can?t do it up Sad. It actually feels loser on the hips and waist, the problem area is the chest ? I?m blaming the Shred! Can I lose 2 inches off my top in 6 weeks? Do I ditch the shred? Or do I go shopping?

fedupofnamechanging · 17/05/2011 09:34

jam, I'd go shopping. Exercise changes your shape, so it's possible that the dress will never fit you again the way it used to. Still it's good news that it is looser on the hips and waist. Shaxx, the problem with penguins is that they are so insubstantial that you need more than one before you feel you've eaten any chocolate. I think a penguin has around 130 cals. A crunchie has 180, so only 50 calories difference, but when you've eaten a crunchie, you know it!
dinky, have a good time in New York.

Am very hungry today. Have had breakfast, but feel like I've eaten nothing. Today is going to be tricky, I think

knottyhair · 17/05/2011 09:54

Morning! Shaxx, hope you have a better day food-wise today Smile. Dinky, enjoy New York, very Envy! JAM, same as you, I can't do late nights anymore either. Anything after about 11.30 and I'm useless the next day. I agree with Karma, I'd go shopping! Karma, I have nibbly days like that. When I do, I try to plan in lower calorie meals, and a few healthy snacks so I can "pick" in between, but stay within my allowance. Don't know if that helps Smile. Just done Level 3 Shred - man, that was hard, I'm really feeling my Jillian-free week! Going to have the rest of the chicken soup for lunch, and am making a cottage pie for tea. Found an old Good Housekeeping recipe that's only 450 cals so will have that with some broccoli. Have a good day everyone xx

dinkystinky · 17/05/2011 09:58

Glad you had a nice hen weekend JAM - and impressed ar you gyming it while on a hen weekend. Is it the chest or is it the back that's the issue. If its the chest, a minimiser bra may help massively but perhaps wont give you the same silhouette you'd like. But if its your back that has broadened - which exercise will do - I'm afraid its time to go shopping

Knotty - somehow New York with 2 small kids (one of whom is a rubbish sleeper at the best of times - god only knows what he'll be like with jetlag) isnt quite as appealing as New York with just DH and cocktails and shopping to look forward to... but am sure we'll have a lovely time.

Karma - try drinking lots of fluid - may trick your brain into thinking its full..

justaminute · 17/05/2011 10:40

Sadly it?s my back that has expanded, I have no boobs to speak of. The Shred has turned me from a 12 top, 14/16 bottom to a 14 top, 14/16 bottom. I?m not impressed.
So, it looks like I need to go shopping then. I had a mooch last week and didn?t see anything I liked and I didn?t really want to spend money on something I?m unlikely to wear again, it is also likely to call for new shoes and bag, my credit card may take a battering.

dinkystinky · 17/05/2011 11:05

Hmm, that doesnt sound good JAM - I suspect you're now a 12/14 bottom if you're looser around the hips/thighs/bum area. I bet with all the shred and netball you've been playing you have really great arms and shoulders - choose something that really accentuates those.

justaminute · 17/05/2011 12:23

My dream is to fit into a pair of size 12 jeans. I think when boobs were being dished out mine got put into my bum.

LadyBuzz · 17/05/2011 14:02

I enjoyed my curry last night and am being extra good to make up for it. We desperately need to go shopping though, its hard being healthy when the options are Easter eggs and cake!

dinky New York sounds fab, hope you enjoy it.

JAM hope you find something lovely to wear.

I managed to do my 14 jeans up this morning, I couldn't breathe, walk or sit down but they were most definately fastened Grin I need to get rid of the horrendous over hang of flab I have acquired - yack!

fedupofnamechanging · 17/05/2011 16:12

Grin @ jam. It's a bugger, isn't it? I'm the typical pear shape, so not too bad on top, but whenever I lose weight, it goes from my face and boobs first rather than my tummy and let's say 'generous' backside.

LadyBuzz, well done on getting into the size 14's. I have kept my clothes from my skinnier days, but am too scared to try them on. They include a skirt that I bought not long after having DD which used to be a bit big and now I don't think I could do it up Blush. Clearly no one told my body that it was supposed to lose weight after the baby was born!

Have been okay today, calorie wise. Had go ahead biscuits and low fat yoghurt for breakfast. Had pkt of quorn slices for lunch (allegedly roast chicken flavour, but unlike any roast chicken i've ever eaten) and a fry's chocolate creme. Will have chicken and veg for dinner. Went out for coffee with my brother earlier to Cafe Nero and managed to just have coffee, rather than cake and hot chocolate with whipped cream, which is what I'd usually have. Feel like I am swimming in coffee though, in an attempt to ward off the munchies.

Hope everyone else is doing okay today

iluvcake · 17/05/2011 18:02

Lady Buzz-brilliant news about your DH's job-so pleased for you both! And congrats on getting into your jeans too!

justamin, lol at your "boobs bum"! I have noticed my back has got wider too. It must be the shred then! I haven;t done it for a while but recently I kept thinking "why does my bra feel tight?". I can't afford for my back to be wider-I've been asked in the past if I'm a swimmer-er no!

dinky, Wow! A wedding in New York...how lovely. Is it in Manhattan?

I'm on the second day of the "17 day diet". It basically healthy eating with a quick start low carb bit but cutting out sugar, wheat etc. I'm finding it hard going as I've got a sugar withdrawal headache and feel REALLY HUNGRY so I'm having little snacks of fruit/nuts/chicken etc. I need to do this though to get rid of my sugar/carb cravings.

Shaxx · 17/05/2011 19:27

Ladybuzz well done on getting into your size 14s! You'll be wearing them comfortably in no time Smile

Dinky wedding in NY sounds brill! How long are you going to be there? I would leave the kids and dh for an afternoon and go off shopping by myself Grin

Knotty I misread your post and thought you were having a cottage cheese pie for dinner. I was thinking 'yuk, she 's really let herself down after all those yummy meals she's been posting'. I hope your cottage pie was yum Smile

iluvcake whats the 17 day diet about? [intrigued]

I've had a nuch better day today and have been mainly having soups and yoghurt. Trying to get the motivation to go to the gym.....

iluvcake · 17/05/2011 21:37

Shaxx, I'm not sure how to link it but have a look on Amazon. It's got really good reviews.

I started yesterday and had a sneaky weigh-in this morning and I had lost 2 lbs!!

Shaxx · 17/05/2011 21:40

Wow! Am gonna check it out.
Can I ask you what you've been eating though? If its really low or zero carbs, I can't do that kind of diet.

iluvcake · 17/05/2011 22:08

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs or yoghurt and fruit
Lunch: Big salad with salmon or tuna dressed with tbsp oil/2 tbsp balsamic
Dinner: Salmon or chicken grilled with steamed veg
Snacks: Fruit/Natural Yoghurt with bit of fruit
3 cups of green tea a day
You can have coffee and tea as well
2 litres of water ......typical diet for first 17 days(!) but there are some more recipes that are a bit more interesting in the book.

I'm finding it hard but then again, I have been biffing constantly for the last two monthsBlush. I know once my body adjusts, I won't feel hungry and my cravings will be gone.

I'm planning on staying as strict as I can until I go on holiday in 10 days time and then relaxing a bit but I don't want to go back to eating loads of carbs and sugar as I have been doing recently.

fedupofnamechanging · 18/05/2011 09:38

That sounds like a nice diet iluvcake. I love balsamic dressings and salmon. It's good that you can eat fruit, because a lot of low carb diets don't allow it until you are at the 'maintain' stage.

I had a revolting dinner last night. I bought a weight watchers pasta sauce and had it with grilled chicken and veg. The chicken was okay, but the sauce and veg were very bland. I gave up in the end and had a fry's chocolate creme, which was very nice.

Am being good today. Am having pineapple and a low fat yoghurt for breakfast, soup for lunch and grilled chicken with salad for dinner.

knottyhair · 18/05/2011 10:13

Morning! JAM, you're welcome to a handful of my boobs. That sounded better in my head Grin. LadyBuzz, congrats on getting into your jeans! In the words of Irene Cara, "what a feeling" Grin. Karma, well done on resisting the cake & hot chocolate. Hope your dinner is a bit nicer tonight! iluv, good luck with your diet, let us know the results in 10 days! Shaxx, ugh, vom at the idea of cottage cheese pie. There's not a lot I won't eat (unfortunately) but cottage cheese is one of them, just the smell makes me dry heave. Just done a 6W6P L1, despite aching like buggery from the last 2 days of Jillian. Got to do my best after last weekend, and this one coming is my birthday weekend (actually on Monday) so won't be sticking to my allowance methinks, although I'll try not to go too mad. Had poached egg on toast for breakfast, mushroom soup for lunch, maybe ryvitas with turkey if I'm still hungry and tuna & tomato rice with salad for tea. Have a zonetastic one xx

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 18/05/2011 10:44

Lol Shaxx at the cottage cheese pie! I'd think that was pretty foul too! We're over in the US for 9 days - and my parents, sister and her boyfriend are over there as is MIL (looking after SIL's baby as she's returning to work) - so hopefully will find someone to keep an eye on the kids for an afternoon and evening so we can get some shopping, culture and cocktails in!

Karma - I really loathe WW pre-prepared sauces, reckon you're better off with some passata and herbs every time. Your breakfast today sounds nice.

JAM - I used to be an hourglass and post kids now tend towards an apple. Its very annoying how your body changes over time. Your bum boobs made me laugh - as did Knotty's handful of boobs.

V hungover today - had Reception mums drinks out last night and basically quaffed white wine with only a couple of olives and a handful of fries to buffer my stomach. Starving this morning so had a bacon roll on the way to work - will make up with soup and light veg filled dinner tonight I think.

Iluv - that diet sounds quite well balanced! Glad you're enjoying it.

Shaxx · 18/05/2011 11:17

Iluv your diet sounds nice. I wish I could follow it but I think its too low carb for me. I bet you'll lose some good weight on that!

Karma yuk. I agree with Dinky. Passata, herbs and crushed garlic and you're sorted.

Knotty well done on getting your exercise done even though you're aching! I don't think you're even allowed to stick to your allowance on your birthday! Its the rules Smile

Dinky 9 days is a good amount of time. I'm you'll have loads of fun with all that family around. Hope your hangover clears up soon.

I've had some fruit yoghurt for breakfast, got soup for lunch and chicken & rice for dinner today. Hope you all have a good day.

LadyBuzz · 18/05/2011 11:30

knotty i agree with Shaxx, you have to enjoy yourself on your birthday, hope you have a good one!

dinky i hope you do get a chance of a child free nightin NY, sounds fab.

I've tried a no carb plan before, I just couldn't do it, I lost a fair amount of weight but I would have stabbed you for a piece of toast after a week Grin

karma another vote for passata here, i sometimes add a sprinkle of chilli to give it a bit of a kick too.
I did try the WW tomato and basil chicken ready meal last night and I actually enjoyed it, the chicken was a bit dry but it was nice.

I feeling very picky today, managed to avoid the cake so far but have eaten half an Easter egg in very very tiny pieces because somehow it makes it not as bad Hmm

Beef stew for tea tonight, very very tasty and only 400 cals, got the recipie of the diet site I use. DH and the DSs love it too.

I have more then my fair share of boobage too, they don't seem to go either when I lose weight my bra size just gets stranger and it costs be a bl**dy fortune as nowhere sells my size, very annoying.

justaminute · 18/05/2011 11:40

Knotty I?ll happily take a handful of your boobs if you could grab a handful of my bum Grin.

I went for a 30 min run last night. I?m trying to up my speed so I attempted to lengthen my stride, it made me feel like a proper runner but it really made my bum cheeks wobble around. I need a sports bra for my buttocks Grin.

Agree with Shaxx. The rules state you can eat/drink what you want on your birthday and you are allowed to chant ? It IS my birthday!?.

Today?s plan
Branflakes & juice
Egg & tuna salad ? although have to go to dentist this pm so I might change that to avoid smelly breath Blush
Chicken stirfry
Fruit snacks
Netball

knottyhair · 19/05/2011 10:00

Morning! Dinky, hope you get a bit of time to yourselves in New York, and that your hangover wasn't too bad! JAM, LOL at a buttock bra Grin. I think we should go into the Dragons Den with a "buttock hammock". Was it just a check-up at the dentists or did you have to have something done? Just did 4 circuits of Jillian's BFBM and made myself do one of the circuits I hate (involves burpees). Still hate it. Cereal & skimmed milk for breakfast, about to have a banana, tomato soup for lunch and grilled pork steak with new potatoes & salad for tea. Hope you've all got the sunshine xx

OP posts:
iluvcake · 19/05/2011 10:12

lol knotty and jam with your boobage talk! Well done on your run too JAM-you're doing really well. Hope dentist went ok-did you substitute the tunaGrin. Knotty, what's 6W6P? Is it a Jillian dvd? And you're allowed to eat cake and whatever you like on your birthday-have a great day on Monday.

Karma and Shaxx, I'm not usually very good with low carb either but it really works for me because of my intolerance to wheat. At the moment, my stomach feels so much flatter and I feel less "puffy". DH has even noticed I look slimmer.

I had a blip yesterday. I'm afraid to say I found a crunchie in the fridge (at the back of some cheese) and devoured it (was thinking of you Karma!). It was bloody nice though. Then a friend invited me to a wine tasting at a local vineyard last night. It was really interesting and we tasted some lovely wine-was really impressed. I made sure I drove so that I couldn't drink too much-was a bit worried that I'd ruined all my hard work but this morning I had lost 1.5lbs-sorry I know I shouldn't be weighing myself mid-week but I couldn't help it!

This morning I've had a lots of berries with natural yoghurt. Feel quite full at the moment. Am hoping that the worst of my withdrawal symptoms are over!
